Interlude
By:Jace
As Freyr rematlierzed back aboard her ship she immediately sent a signal to Sif's vessel asking for her to join them here. As she did that she set up a quantum frequency scan of the stations and all inhabitants and of the other vessels she had noticed undocking from the smallest of the stations in the system. Then making trips to and from the nearby asteroid belt. Also sending a message for her old friend Heimdell to review the recordings of the meeting. As Sif's ship dropped out of hyperspace both Tyr and Sif transported aboard. They had been monitoring the entire conversation
"These humans are interesting, to have solved the problem that is now killing our race in only a few clone generations. Though i wonder if it will be of any help to us?" said Sif the youngest of the three.
"I have already sent Heimdell a record of the meeting. I hope he will be able join us soon." Freyr replied.
"He will not be able to I have received orders to return to Hala if they proved non-hostile to fight the Replicator they are making a push along the eastren border systems." Stated Tyr
"He could use the Stargate if the Earthlings approve of it, since they seem to be in procession of it." stated Sif.
Before anyone else could speak the computer notified Freyr that the scan was complete. With just a minute to look over the data Freyr eyes go wide. "They lied to us when I returned to my vessel, I ran a quantum frequency scan of their vessel and stations there is no variance. They are from this quantum reality we must…." Freyr had started to say
"They didn't lie to you old friend, they just didn't think you would believe them if they told you the truth." said Ganos Lal as she appeared in a flash of light startling the small gathering of Asgardians.
"An ascended being! How is it possible that you have come before us," Freyr asked, "is not direct intervention and interaction with the mortal planes against the rules that govern your kind Ganos Lal?"
"The rules have been changed for there are things happening in the larger universe that the Asgard are not aware of yet, events that necessitated our involvement and in our creation of the capsuleers and bringing them to this point in time." Responded Ganos
"What could cause you to change your rules now?" asked Sif, wondering what could be so dreadful that the ascended would violate their own, previously sacred, rules on non-interference with the mortal world.
"An enemy we thought vanquished long ago, before we even left our home galaxy, has returned and is laying waste to the universe. An enemy that will not even be slowed by the Replicator let alone the Goa'uld They are drawing closer to this part of the universe, at their current rate of advance they will reach this galaxy within less than ten years."
"This is terrible. But why are you interfering now and helping the humans? Why didn't you interfere and give us the information needed to fight?" asked Tyr slight upset that there ancient allies thought so little of them
"Simply put, that planet is unique in the galaxy; the dimensional barrier on the surface is so weak that it has caused a mutation allowing humans to access this dimensional energy to a degree that allows them to channel the power of True Deities to do incredible things. Things that even if we pulled all the power of every ascended we would be unable to do. So we manipulated events to create what you see before you. Though this wasn't even our primary plan this was a quick change due to unforeseen circumstances that unfortunately cost the lives of some of the humans in order to put into place." Ganos replied with a note of sadness entering her voice as while the death of the chaos mage Ethan Rayne was unfortunate it had been unavoidable, as had the deaths of some of those caught up in the crossfire of the spell and who'd died or suffered life threatening injuries as a result. In fact she believed that the Earth people had a term for such unfortunate but unavoidable casualties, collateral damage.
"I see but for some reason you must need our help also?" asked Freyr.
"Yes, But creating the capsuleers was the only thing we had left to even give the universe a fighting chance" responded Ganos
"Then we must tell the humans and help them." Said Sif
"No the humans can't find out yet, there are things they must do before they find out and the Asgard must keep this a secret til they complete those tasks and find out on their own." responded Ganos
"Then what do you want us to do?" asked Freyr
"Help them, those people on that planet and especially on that space station are our heirs. Heirs who now have jumped twenty-thousand years of advancement in just a few days not only in technology but wisdom thanks to this spell and that young man you have met. Honor the Great Treaty and contact the Nox for they can help with what is to come. The humans of Earth, while they are not there yet, have the potential to become the fifth race. You will both need to guide them for if they fail then all of us mortal and ascended will surely perish." Said Ganos before vanishing
For a few moments the three Asgard looked at one another, all three deeply concerned by what the ascended being had just shared with them. Finally Freyr spoke up. "This is very serious, we must contact the High Council immediately," she said with the other two nodding so she immediately opened a channel back to Odin and the others.
"Freyr you indicated it was urgent when you initiated this transmission." said Odin
"It is we have much to tell but to lead off an ascended that just visited us aboard my ship." Freyr proceeds to inform the rest of the council on the conversation that had just taken place.
"This is an unforeseen event but we will honor the request of the Ancients. Tyr, you will return to Hala at maximum speed and pick up Heimdall and some of our scientists and engineers, dropping them off with Freyr and then returning to the fight with the replicators. Sif you go to Gaia and speak to the Nox Elders, inform them of what has transpired here and ask for their help. Thor we must push back the replicators and buy the time needed. Freyr establish a treaty with these humans, be fair, but do not let them on to what the ancients said." Said Odin
"Understood" replied Tyr and with that Tyr transported back to his ship and jumped to hyperspace.
Sif just nodded and teleported to her ship and set course for Gaia
With that Freyr disconnected the transmission and set there on her throne deep in thought while she waited for the humans to invite her back aboard their station.
AN: here is a small interlude that that takes place between chapter 9 and chapter 10. I've had to rewrite chapter 10 several times and its been slow going im currently hoping to have it out by the end of the year.
