'Hey mama, just wanted to let you know I won't be home for a while. Sesshomaru and I are going on an adventure to go find some demons! And were going to be flying! How cool is that! See you soon!'

Kagome and Inuyasha just stood there with wide eyes as mama read the message she had gotten from Sota, over three hours ago.

"You want me to kick my brothers ass when he gets back?"

"Oh no dear, that won't be necessary. I know Sota is safe as long as hes with Sesshomaru. I just wish I knew where they were is all."

"Have you tried calling him?"

"I have, he won't answer."

"What about his tracker?"

"There was no signal."

"Strange."

"You sure? Cuz I have no problem kicking his ass."

"I'm quite sure dear- Oh! His tracker just came back into range!"

The three hovered over mamas phone as they watched the red dot on the map grow closer to their home.

"Oh my...they sure are going fast."

"Sesshomaru is a fast demon, mama."

"Yeah...I'm gonna kick his ass."

"Inuyasha..."

Inuyasha stormed to the front door, opened it, and stormed outside, mama and Kagome following behind him. Mamas eyes were glued to her phone app, as the dot was now hovering above their home. She looked around an didn't see them. Sota said they were flying, didn't he? Mama looked up, and let out a small gasp, causing the other two to look up as well. High up in the sky was Sesshomaru holding Sota with one arm, while Sota had his arms wrapped around Sesshomarus neck. He was flying towards the ground at an alarming pace. It looked like they were going to crash, but then they began to slow, and he landed on the ground gracefully with one bent knee. She let out a sigh of relief as he put Sota down and stood.

"Mama I'm back! You wouldn't believe how much fun we...had..."

Sota gulped as Inuyasha, Kagome, and mama, all glared at him. If the look mama had in her eyes, was anything to go by, he was in soooo much trouble. He shrunk back and hid behind Sesshomarus legs, his last line of defense. Sesshomaru looked at him, puzzled, why does the boy hide? He looked up to the glaring three, and mama shot him a glare as well. To his surprise he felt himself flinch, ever so slightly. It was like he was being scorned by his mother when he was younger.

"And just where have you two been?"

The two were silent for a moment. Sesshomaru found himself perplexed as to why he suddenly was fearful of this human woman.

"I was made aware that Sota had sent you a message. We left to pursue my kind."

"Oh no, I got his message. Going on an adventure to look for demons, is not the answer I'm looking for."

"Were you not ok with this? Had you contacted us with your device Sota calls a cellphone, and made me aware of your concerns, I would have turned around and returned him home."

"Oh I did, several times."

Sesshomaru looked down to Sota, who slowly pulled out his phone. Sesshomaru saw him visibly pale, and give a nervous laugh.

"Oh...look at that... fifteen missed calls...hahaha...whoops?"

Sesshomaru rolled his eyes at Sota, as mama crossed her arms. She continued to glare at them both, and Sesshomaru saw Inuyasha crack his knuckles. That would do no good right now. He better clear this up, and fast. It was no fault of the boys, he enticed him with the promise of flight and adventure. Any child would have taken that up in a heart beat.

"Ms. Higurashi, it is no fault of Sotas. I asked him to accompany me to my mothers castle without consulting you first. For that I apologize. But I assure you, there wasn't a moment where he was in danger. His excitement to fly on the back of an enormous dog demon was likely the cause of him not heeding your calls as well."

Her expression softened a bit, but there was still a firm look of disappointment across her face.

"That's very kind of you stand up for Sota, Sesshomaru. And I accept your apology. But Sota is old enough to know better. Do you have any idea how worried I was about you two? What it did to me to see your tracker just vanish out of range like that?"

Sotas shoulders slumped as mama scolded them, Sesshomaru felt himself shrink back a little too. For the gods above he didn't know why, he was a grown man, not a child to be scolded, and by a human no less.

"I'm sorry mama..."

She sighed and rubbed the bridge of her nose, she closed her eyes for a moment, before looking at them again.

"Did you at least find what you were looking for?"

"Not really...no."

"My mothers castle in the clouds was still standing. But it was in disrepair. By the stale scents in the air, no one had step food in that castle for over a hundred years. But I also found no human scent in the air, and everyones belonging were gone. I can only assume the castle was abandoned at mothers own accord."

"Oh dear. Well I'm very sorry to hear that. No no demons there either huh..."

"Well...we found one..."

Shock crossed their faces all at once at Sotas comment.

"Really!? Where are they?"

Sota and Sesshomaru were silent, and had a mournful look on their faces. Everyone understood immediately.

"Did you know them?"

"It was Ah-Un, Inuyasha. He was in the stable, but nothing but bones remained of him. By the state of his body, he died well over a hundred years ago, presumably of old age, I saw no wounds in the bones."

"Oh no..."

"Gezz...sorry about that."

"I'm sorry dear, was Ah-Un a good friend of yours?"

"He was Sesshomarus dragon mama, and he had two heads too. Kinda wish I could have seen him alive and not dead."

"Oh dear, I'm so sorry."

"Hnn."

Mama placed her hand on her chin thoughtfully. A small smile coming to her face.

"I know loss takes time to heal, but icecream always helps it along faster. Come on inside, I'll get everyone some bowls of icecream and we can watch a funny movie together."

Sota cheered and ran for the house, only for his arm to be caught by his mother.

"Don't think your off the hook. Your still grounded. After this bowl of ice cream and movie, no TV or games for two days. Its home work, reading, or chores. Understand?"

"Yes mama..."

"Good, now inside with you."

Sota slumped inside, and Sesshomaru went to follow him, only for his arm, to his surprise, to be grabbed by mama as well as he passed her.

"And you mister. Don't think your not in trouble either. Sota may have ignored my calls, but your the one who whisked him away without asking me first. I accepted your apology, but next time you want to take my son on an adventure, I expect you to ask me if its alright, not him. Understood?"

Her eyes burned into his, and he once again felt himself shrink back. His throat felt so dry all of a sudden. How was this woman, this human woman, able to scare him. Just what was she?

"Ahem?"

"Uh...Yes, Ms. Higurashi, I understand."

Her burning expression turned into a happy smile and she let go of his arm and pat him on the back.

"Good. Come on inside then, I'll get the icecream."

She vanished into the house, and he just stood there baffled. He heard the sounds of snickering behind him, and he turned to glare. Kagome had her hand over her mouth to try to stop, but Inuyasha was openly laughing at him. He only glared harder.

"Wow, I had totally planned to kick your ass, but she just did it for me!"

"Oh Inuyasha be nice."

Inuyasha kept cackling, and Sesshomaru decided to just blow it off. He turned around with a huff, and started to walk inside.

"Just remember young man, no more adventures! Or mama will scold you again! Hahaha! Bad dog bad!"

Kagome eeped as Sesshomaru turned on his heels and jumped Inuyasha with a loud snarl. Both demons fists collided with each others faces, as fangs snapped and sunk into each other. Claws swiped, and blood was being drawn. Kagome called for the only person she thought that could break up their fight.

"MAMA!"

Both demons went rigid as mama appeared at the door way, once again a glare on her otherwise kind face. Fuck.
