Life killers chapter 12: War of malice

Antimatter in his robot suit called two droids.

Antimatter: You two went with Steven, now did he find the prisoners.

Droid soldier: Statement-He seems to have vanished and also the crystal gem ship left the hangar.

Antimatter: We need to assume then that Steven failed I want a platoon ready to invade the surface.

Droid soldier: Acknowledgement-Right away.

*Inquisitorius destroyer 29: dragon*

Strawberry walked up to the transmitter.

Strawberry Quartz: Yes Antimatter?

Antimatter: Look I need a favor, the prisoners have escaped so we are going to take the surface. I need you to be on standby in case my droids need reinforcements.

Strawberry Quartz: Of course I'll help.

Antimatter: Get ready for orbital invasion positions.

The transmission ended and Strawberry got to the bridge and gave her crew their orders.

*Beach city*

Lars, Sadie, Greg and Connie were at the big donut talking about what happened to Steven when they saw a ship land and out emerged the gems. The four humans ran to the ship because of their curiosity and saw the gems exit.

Lars: What's going on?

Greg: Where's my son?

They then saw Rose holding an unconscious Steven in her arms.

Greg: Rose!

Rose Quartz: I failed.

Connie: They're alive?

Sadie: Wait how!

Lars: So they're back from the dead!

Rose Quartz: He never died he just broke and he tried to kill us all.

Greg: Wait where's Steven's hand?

Connie: Yeah.

Rose Quartz: It was cut off.

Greg: WHO DID THIS?

Rose Quartz: I don't know but I think he did it willingly.

Lars: Why?

Rose Quartz: I don't know-

She then sensed Antimatter coming closer.

Rose Quartz: We need to evacuate the city.

Greg: Why?

Rose Quartz: They're coming.

Lars: So like that giant hand?

Rose Quartz: No worse.

Connie: I-I'm staying. This is my home.

Sadie: Me too.

Lars: Fine I guess I'll help too.

Greg: Yeah I'll help too, I won't abandon you again Rose.

Rose Quartz: Well I guess I can't talk you out of this.

*later*

The city save for the mayor and a few stubborn residents were evacuated. Greg, Connie, Lars and Sadie were outfitted with weapons and armor that Bismuth forged and were ready for battle. The gems placed Steven in the hospital with Ruby, Sapphire, Lapis, and Bismuth to guard him.

Peridot: Remember we don't know what they'll send after us.

Connie: We're ready.

Peridot: I made this shield to defend against orbital bombardment.

Peridot activated the shield making a large bubble around the whole city. The two destroyers moved into position.

Lars: Okay why am I seeing a skeletal kraken and a skeletal dragon?

Garnet: Those are their ships.

The dragon destroyer attempted to fire upon the city but the shield held up.

*Inquisitorius destroyer 35: Kraken*

Droid crewman: Tactical analysis-Strawberry's bombardment failed.

Antimatter: Use the Antimatter cannon.

Droid crewman: Alert-But sir that could destroy the whole planet!

Antimatter: Use single quark ignition.

Droid crewman: Acknowledgment-right away sir.

The kraken ship fired black blast from one of it's tentacles and destroyed the shield.

Peridot: Oh no.

Five metal cylinders landed on the shore and a bunch of droids emerged and began to fire upon the group.

Sadie: Okay this is more than I bargained for.

Peridot: Don't worry I made this mini shield for us.

Peridot activated the smaller shield and the blasts failed to penetrate the shield.

Lars: Ha ha we did it!

That was short lived as a droid with a minigun came forward.

Connie: You jinxed it.

Pearl: Oh clod.

The droid began to fire upon the shield and of course the shield was destroyed. Peridot used telekinesis to throw three droids at the advancing platoon.

Peridot: We need to fall back.

The gems retreated in the town but while running a droid shot Greg in the leg and Rose helped him get to safety. While in pursuit the droids passed a tavern and a drunken man with a gun exited.

Drunkard: Hey what are you guys doin here?

He shot a droid but the bullet bounced off and the droids gunned him down with no remorse whatsoever.

Droid scout: Query-I cannot detect the insurgents in the town.

Droid commander: Command-Get incinerator droids here to burn them out.

*In a building*

Pearl: *Pant* *Pant* We can't let them get Steven.

Greg: Don't worry I *Agh*

Rose Quartz: You need more time to heal.

Greg: I am strong enough to protect my son.

Amethyst: Guys do you smell something burning?

The group looked out the window and saw their building along with a few others on fire.

Lars: We're all gonna die!

Sadie: We have to leave.

Connie saw a helicopter coming towards them.

Connie: Look a helicopter we-

As soon as she said that the helicopter was shot down by a missile and crashed into their building.

Missile droid: Acknowledgement-Aircraft destroyed.

Incinerator droid: Commentary-That airship didn't hold the insurgents.

Rose Quartz: We need to leave.

The group made their way into the lower levels but the flames caused the boards to become unstable and cave in and Pearl, Amethyst, and Rose fell to the bottom of the building.

Rose Quartz: Are you guys okay?

Greg: We're fine. Go, we'll meet you up ahead.

The four humans tried a different way and came across the wreckage of the helicopter.

Lars: I wonder who piloted it.

Sadie: Look we just need t-

The wreckage was then lifted up and thrown aside by Corrosive.

Lars: Jesus Christ!

Connie: S-Stay back!

The zombie just began to walk toward them and in response they tried to escape. They then found a fire escape and quickly ran down it got away as the building came down.

Lars: So when did Mr. X become a crystal gem?

Sadie: I'm no-

The wreckage of the building exploded and the Corrosive walked out of it and began to walk towards them.

