Adam has been missing for a few months and he has lost all of his memory of who he is and where he lives. His worst fears had come true, He married and lost his wife in childbirth.

Chapter 9

**Two weeks later**

The Cartwright's had returned home after a long journey. Adam wasn 't fully healed yet. His ribs were still bandaged up and his concussion was only giving him headaches now. When they all walked into the house Hop Sing came out of the kitchen to greet them. Then Julie who was hired to take care of Elizabeth came down the stairs holding the baby in her arms. Adam looked up at her and with a grin on his face he said-"Elizabeth?"

"Yes, son. This is your daughter Elizabeth."

Julie came down and took her over to Adam-"Elizabeth, this is your daddy."

"Hello, Elizabeth. Oh, don't you look like your mother. Will you come to me?"

Adam held out his arms and the little girl went to him right away and threw her arms around his neck and gave him a big hug. Just as if she knew that was her daddy.

"Well, I'll be dawgarned. Adam, big brother, it's like you have always been here." Hoss had a great big smile on his face right about now

"Yes, it looks that way doesn't it. Hello baby girl. You're so beautiful."

"Yes, she is Adam. She has both you and Josie in her." Ben couldn't have been prouder right about now

"Elizabeth Josie. My two favourite girls all in one."
