Her Champion

Alright, everyone. This is it. The final chapter (Decided to make this the last one)... Honestly. I never thought we will make it here. But hold and behold I kept my word and I did not quit on this story. I made it to the end both of this story and this year. And man what a year it has been. But in all seriousness.

Fuck 2020. Fuck COVID and fuck all the earthquakes that happened throughout this shitty year. And it really was a really really REALLY shitty year.

But I can`t say that all of it was bad. I mean... It made me come back and write here again. And it has been like what... 6 years since I last posted something on this website. Back when I was still in middle school. And look at me now. Honestly, I never thought that I will get so many people to read the crap that I write. But I am glad to know that so many of you actually do take the time to read my work, it really means a lot to me you know.

But enough of me renting about the past and this year. This is the final chapter of Her champion. So let us enjoy it together. For one last time.

Chapter 20.

The love between the champion and his princess.

Natsu woke up with a minor headache, his back laid on something soft and comfy. His eyes opened and he finds himself staring up at the wooden ceiling, he stared a little bit before sitting up and rubbing his head to try and ease the pain away.

"Ugh..." He said while blinking in order to get his mind straight.

"So you`re finally awake Sir. Dragneel." The sound of a feminine voice entered his ear, making him look over to where it came from. He saw Kagura who seemed to just enter the room he was in walking over to him and took a seat beside his bed when she reached him.

"How are you feeling?" Kagura asked him which made Natsu`s eyes narrow in confusion. He rubbed his eyes with his hand in order to remove the tiredness from them before answering.

"Ugh... I feel a little dizzy." He said while putting his hand down with his eyes shut. In a moment he opened his eyes, he saw a hand holding a cup with what looked like bobbly water in it.

"Drink this. It will help your body recover from the drug faster." Kagura said as Natsu looked suspiciously at the offered drink but took it none the less and drunk the whole thing in one go. He could already feel his head hurting less and less.

"What happened? And where am I?" Natsu asked the oddly familiar-looking girl.

"According to my lady. You were tricked and drugged by the princess of Edolas. She wanted to encase you in a cristal that would use your magic to empower her kingdom with your magical power. Thankfully my lady arrived before they did so." Kagura answered his first question before crossing her arms in front of her chest. "And as for where you are. Well... You are in Alvarez."

At the last bit of information, Natsu`s eyes widen. He knew that Alvarez was the home of the one person he most certainly did not want to see right now. So with an angry scowl, he stood up and was about to march past Kagura and towards the door but one swift push from Kagura sent his weakened body back onto his bed.

"Stay down Dragneel. You are still too weak." She told him which made Natsu growl at her in defiance. He tried a few more times to get past her but her words possessing the truth, his body was still too weak to try and overpower her. So with a heavy sigh, he sat back down at the bed while Kagura continued to stand in case Natsu tried to get up again.

"Why am I back here? Wasn`t betraying my trust and hurting me twice not enough ha? Does your princess really enjoy seeing me suffer?" He said in a tiered and angry voice as Kagura narrowed her eyes at him. She knew of what Erza did to him, it was explained by her queen of what caused the two of them to have a fight between one another. But she believed that after today, everything will change.

"If she wanted you to suffer Dragneel... She wouldn`t have come for you in Edolas." That made Natsu look up at her in surprised confusion but he did not get any time to ask her anything since she started to walk towards the door.

She stopped in front of them before turning to him with a look that screamed impatience and annoyance.

"On your feet Dragneel. The queen wants to speak with you. Do not keep her waiting." With that, she exited the room and left Natsu with his own thoughts. He sat there thinking about what Kagura said. That Erza Berselion. The woman that lied to him more than once, the woman that made him do her bidding. Came and saved him...

Why?

...

...

Well, he was not going to get any answers laying in the bed now, will he? He stood back up, the dizziness in his head now all but gone as he made it to the door and walked out of the infirmary.

Made his way towards the throne room.

5 minutes later:

He arrived in front of the throne room doors, where the two guards stood at ready on each side of it. They give him a quick look over before opening the doors, allowing him to enter. As he walked inside he saw Irene sitting at her throne with Kagura by her side. Erza was not with them which came as a surprise to him since he expected her to be there.

Never the less. He walked until he was in the middle of the room and stood there, waiting for the queen to start.

"Greetings Natsu. I`m glad to see that you are better." Irene said in a caring voice that only came from a mother that is addressing her child. "I hope your rest was pleasant."

"You wanted to speak to me. Well... Speak." He said in a demanding voice. Not wanting to beat around the bush.

