Chapter 10

Eddie had organised a night out for all the staff at the local pub on the Friday that had followed. Rachel had given ben some money to get a take out as Rachel was eating at the pub.

After a few hours 8pm was approaching and many staff members had left to go home especially those with children like Kim. The few that were left were scattered around the pub in little groups, a lot of giggling and laughing was going on.

Rachel was sat on a much quieter table by the window where Eddie sat by her. Rachel had drunk a good six glasses of wine and could say she was a little tipsy. Eddie on his 3rd pint wasn't much better. Rachel leaned against the back of the bench seat and had one leg crossed over the other, Eddie sat opposite, the two just talking, with occasion laugh and joking.

After a few more moments, a silence fell upon them as they both took a sip of their drinks. Out of no where Eddie piped up "Would it be wrong of me to ask you back to my flat for another drink?"

Rachel thought for a moment looking at her watch "No it wouldn't" She smiled "But we will have to get a taxi, we can't drive in this state"

Eddie nodded gathering up his belongings and downing his last inch of pint left. Rachel did that same and got her coat on. After saying goodnight to a few of the teachers that were at tables on their way out, her and Eddie walked outside waiting for a taxi.

"You know" Rachel swallowed starting "I've missed you" She said looking at him and locking eyes.

Eddie swallowed not expecting those words to be uttered by Rachel, also knowing how much they had drunk, Eddie just smiled "I've missed you too" He said facing her.

Rachel was about to speak when the cab pulled up. The pair of them getting into the taxi on the back seat, Eddie gave his address and the taxi began the drive. As they sat in the cab there hands that were leaning on the middle seat slowly edge closer as they touched sending a spark down both their bodies.

Eddie made the first move going straight in and holding her hand fully. Rachel sat there like a little teenager and grinned. Eddie looked at her and laughed. Eventually the taxi pulled up outside the block of flats, both of them got out and walked towards Eddie's ground floor flat their connected hands swinging together as they walked.

Eddie let go of her hand as they reached his door. He unlocked it and turned the lights on letting Rachel in and closing the door behind her. Both of them looking straight at one and other.

"Drunk sex?" Rachel asked forwardly dropping her bag knowing she needed this.

"You read my mind" he said forgetting all about Rachel's husband and leaning and finally their lips connected sharing a passionate moment together. Eddie wrapped his arms around Rachel and lead her to the bedroom. Rachel meanwhile was taking brief breaks from the kiss already fiddling with Eddies shirt buttons. Once reaching the end of his double bed, Eddie pushed her onto the bed taking off his main jacket, Rachel following.

"You do not realise, how hard I've had to restrain myself" Eddie laughed.

"Oh me too" Rachel smiled forgetting the lie she told Eddie and undoing her blouse and throwing it to one side. Eddie looked at her in Awe.

"Well those have certainly got bigger to what I remember" Eddie said his eyes practically popping out his head. Her scar was still very much visible, even with her bra on, but had faded in recent years after many skin graphs. Rachel chuckled to herself standing up off the bed removing the remainder of her clothes leaving her in just her matching bra and knickers thanking the lord she picked a matching set that morning.

Eddie stripped down to his boxers and crawled onto the bed on top of Rachel and placing kisses from her stomach eventually landing on her lips of her face where they shared a passionate kiss. Eddie took control flipping them over making Rachel shriek in excitement. After fiddling for a good five minutes, Rachel chuckled sitting up and helping him take her bra off.

"You are beautiful" Eddie said looking at her.

Rachel leaned down as their bodies touched "you are beautiful too" she smiled placing a long kiss on his lips. "Someone is excited" She chuckled feeling him close by.

Eddie chuckled also as he shuffled from under Rachel and moved his boxers, Rachel removing the remainder of her underwear as the event started passionately and quickly.

After there close encounter, Rachel and Eddie were lay side by side, Rachel's arm draped over eddies bare chest as she lay her head on his shoulder, eddies arm was holding Rachel close as the duvet covered most of their bodies. It was a good couple of hours since the last drink and both were starting to sober up.

"We shouldn't of done this" Rachel said remembering the lies she had to keep up. She sat up holding the duvet to her chest.

Eddie sat up by her not knowing what to say.

"I'm married Eddie, I'm sorry" Rachel said getting up.

"Rach" He said holding her arm stopping her from moving. "I'm sorry, I didn't want to force you"

"You didn't it was a mutual agreement" Rachel said picking up her phone on the side "eight missed calls, I need to go" she said sheepishly dropping the duvet and beginning to collect and put on her clothes one by one. "See you Monday" she said quietly as she moved out the house leaving Eddie in bed.

Rachel returned home to find another car in her drive and the front door open. Rachel frowned as she got out the taxi and began the walk up the short drive to the front door.

"excuse me who are you?" Rachel asked as a man stood there.

"It's my dad rach, I'm sorry I couldn't tell you, he doesn't live far from here" Ben said putting a bag on the doorstep.

Rachel sighed "it would have been nice for you to tell me ben"

"I know I'm sorry, I didn't realise how close he lived, I'm sorry to have messed you around"

"No don't apologise, you phone me if you need anything, either of you" Rachel smiled hugging ben and shaking hands with his dad. "look after him"

"It wasn't my choice to leave him the first time" He chuckled and took Bens bags and went to his car.

Rachel smiled weakly. "You be safe now Ben please"

"And you auntie Rach, thank you for this week"

"Your welcome anytime" Rachel smiled as she stepped inside and watched as Ben got into the car and drove off with her dad. Rachel shut the door behind her and leaned against her front door. What a week, and now back to the empty house she called home, the silence of house, barely the sound of the fridge could be heard. She sighed loudly dropping her keys onto the side followed by her bag and went into the lounge and slumped on the sofa flicking through the channels.

After a few minutes she settled on the repeat of Bridget Jones and stood up taking off her jacket and curled up on the sofa. One thing Rachel hated was silence, she knew moving here would be difficult, but not this difficult. Rachel got her phone from the table in front of her and text kim.

I slept with Eddie…xx

As if an automatic response her phone pinged.

NO WAY! Xx

Rachel chuckled to herself allowing a smile to creep on her face.

Yeah and Ben's gone back to his dads, but staying at the school, I hate the silence xx

After a few more texts backwards and forwards it was time to call it a night.
