Jungsoo ran immediately as soon as he heard the bell rang. Three boys rushed over and surrounded him as soon as the door opened. All of them were talking over each other so it was difficult to figure out who was speaking what. "Guys, wait a moment, just a moment. One at a time. Let's speak one at a time, alright," giggled Jungsoo.
"Hyung, how have you been doing? I heard that you had a spectacular year," said Siwon.
"It wasn't that special. I think you might have had a more interesting year. I really wish you could come to school soon. It was boring without you," said Jungsoo.
"Hyung, 'ow about me? Didn't ya miss me? I missed ya a lot," asked Hyukjae.
"Of course, I missed you. Stil it has just been a few months since we last saw each other. And I sent letters to you every week," said Jungsoo.
"But still le'ers are not the same as seeing faces. We vought about you a lot," pouted Hyukjae.
"Maybe yeh didn't miss us too. Maybe yeh forgot us cus yeh were ter busy with yeh friends," added Donghae.
"Yeah, he's changed. Let's go," said Siwon as he was pretending to leave.
"Hey, not you as well," said Jungsoo as he grabbed Siwon. "Of course I haven't forgotten you. How could I? Let's go up. There are a lot of things I want to tell you."
Jungsoo was the last one to sit down after closing the door. The three boys looked at him eagerly for the stories he was about to tell. The fact that Hyukjae's hair was turning bright blue indicated he was excited. "So come on, tell us about what happened," said Hyukjae.
"Well, what do you want to know first?" asked Jungsoo.
"Is there really magic? Yer not kiddin' me right?" asked Donghae excitedly.
"How many 'imes I 'old you? It is real and yer really are a wizard!" yelled Hyukjae.
"Alright, fine. Just wanted ter make sure," said Donghae. "So yer sure I am allowed to be 'ere? We are not going to jail right?"
Jungsoo just smiled as he watched them. He too was not sure whether they were allowed to tell Donghae about this. Donghae was from a muggle family that lived near Ron's house. Ron had done accidental magic when Donghae turned up. They were trying to chase curious Donghae but it did not work. So Ron ended up throwing the hugest stick he could towards him. What happened next immobilised them for more than a minute. The stick that could have hit his face suddenly curved and landed elsewhere. Donghae was too shocked that he flopped down and began to cry. Three boys got close with Donghae as they tried to calm him down. "Of course, you are not going to jail," said Jungsoo stopped reminiscing. "Anyway, what do you want to know?"
It took almost an hour to get all of the questions answered. Jungsoo really enjoyed telling them the story as their reaction was vivid. The three boys were looking at him with awe after Jungsoo answered the last questions.
"Wow vat is awesome," said Hyukjae.
"Yeah, it is. Yer a hero," said Donghae.
"Thanks. But I am not a hero. Harry and Heechul were the ones who faced V..Voldemort," said Jungsoo. Hyukjae and Siwon froze at the mention of the name.
"By the way, who is Voldemort and why do yer fear him?" asked Donghae.
The three boys just looked at each other before Jungsoo answered, "Well he is like the wizard version of Hitler. You know we called you a muggle right?"
"Yeah, that is what yeh said when we met each other. It means non-magical people and since my parents are muggles, it means I am muggle-born right? And 'ow is that related to this?"
asked Donghae.
"There are people who believe that they are superior because they can do magic. They hate muggle and muggle-borns because of this. Some even believe they should get rid of all them. Voldemort was a leader of the group who caused a huge war a few years ago," explained Jungsoo.
"That sounds dangerous. Is the school safe? What if he comes back to harm yeh? I mean he might want revenge," asked Donghae worriedly.
"Even Voldemort has fear. Professor Dumbledore is the best wizard that is ever alive. As long as Professor Dumbledore is in school, then Hogwarts is the safest place in the wizarding world. Also, we were able to stop him once, so I think we will be able to stop him again," said Jungsoo.
"Yeah, I agree. We will be safe. Even if 'e does come back, we can stop 'im, right?" said Hyukjae.
"Yeah. Don't worry. We will protect each other," said Donghae.
"Alright, alright. Still, let's hope we won't have to face him directly. By the way, aren't you hungry? Can you wait for a while downstairs, I will join you soon," said Jungsoo. When Jungsoo noticed that Siwon had not gone, he said, "Why didn't you go downstairs? Oh, you have something to say. What is it? Go on, it's alright."
After a hesitation, Siwon asked, "When you mentioned Heechul, I had an odd feeling. Is Heechul's full name Hydrus Heechul Lestrange?"
Jungsoo tensed when Siwon mentioned the name. "Yes, he is. And?" asked Jungsoo.
Siwon sat down as he sighed. "I am just passing on what I heard from my father. You don't have to listen to it," said Siwon. "He told me to tell you that you were associating with a dangerous person and thinks you should be careful around him."
"I know what you are worried about but I can guarantee that he is not that kind of person. You know you should not judge people based on their parentage," said Jungsoo.
"I know, I was just worried. I thought my father was right until I heard your side of the story. You are right, our parents or house don't justify us. By the way, I am sorry if my father was rude to you," said Siwon.
"That is okay. He wasn't rude to me. It would be great if you can meet him," said Jungsoo. "Oh, by the way, if you meet him, don't call him Hydrus. He really hates that name."
