Bella didn't looked shocked at the fact that Cherry was ready to talk about Edward. That didn't surprise Cherry, she knew that Bella would have been at home thinking about Edward Cullen all day.

"What do you want to know?" Bella asked walking towards her bedroom.

"Oh gee, I don't know. How about we start with the fact that you said Edward Cullen stopped a van with his bare hands like some kind of Superman." Cherry said sarcastically.

Bella rolled her eyes and gestured for Cherry to sit down. "I've already told you, but I'll tell you again so you know I wasn't just concussed."

Cherry sat down in Bella's desk chair and sighed. "Okay, tell me again."

Bella sat down opposite Cherry on the end of her bed. "When you had walked out and started making faces at me in the parking lot, do you remember that?"

"Of course, the whole day will be burned in my head for fucking years I'm sure." Cherry muttered.

"Okay but right before you came out, I was staring at Edward Cullen. Edward was standing right beside his car all the way across the parking lot. He wasn't even close to me and the red beast."

Cherry cracked a smile at the name they had started calling the truck. "Go on."

Bella pulled at her hair nervously. "Well right after I looked away from him I saw you. Right after that is when Tyler's van came at me. All of this happened in under a minute easily. But then right when I thought I was actually going to be dead, Edward was there and he put out one hand and stopped the whole entire van, Cherry. The whole thing with one hand. Then he literally just jumped from in between the truck and van and left."

Cherry took a minute to process all of the information that her sister had told her. Bella had said it once before but she had a concussion and Cherry didn't take it to heart then.

"So what did Edward say to you yesterday at the hospital?" Cherry questioned her sister

Bella shrugged. "He asked if I was okay."

Cherry narrowed her eyes. "Did you tell him you saw him stop a van with his bare hands?"

Bella turned red. "Well.. yes. But I had to know how he did it!"

Cherry scoffed, "If he really can do that then do you think he would actually tell you?"

Bella frowned at her sister. "No but it was worth a shot! I almost died and he saved me, don't you think I should know how or why?"

Cherry shook her head. "I think you should have just said thank you and moved on."

Bella shook her head. "It not good enough for me. I have to know, you know that."

Cherry disagreed, "It's not your right to demand answers, Bella. What if it's something we don't want to know. What if it's not just Edward, what if they're all weird? You just need to leave it alone."

"I understand where you're coming from, Cher, I really do. This however, isn't something I'm willing to leave alone." Bella told her sister strongly.

Cherry sighed. "Okay. If that's how you feel then okay." Cherry stood up and smiled at her sister. "I have to get ready for the senior thing at La Push. I'm taking the beast but I will return it in one piece."

Bella snorted. "If I didn't kill that thing then I doubt you will."

Cherry left and went to go get ready. She was actually excited to go to La Push. She hadn't been since she had come back to Forks. Bella and her used to be frequent visitors to the reservation. Bella to hang out with Jacob Black and Cherry to hang out with those two and often times Leah Clearwater.

Cherry left before dark to get to the reservation, it was a little bit of a drive. Kendra was meeting her there a little later as she got stuck attending a family dinner first.

Cherry didn't have much of a hard time finding the reservation, it was almost a straight shot down the long single road that lead from Forks.

When she pulled up there were already a good bit of people hanging around, both kids from the reservation and from Forks.

Cherry felt slightly out of place as she walked along the wet sand trying to find a familiar face. Now more than ever she cursed Kendra for being late, despite how good her reasoning was.

"Hey, Swan!" a voice yelled, cutting through all the chatter.

Cherry turned her head towards the bonfire where Grant stood talking a what looked like a few of the locals.

Cherry walked over with a smile on her face. Grant wasn't the first person she would choose in a crowd of people to talk to, but she was happy to not just be wandering alone anymore.

"Hey Mills, you happy with how your little party turned out?" She teased

Grant laughed as he handed her a red cup that looked to have some weird punch mix in. "I wouldn't call it a little party considering how many people showed up."

"Us locals love any excuse for a party." Chimed in the boy to Grant's left.

