Previously on Gundam Build Divers Re-Rise Origin
May opens her eyes as she could feel shivering on the bed. She slightly turns around and sees that Hiroto was shivering in his sleep, his face seems conflicted against another nightmare in his mind.
Looking at Hiroto, May could feel just how much pain he is facing in his nightmare.
May gently turns Hiroto to the other side as she placed her arms around Hiroto's neck and waist, pulling him close while resting his head to her chest.
she pecks Hiroto's forehead before her hands started caressing his head and back gently while whispering the words "it's okay…I'm here" to him repeatedly
In a few seconds that passed, her actions did the trick as Hiroto's face slowly turns peaceful, the nightmare he was facing now gone.
May watches him sleep so peacefully before she holds him close and slowly went to sleep with him.
The next morning came as the sun was shining its warms ray upon the village.
Most of the villagers had come out to start the day while some were still asleep.
Hiroto stirs in his sleep as he slowly opens his eyes and sees that he was resting his face on May's chest which made his cheeks red.
"did you sleep fine?" May's voice spoke out as Hiroto looks up and sees that May was still holding him just like last night. "did you have a nice rest?"
"i…why…" Hiroto muttered out while looking a bit embarrassed to the close contact with each other.
"you were having a nightmare last night and it woke me up" May told Hiroto as her right hand was caressing his head unconsciously. "My Mama said that when a boy is having nightmares, i should hold them close while being there for them. And it did the trick, right?"
"y-yeah….i guess…" Hiroto replied awkwardly as he has no idea what Magee is teaching her.
The two were in silence as May was still holding Hiroto close, her right hand still rubbing the back of his head while she looks at him.
"um…i…" Hiroto muttered out before a few seconds later, Freddie with Maiya, Jiric, and the three furry kids came in
"Hiroto-san! May-san! Good morning!" Freddie called out as he entered the house with a happy smile.
The six furry people looks in and finds Hiroto sitting by the bed, May still laying down. both looking at them after their sudden entrance.
"are you feeling alright?" Maiya asked as they didn't know the position the two were in before they came.
"a lot better actually" Hiroto said as he caresses the bandages on his head. "thanks"
"you should be thanking the village's doctor" Jiric told Hiroto "he's been taking care of this village for three generations. he knows the best medicine to give to anyone who is sick"
"I see" Hiroto replied as he turns to look at May who was sitting up on the bed. "your fever?"
"I think it's gone now" May replied before caressing her neck as the purple veins were still there. "although these wounds haven't"
"looks weird" Asha said looking at the purple veins on May's neck, Hulun and Towana agreeing as well.
"do you need the doctor to check on it again?" Maiya asked "he said that he seen it before, but he is still looking at it in the books"
"I'm fine" May said as she scoots over to the edge of the bed and place her legs down to the floor before standing up.
Her legs supported her, but they were shaking a bit before she fell back
"Aah!" May's eyes wide to feel her legs being so weak as she falls back before Hiroto caught her in his arms.
"you alright?" Hiroto asks as he holds May and helps her sits down back on the bed.
"yeah, but my legs…" May said as she placed a hand to her thighs and caresses them. "they just.."
"I'll get the doctor" Maiya said "it'd be better to get you check again"
"but i.." May tried to retort that she was still fine but Maiya had gone out with Hulun, Towana, and Asha following by.
"everyone's just worried about you, lass" Jiric said as he took a seat and sat down "better let the doctor check on you again just to make sure that you ain't sick"
"but I'm an El-" May said but was cut off when Hiroto grasp her hand. She looks at him and sees that he was shaking his head to her with a disapproving look. Freddie is the only one who knows that May is an EL-Diver in Eldora so telling others that she wasn't a living being would make a lot of confusion.
"you're a…?" Jiric said, not able to hear what May was about to say.
"nothing" May replied as she looks at Jiric. "nothing at all"
After the little matter was solved, Hiroto turns to look at Freddie.
"Freddie, were you able to call Kazami and the others?" Hiroto asked as Freddie twitches a bit remembering the task he was asked to do.
"y-yes! I went to the ruins with Hulun and the others, but…" Freddie said before trailing off
"but?" May said while raising her eyebrows
"I was able to turn on the ruins but when I tried to reach Kazami-san and the others, I couldn't get an answer" Freddie replied as a flashback of him trying to connect the ruins with GBN but the results was that of a static-filled screen. "I tried various way but there came no result at all"
"is that so?" Hiroto said frowning a bit as he and May were stuck
"how about the ruins at New Seguli?" May asked as there was the second ruins where Cuadorn resides
"well, new Seguli is a bit far…" Freddie said while poking his two fingers together at each other. "but I already asked my dad to send a message there! It'll probably take 4-6 days for the message to arrive and Cuadorn-san will come here and help you!"
