Loud Murphy's Law
A Loud's Note
Theme Song
Look at that sun, Look at that sky,
Look at my polo shirt I look so fly
Look at that mailbox, Look at that tree,
It's about as big as my family.
WHOA!
Today is gonna be exceptional.
Never boring even for a minute,
It's the loud house and we're all living in it!
WHOA!
(We're all living in it)
WHOA!
Never boring even for a minute,
It's the loud house and we're all living in it!
Lincoln had just finished getting off a school bus with Ronnie Anne, Clyde and Lisa. The weird part was that he was having some trouble moving his backpack.
"My backpack sure is heavy today" Lincoln said as he dragged his backpack across the floor to his friends.
"Oh please. It is not like you are carrying osmium" Lisa said as everyone gave her a raised eyebrow, not understanding what she had just said.
"Osmium is the densest element." Lisa said as everyone oooh'd at the explanation.
"Well you're right. I'm not carrying osmium. I'm carrying my doctor's note." Lincoln said as he pulled out a stack of papers from his backpack. He then went on to explain it.
"The school let's me turn it in in bulk at the end of the month. That way, the doctor only has to sign the signature page instead of all the individual excuses. And it's easy to catalog the excuses since Lisa keeps a record of every Murphy's Law occurrence." Lincoln explained.
"You do that?" Clyde asked Lisa.
"Yes. I do it so we can prepare for any new dangers of Murphy's Law, as well as buy new items to assist us in surviving it" Lisa said.
"Yeah. And thank goodness too. Lame-O's been through some crazy things." Ronnie Anne said.
"The kangaroos, the tangerine fight, the asteroid, The llama incident" Lisa said while counting incidents on her fingers.
"Lori even sends me some pictures of them." Ronnie Anne said as she pulled out her phone and showed Clyde a picture.
"Mount Vesuvius?! How long is her selfie stick?!" Clyde asked, utterly shocked by the image he was shown.
"Well the point is I keep a record of the situations my brother's condition gets him into. And that helps too since it's important to not be marked absent from school" Lisa said.
"Yeah. I just got to turn these in today or else I'll have a month of unexcused absences and-" Lincoln said before being stopped by someone holding a stop sign.
"Stop, Lincoln" The guy named Eliot said as he pushed a button on his stop sign, causing it to turn and reveal the words "Lincoln" on the other side.
"How do you stop people who aren't named Lincoln?" Clyde asked.
"Obviously he doesn't turn the sign around" Lisa said as everyone oooh'd at the notion.
"Yeah. Besides, there's only one person in this town I need to stop and his last name is Loud." Eliot said, scolding Lincoln. Lincoln just eye rolled at this.
"You know, that name seems way too coincidental given how big your family is. Did your parents change it to Loud?" Clyde asked.
"It's our grandmother's maiden name" Lisa said.
"Eliot, can't I have one day where I don't get bombarded by you?" Lincoln asked annoyed.
"No! You have to do as I say! And as the newly appointed public safety Czar-" Eliot started before being cut off by Clyde.
"Your badge says volunteer crossing guard" Clyde said as he pointed to a blue badge on his uniform.
"And this one says ask me about my strawberry waffle supreme." Ronnie Anne said as she pointed to a different badge.
"They're quite tasty and they're half off this week." Eliot said.
"Well as amazing as that sounds, which it doesn't, we have to get to school" Lincoln said as he and his friends started to walk away.
"I have my eye on you Loud. I never rest. In fact I sleep with this very sign!" Eliot said as everyone turned around and gave him a confused glance.
"If you don't rest, how do you sleep?" Ronnie Anne asked.
"Very restlessly." Eliot replied as everyone oooh'd at the answer.
"I must admit, despite my abnormally high IQ, even I did not see that one coming." Lisa said, somewhat complimenting Eliot. After she said this, a truck drove by and caused the front page of the doctor's notes to fly off. They all screamed in horror and shock at what just happened.
"Without that signature page, you'll have a month of unexcused absences!" Lisa yelled in a slightly worrying tone.
"You might even have to repeat the 5th grade!" she continued as she threw her arms in the air when she yelled.
