Shizuo groaned as he walked. He cupped his hands together and blew warm breath into them. Only one hand got the warmth since the other was still in his armor. He rubbed them together then tucked them into his coat pocket. He let out a heavy sigh.
The blond walked across the main hold. He decided he'd take his sweet time. His body was feeling numb. He couldn't feel his fingers or toes. He might have frostbite. It wouldn't be a surprise if he did. He'd need to meet the medical droid to look at him. But the lack of heat gave him a lack of motivation. He didn't want to move too quick. He truly just wanted to curl under a blanket over a heating pad.
He needed to check the Jedi first. If he was okay, they've to take him to the brig. However, the Interceptor didn't have a brig, so they'd need to put him somewhere else. Somewhere far away from the escape pod. The captain's quarters would probably be the best option.
Shizuo let out a sigh. 'What am I going to do with him? I can't kill him now unless he tries to run for it. But if we keep him alive he'll be tortured...'
He glowered at the floor.
'Lord Malgus won't have mercy on him. That Jedi's going to be begging for death.'
His stomach clenched. The memories came flooding back once again. The young Jedi girl, looking to be as old as Shizuo at the time—who was nineteen or so—had been ripped to shreds. She was barely breathing, her flesh was singed beyond recognition. Her eyes were missing, multiple of her fingers had been removed. Whatever information they had tried to extract from her, she could no longer tell them. It became clear to Shizuo that either the Jedi was tight-lipped, or they stopped caring about what she had to say. It was clear that they continued to torture her, not because they had to, but because they wanted to. Because they could.
Shizuo didn't want to witness that again. He didn't want to see anyone go through that again. He should kill the Jedi now—as a mercy. He couldn't let him suffer needlessly, even if he was a spy. Even if he had a goldmine of information in his head, Shizuo had to let him die in peace.
The blond was ready to do that. He was ready to kill the Jedi that just saved his life. The only other option was to let him escape and Shizuo certainly wasn't going to do that. There was no way he could let the bastard go. Not after what he did. At the end of it all he was a Sith, so he would gladly kill a Jedi. He wasn't about to betray the Sith for a slimy spy. But he would give him an honorable death.
Shizuo arrived to the medbay. He let out a sigh before clicking the button to open the door.
"Kasuka, how is—"
Shizuo fell silent as his eyes stretched wide. Kasuka and the Jedi were gone. Whats more, the medical droid was destroyed, lying on the ground with sparks flying from it. Shizuo's blood turned to ice as fear filled his being.
'The Jedi got out. He has Kasuka!'
Shizuo quickly turned around and ran out of the room.
"KASUKA!" Shizuo yelled. "KASUKA, WHERE ARE YOU?!"
There was no response.
'The escape pod. He has to be heading to the escape pod!'
The blond turned and ran, making haste towards the access hatch of the ship.
"My brother will kill you when he finds us." The stone-faced Sith said, walking into the small hall leading to the boarding ramp. "He has an explosive temper, especially when someone threatens me."
"Well, then don't give me any reason to kill you. Then both of ours lives will be easier." Izaya said.
The Jedi was holding a saber towards Kasuka's back, keeping him from doing anything suspicious. The Sith seemed very complacent as he walked. He wasn't looking over his shoulder or around himself for an escape. He walked with confidence and an eerily calm face. Honestly, he creeped Izaya out. His eyes were devoid of emotions, looking no different than the eyes of a dead fish. He hated dead fish eyes.
Kasuka led him towards the escape pod, which on the Interceptor was also the boarding ramp and access hatch. Izaya didn't question that. He had seen plenty of ships where the escape pods were the cockpit or the loading bay. A ship like this certainly wouldn't have escape pods, but just one escape pod that'll detach from the ship. That would make Izaya's escape even easier than he thought. With that kind of pod, he should be able to navigate it and drive it like any other small ship, instead of sitting dead in the water once the small amount of fuel ran out.
The two left the hallway and entered the small jetway to the escape pod.
"Don't kill me." Kasuka stated.
Izaya chuckled. "Groveling now, huh?"
"That's not it." The man looked over his shoulder. "If you kill me, my brother will kill you. And my brother hates violence, so I don't want him to do that on my account."
Izaya held back a laugh. "A Sith who hates violence? That is a very poor joke."
"It is true." The Sith faced front. "I often thought my brother wasn't suited to be a Sith. He is a strong person, but he doesn't like hurting people."
Izaya scoffed. "I can say for certain he was happy to hurt me earlier when he threw a crate at my head. So, I'm not inclined to believe you."
"You tried to kill us."
"And I saved your brothers' life. So, lets call it even and go our separate ways." Izaya smiled.
The man looked back at him with his dead eyes. His expression didn't change.
"KASUKA!" Shizuo yelled.
Izaya jolted and looked over his shoulder.
"WHERE ARE YOU?! TALK TO ME!"
"Don't say a word." Izaya growled.
Kasuka was silent. Izaya rushed forward and grabbed his bicep, pulling him down the hall quickly. They arrived to the doors of the escape pod. He tilted the saber up, so the red blade rested just under the Sith's chin. Izaya reached out and touched the keypad by the door. It didn't open, flashing red. He glowered.
'It's coded.' Izaya acknowledged. 'Why? Who codes the boarding ramp?'
"Open the doors." Izaya swung Kasuka around to face the keypad.
"...Alright."
"If you take your sweet time, I'll kill you without question. If I'm going to die either or way, might as well take another Sith with me."
