A/N: And here we (almost) are! I decided to post thrice in one day so that I could post the first episode tomorrow. Hope you don't mind.

This one was super fun to write, and is brought to you mostly by Visser2315's reimagined Eclipse. As some of you probably guessed, this will be the Samantha/Elliot/Leo love triangle backstory. Man is it confusing.

One point I have to make is that I hate imprinting. I despise it with a passion. So I got rid of it!

Also, so much fun to write with Paula and Janie (our female Jared). I've always loved their dynamic, and wish that we could have gotten more wolf banter.

Ack! One final thing! SM said that female Seth's name was Sarah, but I know about five different girls named Sarah, so I decided to change her name to Selene. Not only is Selene the goddess of the moon in Greek mythology (moon, werewolves, you get me?), but her nickname gets to be Leeny. It's just too cute to change.

Note: small amount of cursing from Janie. (Like, super small)

INT. THE BLACKS' HOUSE, FIVE YEARS LATER

Bonnie sits in a wheelchair. JULIE BLACK sits at the kitchen table, her face scrunched in concentration as she choppily carves a shape out of wood. Julie is a tall, Native American, teenage girl with long black hair. She is almost always smiling. Bonnie's phone RINGS. The screen reads:

five years later

BONNIE
(into the phone)
Hello?

CARINE (O.S.)
(from the phone)
Hello. Is this Bonnie Black?

BONNIE
Yes, this is Bonnie. Who's asking?

CARINE (O.S.)
My name's Carine Cullen. Does my name mean anything to you?

BONNIE
Yes.

CARINE (O.S.)
That's good. It makes it easier for us to fulfill our duty.

BONNIE
You're coming back.

CARINE (O.S.)
Yes. I know this must be...unpleasant for you to hear. But I assure you that your tribe is in no danger, nor are any of the people in Forks. We have not changed our ways. We'll be living outside Forks. I'm not sure how well you know the agreement -

BONNIE
I know it.

CARINE (O.S.)
Of course. We know it very well, too. You have nothing to worry about. I'm sorry for any distress this causes you, but we will not impact your people in any way. Our current plan is to live in Forks for about a decade. My children will be attending the local high school. I don't know if any of your tribe's children come up to the school -

BONNIE
No.

CARINE (O.S.)
Well, if anyone wishes to, I can assure you it will not be unsafe. Let me give you my number. We'd be happy to have a more cordial -

BONNIE
No.

CARINE (O.S.)
Of course. Whatever makes you most comfortable.

BONNIE
How many?

CARINE (O.S.)
Pardon me?

BONNIE
How many of you are there?

CARINE (O.S.)
Two more found our family many years ago. There are seven of us now.

EXT. FORKS HIGH SCHOOL, FORKS, WA - DAY

The school is a large, red, brick building. Trees, bushes, and other foliage surround it on all sides. A large parking lot sits in front. Earnest pulls a minivan into the parking lot. Edythe, Archie, Eleanor, Jessamine, and Royal get out; they all have backpacks on. Text on screen reads:

Forks High School

Forks, WA

INT. HALLWAY

STUDENTS crowd the hallway. Edythe walks down the hall, her backpack on. JEREMY STANLEY walks up to her, smiling. Jeremy is a short, African-American, and very sociable fourteen-year-old boy [in later episodes, he is seventeen].

JEREMY
(charmed)
Hi.

Edythe stops and turns around.

JEREMY (CONT'D)
I'm Jeremy Stanley. You're...Edythe, right?

EDYTHE
Yeah.

JEREMY
(suggestive)
Okay, well, if you need anything, just come to me. I'll make it better.

Edythe nods, then turns and starts to walk away.

JEREMY (CONT'D)
Actually, uh...

Edythe stops, snaps her fingers close to her thigh, and turns around.

JEREMY (CONT'D)
Maybe I could show you around town one day. We could get dinner, maybe...

Archie and Jessamine walks up behind Edythe.

ARCHIE
This guy bothering you, Edy?

Edythe shrugs. Royal and Eleanor step in between Edythe and Jeremy and cross their arms. Jeremy takes a step back. Royal leans in slightly.

ROYAL
(menacing)
Boo.

