A little more than two years have passed and little has changed in the world's landscape. Amber and Five still traveled together and helped the other to survive in the apocalypse. Dolores was still with them and she served as a friend for both teens, who were now both 18. She would often tell the two teens just to settle down already, which both teens were deciding internally when they should admit they liked each other.

Time had impacted the two teens in their looks, which made their attraction to one another harder to resist by the passing days. Amber grew more into her looks despite the apocalypse, getting a bustier chest, nice hips, and a renewed light in her amber eyes, eyes that often-made Five's heart skip a beat. Her hair was still long and a bright red but jagged at the ends since Five trimmed her hair with his knife. Five had a growth spurt and he was a head taller than Amber now. His voice settled in a deep tone but still had some of his youthful tone from 15. He wasn't scrawny but he wasn't a body builder either but he still had a charm to him despite the fact both of them were somewhat suffering in the hygiene department. His eyes were still a rich chocolate brown that melted Amber's heart whenever he looked her way.

Five and Amber approached another small city and that meant hunting for materials. This had become a routine for them since they always were on the hunt for food and resources. Amber glanced over the landscape and had a good feeling about today's hunt.

"Meet back here before sundown?" Amber asked.

Five didn't like when they had to split up. Amber could burn anyone if anyone were still alive to try and have their way with her, but being a young man, he still worried about having a young woman be on her own.

"Holler if anything happens." Five stressed.

Amber's eyes were soft yet comforting and she reassured him with a smile.

"I will Five. No worries. I've never felt stronger or more alive." Amber mused to him.

Five and her chuckled since she had a reason to feel so. He had trained her well in hand to hand combat over the years since she needed a way to defend herself if her powers were burnt out. Five couldn't help but have his eyes linger over her. She wasn't just a teen anymore, but a woman and Five thought she was beautiful even in ragged and big clothing. He felt tightness in his pants and he swiftly turned around so Amber wouldn't see his little problem.

"Shit." He cursed under his breath, causing Amber to be concerned.

"You okay Five? Are you still hurting from our spar session yesterday?" she questioned.

"I-I'm fine Amber. Go off and search. I'll hang around here and start making a camp before setting off."

Amber didn't want to leave him but she knew better than to argue with him. He did have a bit of a temper and she really didn't want to get into a spat with him.

"Alright then Five. See you later."

She blew him a kiss to be cute before starting to dart off into a direction of a destroyed grocery with her cart. Five sat down a bit and glanced at Dolores.

"Okay fine I got aroused okay! Say it any louder and she'll hear you." Five snapped.

He took a deep breath and calmed down. Five got up and started to make camp while he and Dolores chatted. Of course, the talk shifted to how he should make the move as a man and admit that he loves her. Dolores even assured him that they were the last two humans so it would be natural for them to settle down together. Five sighed since he was getting more feelings for her and not just strictly romantic feelings. He vowed that wouldn't be the reason to compel him to admit his feelings and really there were so many more reasons he wanted her.

"I know Amber's the only woman around but I don't want her to think it's just from a primitive need that I want her. She's smart, athletic, witty, crude a bit at times but I love that about her. Her eyes give me hope, her warmth soothes me, her fires never fail to keep her warm, and she's such a darling to me. I want her to be happy as much as I want to be happy." Five rambled.

Dolores didn't respond but Five did hear her speak.

"Okay yes she does have more than nice eyes and smile. Her hair is stunning, skin's pretty soft looking…she does have a nice rack…Don't you dare tell her I was looking at her breasts. Though her ass is fine too, very fine. Shit don't tell her about that too. Great, I sound like a horny pervert ogling at her body and I really hope she's not listening now."

She didn't answer but Five sighed.

"I know, how long was I going to pretend that Amber being here wouldn't be convenient for me…that way but I do love her so much. In this world we can't cross a line we both won't cross. If I tell her I love her and she doesn't, we're both fucked. We are stronger together than apart and…it would kill me if she left me or didn't feel the same." Five expressed to her.

He looked to Dolores and he nodded at her.

"Yeah, I know, how will I know if I don't even tell her. Amber has stuck with me so there must be some feelings, right? I'll tell her soon just don't tell her okay?"

Five went to make the camp looking pretty nice. There was some old pillow and blankets that would do for some comfort for the night and he got a nice pit going for Amber to form a nice fire. He needed to go to see if there was anything else, he could scavenge or find for the three of them tonight. Five noticed Amber coming back and he checked the sky.

"You're back early, the sun's still high in the sky." He grinned.

"Yes, well I thought you would still be here making camp and I was right. Not much in terms of food but it will have to do." Amber replied.

Five checked her cart and there were only a small amount of canned foods and some dead insects. He sighed but he nodded.

"I'm going out to find some water and other materials. Watch Dolores okay?" he asked as he settled her on a pillow.

Amber nodded and smiled at Five. He'd come a long way from the teen with a boyish charm, but he was slowly becoming a man with very sensitive features. Amber didn't have feelings of woe or sadness about trapping herself here, but something to live for and this made her the strongest she's been.

"I'll watch her, you take care." Amber told him.

"Alright, see you both soon."

As Five left to check out the stores, Amber's eyes lingered on his ass. She felt a tingling sensation and a roaring feeling in her throat. Man, Five had a nice ass she thought. She felt someone was laughing at her and looked at Dolores. Amber rolled her eyes and flipped her off.

Okay he does have a bit of a temper, a bit arrogant, and maybe a bit of a smart ass with me but he's better than no one at all. Who else would take them under their wing and not just jump them for sex? Five's a gentleman and…the best man I've seen in my short life."

