A/N: This was just something I never saw explored in any fics, soo...
More angst has occurred. But there will probably be funny stuff next chapter, I promise you all I will stop being nothing but depressing! XD Anyway, here you go! Hope you like it... or not... you'll probably yell at me...
"I believed you. I stood by you. You're making a mistake."
"Maybe. But I have to sort this out on my own. Without the Council... and without you."
Anakin paused, knowing full well that this could be the last thing he said to his padawan. "I understand, more than you realize... I understand wanting to walk away from the Order."
She turned slightly towards him. "I know."
That was all. Then she was walking away. Away from her home, away from the people she cared about.
Away from him.
"General." Rex said as Anakin walked into the mess. "Any news on Commander Tano?"
Anakin took a deep breath in an attempt to steady his voice. "Ahsoka... she's gone."
"Wait... wait, wait, no, they wouldn't, she's just a kid." Fives said, his face showing a thousand emotions at once.
"No, no."
"What do you mean, gone?" Kix asked warily.
"She left the Order." Anakin replied numbly.
"But... wh... where is she?"
"I don't know. She didn't say much to me."
"Did they give her a chance to come back?"
"With a promotion to Knight."
"Serves them right." Fives spoke up in a low, almost venomous tone. "They pounced on her as soon as they needed someone to blame for blowing up their precious Temple."
The anger boiling up inside of him began fading into grief as they all started to comprehend the loss they'd taken.
"What in the karking galaxy were we doing?" Fives muttered for the hundredth time.
"Even if they had ordered us to execute her, I wouldn't have been able to do it." Kix admitted from where he was hunched over on his bunk.
"I don't blame her." Jesse said, speaking for the first time since they'd gotten the news. "I would've left, too."
"I wish we could." Tup said in a half-whisper. "I wish we could follow her. She hated- hates being alone."
"She will come back. She wouldn't disappear completely without saying goodbye." Fives insisted.
"Isn't that what she just did?" Rex asked bitterly. "She's gone."
Tup looked over at the captain. "No. No, she isn't. Don't you remember when she told you she wouldn't ever really leave you? She said she'd never leave any of us. And she never goes back on her word."
Rex shoved his helmet on and walked out of the barracks.
Another orange sunset met his eyes.
Just like the one in the sky last night, the night she left.
He threw his helmet down, kicked it as far as he could, and yelled in the same direction.
Oh, Ahsoka...
Don't you know how much we need you?
A/N: And look what 'Before You Go' did to meeeeeee NO
There will be something happy (maybe, you know me XD) in the next chapter! See you all next update! :D
