"That Mike?" Aden watched Kate decline the phone call for the tenth time
"Could be" she placed her phone back down
"Are you going to answer it?"
"Nope"
"Kate.."
"Can we just not discuss my problems with Mike" she shook her head
"He's been calling non-stop for the past hour"
"And for the past hour I've been getting to know you" she shrugged
"Am I going to have to kick you out?"
"You can try but given my combat training I don't think you'd win"
"Fine" he huffed
"Now, tell me what's this big job you're here for?"
"I can't disclose that information"
"Even to your own sister?"
"Especially to you" he fiddled with his own phone
"This business Marcus dragged you into is it dodgy?"
"Oh you know Marcus, nothing was ever straight forward with him"
"Still it must have been nice you know, growing up with a Father"
"Have you ever thought of tracking him down, I mean Mum used to tell you stories right?" Aden asked nervously
"I don't really know anything about him you know, all Mum ever told me was that it'd been a one-time thing and he was married part of a large family"
"Like wealthy large?"
"The way I grew up no I doubt it'd be anything like that" she shook her head
"The name McGregor, it was his right?"
"Bout the only thing Mum lost the fight over, apparently his family demanded if I was his kid I had his last name"
"And you've never met him?"
"Thirty five years and I have absolutely no clue who my father is" she smiled sadly
"Kate there's something…" he began saying when a knock at the door interrupted them
"You're a busy man today" she teased when he moved to stand
"Just give me a sec" he made his way towards the door.
"Dion.. what are you doing here?" Aden looked in surprise at the man standing on the other side
"Boss send me to eliminate the target, since you weren't doing the job" he pushed his way into the room
"I will get it done I just need time" Aden grabbed his arm
"We don't have time, the Boss wants proof within twenty-four hours that Kate McGregor is dead"
"Keep your voice down" Aden scowled
"Wha… she's here? Are you?" he pulled his arm out of Aden's embrace
"It's not what you think"
"You were sent to find and eliminate the target not seduce her into bed"
"I did not do anything of the sort!" Aden huffed when Dion pushed past him further into the room
"Hello" Kate jumped in surprise when a man entered with Aden following behind
"Sorry I wasn't aware Aden has such beautiful company"
"Pfft right, um look Jellyfish I'm going to head off something about some missing paperwork at the boat I need to sort out" she placed her phone in her pocket
"I'll walk you out"
"No that's not necessary you stay, I'll be fine"
"You sure?" he brushed the back of his neck nervously
"Absolutely it was nice to meet you" she took a quick glance at Dion
"Likewise" he nodded taking up her previous seat, a click of the door indicating she'd left
"So Jellyfish, I think you've got some explaining to do" Dion turned to look at him.
Making her way along the Navy docks 30 minutes later Kate sighed slightly when she spotted Mike standing near Hammersley in his best 'going out' outfit
"What's all this" she stopped keeping a fair distance between them
"Wasn't sure if you'd show up"
"Swain texted something about some missing paperwork" she shrugged
"Ah yeah… that was me"
"God Mike…"
"What was I supposed to do you weren't answering my calls"
"And there's a reason for that!" she huffed turning and walking back towards the car park
"Kate!" Mike called following after her
"Just leave me alone"
"We need to discuss this" he skidded to a holt when she turned to face him
"I do not want to discuss anything with you"
"Please, can we just have lunch forget for at least a few hours that this morning ever happened?"
"Why, what are you up too?"
"You'll just have to wait and see" he held his hand out hopeful
"Two hours, that's all I'm giving you" she placed her hand in his getting a special Flynn smile off him in return,
he pulled her back towards the end of the dock where Kate had finally noticed a small gazebo set up with rows of flowers and the inside decked out with a table and fairy lights
"You did all this?" they stopped at the entrance
"With some help from 2Dads and Swain"
"2Dads helped willingly?" she grinned when he let her hand go and picked a single rose from the flower bouquet
"I used my CO voice" he held out the rose for her
"Mike…" she reached for it
"You said I get two hours, if two hours is all I get to celebrate our Anniversary then I want to make it extra special" he let the rose go when she had a grip on it,
pulling another flower from behind his back he placed it behind her left ear his thumb skimming across her cheek when he pulled back
"Thank you…" she smiled sadly
"Shall we?" he motioned towards the table
"This is all so…" she looked around at one side of the gazebo that was completely covered in pictures of them over the years including their very first ultrasound photo hanging next to their wedding picture
"Curtesy of Bomber, you know what she's like with that bloody camera" Mike pulled out her seat
"It's beautiful" she sat down slowly smiling sadly when he moved to sit across in his chair.
"Now I had Bomber rustle up some of her famous Lasagna because I know how much you love that and…" Mike reached a hand in the middle of the table
"Mike…" Kate placed her hand on his stopping him
"Is something wrong?" he looked at her confused
"Why would you do all this, after the way I treated you this morning"
"Just because you wanted to murder me dosen't mean I stopped loving you" he teased
"I'm sorry…" she pulled her hand back sadly
"Hey…" Mike shifted to knell next to her chair she turned to face him "Three years ago, I vowed to be with you through sickness and in health that meant through arguments, hormonal breakdowns, your constant teasing" he held her hand in her lap
"Mike…"
"You will always, always be my number one priority no matter how much of my pig headedness gets in the way of that you somehow seem to see past it.."
"Believe me sometimes it's not so easy" she grinned
"The day you agreed to be my wife was the day I knew our future was only just beginning, you are my wife and I would never change that I would never wish to take that back" he teared up when she moved her hands placing them on his cheeks
"But you don't trust me, you don't trust my judgement" she slowly continuously brushed her thumb against his cheek
"Kate all I want to do is keep you safe and of course I trust in your judgement but when it comes to Aden I just… I get a bad vibe"
"You don't know him…"
"I know and if he proves to me he's not here to hurt you then I'll give him a chance just please… please keep an open mind about all of this" he begged
"As long as you promise to do the same"
"I'm sure I could be persuaded"
"Hmm" she grinned leaning down teasing him into a kiss
"I love you" he whispered pulling back from the kiss
"As much as I'd love to continue this I'm hungry"
"That Lasagna does smell really good" he looked up at her with a cheesy grin
"I love you so much" she smiled down at him
"But in this case you seem to love food more" he laughed when her stomach grumbled
"It would appear so" she moved her hands off his face when he moved to stand
"Lets dig in then" he began serving up the food,
Kate adorning a big smile at the way he was making sure she had enough to feed her and the baby.
