Hi Ed I was just wondering how Olivia was. Noah is missing her and Aaron is missing you as well but they do know you are looking after Olivia. Lucy says" I'm making them is spaghetti bolognese for dinner, which is Noah's favourite to cheer them up. They told me to tell you that they love you both.'

Tears welled up in Ed's eyes as he listened to Lucy's message. He was outside grabbing some air and his phone had finally got a strong enough signal to pick up the voicemail.

Listening to her words, Ed thought back to the time when his ex never told him about Aaron he never got to see him crawl or walk and he never got to hear his first word.

It had taken five years of putting up barriers and shutting out the world for Ed to feel whole again. But then Olivia had arrived in his life suddenly Ed was being the strong one and having to look after her. He knew he loved Olivia, it almost scared him how much but not almost as much as when he'd almost lost her a few days ago. That had almost torn him apart.

Olivia had been asleep when Ed had gone outside, but she was awake now. Staring out the window, she was absentmindedly lost in her thoughts and didn't hear the knock at the door.

'Miss Benson?'

Hearing a strange voice, Olivia was snapped out of her thoughts on Ed and saw a blonde woman in the doorway.

'Yes?'

'This just arrived for you at reception. A porter just bought it up. The young man was adamant that you see it'

She came over and handed Olivia a letter before turning to leave. Olivia recognised the handwriting on the envelope and her heart stopped dead. Her hand shaking, she gingerly opened it, afraid it might sprout wings and attack her.

'Mr Tucker... I can't let you in there'

'What? Why? Is it Olivia... has something happened?'

'Nothing medical no...'

'What's going on?'

Ed had arrived back on the ward to see the doctor emerging from Olivia's side room. Worried he'd hurried over, but the doctor had put a hand up, and he'd stopped instantly confused and perplexed.

'Doctor?'

'I can't tell you Mr Tucker, confidentiality.'

'What? Is she okay? She wouldn't mind you telling me...'

'Well I think she.would. Mr Tucker, Olivia is very distressed and she is my top priority at the moment. I cannot let you in'

'Why?'

'Because Miss Benson doesn't wish to see you. And that is all I can say.'

'Olivia...doesn't want to see me?'

'Unfortunately not.'

In that moment, Ed's heart broke into a million pieces and lay on the ground so anyone could trample on it even more. Why didn't Olivia want to see him? What had gone wrong? Had he done something?

'Why?'

'I don't know. She just asked that I pass on a message'

'Message?'

'That she is sorry and as soon as she is better she will take Noah and get out of your hair. And thank you for looking after Noah'

'That's it?'

'That's it Mr Tucker"

'I don't understand'

The only person who knew why was Olivia and at the moment, she was in such a state she couldn't string a single sentence together. The letter lay under her pillow, it had turned herbworld upside down.

She had done what she had to do- being brave wasn't an option anymore. For the picture of Ed, Aaron and Noah with the message had rendered her completely paralysed with fear

'Stay single, stay quiet and they stay safe'
