TRIVIA: I know it's a stretch, but any idea on what's going on at the end? Have any ideas that the second part will be about? I've set the entire next story up, so hopefully it's an easy guess!
?-?
"We haven't found any fires anywhere on the premises." The officer said when Jack and Troy got to the airport.
"Did you check in every hangar?" Jack asked.
"No." He sheepishly said.
"Let's go!" He said, jumping into a police car nearby. They went into every hangar, but found nothing, until the fifth one that they pulled up to.
"Jack!" Sue exclaimed, seeing the large doors open, and her fiancé walk through. Her sight was obstructed by flames, but she'd know him anywhere.
Jack worriedly looked at the enclosing circle. It was getting closer to her and Nathan by the second.
"Here!" The officer said, throwing two fire retardant blankets at him. Encased themselves, they both ran through the fire, wrapped the two in the other blankets, then ran outside, to safety. Once out, other officers and firemen went inside to put out the fire.
"Another minute or two, we wouldn't've been able to do this." The officer grimly said.
Jack glared at him, then hugged Sue more, grateful that he was masked, and they both couldn't understand a word. Sue was gently sobbing into his shoulder, thankful that God had heard their prayers.
"OK YOU?" He signed when she looked at him.
She nodded, wiping away the tears. "He's getting away." She distractedly said.
"Arif's somewhere here. He can't go anywhere." He replied to the men around them.
"Did you say 'Arif', as in Arif Dessa?" She asked.
"Yeah, you didn't recognize him?" He asked, confused.
Sue searched her brain. "The eyes!" She exclaimed. "You can change a face, but never the eyes!"
"Are you saying he had plastic surgery again?" He asked. Sue nodded. He winced. "We're looking for the wrong man. We didn't know that."
"I can ID him, if you find him." She said.
"THANK YOU." Jack signed. "But it's 'when'." He said, then went to talk with the officers in charge. Sue went to see how Nathan was doing.
"OK YOU?" She signed when Nathan looked at her.
He nodded. "THINK."
She slightly smiled. "THANK GOD."
"ME TOO." He replied.
?-?
"Thank you Jesus!" Mya exclaimed, hanging up.
"Sue is safe?" Bobby asked.
"Yes! But we have one hitch." She replied.
"What now?" Myles asked, exacerbated.
"Arif had plastic surgery again. I'm searching the security footage now. We know he was the maintenance man, so hopefully he was dumb enough to not hide from the camera." She explained. "Got you." Mya said, smiling as she sent the photo to Jack.
?-?
"That's him!" Sue exclaimed, seeing Arif on the other side of the runway. They were standing around one car to create their attack plan when she saw him slinking in the shadows.
Jack motioned for the officers to surround him. "Arif, it's over." He called.
"It never will be over!" He exclaimed.
"Well, it is, at least for now." He said, walking towards him, the officers surrounding Arif, and arresting him. There were too many officers, compared to one man, so thankfully he reluctantly surrendered.
Once he was handcuffed and safely in a car, Jack walked back to Sue, slightly smiling through his clear mask. "FINISH."
Sue gratefully smiled, putting her arm around him when he got close. "I knew I knew those eyes from somewhere. I just wish I could've placed them."
"You couldn't've known." He replied when she looked at him.
"No, but I did know that the feeling I felt all week was him watching us." She replied.
"It was?"
She nodded.
"Well, we're safe now. How about we go to our hotel, get a good night's sleep, and get on that plane tomorrow morning?" He suggested.
"As much as that sounds so nice, I'm not quite sure how much sleep we'll get. Too much stress today!"
"UNDERSTAND." He replied. "Ben will be here in a few minutes to pick us all up."
Sue sleepily nodded as they walked to the entrance, where Troy and Nathan were already waiting.
Jack smiled. She would be sound asleep in the car. He was grateful for that, and that she was safe. "Thank you, God." He whispered.
?-?