Jeremy turns and runs away. Eleanor and Royal turn around.

ELEANOR
Let's go to lunch.

Edythe nods. She, Archie, and Jessamine turn around. The siblings walk down the hall.

INT. LUNCHROOM

Circular tables are scattered around the room, filled with STUDENTS. Edythe, Archie, Jessamine, Eleanor, and Royal walk in. Edythe nudges Jessamine. Jessamine walks over to a table of SENIORS and sits down next to them. She puts her chin in her hands and leans forward. The Seniors look at her, wide-eyed.

JESSAMINE
Move.

The Seniors walk away quickly. Edythe, Archie, Eleanor, and Royal sit down at the table.

EXT. FOREST - DAY

SAMANTHA ULEY walks through the forest. She is also known as Sam, she is very tall, with long black hair. She is Native American and seventeen [in later episodes, she is nineteen]. Text on screen reads:

Samantha Uley

La Push, Quileute Nation

two years ago

Sam stops in her tracks. She touches her forehead gently, like she has a headache. Suddenly, she gasps in pain, clutches her forehead, and falls to the ground.

PAULA LAHOTE (V.O.)
Sam was the first of us to change. But she had it a hundred times worse than the rest of us, because she was alone, and didn't have anyone to tell her what was happening. Her grandparents died before she was born, and her mom was pretty flighty. She took off less than a year after Sam was born, and didn't even bother to tell Sam's dad about the possibility of the change before she went. The first time it happened - the first time Sam phased - she was sure she'd lost her mind.

EXT. FOREST, TWO WEEKS LATER - DAY

Sam, sits on the ground, thoroughly freaked out. Her clothes are in strips and her hair is tangled and full of leaves.

PAULA (V.O.)
It took her two weeks to calm down enough to change back. But there was already a search for her.

EXT. STREETS OF LA PUSH - DAY

Houses surround the street on one side, the forest on the other. THIRTY SEARCH PARTY MEMBERS meander about, calling Sam's name. A police cruiser sits nearby, Charlie hovers over a map of the forest. SEVERAL FOREST RANGERS stand nearby, organizing some of the Search Members into groups. LEO CLEARWATER, SELENE CLEARWATER, HOLLY CLEARWATER, and SAUL CLEARWATER are also there, Leo increasingly worried and babbling. Holly is attempting to calm him down. SAM'S DAD stands near the forest's edge, calling out Sam's name and trembling with fear. Sam's Dad is a middle-aged Native American man.

PAULA (V.O.)
Her dad - usually quiet, mellow kind of guy - had the rangers out combing the forests, and the police were involved. She'd always been big on nature and hiking, so they thought she might have gone out and gotten lost, or an animal had gotten her, or that she had been raped and murdered. It's not that uncommon for us. Leo Clearwater, Sam's long-time boyfriend, was out of his mind, he was out there himself whenever he got the chance, always down at the police station to see if they had any news.

INT. LIVING ROOM, THE ULEY HOUSE

The room is sparsely decorated, with a couch and fireplace across from each other. A chair sits nearby, and a dining table with chairs surrounding it sits behind the couch. Sam sits on the couch, thoroughly spaced out. Sam's Dad walks in the room, sees Sam, and rushes over to her.

PAULA (V.O.)
And then, Samantha miraculously reappeared.

FADE TO:

INT. LIVING ROOM, THE ULEY HOUSE, SEVERAL HOURS LATER

Sam and Sam's Dad still sit on the couch, a blanket around Sam's shoulders. Charlie sits in an adjacent chair, attempting to get Sam to talk to him. Sam stays silent.

PAULA (V.O.)
But she wouldn't say a word about where she'd disappeared to, not to anyone, and all kinds of rumors flew, everything from she'd been abducted by some psycho to she'd run off to a big city somewhere to live the wild life.

FADE TO:

INT. LIVING ROOM, THE ULEY HOUSE, SEVERAL DAYS LATER

Sam's Dad stands nearby, hovering over papers at the dining room table. Sam lays on the couch, wearing a t-shirt and shorts with a book in her hands. The doorbell RINGS. Sam's Dad answers the door; QUILLA ATEARA III stands on the other side. Quilla is an old Native American woman with long silver hair. Sam's Dad shakes Quilla's hand and lets her into the house. Quilla walks over to Sam and shakes her hand. As she does so, Quilla gasps.