"Oh, okay. I will. I also think it would be nice to meet him," said Siwon. "Come on, let's go down, they are waiting."
"Yeah, let's go down," said Jungsoo. Jungsoo looked around the house after telling Siwon to go downstairs first. He was worried as there was no news from Heechul. He expected that it would be hard for Heechul to contact him but it worried him slightly that he did not even answer his letters. Jungsoo decided to postpone writing his letter when he heard the boys calling for him. Letters can wait for a while. Nothing would happen, right?
While Jungsoo's house was full of laughter and talks, on the other side of the city, there was another person who was excited as he could get out of his house. His mother had decided to change the punishment from starving to grounding and having "ethic" lessons the next morning. Personally, he rather prefered starving. The new punishment meant that he had to listen to those absurd, horrific stories from his mother. So he was extremely glad when it was over. He quickly went out to the nearest muggle neighbourhood to enjoy his freedom. He was too absorbed in his emotion to notice there was someone coming towards his way. The boy tried his best to avoid Heechul but it did not work. There was a loud crash and they fell down.
"Sorry. I am so sorry. Are you alright?" said the boy as soon as he got up.
Heechul rubbed his head as he said, "It's fine. You really should be careful when you are riding that thing. What is it? Fickboard? What about you, are you alright?"
"It is called a kickboard and you were the one that was not looking properly," said the boy.
"Yeah, you are right. I should have been careful. I am sorry," said Heechul. He stood up after brushing off the dirt. When he looked at the boy carefully, Heechul's eyes widened in surprise. "You...you.. are," said Heechul.
The boy was equally surprised. "Hello, are you alright? I thought your father was very mad that day. Is it okay for you to be here?"
Heechul just shrugged and said, "I don't care what he thinks and I am fine. I am really sorry for what happened. By the way, what is your name, I forgot to ask it."
The boy messed with his red-brown hair before he said, "I am fine. It wasn't that bad. I am Ryeowook. What about you?"
Heechul took out his hand from his pocket to shake Ryeowook's hand. "I am Heechul, I thought I told you that. Forgot? That is fine. Let's be friends," said Heechul.
At that moment, another boy came running towards them as he called for Ryeowook. The boy scolded Ryeowook for going off without him as soon as he arrived. The chubby boy noticed Heechul after having a long lecture. Heechul merely smiled and waved at him as if it was just cute. "Hello. Sorry, I didn't know you were there. Are you friends with Ryeowook?" asked the chubby boy.
"No. We just met. But we can be friends now. I am Heechul, and you are?" asked Heechul.
"Hello, I am Shin, Donghee. I just live across the road. What about you?" asked Donghee
"I live in another village. It takes at least ten minutes to get there," said Heechul. The three of them were having a good time. Both Donghee and Ryeowook were polite people and both of them felt Heechul was a nice person. They were going to have a nice dinner near Donghee's house until he showed up.
"Oh, look who is here? Isn't it our dearest cousin, Hydrus?" sneered Draco. Heechul frowned. Why did he have to show up and ruin his mood?
Donghee and Ryeowook looked around the place, confused. "Who are you talking to? There is no Hydrus here, Malfoy," said Donghee. Shit, he knew who Malfoy was. Heechul had a dreadful feeling this might mean something bad.
"Why, I am talking to Hydrus, of course. Or you would know him as Heechul since that is his preferred name," said Draco.
Ryeowook, who was just confused and intimidated by the situation, said, "If he doesn't like his first name, then don't call him by the name. Don't be so rude."
"And what may you be? Oh, a mudblood. I knew your family had a liking for blood-traitors but this? Is your role model Weasley?" taunted Draco.
"Stop calling me that. I don't know what it is but I can see it is a bad word. Why do you and his father keep calling me that?" questioned Ryeowook.
"Father? What do you mean by his father?" asked Donghee. He looked threateningly at Draco as he waited for an answer.
"Oh, don't you know? I thought you all of the people should know. It is Mr Reticulum Lestrange, of course. But well, I am sure Heechul never mentioned him, right?" said Draco.
Donghee glared at Heechul, who tried his best to avoid it. "Lestrange? Lestrange? I know your family. They are worse than those Malfoys. I can't believe I allowed us to become close to you. Don't ever talk to us again. Come on, Ryeowook, we are leaving," said Donghee. He dragged Ryeowook, who resisted strongly.
When they were gone, Heechul punched Draco before shouting, "Happy, now? Are you satisfied?" Draco was about to hit back until he heard a voice from behind.
"And what is going on here?"
A deep voice caused both of them to look around. Lucius Malfoy was standing behind Heechul with a cane. He stared at them for a while before he said, "Draco, I thought I told you not to wander off. Hmm, well we shall see about that, later on. And you, Hydrus, care to explain what is going on?"
Draco smiled mischievously as he said, "Well, father, you would not believe what happened."
"Draco, I am sure Heechul can talk for himself. Can't you?" asked Lucius. Heechul remained silent and merely glared back at him. Heechul knew that it would not change anything but he did not want to give in. "Not going to say a thing. Well, then I am sure we can talk about it at your house. We were going that way, anyway. Lead your way. What are you doing? Get going," said Lucius. Heechul glared back for a while before walking towards his home. Tonight was going to be a rough night.