Like Jack predicted, Sue did nap the entire ride home, but she was wide awake as soon as everyone settled down and went to bed. She tossed and turned for a couple hours, but then gave up and got up. She carefully opened the door to the guys' room and tiptoed to Jack's bed, touching him on the shoulder.
"Wazawhat?" He exclaimed, startled, seeing Sue's shadow.
Seeing movement, but not seeing him because it was too dark, she quietly said, "I couldn't sleep, and I don't want to be alone." With that, she walked back to her room.
Jack sighed, getting up and following her. He found her sitting at the small table in her room. "I hope you're not going to do this all the time to me." He said, slightly smiling, when she looked at him.
She slightly smiled back. "I just don't want to be alone. I can't imagine how Nathan's feeling." She said as Jack sat across from her.
"He'll overcome it, the same as you will." He replied.
She smiled widely. "With you by my side, I most definitely will. Now, distract me please!"
Jack smiled and complied, the couple talking about everything, everything except what happened that day.
?-?
"Hey, did anyone figure out who hacked the computer system?" Sarah asked the next morning as she came into the bullpen to find everyone already at work. She was surprised, after everything that happened the night before, and that no one went home till last night from being at the office for several days straight.
"That's the precise thing I'm working on now." Mya said, slightly distracted by what she was reading.
"And we need to find that last prisoner as well." Myles reminded everyone.
"Hopefully we can wrap this all up before Jack and Sue land." Bobby added.
"Don't you think you're being a bit too optimistic?" Myles complained.
Bobby shrugged. "Someone has to." Myles glared at him.
"Alright, boys. How about we get to work?" Sarah asked, trying to get everyone back on track.
"I will if he will." Bibby said, pointing with his head at Myles.
"Well, I will if he will!" Myles replied.
"OK, how about this? 3 2 1, get to work!" Mya exclaimed.
The two men grumbled, complying. Mya smiled. It worked. It actually worked. She would have to remember that for next time.
?-?
Sue, Jack, Troy and Ben were sitting in the terminal, waiting for their plane. Sue sighed, leaning into Jack, who was napping. It was a long night for both of them. It would be good to be back home soon.
"ME HAPPY US-FIVE SAFE." Ben signed to his brother.
"ME HAPPY SAME." Troy replied.
The two brothers smiled, happy that home was only a plane ride away.
?-?
"I got it!" Mya exclaimed. The third prisoner, Nick Sorrentino's brother hacked the system."
"To free his brother, I suppose." Myles replied.
"Luckily, he lives in Virginia, not too far away." She added.
"And his newfound friends as well?" Sarah suggested.
"Did you ever find any connection to Arif to either of them?" Bobby asked.
"Not to Nick. He was a pilot before he went rogue." Mya replied.
"Well, let's go talk to the brother. Maybe he'll know more." Myles said, getting up, Bobby following him.
?-?
"I'm so glad we're finally going home." Sue said as they were waiting in line to get on the plane.
"ME-TOO." Jack signed as they were allowed onto the plane. They found their seats, and settled in. They were seated about in the middle, and could see the goings-on of the entire plane. After everyone had settled in, the plane started moving, getting ready to take off. Soon, they were in the air, getting ready to relax for the two hour or so flight.
Sue frowned, looking at the hostesses. The curtain was halfway open, and they were not wearing their masks at that particular moment.
Jack touched her shoulder. "WRONG WHAT?" He signed.
She held up her finger, going back to looking at the hostesses. "Something's wrong." She whispered.
?-?
"Charles Sorrentino, FBI!" Bobby called, banging on the door. The door squeaked open an inch. They took that inch to bang the door down, Bobby throwing Charles into the wall, his hands behind his back. "Where's your brother?" He yelled when he found him, hiding in a bedroom.
"Ch- ch-." He stuttered.
"Where!" Bobby yelled louder.
"Chicago!" Charles finally blurted. The two agents looked at each other, worried.