PAULA (V.O.)
Luckily, Quil Ateara's grandmother came over for a visit to see Mr. Uley one afternoon, and when she touched Sam's hand, she knew - the werewolves were back.

FADE TO:

INT. LIVING ROOM, THE ULEY HOUSE, SEVERAL HOURS LATER

Sam sits on the couch, in the same clothes as before. Holly sits next to her on the couch, with Quilla in the nearby chair and Bonnie in her wheelchair.

PAULA (V.O.)
Things were a little better for Sam after that. The three elders - Old Quilla Ateara, Bonnie Black, and Holly Clearwater all had seen their grandmothers make the change - for Quilla, her mother - and they knew all about the Quileute bloodline's weird powers. So they met with Sam and explained everything. She knew she wasn't going to be the only one affected by the vampires' return, so she simply waited - to see who would be next to change. But she couldn't tell Leo a thing. She wasn't even supposed to be around him, she wasn't in control yet. But she went to see him anyway. Even though she couldn't tell him anything, not where she'd vanished to for two weeks, not where she went every night, and not why she was so tired all the time, she did whatever she had to just to see him. Leo hated it - he wanted to know what was happening so he could help her. But, he cared about her enough that when Sam asked him to just trust her, he did.

INT. LIVING ROOM, CLEARWATER HOUSE

The room is small and carpeted. A couch sits in front of a TV. ELLIOT YOUNG and Leo sit on the couch, talking. Elliot is a handsome, young, Native American man with long black hair.

PAULA (V.O.)
Well, while all this was going on, Elliot Young - Leo's cousin - came down from the Makah reservation for a visit. Leo confided in Elliot what had been going on and Elliot saw just how much of a toll it was taking on him. The longer time went on, the more Leo was starting to think Sam was involved in something really dangerous.

EXT. STREETS OF LA PUSH - EVENING

Elliot walks down the sidewalk quickly, shivering from the cold in his thick jacket.

PAULA (V.O.)
Elliot wasn't usually the interfering type, but Leo was like a brother to him, and he made up his mind to do something. He thought if he could only meet Sam, he might convince her to tell Leo what was going on - if only she knew how hard all this was on him. Elliot had never met Sam, but he probably kind of felt like he knew her, because he'd heard so much about her from Leo. It was the same for Sam - she'd never met Elliot, but she'd heard about him from Leo.

EXT. ULEY HOUSE - EVENING

The house is small, with a thick garden in front. Sam exits the house and heads toward the forest, wearing a thin t-shirt and shorts. Elliot passes the house, spots Sam, and tries to stop her.

PAULA (V.O.)
So Elliot went down to the Uley house, and managed to catch Sam just before she was about to leave on her nightly patrol. She tried to brush him off, but he kept at it, and convinced her to take a walk with him.

EXT. FOREST - EVENING

The forest is thick and dark. Sam and Elliot walk down the path awkwardly.

ELLIOT
This is really hurting Leo, you know. How you're treating him. He feels like you're pushing him away, like you can't trust him anymore. You can't keep so many secrets from Leo. Why are you doing this to him? Why are you hurting him? If you just trust Leo, I swear to you, he's not going to let you down or love you any less.

SAM
Mind your own damn business.

Sam turns to leave, but Elliot grabs her arm.

ELLIOT
(furious)
How - when Leo loves you so much - how can you not care?

Sam explodes into wolf form.

CUT TO:

EXT. FIRST BEACH, PRESENT – DAY

PAULA LAHOTE and JANIE CAMERON sit on a piece of driftwood. Paula and Janie are both Native American girls with black hair. Paula is quite short, with short hair, while Janie is incredibly tall with two long french braids.

PAULA
Elliot was lucky he wasn't killed. But he was still badly hurt. Samantha...she still has nightmares about that night. She'd never really realized just how dangerous she was until she saw herself hurt somebody - somebody that Leo cared about. She phased back almost immediately, but she was crying, almost hysterical - she carried him to the medical clinic on the reservation, without even thinking about how people might wonder how she could be so strong. Leo found out about it. He understood that Sam blamed herself, even though everyone was told that Elliot had been out on the edge of the woods, and a bear had mauled him. Again, Leo knew there was something Sam wasn't telling him, but like always, she didn't say anything.

