The Mayor Office

Both Emily and Rick had both arrived at the mayor office together. Emily took a seat at the big trouble, Rick got both of them a drink while they waited. The Commissioner walked into the room. Emily stood up and shake his hand, he shake her hand back. Rick also shake his hand, all three of them are having a drinking together. Then someone else was walking inside with the mayor. It was captain Montgomery, both him and the mayor were talking back and forth. By the time they had reached the table, both the commissioner, Rick and his wife were sitting at. Montgomery had a smirked on his face. But Emily was going to wipe it off his face in no time flat. Emily was going to bring up his protection for one lead detective Beckett. "Hello, Emily and Rick. How are you two doing today?" Rick smile at his friend, "were both doing good." There wasn't going to be time for small talk. "Something has been brought to my attention today. Montgomery over thinks that you're wife sold both of his two best detectives." Emily couldn't believe the nerve of this man. Emily looked at everyone in the room. "I don't take anything from him. Both of his men came up to me and my husband. While we were both on a lunch date together. If you don't believe me ask my husband or the two detectives themselves." Rick was holding on to his wife hand. "Yes, they came up to me and my wife. While we were having lunch together." Mayor and the police commissioner were both looking at each other back and forth. "Why, did they come to you for Captain Castle?" Emily was thinking over everything that day at the restaurant. On what both of the detectives have told her about the unfair treatment both men had received from their lead detective.

Emily answered with a firm voice, "both of the detectives were telling me and my husband about the unfair treatment from their lead detective Beckett and their captain not stepping in to help them either. They came to me asking for transferred from the 12th precinct, asking if they could work for me." Mayor and the commissioner was listening very closely to the conversation. "That's one huge of accusation against Montgomery and his lead detective." The four of them are looking at the captain for an explanation of any kind. Montgomery is looking straight at everyone, "excuses me mayor and comissioner. I think detective Beckett, is just going through a hard time." All four of them are given him looks of disgust. The police commissioner is the first to spoke, "Captain Montgomery, while I admit the way you are trying to protected your lead detective. I think you are way too protected of her. Do you know the difference in being a boss and a parent figure?" He was asking detective Montgomery a question. "Yes, sir, I know the difference between being a boss and a parent figure." The police commissioner was thinking then added on. "I don't think, you really know the difference at all. Your too busy playing a parent figure to her. I don't think you know the difference at all. In order to act like a boss, you have to take responsibility with not only how you been acting and handling your duties as a captain and a leader." Montgomery was looking down at his hands and the table. "Look Commissioner I believe that Beckett is a very good lead detective. I'll admitted I have had ever single one of her former partners complain against her." The Mayor and Commissioner won't liking were this was going. "Captain, if everyone of her partners was having trouble with Beckett then you should have done a better job at disciplining her. Then we wouldn't be here today, you could learn a lot from Emily as a captain."

Emily was watching as the captain of the 12th precinct wasn't getting out of this one way or another. Emily leaned her head on her husband shoulder. He wraps a arm around her shoulder. Both of them kissed lightly on the lips, they pulled away from each other. The mayor was watching them both. The mayor was really happy for his friend. Not too many people find the one person in their live that matters. Emily was like no other woman; she was very beautiful, had her head on straight and was very straight forward. The mayor had meet detective Beckett a couple of times. He don't like what he saw at first. Beckett seemed like she was more driving for justice, but she don't think about the consequences. Beckett also had a very bad attitude through some people. The mayor was wondering why did Montgomery promote Beckett in the first place. He think that maybe Beckett should have had the time to grow. He needed to do something about Beckett and Montgomery soon. Both needed a huge wake up call and soon. The mayor had sent Montgomery out of the room. Mayor and Commissioner were both looking at Emily. "Captain Castle, I hate to ask this of you. But I think, you maybe the only one who could help us." Emily was wondering where this was going. "What is it, you mayor and commissioner are asking of me?" Both of them are looking at her at same time. The commissioner said; "I believe that Captain Montgomery could learn a lot from you. He doesn't understand, what it means to be a good captain. Maybe by watching how you do things at your precinct. He could learn a great deal from you." The mayor took over next, "detective Beckett should also see how a real lead detective does their job too. We were thinking about sending them to your precinct for a few weeks. What do you say Captain Castle, are you in or out."

Emily had to think over everything, "gentlemen, I'll give both of them a chance. But if they both don't listen to anything I say and do then both of them are gone."
