Chapter 20: New Opportunities

"Wow, this is beautiful," Chloe commented as Beca drove down a highway that overlooked the Pacific Ocean. "I've never seen anything like this before. The east coast has nothing on this place."

"The east coast has some nice views, but I'd take the west coast any day," Beca replied. "Plus, it's warmer over here," she added with a chuckle.

"Oh yeah, that is without a doubt," Chloe said, smiling as one of Beca's hands rested on her thigh while the other controlled the steering wheel. "What's our next stop?" She asked.

"Well, we're getting close to San Francisco. I thought we could stop and visit Stacie and Chicago and then find a hotel for the night," Beca stated. "Does that sound good to you?"

"That sounds great," Chloe answered, leaning over and giving Beca a quick peck on the cheek.

"Why don't you get your phone out and call them? We're still a few hours away, but we should at least give them some notice," Beca suggested, blushing a little when Chloe kissed her cheek.

"You're right." Chloe took her phone out from her pocket and dialed Stacie's number. Her friend didn't pick up, though. "Huh, that's weird. Should I try Chicago instead?"

"Yeah, give him a ring," Beca stated, keeping her eyes on the road.

Chloe pressed on Chicago's contact and put the phone to her ear. As she waited for him to pick up, she used her free hand to lightly scratch the back of Beca's neck. This was something she knew Beca would appreciate as she drove.

Chicago answered the phone on what seemed like the last possible ring. "Hello?"

"Good, you picked up," Chloe laughed.

"Chloe? What's up?" Chicago asked.

"I was calling because Beca and I are going to be in San Francisco later tonight, and we were wondering if we could maybe stop by and hang out with guys later," Chloe explained.

"Oh, that's cool. You guys can totally stop by if you want, but I will warn you that my place is a bit messy right now since I'm packing."

Chloe raised an eyebrow. "Packing? Why are you packing?" She asked.

"I'll tell you guys when you get here. This sort of news isn't something you tell someone over the phone," Chicago said, a hint of excitement in his voice. "What time can I expect you two?" He inquired.

"We'll be there in about three and a half hours," Chloe answered.

"Alright, see you then."

"Did he say something about packing?" Beca asked once Chloe was off the phone.

"Yeah, I wonder if he's going on a trip or something," Chloe said, a confused expression on her face. "He wouldn't tell me why he was packing. He said the news was too big to tell over the phone," she mentioned a moment later.

"Hmm. I guess we'll just have to wait and see."

They got to San Francisco a little earlier than expected. Chloe had booked them a hotel room a couple hours after she talked to Chicago, so they decided to go there first. "Which street am I turning on, babe?" Beca asked as she maneuvered through the traffic downtown.

"It's your next left. I made sure to get us a room with a view of the bay," Chloe replied, looking at the directions to the hotel on her phone.

"Awesome. I can't wait to see it," Beca said with a smile.

They reached the hotel a few minutes later and went inside once Beca had parked in the attached garage. "Do you know what floor our room is on?" Beca asked as they walked into the hotel lobby.

"I don't, I just know we have room with a bayside view," Chloe mentioned before they strolled over to the front desk.

"Hello ladies," said the lady at the front desk. "How are you this evening?" She asked politely.

"We're doing pretty well, thanks. How are you?" Chloe responded.

"I'm doing well, thank you. Now, what can I do for you?"

"I made a reservation a couple hours ago under the last name Beale," Chloe stated. "Is the room ready?"

"Let me check on that," the lady said politely before typing Beale into the computer. "It looks like your room is ready," she said, grabbing a couple room keys. "Room 704, ladies. I hope you enjoy your stay."

"Thank you so much," Chloe said, smiling at the lady before she and Beca each took a room key, then they headed for the elevator. Once they reached their room, Chloe texted Chicago to let him know that they would be on their way to his place once they got everything settled at the hotel.

"When did you tell Chicago we'd be coming over?" Beca asked as she took a few things out of her suitcase.

"I said we'd be there in an hour or so. He sent me the address to his apartment, and it's not too far from here," Chloe said. "We can get everything settled here. The traffic will be lighter by the time we leave."

