Annabeth's POV

Annabeth grabbed her keys from her bag as she and Malcolm walked to the front door of the Chase house.

They had just gotten back from Mathletes which Annabeth had no clue why they would do it on a weekend, but then again she also studied on weekends so she couldn't say much about that.

The Chase house was a three story tall Gray Victorian house. She took out her keys and unlocked the door. Annabeth walked into the still house with Malcolm trailing behind her.

"Ok well I got to go work on some stuff. Call me if you need anything." she said looking at her brother who was walking toward the kitchen.

He nodded his head.

Annabeth started walking up the stairs to her room. She didn't actually have work to do, but if thinking is counted as working then yes.

When she got to the white door Annabeth placed her hand on the handle which was slightly cold and opened the door. Her room was pretty spacious. The walls were painted gray, the head of the bed was pressed against the left wall of her room which looked at the window across the room, her desk was to the right of her bed, and the door which led to the bathroom was on the right and her closet was to the left of that.

She placed her bag on the back of her desk chair and went to go look out the window. The view from Annabeth's room was pretty decent, far in the distance you could see the city. When she needed to calm down or concentrate she would look at the city, and now was one of those times.

Annabeth needed to sort out her feelings. Recently she had just got out of a toxic relationship with Luke Castellan, one of the most popular kids in school. Annabeth wasn't what you would exactly call popular but she did date Luke for a little so that's how most people would recognize her.

Luke and Annabeth had known each other for a while, way before highschool. When Annabeth was seven and he was nine they met at summer camp and he was always like the older brother she never had but eventually she grew feelings for him so it was weird to say that.

Last year right before summer Luke said that he had feelings for Annabeth and she admitted that she did to. That summer they started dating and hanging out together all summer but a few months ago she found out that he was not exactly the most loyal person and broke up with him.

It was still hard for her even though he was not a good person because it was only her second breakup.

When Annabeth saw Percy she felt uneasy, but not in a bad way. The feeling was hard to describe although it was very warm.

After a while her phone started ringing. She picked up the phone and looked at the caller ID. It was Piper, one of her good friends.

"Hey Pipes. What up?" She asked her friend

"Annabeth Chase get your ass over here! It's a Saturday night and you're probably studying! "Her friend said kindly but with a hint of anger. Annabeth's friends were always trying to get her away from homework (and thinking about Luke) to have fun.

"Piper you know I don't like parties" That was her excuse this time. Every time they wanted to get her away from her precious study time Annabeth came up with an excuse. There was basically a list of them in her head.

"It's not a party. It's just going to be me, you, Hazel, and Thaila." Piper explained

Annabeth took a moment before responding. If it was just with her close friends then it would be fine. "Ok, I'll come. But isn't it Saturday night, shouldn't you be with Jason? " she caved

"No he has practice tonight and besides I already called him. And I'm happy you decided to come!" Piper sounded happy "Can you be here in 15?"

She looked down at her phone and saw the time. It was just about 3:00 in the afternoon so there would be time before her mom got home.

"Sure" she responded

"Yay! See ya soon Ana!"

Before Annabeth could correct her friend Piper hung up. Her friends were always coming up with new nicknames for her. Sometimes it could be annoying, but secretly she liked some of them.

Before she left Annabeth put on some more comfortable clothing which basically meant some sweatpants and her old swim hoodie which now just fit her.

A few years ago when she still did swim Annabeth got a hoodie to remind her of the great year she had but she ended up getting it a size too big but she wore it anyways. Now two years later she finally actually fit into it and plus it was very comfortable.

She grabbed her phone and keys and started heading downstairs. Before descending down she knocked on her Malcolm's door.

"Hey I'm going to leave for a little. I should be back in a few hours." Annabeth said through the closed door

"Ok. Also you know you don't have to tell me when you're leaving anymore. I'm not five." he reasoned

It was true. He wasn't a little kid anymore but she still treated him like one. Most of the time it was the two of them so over the years they have gotten really close and Annabeth still treated him like a little kid.

"Yeah. I know," She said "See you later."

It took about seven minutes to get to Piper's house from her's so the drive was not too long. Once she entered the gated community she went to the McLean mansion.

Piper's dad was Tristen McLean, the famous movie star. At first Piper was supposed to go to a private school instead of the public school they were going to, but she convinced her dad to let her go to a public school.

No one really knew about her dad except for a few of her closest friends and some other people and that's how she liked it. Usually her dad was gone working on a movie or something so it was just Piper.

When she drove into the driveway Annabeth saw that Hazel was already there. It wasn't much of a surprise. Hazel and Annabeth always like to either be on time or early and Thiala liked to be late. Sometimes even on purpose.

Annabeth made her way to the front door and knocked. "Coming!" she heard someone yell. Probably Piper.

The door opened. Piper gave Annabeth a big hug. "I'm so excited you came!" she said bringing Annabeth into the home. "We haven't done a girls night in a while!"

"Yeah" Annabeth agreed. They used to hang out a lot on weekends, but then everyone's life became really busy.

"Come on Hazel's downstairs." Piper said

The two of them made their way downstairs to the basement. Now the basement was literally the size of a really big apartment. It was probably the place they hung out the most because it was so spacious.

When they got downstairs Annabeth saw Hazel sitting on the couch watching something that was on the T.V.

"Hey Hazel." Annabeth said making her way over to her friends.

"Annabeth!" she said hugging her as soon as she got over there.

"So" Piper started "Anything interesting happening in your life?" she asked the two girls. For a little they all talked about school and family life. Finally they heard a knock on the door.

"There's Thals," Piper said, making her way up the stairs to get their late friend.

When Piper came back down with Thaila the other two tackled her with hugs because they knew she hated it.

"So, what's up?" She asked once they finally got off of her.