"Relax. All we gotta do is get that doctor's note and we'll be fine" Lincoln said, not worried in the slightest about losing it.
"Wait how though? It could be anywhe-oh here it is" Clyde said as he looked down to see the paper was on the sidewalk by his feet. He reached down to try and grab it, only for a group of bikers to ride by, causing a breeze to make the paper fly onto the first biker's bike. They all stared blankly for a second before Lisa broke the silence.
"Don't just stare at them you ignoramuses! After them!" She said as she ran off after the group of bikers, to which they all followed. Eliot just stood there before he yelled at them.
"I'm watching you Lincoln!" Eliot said before a kid came up from behind him.
"So, strawberry waffles?" the kid asked as Eliot sighed.
"They're quite tasty and half price this week" he said with his head down to the floor.
"Biker gang! Could you slow down?!" Lincoln yelled to the bikers, but they were going so fast that they didn't hear him.
"I don't think you call them a gang!" Ronnie Anne said.
"What do you call them then? A gaggle?" Lincoln said as he looked to Ronnie Anne while still chasing them.
"I think it's a pot" Clyde said.
"That's whales. A group of bikers is referred to as a peleton" Lisa said to them to which they oooh'd in response. As they were talking, the paper flew off the bikers and toward Lincoln. He was about to grab it before a drone swooped in and got it stuck to itself.
"What even is that?" Clyde asked as he stared at the drone.
"It looks like some kind of spy drone." Ronnie Anne said with a raised eyebrow, to which Lisa scoffed at the suggestion.
"Oh please. That's preposterous." Lisa said.
2 Fbi agents were huddled in a room with a large computer screen on them that was connected to the camera of the spy drone.
"What the devil? Is that a doctor's note? Lieutenant, did you take a shortcut through the Loud sector?" The big agent asked as he looked to an agent who was typing on a keyboard.
"I'm sorry sir, I just wanted to see if my brother in law was using my lawnmower again." The agent said.
"Well? Was he?" The agent asked with curiosity.
"Yeah I got a shot of it" The other agent said as he pulled up a picture on the screen. The agent looked at it before his professional poker face became one of anger.
"Oh that makes me so mad!" He said as he gritted his teeth.
"Sir, remember what Dr. Lopez said. Just breathe" the agent said.
The paper flew off the spy drone and flew away a few feet above the ground. Lincoln and the others tried to grab it, but Ronnie Anne and Clyde tripped over garbage, while Lincoln slipped on a puddle
"I slipped in that puddle and got hit in the kisser!" Lincoln said. The paper flew over Lisa and her face became one of joy as it nearly went into her grasp.
"I've got it! I've got it!" Lisa said before the paper flew upward away from her reach. She desperately tried jumping to grab it, only to fail miserably.
"I don't got it" Lisa said with a as she looked to the floor in failure.
"Lisa don't worry. We'll get the doctor's note. We just have to keep going after it." Lincoln said with a smile as they ran after the paper. They looked to see that it had flown into an office building.
"Lincoln, wouldn't it be easier to just get your doctor to sign a new one?" Ronnie Anne said.
"We can't. He's playing golf somewhere. We'd never find him." Lincoln said. Little did they know that only a couple of yards away was a golf field.
Lori shot a golf ball and made a whole in 1 shot. A man behind her saw this and started clapping, having been impressed by her skills.
"Wow. You're really good at this." the man said.
"Well when you live with Murphy's law, you learn a few things. Speaking of which, I still can't believe you put up with all of Lincoln's excuses." Lori said as she pointed to him.
"Yeah. That kid sure is something" the man said.
"It's on the 7th floor! Come on!" Lisa said urgently as they ran into the building and raced up the stairs. When they got to a door, they opened it to see a bunch of stacked papers and their dad.
"Oh hey kids. What are you doing here?" Lynn Sr. said with a smile.
"Oh hi dad. Guess I forgot this is where my dad works." Lincoln said as he shrugged to his friends.
"Father, why is there so much paper here?" Lisa asked.
