Outside, Bunny, Sandy, the Tooth Fairy, Jack Frost and North were battling against Silence. He didn't have a true form, but was a conglomeration of dark tendrils and a pair of glowing eyes. He was very slippery as they chased him around the mansion and into the forest. He was also getting weaker by the minute so they knew that the girl inside must have succeeded in breaking the man's belief in him. Suddenly their attention was drawn to a rumbling and the snow that had built up at the top of the mountain came cascading down heading straight for the house. There was nothing they could do to stop it.
One moment Moira was standing in the study while a saddened Mr. Hunsen reluctantly unlocked the door. The next moment she was thrown forward to the ground as the walls around her exploded. Glass shattered, debris went sailing and then there was the coldness of snow all around her. It encompassed her like a thick heavy blanket and Moira struggled to stay awake.
The avalanche and rocks that fell from the mountain top destroyed the entire mansion, many of the trees around it and covered the paved road in feet of snow. Luckily for them, the avalanche finally leveled out and stopped a few feet from the first residence at the base of the mountain.
Moira stood on top of the snow where the mansion used to be. The moonlight was shining down on her brightly. There were no injuries on her and the dress she still wore was in perfect condition. The Guardians approached her as she stared up at the moon. She finally glanced at them. "We won. Chaos wasn't created and Silence is diminished," she said. "At least that's what he says." She glanced back up at the moon. "My name is Moira, but you can call me Lady Luck." The Guardians introduced themselves in return.
"Are you a Guardian?" asked Jack Frost curiously.
"No, I simply helped you today," said Lady Luck shaking her head. "The thing about luck is that it can be given, but it can also be taken away. Besides, more than just children believe in luck." She turned her attention to the town below. "I'm glad none of them were harmed."
"You remember your memories," said the Tooth Fairy sadly.
"Yes, I didn't lose them when I became what I am," replied Lady Luck looking down at her hands. "Whether that's lucky or not, I'm sure I'll find out in the future."
"Would you like to come with us?" asked Jack extending his hand.
"For now," said Lady Luck taking his hand.
North tossed one of his globes and Jack led her inside the portal. The remaining Guardians went through and the portal shut.
The moonlight shown bright on the snow covered mountain as more snow fell covering everything in a white glittering haze.