"Sounds good," Beca said. "Do you want to lay down with me for a bit? I could use a little nap."

"You know I can't say no to you," Chloe said with a smile, she then hopped onto the bed and patted the spot next to her, gesturing for her girlfriend to join her.

Beca smiled and climbed onto the bed, laying down beside Chloe. The brunette put an arm around the redhead's waist and sighed with content. "I love you, Chlo," she murmured.

"I love you too," Chloe whispered back, reaching her hand up to the arm that Beca had around her waist. She then softly ran her fingers up and down Beca's forearm. "Do you think Chic's news is about his and Stacie's baby?" She asked absentmindedly.

"Maybe," Beca replied, closing her eyes and letting out another happy sigh. "I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you," she said, pulling Chloe closer as she spoke.

"I'm your forever girl," Chloe whispered softly, linking their fingers together. She then brought Beca's hand to her lips, pressing a soft peck to them.

Beca blushed when she felt Chloe kiss her hand. She opened her eyes and gazed up at her girlfriend. "Can I have a kiss?" She asked sweetly.

She's such a softie at heart, Chloe thought to herself before leaning in and placing a tender kiss on her girlfriend's lips. When she pulled away, she asked. "Was that the kind of kiss you were hoping for?"

Beca nodded. "That's what I was hoping for and then some," she replied, blushing a little. "Could I maybe get another one?"

"I thought you wanted to take a nap," Chloe giggled.

"I did, but getting kisses from you is a much better use of my time," Beca said, causing her girlfriend to laugh a little more.

"Alright then," Chloe granted Beca's request and kissed her a second time. She cupped Beca's cheek softly, which made the kiss nice and loving.

Beca hummed as her lips lingered on Chloe's for a few extra moments. "Now I'm ready to take a nap," she said when their lips parted.

Chloe raised an eyebrow. "So what I'm hearing is my kisses put you to sleep?" She teased.

"You know that's not what I meant," Beca chuckled. "You're the one who pointed out the fact that I originally said I wanted to take a nap," she mentioned. "And for the record, your kisses hardly put me to sleep."

Chicago was packing up the rest of the boxes while Stacie labeled them. "The owners of the team set us up in a nice house that is close enough to your campus. I've seen the photos of the house, and it's more than big enough for us to raise the baby."

"That's great, Chic," Stacie said, smiling at the thought of her and Chicago raising their child together. "How far is the house from the stadium?" She wondered aloud.

"It's about fifteen minutes away," Chicago said happily. "It'll be an easy commute for the both of us."

"I can't wait."

Just then, Chicago's phone started to ring. "It's Chloe. She and Beca must be almost here," he stated. He then stepped away from the boxes and into his bedroom. "Hello?"

"Hey, Chic. It's Beca."

"You guys on your way?" Chicago asked happily.

"We're about five minutes away. Will you text us your apartment number?" Beca asked.

"Yeah," he said. "See you in a bit."

Chicago hung up and sent a text before looking up at the now empty room around him. He smiled when he heard Stacie walk in behind him. "A lot of good memories were made in this room."

"Yeah," Stacie said, leaning her head on Chicago's shoulder. "We're going to make even more good memories in Seattle," she murmured.

The young football player then turned to Stacie, placing a hand on her stomach. "A lot of good memories," he repeated softly. "Our baby was made in this room."

Stacie couldn't help but chuckle at Chicago's last comment. "I know. I was there," she joked.

Chicago laughed along with her. "Can I ask you something?" He said softly. When Stacie nodded, he took a deep breath. "When you pictured yourself having a baby, was Logan the father in your mind? I won't be upset if I wasn't, I'm just curious."

Stacie didn't have to ponder her answer for very long. "I did imagine myself having a future with Logan, but kids weren't really in that picture. He's not a huge fan of them," she replied. "If anyone was going to be the father of my child, I'm glad it's you," the tall brunette added.

"I'm honored," Chicago said softly before pressing a kiss to the top of Stacie's head. "If it's not clear, if anyone were to be the mother of my children, it is you."