Greg: Uh oh.

Connie: GO!

The group began to run but Greg with the wounded leg fell behind and Corrosive easily captured him.

Connie: Mr. Universe!

Corrosive struck Greg in the head knocking him out and he then turned his attention on the others.

Connie: Stay away from him!

Corrosive just began to walk towards them again and they couldn't go back for Greg because three droids emerged from the building's wreckage.

Lars: I'm sorry but we need to leave him, we can't face gem Mr. X.

The group ran away.

Droid soldier: Query-What do you wish to happen to the human?

Corrosive: Take him to a torture facility.

Droid soldier: Acknowledgement-Yes sir.

The group passed an alleyway and a criminal gang emerged.

Criminal: Oy gimme that armor.

Lars: No this is our only defense against those droids.

Criminal: It'll be ours soon enough!

The wall behind the alleyway exploded and A rocket launcher droid, a heavy droid, and an incinerator droid entered the alleyway. Before the criminals could react their bodies were mutilated by the droids.

Rocket droid: Commentary-You three have been spotted working for the crystal gems, you will now be terminated.

Lars: NO!

Lars fired a blast from his arm cannon right at the Rocket droid's weapon which was loaded causing it to destroy all three droids.

Sadie: Wow.

Connie: ...

Lars: I just lasered those droids out of existence!

A red dot then appeared on his chest.

Connie: GET DOWN

Lars noticed it and quickly ducked saving himself from the blast.

Lars: Okay we need to run.

The group began to run away and they noticed a criminal gang firing upon a droid but doing no damage. The droid then powered it's incinerator and burned the gang to the ground.

Connie: We gotta find the gems.

They turned and saw the mayor looting a store.

Connie: Hey you can't do that.

Mayor: Hey it's everyone for themselves and now you seen to much.

The mayor pulled a gun but Corrosive just sneakily walked up behind the mayor and punched his head off.

Lars: OH SHIT!

Sadie: RUN!

Connie: No I'm fighting this thing.

Corrosive then began to laugh.

Connie holding her spear charged at the zombie and swung at it a few times but the warrior just tanked it and then he proceeded to grab her neck chocking her. Sadie then attempted to punch the zombie with her gauntlets but Corrosive grabbed her neck and started to choke her too. Lars then fired at the zombies gem shattering it.

Connie: *Gasp* Thanks la-

They then saw the gem particles disintegrate and reform causing the zombie to stand in front of them. Corrosive

Sadie: H-how!

Lars: RUN!

The group began to run and while they were running they saw people getting killed, droids running rampant and places being burned down.

Connie: Is this the end?

Lars: It appears so.

They then saw the crystal gems.

Connie: Hey!

Rose Quartz: Finally we were so wor- wait where's Greg.

Lars: A guy gem took him.

The gems were then scared.

Connie: Yeah and that gem survived being shattered.

Pearl: You came in contact with Corrosive!

Sadie: Yes and we heard him mention something about a torture facility.

Rose was horrified at that statement because Corrosive probably gave him to Antimatter and he was known to push the limits of someone while torturing them and he usually got what he wanted and then killed them by consuming their life force.

Rose Quartz: Did you hear where they were headed.

Sadie: No-

A woman with a bleeding side wound came up to them.

Woman: You gotta help *Cough* me there's two droids after me.

The wall next to them was busted down and Corrosive emerged and grabbed the woman and snapped her neck.

Corrosive: Where is the boy?

Amethyst: We'll never tell.

Corrosive materialized his jamadhar.

Corrosive: Oh well you had your chance!

*The hospital*

Lapis: I wonder was what he said true could I have prevented this from happening?

Ruby: Maybe he was right about some things.

Sapphire: Ruby his weapon was manipulation and lies.

Ruby: Maybe but what if he's right and you only fused with me for your own gain.

Sapphire: You know that's a lie.

Bismuth: Wait, don't you see this is exactly what they want, they want us to doubt ourselves because our bonds make us stronger than them.

Ruby: Still I'm skep-

They heard a window break.

Sapphire: did you he-

A grenade went off scorching the area of the building they were in.

Droid grenadier: Direct hit. Send a squad to investigate.

Lapis used her powers to put out the flames.

Bismuth: Good save Lapis.

Lapis: Yeah putting our a few flames was no pr-

The door was kicked down a two droid soldiers and an incinerator droid entered the room.

Droid soldier: Demand-Surrender.

Bismuth punched a droid soldier knocking it backwards, in response she was met with a barrage of flames burning her which caused her to be poofed. Lapis attempted to combat the incinerator droid but she was shot in the arm by the other droid soldier.

Ruby: We need to protect Steven.

The droids then realized they found the kid.

Droid soldier: Statement-Commander we found the kid he's in the hospital.

Corrosive: Good.

*The city streets*

Corrosive: The droids have revealed where Steven is.

Amethyst: You're bluffing!

Corrosive: Really? He's in the hospital.

Pearl: Oh no.

Corrosive: As much as I want to kill you all I have more important duty's. Squads five through eight advance to Steven's location the rest keep the gems busy.

Rose Quartz: NO!

She charged at Corrosive who just kicked her backwards.

Corrosive all units activate bombardment shields.

Pearl charged at Corrosive who easily punted her.

Corrosive: Strawberry fire upon the city.

Corrosive ran away and the gems looked up and were met with a barrage of lasers.

So this chapter was really fun to make for me because I put the gems in a Resident evil 2 like scenario. Will the gems survive? Find out next time on this fanfic. I do not own Steven Universe this is just a fanfic.