Kagura looked like she wanted to say something about his tone but a hand raise from Irene stopped her before she could say anything.

"Yes... First off. Congratulations on your victory in the Fiore Kingdom. But then again... I expect nothing less from the son of Igneel." Her words made Natsu`s eyes narrow as he listened on. "But even so you disappoint me... I would have thought of you to be smarter than to fall victim to Edolas`s princess lying words."

Natsu who took offense to that tried to say. "She was kinda to-"

"Kindness should not be mistaken for goodness Natsu," Irene said sounding like a mother scolding her child now.

Natsu let a chuckle through his nose. Thinking how hypocritical it was to hear that coming from a mother of a woman who lied to him. "Yeah? Like you would know. Your daughter is a fine example of that as well."

Kagura took a step forward at those words, making Irene stop her once again. For she knew that if she let Kagura lose, she will no doubt attack Natsu. And even in his weakened state, she was sure he would just mope a floor with her.

"I am aware of what happened between my daughter and you. And I know how you feel Natsu." Irene said in a soft tone in an attempt to calm the young man down. "For you see I know what it's like to be lied to about your loved ones. I used to act like nothing else matter but finding out what happened to my loved ones. My children... Your father... The rest of the dragons... And my husband..."

The sound of her sad tone made Natsu`s scowl soften as he listened to the queen's story.

"But before I meet my husband... I created the very magic you use. With the elements, I molded this magic into living beings. Your father and the rest of the dragons, they were my first children and I loved them all dearly... One day. They all left me... But one... Igneel... Your father... Was the last dragon to stay. That is until..."

"Until what..." Natsu said wanting to know what happened.

"Until the people betrayed him... The people that he protected started calling him a monster, an ill omen, something that should be put down like an animal... This caused Igneel to become violent. He burned the villages, ate the people that wronged him, and filled his heart with anger." Irene said as her mind raced back to the distant past. "But even after all of that I still loved him like my own son... He was still one that I created and the one that I am very proud of..."

"When he finally had enough of humans. He too left me... And over the years I wondered where he was and what was he doing..." Irene continued as her eyes focused on Natsu. "And then the answer came in a form of his adopted son... My grandson."

Natsu's eyes opened wide in shock at her calling him that. He didn`t know how to responded and only stood there shell shocked.

"I can only imagine how much your father cared for you Natsu... While Igneel is remembered by my people as a monster full of rage and violence. He was one of the kindest dragons I had an honor of raising." Irene said in a soft voice as a smile graced her lips. She stood up from the throne and walked over to the still shocked Natsu, who was following her movement with wide eyes.

"Years after he left. I meet Erza`s father. He became the only source of happiness in my life at that time and when he died. I fell back into the void of longing. I spent years trying to find my children. Even after Erza was born, I acted like she didn`t exist until I opened my eyes and saw a person my daughter has become. It made me regret everything I have been doing for these last couple of years" When Irene was in front of Natsu she put her hands on his shoulder and looked him dead in the eyes."Natsu... Don`t let your search blind your senses. Think back on everything you and Erza have been through this far. Remember the feelings you felt whenever you saw her smile, the times she laughed, the times she was sad. I know you can find it in your heart to forgive her... You are the son of Igneel and thus there is no doubt in my mind... That you too share his kindness."

With those words, Irene wrapped her grandson in a warm hug surprising him even more. He looked over at Kagura who had a smile on her face as she looked at two. Natsu after a while hesitantly wrapped his arm around his so-called grandmother and returned the hug. When Irene let go of she gave him a warm smile and cupped his cheek in her right hand, caressing it with motherly love.

"Go to her Natsu..."

With only a nod from a still little shocked young man. Natsu turned away from Irene and Kagura and walked out of the throne room. The eyes of the two females leaving him only when the doors closed behind him.

"Kagura..." Irene said a smile still on her face. "Send a letter to Fiore kingdom. Tell them that something special happened."

10 minutes late:

It took Natsu a good while before he found Erza`s chambers. He was wandering around the castle in a still shocked state, not really knowing where he was going until he did not run into a blonde maid that went by the name of Lucy. He soon found out that she was Erza`s own personal maid and asked her if she can lead him to her room. The blonde maid walked him through the hallways until they were standing in front of her doors which was guarded by the two guards as well. The guards did not try to stop them as Lucy knocks two times on the door softly.

"Who is it?" Erza`s voice was heard from the other side of the door.

"It`s Lucy, my lady. I have a gentleman here who wishes to see you." Lucy replied at the door to which was soon followed by the answer.