"I'm glad we feel the same," Stacie said, turning her head so she could gaze into Chicago's eyes.

Just as Chicago was about to lean in, there was a knock at the door. "That's Beca and Chloe."

"Ooh, let's go let them in!" Stacie exclaimed excitedly.

Chicago chuckled and then they walked back out of the bedroom. A big smile appeared on all four faces when Chicago opened the door. "Hey you guys!" He said, bringing both Beca and Chloe into a hug with his strong arms.

"I've missed you, buddy," Beca replied, smiling as she hugged her best friend.

"The feeling is mutual," Chicago said, letting the two girls go so they could say hello to Stacie. "How was the drive down here?"

"It was great. We took a few detours along the way to do some exploring," Chloe answered, a smile on her face as well.

"You'll have to show us some pictures," Stacie said, releasing Beca from a hug.

Beca then noticed all of the boxes sitting behind them. "Are you guys moving?"

Chicago and Stacie looked at each other, silently agreeing the football player should be the one to break the news. "The transaction isn't official yet, but I am now a member of the Seattle Seahawks as of a few days ago."

"Holy shit! Chic, that's so great!" Beca said, rushing to her best friend to give him another hug. Chicago had been dreaming of playing for the Seahawks since they had met, now he had gotten the chance to make that dream come true.

"It's kind of bittersweet considering how much I love the Niners organization and the city of San Francisco, but I'm stoked to play for my hometown team," Chicago stated, his smile spreading from ear to ear.

They ordered some pizza then got to talking about what the future held. They talked about when the baby was due, possible names for the baby. Beca's future music plans were brought up as well as a bunch of other random topics while they waited for their food to arrive.

"I'm sure your fans will be happy to hear some new music from you," Stacie said as they sat down to eat once their food got there.

Beca nodded. "I'm happy to be putting out new music soon. I spent a lot of my time in Seattle writing song after song after song, so I'm looking forward to getting in the studio and recording them."

"And, how many of those songs are about Chloe?" Chicago teased.

"All of them," Chloe said, playing along with Chicago. "She's so helplessly in love with me."

"Oh fuck off," Beca answered, shaking her head with a chuckle. "To answer your question, Chicago, a good number of them are about Chloe. However, I also wrote some songs about the stuff I've been struggling with," she stated, glancing away for a moment.

"And I'm sure those will be amazing, Beca," Chicago said, offering a comforting hand to his friend. "You've always been so good at putting your feelings into words, and I have no doubt that all of the songs you've been working on are amazing. No matter what they're about."

"Thanks, Chic. I feel like I'm going to have a hard time recording those songs since they're so personal to me," Beca admitted, a hint of nervousness in her voice. "I was so vulnerable, so open about what I was feeling...what I still feel sometimes. I just hope I can actually record them."

"What if I came with you when you recorded them, babe?" Chloe suggested. "I could be there to calm your nerves."

"Thanks for the offer, babe, but this might be something I have to do alone. I'll let you know if I change my mind, though," Beca said, sending a small smile her girlfriend's way.

"I'll be there if you need me to be," Chloe answered before she helped hand out the pizza.

"Wait, wait. So you're telling me Olivia and Allison might start dating?" Stacie asked in disbelief as they all washed the dishes they had used for dinner.

"They both have feelings for each other. It's now a matter of if and or when someone makes a move," Beca said, chuckling at the look on Stacie's face.

"If a move hasn't been made already," Chloe said.

"I did see them talking pretty much the entire time at the party," Chicago said. "I mean, it makes sense," he said before drying off the dishes and putting them in one of the cupboards.

"How do you feel about them going from dating Beca to dating each other?" Stacie asked Chloe.

"I mean, I'd rather them date each other than constantly have Olivia trying to get in Beca's pants," Chloe answered, half-kidding and half-serious.

"Not that she could get in my pants; the only one who can is this cutie right here," Beca said, walking over to Chloe and wrapping her arms around the redhead from behind.

"The same goes from me to you, obviously," Chloe said, smiling and leaning back into Beca's embrace.