"Oh, we're gathering up a bunch of paper so we can recycle since it's an important way to-" Lynn Sr started before being cut off as a ceiling fan fell to the floor.
"Lost your doctors note again sport?" Lynn Sr. said in a knowing tone to which Lincoln nodded.
"Okay. Minor setback, but we can still find it! We just need to look everywhere!" Lisa said with a determined look.
"Lisa, why are you so focused on finding my doctors note? I though you wouldn't want to participate in such 'inane activities'." Lincoln asked her. She took a short pause before answering, something that didn't go unnoticed by Lincoln
"I just understand the importance of academic success and wish to help my brother unit in that degree. Now let's begin" Lisa said as they all ran off to look for the doctor's note.
"Good luck kids!" Lynn Sr. said as a fax machine malfunctioned and shot out a bunch of paper, to which Lynn Sr. quickly went back to his desk. The kids looked through kitchens, closets, and even toilets. But they were left with nothing. That is until Lincoln looked over to a paper that had a coffee mug on it. The paper turned out to be his doctor's note.
"Excuse me ma'm. Would you mind lifting up your coffee cup please?" Lincoln asked politely as the women proceeded to lift the mug, only for her to pick up the paper afterwards.
"Oh my gosh. This coffee stain is a perfect likeness to Abraham Lincoln! I bet it has healing powers!" The lady said as everyone gathered around the paper trying to get it. Lincoln ducked, dodged, pushed and dived through the crowd, trying to get the paper. When he was about to reach it, a shirt flew into it, flying it out the window.
"Dad!" Lincoln said as he looked Lynn Sr. who was standing by a malfunctioned T-shirt canon.
"Sorry sport!" Lynn Sr said.
Lincoln and his friends looked out the window to see that a bunch of ticker tape was falling from the sky.
"A ticker tape parade?! Seriously?!" Lisa said with gritted teeth as she held her hair with her hands in anger.
"You sure you can't get you doctor to sign a new one?" Clyde asked Lincoln.
"I told you. He's playing golf somewhere. We'd never find him." Lincoln said with a shrug.
"Look when we signed up to be Lincoln's friends we knew it was going to be difficult." Ronnie Anne said with a determined glance.
"I don't remember signing anything" Clyde said.
"Your friend is right. We need to overcome this! We've never given up against Murphy's Law and we can't give up now!" Lisa said as everyone stared blankly at her.
"You know, I'm really starting to think you care abut this note for reasons you're not telling me." Lincoln said with a suspicious glance. Lisa simply shrugged and scoffed.
"Oh please. Don't be ridiculous." Lisa said.
In the ticket tape parade, a car with 2 agents and an astronaut were driving through the parade.
"You alright up there sir?" One of the agents asked the astronaut.
"Yeah. You know what? I could go for a hamburger. They don't have hamburgers in space" The astronaut said with a big smile. Lincoln and his friends watched the astronaut drive by.
"The parade must be for that astronaut." Lincoln assumed, before being debunked by someone.
"Oh it's not for the astonaut. This parade is celebrating the 150th Anniversary of ticket tape parades." A person said.
"Wait, then what is the astronaut for?" Ronnie Anne asked with a raised eyebrow.
"They're just giving him a ride somewhere." the person said. They continued to watch as the astronaut rode away. Lisa then noticed that Lincoln's doctors note was on the astronaut's back.
"The doctor's note! It's on the astronauts back!" Lisa said as she pointed to him, to which they all looked and saw that she wasn't lying.
"You're right! Come on!" Lincoln said as everyone except for Lisa who stared blankly before a small smile appeared on her face.
"Lisa 1, Murphy's Law 0" Lisa said as she caught up to the rest of them. They eventually caught up to the astronaut.
"Hey mister astronaut! You've got my note on your back!" Lincoln said as the astronaut reached on his back and grabbed the doctor's note.
"Here you go" He said before a strong breeze blew it out of his hand and away from them. They all groaned before they went in the direction of the paper. The astronaut went back to looking forward.
"Alright sir. Let's get you that hamburger." one of the agents said.
"Thanks, cause they don't have burgers in space." The astronaut said casually.
