Chapter 11: We won

All the Chitauri soldiers and flying creatures were powered down and they fell like lifeless corpses. Barry had done it, he'd saved New York from a nuke and the Avengers saved the world from an alien attack. Barry fell through the skies, unconsciously as the world blackened around him. Thor, Steve, Tony and Barton were on the ground while Natasha was on the helipad on top of Stark Tower, they all looked up and saw a falling red dot. Steve grinned with hope.

"Son of a guy." Steve said to himself

Barry continued to fall the hundreds of feet between the sky and the ground.

"He's not slowing down." Thor said swinging Mjolnir, ready to save his friend

Suddenly, Hulk jumped and caught Barry in his left arm as he used his right arm and right leg to slide down a building. He jumped and landed on a car, as he held Barry and put him down slowly.

Thor, Steve, Tony and Barton came in as Thor removed Barry's cowl, they all looked in horror as they saw Barry's still body until Hulk roared with anger. Barry opened his eyes and saw his fellow Avengers looking at him.

"Hey kid, welcome back from the dead." Barton said offering Barry a hand up

"Thanks for saving my ass." Barry said, looking at Hulk as he accepted Barton's hand up. "Did we win?"

"We won." Steve said as he looked at clear skies and dead aliens.

"Boom baby." Tony said to himself as he removed his helmet and threw it away.

"Where's Nat?" Barry asked

"I'm here." Natasha said into the comms as everyone looked up and saw Nat on the helipad. "Welcome back." Thor said patting Barry's back as Barry chuckled

"We're not done yet." Barry declared looking at Stark Tower "Loki."

"Now we're talkin'." Barton said

Loki crawled as he reached near the bar, he stopped for a second and looked behind surprised to find the Avengers looking down at him. Tony, Hulk, Steve, Barry, Thor, Natasha and Barton in front aiming an arrow at him.

"If it's all the same to you.." Loki said "...I'll have that drink now."

Barry and Tony looked at each other and nodded before looking down at Loki and smiling, Loki wouldn't be getting anything more than an asgardian prison, let alone a drink.

Back in the helicarrier, Fury listened to all the news reports. According to them, Barry (or as he was more commonly known as, the Flash) was the kids' favorite Avenger, Fury smiled at that comment. Though Barry would have a hard time living in a world that knew he was the flash was going to be hard for him, Fury and Coulson had been right to believe in him. Back on a bridge, Thor held Loki by the arm. Loki was in asgardian cuffs and had a sort of device on his mouth that stopped him from talking. At the same time, Tony held a briefcase as he came from his Ferrari. Steve got off of his motorcycle and walked forward towards Thor and Loki, Barry had just reached in a flash of lightning, Natasha and Clint came from a S.H.I.E.L.D. vehicle and Bruce Banner came from behind all of them. Dr. Selvig was also there, he held the machine that was going to be holding the Tesseract. Bruce used a pair of tong-like objects to grab and carefully placed it in the machine. Thor took the machine by one end as Loki held it by the other, Thor turned his end of the machine as he and Loki disappeared in a flash of blue. The Avengers then made their goodbyes to each other, Steve and Tony shook hands. Barry and Natasha gave a hug to each other, then he and Clint shook hands. Natasha handed Bruce a bag for him, Bruce nodded to signal his thanks. Bruce got into the Ferrari with Tony, Barry then took a pair of keys and pressed a button on it, suddenly a blue lamborghini came and parked near Barry on it's own. The car was Tony and the team's welcoming gift, though Barry didn't need it, he would still use it because he didn't always want to run around with his speed. Especially considering the problems of friction, Barry had trashed his old suit, mainly because Tony promised him a better one. Barry got into the car and rolled down the window as he looked to the left and saw Tony and Bruce. They had asked Barry to join them and Barry had accepted, the three of them both drove off in their cars as Steve rode off on his motorcycle.

Back in the helicarrier, Fury had been speaking with the World Council.

"Where are the Avengers? Where is Barry Allen?" the Russian representative asked

"I'm not currently tracking Allen, nor am I tracking the rest of the Avengers." Fury stated "I'd say they've earned a leave of absence."

"And the Tesseract?" the British representative asked

"The Tesseract is where it belongs, out of our reach." Fury answered

"That's not your call." Councilman Malick said firmly

"I didn't make it. I just didn't argue with the god that did." Fury said, talking about Thor.

"So you let him take it and the war criminal, Loki, who should be answering for his crimes." Councilman Malick said

"Oh I think he will be." Fury said confidently

"I don't think you understand what you've started." the British representative said "Letting the Avengers, especially Barry Allen, lose on this world. They're dangerous."

"They surely are, the world knows it." Fury said "Every world knows it."

"Is that the plan?" Councilman Malick asked "A statement?"

"A promise." Fury said

"What about Barry Allen?" the British representative asked "At least, tell us he won't use his abilities."

"That is his choice." Fury said, with a bit of anger in his voice "Not yours."

With that, Fury ended the call and walked out of the room as he walked down the aisle of agents working on their computers.

"Sir, how does it work now?" Maria Hill asked walking beside Fury "They've gone their separate ways. They're pretty and extremely far, if we get into a situation like this again what do we do?"

"They'll come back." Fury said simply

"What makes you so sure?" Hill asked

"Because we'll need them to." a familiar voice said from behind

Everyone stopped and looked to see an agent they never thought they would see.

"Welcome back, Agent Coulson." Fury greeted

"Good to be back, sir." Coulson replied "How's Barry?"