"4-6 days" Hiroto said as he rubs his chin. "we never stayed in Eldora that long"
"I think we will be fine," May told Hiroto "when Masaki was in his coma and his physical conscious remained here, his life was not in danger but only until the time the two pieces were separated for too long"
"I guess so" Hiroto said before Freddie holds his hands
"then! Let's have fun till Cuadorn-san gets here!" Freddie exclaimed with a smile while his tail was wagging around. "there are a lot of fun things for us to do here!"
"I get it" Hiroto told Freddie with a small smile as the furry boy was still a kid who just wants to have fun every day.
May sighs with a smile to see how Freddie was blabbering about the fun things that they can do in the village towards Hiroto as the list goes on and on.
"somethings never change.." May said before she felt her heart skip a beat and a searing pain instantly strikes through her causing her eyes to widen.
"and then! And then! And then!" Freddie exclaimed to Hiroto who listens to him before he hears a gasp of pain coming from May which made him turns around to look
"May?" Hiroto called out before his eyes widen in shock as he sees May was having a seizure-like pain, the purple veins around her neck were glowing a purplish colour while spreading even more. "May!"
May grasps her hands to her chest as she started to scream in pain, sweat started to flush her face, and her fingers were trying to scratch her own chest because of the pain that sears through her whole body.
"May!" Hiroto called out to her as he holds May and sees how the purple veins keep spreading even more to her body.
A few minutes later, the village's doctor came with Maiya and the three kids. The doctor checked on May who was huffing her breathing with sweat covering her face and dripping down from it.
"How is she?" Hiroto asked, worried for his friend.
The doctor checked on May's temperature, her breathing pattern, her heartbeat, he checked everything while having a slight grim face.
"doctor?" Freddie calls out to the doctor who turns and let out a long sigh.
"I have no clear clue of what is happening to her" the doctor replied as he looks at May whose face was now feverishly red. "she now has a high fever, her heartbeat is beating too fast, and those purple veins that are around her body to her neck are spreading. I clearly have no clue of how to help her"
"but doctor!" Maiya exclaimed as Hiroto looks at May who looks to be in pain.
"I can try giving her some medicine herbs and berries, it'll help die down the fever but for her other symptoms…." The doctor said while rubbing his chin. "I'm not really sure…"
"do whatever you can, doctor" Jiric told the doctor while placing a hand to his shoulder. "you helped and healed many people in village for three generations. I'm sure you can find the solution"
"I'll try my best" the doctor said before looking at Hiroto who was holding May's hand while Freddie placed a wet and cold towel on May's forehead for her fever. "right now, let's hope that she can pull through for the next few days"
That is how the days goes for the next. Hiroto's wounds were healed but May's sickness didn't. at some points at time, she would scream in pain when her symptoms act up again, the purple veins around her continued to spread even more to her neck and to her face. Hiroto stayed by her side the whole time, while sometimes helping Jiric maintain his field and at sometimes, he would just sleep by the bed, holding May's hand as she rests for her sickness.
4 days later
Hiroto helps May sit up before he goes to a table and came sitting by the bed holding a wooden bowl filled with stew made by Maiya and a wooden spoon in it.
"here" Hiroto holds the spoon as he scoops up some stew and blows on it a few times before leaning it and the bowl near May
"what…is it?" May asked looking at the stew
"it's stew. Maiya said that it helps when someone has a fever" Hiroto replied before helping May eat/drink the stew.
May tasted the stew as she can taste the sour yet sweet taste and the warmth in it.
"how is it?" Hiroto asked as May swallowed the stew and had a small smile form on her lips
"it's…warm, it has a sour yet sweet taste…" May replied "a bit different from the food…that my Mama introduced me too..but still…good"
"I see" Hiroto replied as he continued to feed May the stew, spoon by spoon.
After 10 minutes, May finished the whole stew. She was now resting on the bed while Hiroto was sitting by the bed just being silent.
"what do you think Kazami…. and the others are doing?" May asked abruptly as Hiroto looks at her then to elsewhere.
"probably trying their best to find a way to get in contact with us" Hiroto replied with a wondering look. "our bodies must be in a coma right now while we are here"
"that does make sense" May replied as she flips around so that her body was facing towards Hiroto's side. "it's somehow ironic that how we are stuck in Eldora is just like how Masaki was"
"Yeah, somehow" Hiroto stated before sighing a bit
The two were in silence as the only sound that was heard is the fire that was in a lamp. It crackles while lighting the room.