"Let them in." The guards opened the doors and let the two in. When Natsu entered the room with Lucy he took the whole room in. The four red walls that held queen-site bed in it with a pair of two nightstands on each side, six armor stands with different kinds of armors on them, a closet in the right corner of the room, 2 couch chairs by the window, and a medium-sized table with four chairs on each side. All while the floor was covered with soft furry white carpet.

He spotted Erza sitting in one of the couch chairs and to his surprise. She was not wearing her armor. Instead, she wore a white blouse, a blue mini skirt, and a pair of black boots with matching stockings. Her hair was let louse and went down to her lower back, the lunar light that shined down at her through the window made her look more majestic and beautiful.

He was so captivated by her beauty that he didn`t notice that they were now in the middle of the room and Lucy was now bowing her head. Erza without ever turning to look at them said.

"Leave us, Lucy. You and the guards are off duty for the night." She said softly.

Lucy nodded at her request and walked back to the doors. Natsu watched her leave as hers and the guard`s footsteps can be heard becoming quieter and quieter the more they walked away. Now alone with the amazon princess, Natsu turns his attention back to Erza as he walked over to the other couch chair that was right across from Erza`s and set down in it.

The two locked eyes as silence fell upon the two. Both brown and onyx eyes stared into each other, both held their gaze waiting for the other to speak.

"I`m sorry Natsu..." Erza said leaning forward in her chair. "I know that it's hard for you to believe that but I really am sorry for lying to you."

Natsu stayed silent as Erza took that as a cue to continue. "I... I`m-"

"Shut up..." Erza closed her mouth shut as Natsu let out a sigh and rubbed his eyes. When he put his hand down he to leaned forward so that Erza knew that he was serious.

"I am thankful to you for making sure I do not become a living battery. And I`m also thankful to you for bringing me back to your kingdom." He saw her eyes light up which made him say. "But don`t get the wrong idea."

He warned her with his index finger up. "Don`t take my thankfulness for forgiveness. I am still very very angry at you for what you did."

Erza`s gaze however did not fall to the ground this time, she continued to look him in the eyes while he continued speaking. "My father always said anyone everyone deserves a second chance. The same goes for actions to speak louder than words. And from what I have experienced with you thus far. You blew both of your chances and your actions speak for themselves."

He then leaned back to rest on the soft chair and looked at her with judging eyes." So tell me... Erza... Why should I forgive you for what you`ve done?"

Erza stayed quiet for a little while before biting softly on her lower lip and standing up. Natsu followed after her with his eyes as she walked over to where he seat until she was right in front of him, looking him down from where she stood. But not in her usual higher standing gaze but with a soft and caring one.

"Ever since I was little... I never had someone to care for me... I never had a parent that loved me... Everything in my life was thought to me by either people who only look at me because of my title or because they wanted to be in the good grace of my mother. I never had a friend or someone to care about... I was thought to be perfect in every way possible."

Her eyes searched for his reaction as he listened to her. "All of that... Was to finally get the attention of my own mother... I thought that if I earn a name for myself in this world, my mother will finally respect me, realize that I exist, and finally love me the way a mother should love her daughter."

Natsu`s expression did not change.

"When I meet you Natsu I was angry. Thinking that you were just another one of those animals that would just look at me for my body and nothing else. I even went as far as to insult your parents and lie about your father`s whereabouts."

Natsu`s eyes narrowed at that memory.

"But... As you and I spent more and more time together... I started to realize... That you are not like all the rest." She got down on one knee in front of him and took his right hand in both of hers. "You are kind, caring, and honest. You never once tried to take advantage of me for my title, you were always trying to get me to laugh whenever you had a chance, you were always honest with your words... Even if sometimes you do get annoying."

Natsu`s eyebrow raised but Erza then smiled at him which made his stoic and angry face melt away slowly replaced with the look of surprise. "And most of all... You made me feel happy. You made me smile... Something I haven`t done in a long time."

She let go of his hand and moved towards him more. Natsu was surprised by her action and moved back so that his back was resting against the softback rester of the chair while Erza climbed up into the chair. Her legs went to either side of his thighs, her chest coming almost touching with his as her head came so close to his their noses were almost touching. Natsu could feel her hot breath on his lips and jawline as she fully set down in his lap, straddling him. Her hands rest on his shoulders as she looked into his eyes with a strange spark in her own eyes that Natsu never saw her have.

"But more so you made me feel something I never thought I`ll get a chance to feel." She whispered to him as her right hand moved to cup his left cheek while her left moved to the right side of his neck, she gently caressed those areas before slowly moving her head closer to Natsu`s.

