I had a dream where I was at the library. It was just me at first. I was searching through the aisles for a book. I didn't know exactly what I was looking for, but I knew that I would find it. At last I spotted it. A hardbound book with golden lettering, the title was impossible to read but I knew it was a classic. I sat down against the bookshelves and started reading. The pages were blurry and full of nonsense. I finished it and glanced up to see another girl grabbing a book from in my aisle. She turned towards me and I saw that it was Sharon. I waved her over. She smiled and sat down beside me. The sun coming through the window glinted off her glasses in a way that made her look angelic. There was no dialogue, but we laughed about something. Our hands were intertwined together against the rough carpet. There was no drama, everything was right with the world. Then I woke up.

"Ugh." I muttered after the realization of my situation set in.

Thankfully it was the weekend now. I wouldn't have to deal with the pressures of revenge or being perfect for a couple days. I got out my phone and texted Sharon 'I had a dream about you last night'.

She responded rather quickly, 'was it rather witchy?'

'Maybe I could tell you at the park?'

'Public place, remember?'

'What high school students or faculty are going to be at the park on a weekend?'

'Fine, I'll meet you there in half an hour.'

I quickly got dressed in a pair of skinny jeans and a yellow tank-top. I applied some mascara and flounced downstairs. I shrugged on my converse and yelled that I was going for a walk. I swiftly walked over to the nearby park and hoped that I wouldn't be too late. I spotted her looking around wildly near the entrance to the park. She wore a gray t-shirt with a pair of baggy brown pants. I snuck up on her from behind and grabbed her shoulder. She jumped away from me and had to level her breathing while I giggled.

"Cady Heron, never do that again."

"Okay, but no promises."

She narrowed her eyes.

"I'm kidding, I won't."

"Good."

We started walking through the trees.

"So what was that dream you had about me?"

"It's not as fun as you think."

"I still wanna know what it is."

"You and me were just reading and talking in a library and it was cute and romantic and stuff. You looked absolutely ravishing though."

"Ravishing, huh?"

"Completely mesmerizing."

"That's something I've never been described as before."

"Well it's true, how could everyone else not see that about you?"

"Guess they never really look at me the way you do."

"I'd much prefer my way of looking at you then."

Her eyes glanced sideways at me inquisitively. "Did you always know you were into girls?"

"I guess, in a way. I kind of grew up around a lot of people who didn't really view sexuality the way people here do. It was mostly just that you fell in love with whoever you did. My parents raised me to believe in that pretty strongly. I rarely fall for people though, it was mostly guys for a while. How about you?"

"I didn't always know. I was around your age when I fell for my best friend. One day we kissed and she told me she thought she was into girls. I told her she was the first person I had romantic feelings for. We dated for a year before her parents found out and transferred her to a different school. My parents weren't exactly proud either. To be honest, I got married to a guy at first to make my parents happy, but I don't really like guys."

"What about your second marriage?"

"It turns out that she was cheating on me with her doctor. It was really fun to come to another woman on top of my wife in my living room of all places."

"Ouch."

"For a little bit after that I wondered if my parents were right to be disappointed in me."

"That's dumb."

"Wow, thanks. You really know how to make a girl feel special."

"Hey," I lightly smacked her.

"Ow."

"That did not hurt."

"No, but it was fun to see you consider if it could've."

I rolled my eyes.

"Why do you want this Cady? Why are you not worried about the consequences?"

"Because I've never felt this way about anyone before. Sure I've had crushes, but it was all just nervously and blushing, you give me butterflies."

"You give me butterflies too."

She wrapped her hand around mine, intertwining our fingers. Her hands were cold and a little rough, but mine were warm and soft. A perfect match.

We continued to walk and talk for about an hour before I decided to head back. The birds were singing, mockingbirds, and the trees were swaying in the wind. It wasn't a library, but it was still just as beautiful. A beautiful day spent with a beautiful woman. I still wasn't free from the drama, but Sharon was my peace, my eye of the hurricane.