INT. LIVING ROOM, CLEARWATER HOUSE, THREE YEARS AGO

Elliot sits on the couch, Quilla and Holly on either side of him and Bonnie in her wheelchair. Sam stands in the corner of the room. The right side of Elliot's face has three long claw scars, still pink and new.

PAULA (V.O.)
Meanwhile, the three elders met with Elliot. They explained everything, and he was sworn to secrecy, just like Sam.

INT. LIVING ROOM, CLEARWATER HOUSE, SEVERAL HOURS LATER

Sam and Elliot sit on the couch.

ELLIOT
I know you blame yourself. But it's not your fault. I brought it on myself, if anything.

SAM
But you still think I should tell Leo, right? Tell him what I am?

ELLIOT
No. I don't think you should. Let me handle it.

SAM
You don't have to do that.

ELLIOT
I know. But I want to help you guys get through this.

INT. LIVING ROOM, CLEARWATER HOUSE, SEVERAL HOURS LATER

Elliot and Leo sit on the couch, Elliot trying to console him.

PAULA (V.O.)
Elliot did everything he knew to try to help their relationship. He encouraged Leo, kept telling him to just keep supporting Sam, trust her, and she was one of the best people he could know.

EXT. FIRST BEACH, PRESENT – DAY

Paula and Janie sit on the driftwood.

PAULA
I think, in the end - and Sam thinks, too - it was the fact that Leo didn't know, and Elliot did. Leo did his best to support her with what he knew, but just the fact that she had to keep the secret from him was a strain on her. But Elliot was supportive, kind, understanding - he was doing it for Leo's sake, trying to stand in for Leo and doing what he knew Leo would want done for Sam if only he could know the secret, and maybe because Elliot's just a nice guy. But at some point - I don't think any of them knows just when - things shifted. Sam changed, and it was Elliot's support she needed more than Leo's.

Janie shakes her head.

JANIE
They were like brothers. Maybe her intentions weren't bad, but...how could she...?

PAULA
It's not what you think. Sam didn't just call Leo up one day to break up and flit on over to Elliot. See, Elliot and Sam were probably in love long before either of them realized it - and it was Leo who saw it first.

INT. FRONT ROOM, CLEARWATER HOUSE, THREE YEARS AGO

The doorbell RINGS. Elliot walks up to the door and opens it. Sam stands on the other side. They both smile and look down when they see each other. Leo walks into the room from the other side and pauses when he sees them.

PAULA (V.O.)
He'd always been pretty good at reading people, and he saw the shift as it was happening, but he couldn't do anything about it. He did his best to pretend it wasn't happening for awhile.

EXT. FIRST BEACH, HOURS LATER – DAY

Sam and Leo walk down the beach, distance between them.

PAULA (V.O.)
But eventually Leo made the decision to leave her - he left her so she wouldn't have to continue to feel bound to him. Leo broke up with Sam, and he told her the reason why - that she was in love with Elliot.

SAM
What? That's ridiculous, Leo. I'm not - it's not true!

LEO
Yes, it is. I could see it. You're in love with Elliot. Go...be happy. That's all I've ever wanted for you.

EXT. FIRST BEACH, PRESENT – DAY

Janie and Paula sit on the driftwood. The screen reads:

First Beach, La Push

present

JANIE
Damn. Cool story. So, Paula, right?

PAULA
Yeah, don't rub it in.

JANIE
Believe me, I won't. When do I actually get to meet Sam?

Paula looks down the beach, where Sam and Elliot walk toward them, hand in hand.

SAM
Janet Cameron?

Janie nods.

SAM (CONT'D)
Welcome to the pack.

ELLIOT
You have a lot to learn.

A/N: Love triangle fixed. Is it weird that I always imagined that Sam/Samantha's mom/dad was a lawyer? Probably.

I love Elliot and Sam together, and writing their scenes are so much fun. Also, don't worry. I'm definitely working in a happy-ever-after for Leo.

Anyways, the next one will be the last, and it's going to be fun.
