"H-hello…" Conan and Heiji said at the same time. Heiji's eyes on Kazuha's angry face while Conan's eyes on Ran's angry face and her belly.

"Heiji, Conan-kun. You know that eavesdropping is bad, right?" Kazuha said, smiling at them while cracking her knuckles making the two boys stepped back a little. Then Kazuha moves forward to them then give them what they deserved.

While Kazuha is busy with them, Ran prepared tea and snacks for her guest. After a few minutes, Kazuha is finally satisfied with what she had done and happily eating her snacks while the two boys just sit on the sofa. But Heiji got the most punches because Conan is just a child to Kazuha.

"Thanks, Kudo for dragging me to this." Heiji whispered, groaning in pain.

"Nee-chan, your belly. It's that Kudo's?" He asked.

"Yes, it's his." She answered flatly.

"Did you already contact him? I mean did he know?" he muttered, glancing at Conan whose eyes are still on Ran.

"No. Not yet. He… he's nowhere to contact, right now." Ran answered, avoiding their gaze as Kazuha put a hand on her hand, squeezing it lightly. Ran smiled as she felt her support.

"I'm sure that Conan-kun can help you! I'm sure he will call him and he even might show up. Right, Conan-kun?" Heiji suggested but to his surprise, Ran's tears began to form in her eyes.

"Shit! What to do?! Oy Kudo do something" he panicked, looking at Conan.

"You're right, Hattori-kun. I think it's time to talk to Shinichi right now. Conan-kun, will you help me?" Ran said, looking at Conan while wiping her tears.

Conan felt that all eyes were on him. He felt the pressure. "S-sure." he replied.

Ran gave Heiji a cue to leave them alone, he nodded. He went to Kazuha, "W-what are you doing, Heiji?" she asked.

"Sorry, Kazuha but they need to be alone. We're going home now." He answered, quickly lifted Kazuha, and put her on his shoulder. She tried to protest but Ran already waved them. She closed the door then looked at Conan with a stern look on her face.

"R-ran-neechan…" Conan started, reaching to Ran as he trying to embrace her. Ran took a step back.

"Why are you stepping back? Why didn't you tell me? Don't you trust me? Did I do anything bad again? Please tell me." He pleaded.

"The question is, don't you trust me at all Shinichi?" she asked straight forward.

"W-what are you talking about? I can call Shinichi-niichan if you want." He lied.

"There you go lying to me again." She said coldly. "I knew you're him. Those scratches on your back. I saw them. There exactly just like Shinichi when I left him." She continued.

Conan removed his glasses then looked at her. "What about you? You've also lied to me. Not just once. Going to gōkon, meeting other guys behind my back, what else? I know when you're lying Ran." he said sarcastically.

"Of course, the great detective can sense it when the person is lying. But you know that you're a great liar too. You're very good at it. Very professional." Ran answered back then she felt a little pain in her stomach.

Conan saw that she groaned a little. He approached her. "Ran… Ran I'm sorry that I lied to you. I'm sorry for hurting you, I didn't mean to do that… it's for your own safety. I did that to protect you, please believe me." He begged at her.

"I know that, and I believe you. I know that you didn't mean to hurt me and I know that you're sorry for lying to me." She said, smiling at him. His eyes filled with hope.

"But you know that your ways broke my trust in you. Lying to me to protect me, from what? Why don't you tell me anything? Do you think I can't protect myself? Do you remember me crying? Was it funny to see me crying desperately for you?" she continued.

"I can explain, but not right now because those guys who did this to me are still out there. I need to capture them. Now that there's two of you, I don't think I will be able to live myself if something bad will happen to both of you. I promise that I will tell you everything when the time comes." Conan explained.

"No, stop it! I don't want to hear it! I don't want to hear any more excuses." She cried, covering her ears.

Disappointed in himself, he started to tear up too. "R-ran… I—"

"Please leave..." She muttered coldly which makes him froze.

"Alright, I respect your decision but please remember that I did all of these for you. For your safety. And right now, I'm going to protect the two of you and you won't be able to stop me. I'm the father and still have the right." He said walking towards the door, but he stopped.

"Before I leave, can I touch it? Your tummy?" he requested, expecting that he will be rejected but to his surprise, Ran motioned him. He walks toward her then puts an ear and hands to her belly, hugging it. He felt a kick inside her stomach. Tears formed in his eyes. Tears of joy at least.

"The baby is a good kicker, just like you." Ran told him.

"Maybe he or she takes it from you. Karate champion." Conan joked. After a few minutes, Conan/Shinichi left the apartment to give Ran the space she needed.

After he left, Ran cried a lot until she fell asleep. That night, Eri woke up Ran to eat dinner and she noticed her swollen eyes.

"Something wrong, Ran?" Eri asked worriedly.

"Oka-san, can we go to America?" she said.

Without any questions, Eri agreed and arranged a flight for their destination to America. But they will leave within two weeks because Eri's business and Kogoro must know about it.