"How do you even know they might end up dating, though?" Stacie asked, going back to Olivia and Allison.

"Allison stopped by my parents house the day before Chloe and I left and asked for Olivia's number because she forgot to get it at the party," Beca answered as they put the last of the dishes away.

"Really? And what has Olivia said about her?" Chicago asked curiously.

"I haven't really heard from Olivia since the party," Beca said. "Though, she seemed just as infatuated with Allison as Allison did with her," she added.

Chicago chuckled. "Well, well, well. How the turn tables," he said, quoting one of his and Beca's favorite shows.

While Chicago and Beca talked about his fresh start with the Seahawks, Stacie and Chloe went to sit in the living room. "So, how's the pregnancy going?" Chloe asked.

"It's going as expected. I've had some morning sickness but it hasn't been too bad," Stacie answered, smiling as she looked down at her belly.

"Chicago said that both of your families are being really supportive, which makes me happy to hear," Chloe said.

"Yeah, they've been great," Stacie said, glancing Chicago's way to admire the father of her future child.

"Have you started thinking of names yet?"

"We've thought of a couple, but we want to wait until the baby is born to find out the gender so I guess we'll decide then," Stacie said, smiling at the thought. "Chicago's really excited to be a dad."

"He's going to be a great one," Chloe stated confidently. "I'm so happy for you guys." She noticed the way Stacie would constantly glance towards Chicago during their conversation. "How have your hormones been? My mom told me when she was pregnant with me that was one of the most intense parts of her pregnancy."

Stacie instantly began to blush. "Yeah, they're pretty intense…" she trailed off.

Chloe looked back and forth between Stacie and Chicago for a few moments, putting two and two together. "Oh my god, Stacie. Are you two hooking up?"

"Are you really surprised? He is the father, after all," Stacie pointed out with a laugh.

"I mean, I get why he would be your first choice. I'm just surprised that you two actually decided to be each other's fuckbuddies," Chloe explained, laughing along with the tall brunette. "How is the sex?"

"So, so good. It happens like, four or five times a week."

"Oh wow. Your hormones must be off the charts then," Chloe concluded.

"Wow is right, but Chicago is really up for the challenge," Stacie said, tucking her hair back before giggling.

"Up for what challenge?" Chicago called from the other room upon hearing his name mentioned.

"Uhhh, let's just say you've been very helpful with the pregnancy stuff," Stacie replied, winking at the father of her child.

It took Chicago a couple seconds to get what Stacie was saying, but he didn't miss a beat. "Oh, yeah. I've been super helpful," he stated proudly.

Stacie bit her lip to hold back a giggle, she then turned back to Chloe. "I mean, it benefits both of us. Needless to say, he enjoys it too," she said, loud enough for Chicago to hear.

"Are you talking about me again?" Chicago asked, pretending as if he didn't hear Stacie's most recent comment.

"We never stopped talking about you before, Chic," Chloe said, laughing at her two friends.

Beca nudged Chicago. "You and Stacie, huh?" She asked, smirking at her best friend.

"Yeah, she's great. I'm so lucky to have her in my life," Chicago replied with a smile. He then sighed softly. "It's just sex, though. I don't think Stacie wants anything more."

"That girl has been in love with you for years, Chic. I'm sure it isn't just sex to her," Beca said, placing a friendly hand on Chicago's shoulder.

"Her sex drive is crazy right now thanks to her pregnancy hormones. I doubt she'd be that interested if she wasn't pregnant."

"Give her time, Chic. She loves you, and you know that," Beca said in an encouraging manner. "She and Logan were together for awhile. Relationships like that take time to get over."

"I guess I'm just worried that maybe she'll find someone else and I won't get a chance to be with her," Chicago admitted with a sigh. "I've been pining after her for so long, and this is the closest I've gotten to getting my dream girl," he added.

Beca looked over at Chloe, who was still sitting in the living room with Stacie. "I know how you feel. If someone had come along and won Chloe over, I would've been devastated," she said softly. The singer then turned back to Chicago. "Just keep the faith, I think you two will end up together."