They tried to grab the note, but it flew out of their grasp in the air. Lisa was even starting to get irritated by how weirdly the paper flew in the air. Obey the laws of physics you piece of paper!
"Lincoln! Look out!" Clyde yelled as Lincoln leaped out of the way of a street sweeper, which caught the paper. At that moment, Lincoln was starting to lose a bit of hope.
"Welp. Have fun in middle school guys." Lincoln said with a shrug.
"No! We can't just let Murphy's Law win! We have to come up with something!" Lisa said with a determined look.
"Yeah! I'm going after it!" Clyde said as he proceeded to run after the street sweeper, only for him to run straight into it. He then took a step back to see that the street sweeper was moving very slowly.
"Wow. That is going a lot slower than I thought." Clyde said blankly
"After that slow moving street sweeper!" Lincoln said as they ran after the street sweeper.
They eventually chased the sweeper across town to a factory. When they got in though, they saw something that silently angered Lisa to all extent. It was a factory full of papers from top to bottom.
"Okay. This could be worse." Lisa said as she held he index finger up.
"How?" Ronnie Anne asked.
"Well you could accidentally get your head caught in a helicopter door that flies you over the ocean where it drops you into a pod of ravenous Orca that rip you apart, leaving nothing but your bones for the hungry crabs at the inky depths at the bottom of the ocean all because Murphy's Law couldn't let you win back one doctors note!" Lisa yelled, infuriated by how the day was going. Everyone stared at her with wide eyes for a few seconds before Lincoln broke the silence.
"Wow. I...I don't even know how to respond to that." Lincoln said.
"Respond to it by looking for you note." Lisa said as they went to search for the note.
I know you heard it all before
like when i told the dog ate my homework
Clyde tried rummaging through piles of papers, only for him to fail at finding the doctors note.
Or when I left it in my other pants
and they went in the wash
Oh yeah
Lincoln tried looked through piles of paper that were being smashed into cubes, only to come out empty. Then the crushed fell apart and fell through some of the piles.
I know this story isn't easy to except
but the power went out and so I over slept
Clyde tried looking through trash cans full of papers, but he looked too deep in one of them and tripped head first into the trash can.
I got a million god excuses now they're gone
well have to cope with the loss.
Yeah, yeah, Yeah!
Lincoln leaped into a pile of papers, and a few seconds later he fell out of it while being stuck inside of tires.
(I got no)
No explanation
(I got no)
No validation
Ronnie Anne ran through a hamster wheel of papers looking for the note, only for the wheel to fall apart and knock her to the ground.
(I got no)
No justification
I'm just useless baby
Lincoln jumped into a dumpster full of papers, only to be carried away by a giant claw.
(I got no)
No confirmation,
No documentation
No excuses baby today.
The had been searching for a long time everyone was starting to get frustrated.
"Augh! I'm gonna lose my mind reading all these paper!" Lincoln yelled as he held his hair with his hands.
"We can't give up!" Lisa said as Lincoln started to approach her. He gritted his teeth before he replied, and angry expression on his face.
"Why not? Why is this so important to you?! You never spend time with me so why do you now all of a sudden, act like this is the most important thing in the world?!" Lincoln yelled. Lisa never spent time with her family, and as such, the fact that now she wanted to get his doctors note so much was confusing him.
"Well...uh.." Lisa said while trying to come up with an answer to it. Thankfully, she was saved by Ronnie Anne who yelled "Lincoln! I see it!" They looked over to see that she was on a treadmill.
Ronnie Anne was about to grab it, but she couldn't move her foot. She then looked down to see that her shoes laces were stuck in the treadmill.
"Dang it! The pointy part at the end of my laces are stuck!" Ronnie Anne yelled.
"It's referred to as an Aglet!" Lisa said. Ronnie Anne tried to free her foot, but it wouldn't budge. She then looked to the end of the treadmill to see that papers were being shredded, and she was on her way too.
"And I'm about to be shredded and recycled!" Ronnie Anne yelled as she gained a terrified expression.
"Oh no! That's not good! Well the shredding part, not the recycling part since recycling is very important to the environme-" Clyde started before being cut off by Ronnie Anne.