"do you miss her?" May asked as Hiroto made a sound and looks at her "Eve. Do you miss her?"
"what brought that up so suddenly?" Hiroto replied while blinking a few times.
"Hinata showed me" May said while sitting up and taking off her jacket, she showed the earing piece wrapped around her left arm as the green gem shines. "she showed me that picture of Eve."
"she what?" Hiroto said as a screen appeared in front of May and she flips it to show Hiroto a taken photo of the picture frame of himself with Hiroto, the two running towards the Core Gundam. "that's.."
"why didn't you tell me?" May asked as she unwraps the wrappings around her arm and holds the earring. "that I am somehow Eve's reincarnation?"
"i…" Hiroto said but the words got stuck in his throat. He looks away and down to his lap as he didn't know what to say to her. It's partly true that May might be Eve's reincarnation, but she was May and not Eve anymore. This was making a mixed feeling battle inside his heart. "..i…thought that….she was…and then you…"
May looks at Hiroto who rubs his face with his right hand while having a grim yet frustratedly sad face on. She looks at him before to the earring in her right palm as the gem shines a sparkle.
A single minute passes and no answer came from Hiroto. It was clear that he had no words to explain to May about her thoughts. The silent continued for another minute before May breaks it.
"Would it have been better if her personality is reborn in this body rather than my own personality?" May asked as Hiroto's eyes widen a bit before he turns to look at her. May had a stoic look but her eyes were filled with anticipation to hear his answer. "would it have been better?"
Hiroto looks at May as he didn't know how to even answer her question.
"that's…I'm…." Hiroto muttered out as he had no clue how to even answer her. "that's…"
It took a few minutes but Hiroto managed to decide the words for his answer
"yes…it might have been better" Hiroto replied as his eyes had some sadness in them. "Eve….she was someone I really cared for back then…no matter how much time had passed..there was never a time that I didn't think about her."
May looks at Hiroto as she could tell just how much he misses Eve, the person who originally owned the earing she is holding in her palm right now. The EL-Diver girl closes her eyes before laying back down on the bed while rolling to her side.
"I see." May replied "I'm sorry that I asked you the question"
With that, the conversation ended between the two as neither May or Hiroto spoke another word.
Hiroto frowns a bit as his thoughts about Eve and May were getting mixed up together and it was making it a hard decision for him to choose who is who.
He soon laid down on the bed, his back facing May's, silence accompanied them as they went to sleep on the bed, but neither were so close with each other.
Some tears were dripping to the bed as it was May's. her eyes were dripping down tears as they were not stopping.
"why….why do I feel sad?" May asked, her tears just keep on streaming down as she didn't know why she felt sad at all. Some of her tear drips on the earring gem in her palm as a few drops fell on it before they slide down.
The fire crackled in the lamp before it died down in a breeze of the night's wind.
Back to the present time.
Hiroto and Freddie were sitting by the lake and just watching the reflection of the stars above in the water.
"So May-san is Eve-san?" Freddie asked Hiroto who had told him the conversation last night which made Hiroto like this. "then why?"
"i.." Hiroto muttered out as he looks at his own reflection in the water before a ripple came and formed waves around his reflection. "…I got conflicted when I told her what I said…..i know that she's not Eve and that she's who she is, but…"
Hiroto clenches his fists hard while gritting his teeth together before tears slides down his cheeks.
"why?!...why can't I stop crying!?" Hiroto clenches his fists hard to the point that they turned white. "I know that she's not Eve…I know that but…" A flashback of May with a transparent Eve standing beside her appeared in his mind, both girls smiling to Hiroto as this made more tears drip down his eyes. "the way she smiled…she is just like…Eve"
"Hiroto-san…." Freddie muttered out as he looks at Hiroto whose tears were not stopping no matter how much he tried to wipe them away.
It took a full 5 minutes to pass for Hiroto to stop crying and got his emotions in check but by the time he was finished, his eyes were a bit red from all the crying and eye rubbing.
"I'm sorry, Freddie…but can you tell Jiric-san that I need to be alone for now?" Hiroto asked as the young man was still emotionally in conflict in his heart.
Freddie slowly nodded with a frown before he stands up and went away, letting Hiroto be alone as he requested.
A single hour soon passed and Hiroto still sits by the lake all alone. He didn't move from his spot as he just needed time to be alone to sort out his feelings.
The sound of water ripples was heard from the lake as there was some sort of aquatic fish like creature swimming in it before some heavy footsteps that came from a few feet behind Hiroto.