Cherry supposed boy was probably an unfit term for a man this size. He was well over six feet tall and had more muscles on one arm than she did on her whole body. It wasn't only him though, the other boy standing on Grant's right was the same size just a little shorter. Cherry couldn't help but wonder what was in the reservation water to make the local boys grow like that.

"I think that's everyone. Small towns with nothing to do, people get bored." Cherry reasoned.

The russet skinned man shrugged. "You can't beat that kind of logic." He stuck his hand out for Cherry to shake. "My name's Jared. That guy over there is Paul." He said pointing to the other man. Then he gestured to a pretty girl next to him who had shining brown eyes and beautiful long hair. Her nose was slightly wide but she had a beautiful and shy smile. "This gorgeous lady right here is my girlfriend, Kim."

Cherry smiled at the slightly shy girl. "Nice to meet you Kim, my friend Kendra isn't here yet and I was afraid I'd get stuck with only Douchebag Mills as my company."

"Hey!" Grant protested loudly

Kim broke into a loud laugh and Cherry was happy at the fact that at least she could make somebody else laugh that wasn't her sister or her small friend group.

"It's nice to meet you too, Cherry. I live for the nights where I get to have the company of people other than just this lovable buffoon next to me." She said with an adorable nudge to Jared's side.

He looked down at her so lovingly that Cherry almost felt she should look away, as if she was intruding on a special moment.

"Well enough with that lovey dovey shit, let's get to the fun stuff." Paul demanded loudly.

Grant lifted his beer high into the air "Everyone to the Pong table!"

"Oh you're going down Pale face!" Paul yelled grinning.

Everyone walked off from the fire except Kim and Cherry decided that it would be best to stay with her. She wasn't opposed to drinking, but she did drive there and she had figured that Charlie had dealt with enough daughters in car accidents lately.

Cherry sat on the log next to Kim and looked at the fire for a second. Kim was staring at her boyfriend who was yelling at Paul to get his head in the game.

Cherry broke their comfortable silence after a few seconds. "I hope it's not weird to say as a stranger, but the way Jared looks at you and the way you look at him make the hopeless romantic in me feel content."

Kim let out a small laugh and smiled brightly at her. "I don't think it's weird at all." She paused before picking at a the ends of her hair nervously. "Jared and I have been in the same classes since the third grade. Small town and all I suppose. We never really interacted through the years, I always had my head in a book and he was always just the class clown."

Kim stopped fiddling with her hair and looked at Cherry directly with bright eyes. "One day at the beginning of this year, our senior year. He walked into our Chem class and it was like fate put us together."

She laughed at herself before continuing. "I know it sounds so stupid but as soon as he sat next to me and as soon as we started to get to know each other, well we just realized that we are perfectly suited for each other in every way."

Kim shook her head and put her hand over her eyes. "That was so weird to dump on a stranger I am so sorry."

Cherry laughed loudly at the girls mortification and waved it off. "No it's okay, it's nice to hear about things like that. It's always a much better conversation than either the weather or school... Besides, if there is anything I believe in, it's definitely fate."

Cherry couldn't help but think everything that she had just said was incredibly accurate. It was almost funny to her now that people referred to fate as some kind of joke. She supposed she couldn't blame them, she also used to think that everyone chose how their lives would turn out. Who knew that their destinies were already pre determined by cosmic forces. What a fucking concept.

Cherry was brought out of her thoughts by a familiar voice yelling at her across the beach.

"Cherry Swan! Are you really just sitting there like a loser on a log when a party is happening?"

Kendra was walking up with a big smile on her face.

To Cherry she looked ridiculous with a big jacket wrapped around her and a huge beanie that covered her head all the way almost down to her eyes.

"I know that you aren't coming for me right now, stay puff marshmello man." Cherry joked back at her friend. "Besides, I was making friends with Kim in your absence." She said gesturing to the girl next to her.

Kendra plopped right next to Cherry and smiled at Kim widely. "I'm Kendra, it's nice to meet you. I'm glad that this weirdo didn't scare you away.",

Kim laughed at Kendra's jokes at her friend's expense, "No issue at all really. If anything it's usually me who scares them off."