"Help!" She yelled.
"I've got to do something!" Lisa yelled as she leaped over the the guardrail and onto a bunch of hanging boxes.
"Fear no-" Lisa started before being cut off as the rope that hung the box ripped and she fell onto a platform that was being lifted.
"Don't worry, I'll get there!" Lisa said as she was elevated upwards.
"I'm worrying!" Ronnie Anne said as she looked back towards the shredder.
"You know, I bet that whole thing with helicopters and the orcas is looking pretty good right now!" Lincoln yelled. Lisa leaped onto the treadmill, only for a pile of papers to fall onto her, trapping her to the ground.
"NO!" Lisa yelled. As she said this, Lincoln looked around for something to help him out. He then grabbed a pipe off the wall and threw it at the shredder, causing it to jam and malfunction until it stopped.
"Okay, that was awesome." Clyde said as they ran down some stairs to them. Ronnie Anne finished getting her foot unstuck while Lisa was only able to squirm in the pile of papers that trampled her.
"A little help, sibling?" she said deadpanned as Lincoln grabbed her hand and pulled her out.
"Finally. We got the doctor's note!" Ronnie Anne said as Lincoln proceeded to grab and read it.
"Please excuse...Linka? Who the heck is Linka?" Lincoln said confused as a portal opened and sucked the paper into it. A few seconds later, another doctor's note and a small piece of paper flew out of it before the portal closed. Lincoln grabbed the small paper and read it.
"Sorry, one of our inventions went haywire."
"-P & F"
Lincoln just shrugged and put the paper in his pocket. He then read the doctors note that came out of the portal to see that it read his name.
"Life has a strange way of working out." Lincoln said as they left the building.
At the end of the day, Lincoln managed to turn in his doctor's note along with all the excuses. He was in his building of residential address when he went to Lisa's room. He knocked before he heard a "come in" from Lisa, to which he entered.
"Good evening sibling. What can I do for you?" Lisa said as she turned around on her swivel chair.
"Lisa, You never answered my question." Lincoln said.
"What question?" Lisa asked confused.
"Why were you so focused on getting my doctor's note?" Lincoln said as Lisa's eyes went wide.
"Well..." Lisa started before being cut off by Lincoln.
"And I want the truth" Lincoln said as he put on her glasses that were a lie detector before crossing his arms, waiting for a response.
"Well, it's just that sometimes, I feel like...like I can't do anything to combat Murphy's law. My extremely high IQ means nothing when it comes to fighting Murphy's Law and I guess I wanted to prove that I could be stronger than it." Lisa said as she looked down in shame, with Lincoln gaining a sad look.
"Lisa, what makes you think that?" he asked as she quickly responded.
"I could barely create a device capable of protecting an egg, I could barely get a doctor's note, I couldn't even save your friend!" Lisa said with small tears in her eyes. Lincoln sighed before he answered her. He took a knee and put his hands on her shoulders.
"Lisa, not everyone can handle Murphy's law. Even if you're apart of my family, some of my sisters can't handle it, which I guess include's you. But you don't have to worry about it so much. One day, you're gonna do great things. You just have to wait. So don't worry about trying to prove yourself. I'll make sure that you don't get hurt by it. Okay?" Lincoln asked as he wiped a tear from her eye. She sniffled before answering.
"usually, I am not one to give emotions, but..." Lisa said as she hugged him to which he returned the embrace. Eventually they let go and Lincoln started to leave. When he got to the door, he was stopped by Lisa.
"And Lincoln, you do know that Lori plays golf with your doctor, meaning we could have called her to ask where she is, went there, and we could have asked your doctor if he could sign another note right?" Lisa said as Lincoln's eyes went wide before going into a deadpanned look.
"Dang it."
"IT'S THE LOUD HOUSE AND WE'RE ALL LIVING IN IT!"
Yay. Took me long enough. And I wasn't Lying. Lisa is going to do something big in this series...Anyway, the next episode will be "Party of peril" followed by "No spoilers" Since they are both birthday themes episodes.
I wonder who opened that portal...
