Chapter 9:

Bess and Bucky Met Each Other

Bess POV:

" What am I doing? Oh, wait...I don't know!" I said as I cried some more.

I was crying near a huge tree, the same tree that a certain someone was at. But then I heard someone else crying and it was coming from the other side of the tree. I slithered over and found Bucky crying as he sits on the ground on his knees.

" What am I doing? Which way should I go?" said Bucky.

I slithered over to him and said " Hello, there my little friend,".

Bucky yelled in surprise by my sudden appearance as he jumped back a little.

Bess { Speaking to Mort and Bucky }: And I just so happen to find Bucky crying as well.

Bucky { Talking To Bess, as he fakes coughing }: Hey, I had allergies.

Mort, Bess, and Narrator { Speaking }: Mmmm-Hmmm.

Bucky POV:

Anyway…

I landed on my back and said " Hey, who are you? And where did you come from?".

" Oh, sorry for scaring you. I'm Bess and I was about to ask you, where are you going?" asked Bess.

" Oh, someplace wonderful ma'am. Where we…," I replied.

But then I paused for a second and asked " Wait a minute, you didn't by chance catch a song I sang did ya?".

" I'm afraid I have not, darling," said Bess.

" Well, to recap. I want to be in a place outside of my homeland. I carfree place where we don't have to hide, eat acorns, nor worry," I said.

Bess POV:

My eyes widened with amazement. He was looking for the same place I was looking for. So I slithered over to him and said " A place with no worries. You're seeking for Patch Of Heaven, aren't you?".

" Patch Of Elvis?" asked Bucky.

" No, Patch Of Heaven, a place with no worries. It's also the place that I'm looking for," I said correcting him.

Bucky POV:

I beamed with joy. Hearing about this place, it just might be the place I was looking for and the perfect new home for me and my family.

" Yeah, I am looking for that place. Say you wouldn't happen to know where that place is, do ya?" I asked.

" I'm afraid not. But in order for you to find it you must look beyond what you see," said Bess remembering what Zecora has taught her.

" What does that suppose to mean?" I asked.

" It means my friend. Look beyond what you see," said Bess trying to make it clear.

" Beyond What I See? Hmmm, hey why don't we look beyond what we see together?" I asked.

" Couldn't hurt," said Bess.

Then we started looking beyond what we see together.

" Beyond What We See," I said as I looked to my left and see a toad standing on a rock ribbiting.

" Hmmm, Beyond What We See," said Bess as she looks to her right and sees a small rock formation.

" Beyond What We See," I said as I looked to the left again and see a large tree behind the frog.

Then I said as I started scratching my head " Oh, this is sort of hard, Bess,".

" Come on, Bucky. Don't give up now," said Bess.

" Beyond What We See," Me and Bess said in unison as we looked between the objects and saw something that caught our eyes.

" Oh, wait a second," I said excitedly.

It was the one…

" It's coming to us!" said Bess also excitedly.

The only…

" It's either we ate some plants or we're having an empathy," I said very excitedly.

The Great Red Barn!

Of course, at first, I called it something else.

" We're going to that Great Big Red House! Right?!" I said as I turned to Bess with excitement.

" Of course we are. We looked beyond what we see, right?" said Bess.

" Alright then, Dream home…," I said.

" ...Here we come," said Bess finishing my sentence.

And we were off to The Great Red Barn.