"Thanks, Beca," Chicago said, smiling gratefully at his best friend. "I hope you're right."

"Well, I'm rarely wrong," Beca said, making Chicago laugh.

"Since when are you the cocky one?" Chicago asked, still laughing at what Beca had said.

"Don't act like I never was the cocky one," Beca countered, now laughing along with Chicago.

Chicago couldn't help but shake his head at Beca's antics. "Fair enough."

Later that night, after Beca and Chloe had headed back to their hotel, Chicago was cleaning up the small mess that they had made.

He headed to the bathroom once he had finished cleaning, seeing Stacie brushing her hair. She's gorgeous, he thought to himself. Chicago walked up behind her, moving some of her hair away from her neck, pressing a couple kisses to her skin while his hands rested on her stomach. "Is now a good time?"

"It's always a good time with my hormones," Stacie giggled, sighing happily as she leaned back against Chicago.

This made Chicago chuckle, and he pushed his hands under Stacie's shirt. Her skin was so smooth, so lovely. His hands moved to her hips as he continued to kiss Stacie's neck. "What would you like me to do?" He whispered, knowing Stacie liked it when he was inventive in the bedroom.

"Surprise me," Stacie whispered back while running her fingers through Chicago's hair and gently tugging at the ends of it.

Chicago smirked before turning Stacie around to kiss her. His hands moved up her back before resting on her cheeks. He pressed a kiss to her lips, then moving back along her jaw to her neck. "Jump," he said, grabbing and holding her once she jumped into his arms.

Stacie giggled again, this time as she jumped into Chicago's arms. She wrapped her legs around his waist and her arms around his shoulders. "I'm curious to see where this is going," she murmured in his ear before taking his earlobe between her teeth and nibbling on it.

With his arms wrapped around Stacie's waist again, Chicago then took them into the bedroom, pinning her in between him and the wall. "You're going to enjoy this," he whispered before removing her pajamas.

Stacie shivered when a cool breeze hit her bare skin. "I can't wait," she said, moving her mouth to Chicago's collarbone and leaving a few hickeys there.

"Get on the bed," Chicago ordered, whispering in her ear. As she did so, he removed his shirt and then climbed on top of her, pinning her hands to the mattress. "Say my name."

"Chic," Stacie moaned, loving this sudden burst of dominance her lover was displaying.

"Good," The football player whispered. His left hand trailed along the outside of her leg while he looked down at the beautiful girl below her. "Look at me," he said with a smile. For a moment, he just looked into her eyes.

Stacie gazed up at Chicago, smiling softly at him. She then pulled him down into a passionate kiss. "I need you, Chic."

"I know," Chicago said, bringing her hand up to his lips, kissing her palm. He never broke eye contact with Stacie as she did this, giving her serious bedroom eyes. He then leaned down and kissed her softly.

Stacie leaned into the kiss, sliding her tongue across Chicago's bottom lip to tease him. She then pulled away from the kiss and leaned her forehead against his. "Please," she murmured, her breathing getting heavier by the minute.

Chicago then reached down and made sure to warm Stacie up. "Are you ready?" He whispered, biting her bottom lip softly.

"Mmhm." Stacie tilted her head back and let out another moan.

Chic continued to rub her with his fingers, massaging her breast with his other hand while his lips cascaded down her body.

Stacie bucked her hips towards Chicago's fingers, needing more from him. She pulled him closer and ran her hands up and down his back, occasionally using her fingernails to leave small scratches on his skin.

For a moment, Chicago pulled away, removing his pants and boxers before allowing Stacie to pull him back down into a kiss. "You're perfect," he whispered softly.

"So are you," Stacie mumbled against Chicago's lips. She moved her hands to his chest and started trailing them downwards, hoping that would excite the football player.

Chicago then gripped her legs, smiling as he looked at Stacie's hands trailing his abs. Then, to keep Stacie on her toes, Chicago picked her up off of the bed again. With her legs wrapped around waist, he backed her up against the wall. "You said to surprise you," he muttered before slowly pushing inside her, making her gasp.