Kasuka didn't respond.
Even though Izaya commanded him to do it, the raven didn't trust him. However, he had no choice. The Sith started inputting a code. Soon enough the door opened.
Since the door lock had a code, Izaya wouldn't be surprised if the escape pod did as well. What's more, with a saber in one hand and the Sith's arm in the other, he wouldn't been able to do it safely. Either he would have to turned his back on the Sith, or put his saber down. Neither were ideal. So, it was best to let Kasuka do it while he just watched over his shoulder.
With that in mind, the raven walked backwards, pulling Kasuka with him. He went to the control panel across the room, in which he turned the Sith towards it.
"Go ahead." Izaya said. "Activate the pod. If you set it to self-destruct, I'll kill you. So play nice."
Kasuka was quiet. However, he reached up and started typing on the control panel. The buttons all lit up at once. The escape pod powered up.
"KASUKA!" The brothers' voice was terrifyingly close.
Izaya looked up to see the blond come around the corner. Immediately, the raven swung Kasuka around, pressing him against his own chest and crossed the red saber over his neck. Shizuo came to a screeching stop. His eyes widened before they narrowed into a glare. His teeth clenched tightly.
"If you hurt him, I'll rip you limb from limb." Shizuo growled.
"Well, so long as you stay over there, no one will get hurt." Izaya stated.
Shizuo glared at him with enough hate to kill. Izaya heard the engine to the pod whirl to life.
"You're making a mistake." Shizuo said. "We're still in hyperspace. You won't know where the pod will come out."
"That's the idea." Izaya said.
He then tugged on Kasuka, turning him sideways to Shizuo so he could watch the blond and Kasuka could mess with the control panel.
"Turn off the code imports." Izaya stated. "Else you'll be riding with me to Republic space."
Shizuo jolted, taking a step forward. "Don't you—"
Izaya raised the saber. He heard something sizzle, in which Kasuka recoiled his head into Izaya's shoulder. He smelt burnt hair, so he knew he didn't hurt the Sith, just startled him with a little haircut. It made Shizuo jolt and take a step back.
"Turn off the code imports." Izaya commanded.
Kasuka said nothing. However, he reached over with one hand and started typing in commands.
"Are you sure you wish to turn off admin access only?" A mechanical voice asked through the comm.
Kasuka clicked a button.
"Admin access only disabled."
"Good job." Izaya said,
"I'll kill you, Jedi." Shizuo growled. "If you hurt him at all, I'll kill you."
"So long as you stay over there and he cooperates, no one will get hurt." Izaya said.
Shizuo clenched his teeth, taking on an expression that surprised Izaya. A look of fear and guilt crossed his furrowed brows as he looked from Izaya to his brother.
'I shouldn't have left Kasuka alone with him.' Shizuo thought. 'I should have stayed with them.'
The spy pushed Kasuka forward, walking with him. Shizuo jolted, but kept his feet planted where they were. Izaya looked at him, then at the control panel. He began putting in coordinates.
"This is Republic space." The mechanical voice said. "Are you sure you wish to input these coordinates?"
Izaya clicked 'yes'. The device beeped then turned green.
"Coordinates accepted."
Shizuo glared at the man with hatred. 'As if I'd let you go! After you threaten my brother...!'
The Jedi turned the saber off. In the same moment, he gave Kasuka a hard shove towards the door. He then flared his hand out. The force slammed into Kasuka's back. He groaned as he flew across the room. Shizuo jolted and immediately put his arms out. He caught his brother, however, the force of the impact knocked Shizuo off his feet as well. The two fell to the floor.
The Jedi used the force to close the door, then spun the chair around so he could sit down. He quickly started clicking buttons on the control panel.
"Kasuka!" Shizuo gave his brother a gentle shake. "Are you okay?"
"I'm alright." Kasuka groaned, sitting up. "We can't let him get away, nii-san."
Shizuo looked at him, then looked at the closed door. He looked back to Kasuka.
"Stay here." He said.
"We should take him togeth—"
"No, stay here!" Shizuo jumped to his feet. "I don't want you getting hurt again!"
He didn't wait for a response as he rushed to the door. He activated his lightsaber with one hand while the other swung out in a punch. He buried his fist into the keypad, where it sparked. The door opened.
Izaya heard that and activated his own saber. Still sitting in the seat, he turned the spinning chair around, just in time to catch Shizuo's blade. The red lights crackled against each other, illuminating their faces in bright light. They glared at each other with profound hatred.
Izaya strained to hold his saber up. His arms were shaking, while the blond didn't seem to be break a sweat. Shizuo was much stronger than Izaya, that much was a given. Izaya had already seen what he could do against metal with his bare hands, he didn't want to know what he could do with his arm. There was no way the Jedi was going to beat him in this pushing match. He had to get out of this lock.
Izaya kicked off the ground, which spun the chair. And like that, Izaya was out of the lock and was out of the way. Shizuo's saber swung straight down, tearing the control panel in half. Sparks flew. Izaya didn't notice as he swung his blade up to Shizuo's chest. The red lightsaber connected, sizzling against Shizuo's clothes. However, it immediately bounced off. Izaya's eyes widened to that. Shizuo glared down at him.
The lights flashed red and the pod doors closed. Both of them jolted as their eyes widened. Izaya looked at the sparking console.
"What have you done?" Izaya yelled.
"Me?! You're the one who moved!"
"As if I would hold still as you—"
Izaya's sentence fell off as the pod jolted backwards, shooting off into hyperspace.