Of course, Dolores said nothing but Amber sighed.

"It's not just a primitive thing you know. He just has the traits that are amazing for a man and easy on the eyes too. He's helped me with my powers and my grief so he's very sensitive to my needs."

Dolores just stood there and Amber growled.

"What he has a nice ass, I'm not lying about that. I just…want him to think I'm a lady and not just about sex you know. I just want him to like me and I don't want to ruin things." Amber rambled.

She used her powers to create a very large fire in the fire pit Five made for them. She stared into the fire and thought perhaps she saw an image in the flames. The only things she thought she saw were a man and a woman kissing, causing her to smile.

"You're right Dolores. I can't hide my feelings for him. Better not to leave things unsaid." Amber said.

Sundown came and Five returned with some old books and wood to burn, some bottles of water, and other small tools for the night. They opened up the cans and ate with gusto. Five's stomach turned since he was trying to figure out how he was going to tell Amber his feelings without sounding just like he's horny.

"You know when I was tending the fire, I thought I saw an image of two people kissing." Amber told him.

"Sounds a bit like bull shit to me unless your mind was thinking about that recently." Five said with a grin.

Amber chuckled as she took another bite of her baked beans.

"Yeah maybe; but seeing how we've seen no one alive these last three years really makes me think no one else is alive right. Meaning…there wouldn't be any competition for you." Amber smirked.

Five took a deep breath but to his embarrassment he let out a loud blech. Amber just smiled and sat closer to him, resting her head on his shoulder as she watched the fire. Five blushed but he felt at ease with Amber. They were past laughing and making fun of each other when human gasses were passed, but neither of them batted an eye. There was comfort there and that was what Five loved more than anything about Amber. Amber loved that despite how gross and disgusting she looked, Five treated her like a lady and made sure she was okay, something not even her parents did. Both of them were messed up but their pieces oddly fit together.

"There's something I want to talk to you about Amber." Five started.

"Funny I was thinking the same thing Five but you first." Amber answered.

Five's throat grew dry but he needed to push through it.

"I'm just going to cut to the chase or I'll just be rambling all night. Ever since you emerged from the fire, life for me got so much better. This isn't paradise sure but you being at my side has made me be able to thrive and have hope in this life again. What I want to say is…I like you so much. Not only as a friend but you know how a man likes a woman in romance."

Amber just smiled at him and soon was sitting on his lap. Not subtle she knows but this would at least let him know without words that those feelings were what she felt too. She wrapped her arms around his neck and cuddled the side of it, causing Five's heart to skip a beat.

"I've always had these feelings for you Five, just wanted to get to know you instead of jumping to you since you were a guy you know. A lady needs to really think and assess a man before making the moves you know? I didn't want to seem desperate for you even though deep down I was falling for you so hard."

"I was falling for you too. I just wish you told me sooner and not keep this game going for three years." Five chuckled.

Amber stroked his cheek and smirked ever so slightly at him, staring at his lips with hungry eyes.

"Well it's a game in which both of us won so…"

Amber placed her lips on his and Five soon joined into the kiss. Amber ran her fingers in his longish shaggy hair while Five supported Amber by grabbing her ass. He couldn't help but give her ass a tight squeeze and Amber moaned loudly.

"Touch me again Five." She moaned as she tugged on his hair.

Five moaned at her tugs but squeezed her firm yet soft butt once more. Their kiss soon deepened into a passionate French kiss with their tongues exploring the other's mouths. Neither of them didn't care that their dinner that night had been baked beans, cooked roaches, and canned cream corn as they explored the others' mouths thoroughly with their tongues. Both of them pulled away and both of them couldn't help but feel extremely warm and aroused. They both glanced at Dolores who just sat there watching them.

"Hope you'll get used to this Dolores." Amber cheekily told her.

Five chuckled.

"Oh, sure you would watch us, go right ahead." Five grinned.

Amber cackled and kissed his lips once more.

"Guess we have another way to kill time huh?"

"Very true, but a good way to kill time." Five responded while kissing her neck. He felt frisky and nibbled at her neck causing Amber to squeal.

"Five!"

"Amber." He groaned seductively.

Amber motioned his head off her neck and pecked his lips. Amber thought about their day and she understood why Five was 'in pain' earlier and chuckled as she kissed his neck.

"You got hard, earlier didn't you?" Amber accused with a grin.

"Oh, like you're all innocent. I felt your eyes on my ass while I was leaving." he whispered seductively in her ear.

Amber turned a bit red but nodded since she was being a horny woman looking at his ass earlier.

"Always attentive, I like that in a man." Amber chuckled.

"And I like my woman with a sophisticated yet somewhat cheeky humor."

Both of them chuckled and embraced one another. The air felt a bit chilly, causing Five to shiver. She was going to love their cuddles even more now that they admitted their feelings to each other.

"Cuddle with me tonight Five. It will add to your warmth." Amber told him.

Five didn't argue with her and they got settled on the ragged blankets and pillows. He embraced her and pressed his body against hers. Amber smiled as she felt Five's strong arms around her.

"I love you Five."

Five froze for a moment but he soon cuddled more to her and kissed her neck. Those four words melted his heart and he nuzzled her neck. He didn't have to fear saying those very same words since Amber felt the same way.

"I love you too Amber."

Both of them fell asleep together and their newfound love and body heat kept them sleeping soundly. A fire burned brightly in both of their hearts and despite the hell they lived in, hell got a bit more heavenly with the love for each other keeping them going.