"If this fucking psychopath didn't scare me off then you definitely wouldn't, Kim." Cherry quipped.

The girls settled into a comfortable conversation until Jared walked back over and sat next to Kim.

"Kendra, this is my boyfriend Jared." Kim introduced.

Kendra wiggled her fingers in greeting. "Nice to meet you."

Jared nodded in greeting and turned his attention back to Kim. "Do you need anything?"

She shook her head at him and smiled, "No thank you."

After that Jared stuck around for the conversation with the girls. He said that the games between Paul and Grant were getting boring for him and that he'd rather spend his time with Kim.

"I'm surprised we didn't see Nate tonight. I knew Josh wouldn't show since it isn't his thing but usually Nate us down for a party." Kendra mused

Cherry shook her head. "Nah, Jenna is sick right now. I'd bet my money he found his way over to her house tonight."

Kendra laughed and agreed with her. "You're right. I don't see him passing up that opportunity to be here. As long as he doesn't fuck it up with that big mouth of his anyways."

Kendra's eyes scanned the people on the beach. "No Cullens either, but I guess that was to be expected."

Jared's eyes narrowed at the name of the Cullens. "They don't come here." He said firmly.

Cherry raised her eyebrows at the sudden change of tone.

"Well they seem nice enough, Cherry here talks to Jasper and Alice all the time." Kendra reasoned.

Jared stood up quickly. "If you knew what was good for you, you'd stay away from them."

And with that he walked off from the three girls and into the trees lining the beach.

Kim stood up abruptly after and gave the two girls a tight smile. "Thanks for the conversation tonight, but that is my cue to leave. Hopefully I'll see you guys again soon." Then she took walked away and to her car.

Kendra whistled lowly. "Well that was weird."

Cherry couldn't help but agree, it was weird. What about the Cullens had him so angry. Not to mention the fact that he said she should stay away from them. The only question was why? First Bella's encounter with Edward and now the warning from Jared. She couldn't help but feel that the Cullens were in fact a little suspicious. What was so different about them that was so bad? More importantly did she even want to know?

Well one thing was for sure, if it involved her destiny she would know more. If not, then she could just mind her own business and focus on her own thread of destiny.

Cherry looked at the time and then at her friend. "I better get home before the police chief of Forks sends his best officers to fetch me."

Kendra nodded, "Good idea. I think I'll just go hang out with Grant for a little while. I'll see you at school?"

Cherry nodded and with that she left her friend to drive home. In all honesty she could have stayed a little later but really she couldn't get what Jared said out of her head. What Cherry had decided she needed, was to talk to Bella.

Cherry parked the beast in the drive way and walked into her house. Her dad was asleep in front of the TV like usual and she covered him up with a blanket before heading upstairs.

The light was still on in Bella's room so Cherry knocked softly on her door.

"Come in."

Cherry opened the door to see Bella sitting on her bed with her old and worn copy of Wuthering Heights.

Bella smiled and put her book down. "Hey Cher, how was the party?"

Cherry plopped on the end of her sister's bed and shrugged. "It was alright, I met some locals and hung out with Kendra."

Cherry paused and took a deep breath. "Bella, I can't believe that I'm telling you this, but one of the locals, Jared... Well he said that if I knew what was good for me I'd stay away from the Cullens."

Bella's eyes went so wide that if Cherry didn't have such a weird feeling in her gut she would have laughed at her.

"I told you something was off about them." Bella insisted.

Cherry nodded, "Well I think you're right, and as much as I don't wanna know what it is, I have a feeling we are going to find out."

Bella scoffed "Don't sound so foreboding, what if they're superheros or something."

Cherry rolled her eyes, "My money is on the or something."

Cherry got up off her sister's bed. "Try to get some sleep Bells, mystery solving requires rest."

Cherry left her sister and went to her room. Cherry was apprehensive, if she could die and then exist in an alternate world then what other mysteries were out there.

That was the thought that plagued her sleep that night.