"Oh fuck," Stacie whimpered, burying her head in the crook of Chicago's neck. She held onto him tightly, her fingernails digging into his back. "Chic," she moaned, scratching up to the back of neck, gripping him tightly as he started to thrust up into her slowly, but with force.

The young football player held Stacie up with one hand while the other kept him up by pushing against the wall. "Fuck, ah," he growled before continuing his movements, enjoying the sounds Stacie was making as well as the pleasure he was feeling. Their lips smashed together again, and Chicago moaned into Stacie's mouth. "Ahhh, you feel so good."

"Faster, Chic," Stacie moaned back, her breaths coming in short gasps.

Chicago smirked and went faster, giving Stacie what she wanted. "As you wish, Stace."

Meanwhile, Beca and Chloe were in their hotel room cuddling and watching a movie together. Beca's phone soon began to buzz. She didn't recognize the number that was calling her, but she had a feeling that she should answer. The brunette turned the volume of the movie down before accepting the call and putting her phone up to her ear. "Hello?"

"Hi, is this Beca Mitchell?" A male voice asked.

"Yes, it is. How can I help you?" Beca replied, sitting up a little bit.

"My name is Jeff Azoff. I manage a couple different artists, one of which would like to work with you on an upcoming project," said the man.

Beca sat up and paused the movie altogether. "Oh, cool. You can put them on," she said, intrigued by this.

A different voice spoke a few moments later. "Hello Beca, this is Harry Styles."

Beca's jaw dropped. "Hi Harry, how are you?"

"I'm doing well, thank you. Listen, I'm a huge fan of your work. I think you're an incredible songwriter, and I'd love it if you collaborated with me on the album I'm working on right now," Harry stated genuinely.

Chloe sat up with Beca, still leaning her head on the brunette's shoulder as she listened to the call.

"An entire album," Beca murmured to herself, trying as hard as she could to contain her excitement. "I'd love that too. When will we start?"

"There's no rush, but I would like to get started soon. I've already got some ideas jotted down," Harry answered. "Just out of curiosity, where are you right now?"

"I'm in San Francisco for the night but I'm coming back to LA tomorrow," Beca replied.

"Awesome. Let me know when you're available then and we'll get to work," Harry said. "Alright, erm...I'll let you go now," he added with an awkward chuckle.

Beca smiled and chuckled as well. "Thank you, Harry. Goodnight," she said.

"Goodnight, Beca. I can't wait to work with you."

After the phone call ended, Beca got out of bed and started jumping around. "Can you believe it, Chloe? THE Harry Styles wants me to help him write a whole album!" She exclaimed.

"I know! That's so awesome, Beca!" Chloe said, also getting up so she could give her girlfriend a hug. "How do you feel?"

"Like I'm on cloud nine," Beca replied happily. "I've worked with plenty of well-known artists before, but no one as famous as Harry. I've been a fan of him for years too," she elaborated, smiling as she looked up at her girlfriend.

Chloe smiled back at Beca and then kissed her. "Whatever you and Harry create, I'm sure it will be absolutely incredible."

"This is going to be a big project, Chlo. I can feel it," Beca said excitedly, starting to jump up and down again.

"I can't wait to hear what you two come up with," Chloe said while tucking some of Beca's hair back. "You're so talented, and people are finally noticing that."

That made Beca blush. "Yeah, it seems like they are," she said shyly.

"I always knew you would be a generational talent," Chloe muttered softly, kissing Beca's forehead.

Beca smiled and wrapped her arms around Chloe's waist. "I wouldn't have been able to do any of this without your support," she said.

"I'm just happy you've let me come along for the ride," Chloe smiled as Beca embraced her. "I love you."

"I love you too, baby. There's no one else I'd rather have by my side on this journey."

Things certainly are looking up for Beca! Her relationship with Chloe is blooming in its honeymoon stage! However, will Chicago and Stacie ever admit their true feelings for one another? And how will Beca's partner-up with Mr. Harry Styles go? Stay tuned to find out.