"And that feeling... Is love..." With those words said. Erza captured his lips with hers. Natsu sat there wide-eyed and shocked at what was happening. He expected her to just apologize and sent him on his way to look for Igneel but... Love?

Love... Love... He remembered that he used to say to his father how much he loved him. But he doubts that it was that kind of love Erza was talking about. So... What other love was there? As his mind was working on this Erza pulled back from the kiss and looked at his surprised expression and waited for him to respond. She waited for a good ten seconds before calling him out softly. "Natsu?"

In Natsu`s mind, he was remembering what Igneel told him just before he left. He told him how to recognize his desired mate. He talked about feeling warm in his heart, feeling satisfied when he sees his mate happy and most of all he would feel safe in his mate's arms. Natsu looked at Erza`s expecting face and the more he looked at her the more warmth he felt embrace his heart, he felt really satisfied from seeing her smile and those soft arms that caressed his cheek and neck. He felt like he wanted them to hold him forever.

Natsu`s eyes then widen more, this time with realization. That Erza was his desired mate and the one his heart wanted. He blinked his surprise away as Erza pulled slightly back away from him but was surprised when a pair of strong arms wrapped around her lower back and pulled her back to him.

"Eeehh!" She yelped out in surprise before her lips were once again meet with Natsu`s soft ones. Her eyes opened wide from Natsu`s sudden kiss, she looked at his face and find his eyes closed seemingly enjoying the kiss. Her gaze soon softens as she too closed her eyes and wrapped her arms around his neck, enjoying the kiss as well.

"Mmm... She/he tastes like strawberry/meat..." They thought individually as they pulled back away for much-needed air. They breathe in the air into their lungs as they held onto each other like the other was going to disappear if they let go.

"So... Do my action speak louder or my words," Erza asked as her hand ran through the soft hair that was on the back of Natsu`s head. Twirling some of the longer lock between her fingers.

"That was... Wow..." Natsu said out of breath as he nuzzled his head on her chest, enjoying the softness of her breasts. Erza even tho she would kill a guy if he ever tried to even look at her breasts, but since this was Natsu she let him do as he pleased as she only tightens her embrace on him.

Igneel told me the day before he disappeared that we dragon slayers find mates by the way of how we feel for them. And you Erza make me feel warm, happy, and safe. Which are the main indicators for dragon slayers mate."

"Really?" Erza asked surprised.

"Yeah! Plus when we find our desired mates we love them for eternity and can not fall in love with anyone else." He explained the rest with a smile on his face. Erza however started to cry which made Natsu panic, thinking he has upset his mate.

"Ahh! Erza what`s wrong? Did I say something?"

"No... It`s just..." Her lips turned upwards in a teary happy smile. "I am just so happy... That I will forever be your only one... Oh, Natsu!" She leaned forward and connected her lips with his again, making him lean back in the chair from her sudden small pounce. But never the less returned the kiss with equal passion and love.

"And... I... Am...Only... Yours... Erza..." He said in between the kisses as Erza assaulted his lips with a short barrage of them. She then gave him a confidant smirk before saying "Damn right you are..." And the two went back to their make-out season.

Erza kept smiling as she too closed her eyes and snuggled closer to him. Feeling happiness and safety within his strong arms as sleep soon took her away. But not before saying her own peace.

"Good night my champion. I love you too."

Well now... I think it went pretty well. Now some clearing to do. The reason I decided to end on this chapter. Was that the last one was going to talk about what will happen after their night of lovemaking. But I decided against it... Because I'm lazy. Anyway, I did it. Now here are some questions that you guys should probably know the answers to.

Am I happy with the way the story turned out?

No... I am not. Because I feel like it could have been way better. And I know why is that. Whenever I start a story that I want to write about I usually have a start, the main event, and the end planned out already in my mind. But when I get in the middle of my stories. I just... lose myself. I know it sounds weird but it is true. I get no inspiration over the building process of the story and I end up writing whatever word pops in my head.

Which ruins the quality of my stories. So because of that, I am not too satisfied with how it begin but I am happy with the ending.

Do I feel like this story could do better?

Honestly yes. If anyone of you who is reading this liked the idea and believe that you can do better. Go ahead and make it better I would love to see this idea be made into the great story it deserves. Not this disaster it turned out to be. So please if someone likes this idea of Natsu and Erza as a princess and slave. Please PM if you start with it. I would really love to read it from someone who actually knows how to write a story.

And that is about it. I really only had those two questions to get off my mind. This is sorta like my Christmas present to all of you who stayed with this story to the end. Thank you all so much for following, favoriting, and reviewing Her Champion. Your support means a lot to me.
