A/N: Regarding Maura-sexual: I once had a girl tell me she wasn't gay or bi, but she was definitely Melissa-sexual. Would go same sex for me. Thank you for the reviews.

Angela had coffee and danishes ready for them, as promised. They came down the steps together and neither one of them could look Angela in the eye. Angela watched them with amusement.
Both where relieved when their respective phones rang.
"We gotta go, Ma. We gotta case."
They were almost at the door when Angela's voice stopped them.
"Maura, I'd like to have a word with you." Maura stopped and started to go back, when Jane grabbed her hand. "Now Maura."
Maura broke free. "It's ok Jane. Go on, I will be there shortly."
Jane looked at her mother. "Ma..."
Angela shooed Jane away and pointed to a chair at the table. "Sit." Maura gave a half nod and did as told. Angela placed a fresh mug of coffee in front of her and sat down across from her. She waited for Maura to take a sip of coffee.
"Maura, I want you to know that I want Janie to be happy. I want her to be in love with somebody who is worthy of her. Agent Dean was not. Charles was not. You? You are." She took Maura's hands. "I love you like a daughter. I don't want Jane hurt, but I also don't want you hurt."
"Angela, I don't think I understand. I would never hurt her. Not on purpose."
Angela smiled. "I know Maura, but Jane might hurt you. She tends to sabotage all of her relationships. I pray you are different, and I ask you to please be patient with her." She released Maura's hands. "I drug Jane and her brothers to church every Sunday. I think maybe Janie has always been at least curious about women. I don't care what any priest says, God doesn't love Jane any differently." She stood up. "Just be patient, and tell her when something bothers you. And if she hurts you, tell me. I'll kill her."
Maura stood and nodded. "I better go. There is a dead body waiting for me."

As Maura drove to work, she thought about her conversation with Angela, and decided she needed to talk to Jane.
Jane smiled at her as she made her way past the crime scene tape. Despite her best effort, Maura had a faint pink color to her cheeks.
After taking vitals and giving her imitial thoughts on the case, she caught Jane's eye and motoned for her to step away.
"Are you ok? What did Ma say to you?"
"Maura smiled up at her. "It was not unpleasant. She did give me some very good advice though."
"About?"
"You."
"Me? What about me?"
Maura stepped in closer to Jane. She placed her hand on Jane's stomach. "Let's talk tonight, over dinner at my place. Ok?" At Jane's scared look, she reassured her. "I just think we need to discuss our goals and intolerable acts for this relationship." She glanced around to see if anyone was watching them. Finding none, she leaned up and kissed Jane on the cheek. "Dinner, at seven."
As Jane walked away, she mumbled under her breath, "Intolerable acts?"

Dinner, Maura's House
Jane hesitantly put her key into the lock on Maura's door. Taking a deep breath, she opened the door and saw Maura bent over getting something out of the stove.
"Jane? Is that you?"
"Anybody else have a key to your front door?"
"Touche."
Jane watched her put the roast on the serving platter and then pulled the doctor to her. "I missed you today." She kissed her deeply and stroked her face. "How was your day?"
Maura moved around the kitchen, plating the food. Answering Jane and asking questions about her day. As the conversation flowed, they moved in harmony, never missing a beat. As they sat down to eat, Maura stopped and stared at Jane.
"What?"
"I just realized how in sync we are. You know what I am going to reach for before I do, and I know what you are looking for before you do. Yin and Yang."
Jane smiled and grabbed Maura's hand. "Made to fit together."
They lapsed into a comfortable silence. As Jane finished eating, she pushed her plate back and looked at Maura. Maura tilted her head, considering her words.
"Jane, where do you see this going?"
"...uhm, I...well...I don't know. I mean, we just started this." Jane considered what she had said. "Officially. As in dating." Jane was growing frustrated. "Actually Maura, I think we've always kind of been in a relationship, just no sex. Does that make sense?"
"Lesbian bed death."
"What?"
"When a long term lesbian couple has outlived the passion of their relationship, but stays together more as friends than lovers. Lesbian bed death. IT would seem we did LBD first and passion second."
Jane chuckled and took Maura's hand. "I can't imagine a day when I would never want to make love to you. So to answer part of your question, I think I see us being lovers forever."
"Ok. Anything else?"
"I...don't...know." Her eyes narrowed. "Where do you see this going?"
"I see us having a future together. Living together, building a life together. Being committed to each other." Maura looked down as she said the next bit. "Possibly having a family." Maura chanced a glance at Jane. The detective seemed to be considering what Maura had said. When minutes passed and Jane had said nothing, Maura continued. "Jane, there is one thing I will not tolerate, in any way." She waited for Jane to look at her. "Cheating, infidelity, an affair. Understand?"
Jane nodded. "I've never. Would never."
"Jane, I do need you to promise me one more thing."
:Anything."
"Please, don't hurt me. I couldn't handle that."
"Never."
They began clearing the table and Maura rinsed the plates before handing them to Jane to put in the dishwasher. Once they had finished, Jane started for the living room.
"Jane? Where are you going?"
"The couch?"
Maura was standing on the first step, unbuttoning her shirt. "I'm going up to bed. You should come with me."
Jane watched as Maura slipped the shirt off her shoulders, went up another step, stopped, undid her bra and tossed it at Jane. When Jane still hadn't moved, Maura undid her pants and shimmied out of them, taking her panties with her.
"Jane, I really like sex. I love making love with you, and the more practice you get, the sooner I can go back to being a bottom. For lack of a better term."
"I knew I was the guy!"
With that, Jane ran up the steps and picked up Maura, carrying her into the bedroom. Maura helped her quickly undress, and they made love.
As they lay entangled in the darkness, the sweat cooling on their bodies, Maura asked one last nagging question.
"Jane, how do you reconcile this, us, with your religious upbringing?"
Jane flipped them on their side and was quiet for a brief moment.
"Maura, I believe in God. I know you don't, and that would be something to be discussed if we have children. But Maura, how can love, in any form, be wrong?"
Maura smiled as she repeated Jane's words. "If we have children?"
"I may have thought about it a few times. And I had already planned on raising...my baby, with you."
Maura flipped them so that she was cradling Jane. She could feel the detective's shoulders shaking and knew her friend and lover was crying for her lost child for the first time.
"Shh. I've got you Jane. I've got you."