"Freddie…I said I need time to be alone" Hiroto said as he turns his head around to look at Freddie who he thought came to check on him but it wasn't the furry boy but rather Jiric himself. "Jiric-san?"
"still having second thoughts of the lass?" Jiric asked before sighing a bit as he took a few steps forward and was now standing beside Hiroto. "Freddie told me your story. You have a complicated life, don't you?"
"it's not really.." Hiroto replied as he turns to look at the river again. "I just can't feel…."
Jiric glances at him before he looks at the Lake and to the remains of the Earthree Gundam that is within it.
The two stayed in silence for a good minute before Jiric broke it.
"it's been 3 years since my son passed away" Jiric suddenly said as Hiroto glanced at him "it was during the first raid by the One Eyes. He was at another village, helping the crops in that village while I was managing mine. It took 3 days for the news that he died there reached me."
Jiric took out what looks to be a locket as he opens it and inside it was a small photo of himself with a young furry man who looks a bit identical to him, only that his fur was a bit lighter colour than himself.
"it devastated me when I heard that my son had passed away" Jiric said looking at the photo in the locket. "but that was life back then. I had to move on."
"you weren't sad…. when you lost your son?" Hiroto asked as Jiric just closes the locket
"I was, but I was taught by my father to never shed a tear" Jiric replied while pocketing the locket away "it might be because of how we are always as hard as the soil itself and being farmers."
Jiric looks to the stars above as they shine in the night sky.
"but there's been times when I just wished to have more time to be spent with him" Jiric added in as he looks back at the water in the lake and to the reflection of the Earthree Gundam. "I sometimes wished that I had a talk with him by this lake, just talking about things randomly till it was night and then just go to bed waiting for the next day for another talk over and over"
Hiroto looks at Jiric as the old furry man crosses his arms behind his back and just looks at the reflection of the stars in the lake.
"Hulun is just like his father" Jiric stated "the way he laughs, eats, drinks, runs, everything. Hulun is like the reincarnation of his dead father. I see so much of my son in him that I feel as if my own son is still with me"
"see your own son in Hulun?" Hiroto asked as Jiric nodded
"I know that Hulun isn't my son and that he is my grandson. But that didn't change the fact that he's my family and I love him just as much I loved my dead son" Jiric added in as he sighs a bit "no matter what, my grandson is just like my son. Even though he is even lazier than he was"
"why…why are you telling me this?" Hiroto asked Jiric who glanced at him before to the lake once again.
"to tell you that you must follow with what your heart tells you" Jiric replied as he bends down and picks up a small round rock pebble before throwing it into the lake "see that? No matter how much pebbles I throw into this lake it stays as it is. A lake this big would just remain the same no matter how long time might pass"
"but if it was destroyed…" Hiroto said but Jiric shook his head in response
"even if it's gone or whatever might happen, it doesn't change the fact that this lake is here and would always be remembered here forever on" Jiric stated before he glanced at Hiroto. "isn't that right?"
Hiroto blinked once before he looks at the lake and sees the ripples that were flowing around on its surface.
"i…I think so" Hiroto said as he watched the water ripples disappear.
Jiric nodded before he looks at the lake with Hiroto.
"that lass, even if she's the reincarnation of the girl you once loved, she is who your heart believes she is" Jiric stated as he placed a hand to Hiroto's shoulder and pat it once. "follow what your heart tells you. It knows you better than anyone else after all"
"follow…my heart.." Hiroto said as his right hand slowly placed itself on his chest and grasp it a little while feeling his own heartbeat.
"the lass might still be awake right now" Jiric told Hiroto "get the cloud in you out and talk with her, alright?"
Hiroto nodded as he got back up and dusts off the dirt on his pants before he turns and started running to the house but stopped and turns to look at Jiric.
"Jiric-san, thank you" Hiroto said before he smiles "you really helped me"
Jiric sighs while folding his arms behind his back. "best you go now, don't let the lass wait too long"
Hiroto nodded before he turns and started running again towards the house while Jiric stayed behind by the lake.
"young ones these days" Jiric said while shaking his head a bit before he looks at the lake and to the reflection of the stars in the water.
Hiroto runs towards Jiric's house as he had a smile on his face

Freddie started calling out to Hiroto while waving his hands as Hulun, Towana, and Asha did the same.

"May" Hiroto called out her name as May heard him and sat up then turns to look at him

"you…..like me?" May asked as Hiroto slowly nodded with a smile "why?"
"it's because of who you are" Hiroto replied as May raised her eyebrows in curiosity and confusion. "I don't just like you, May….no….i love you"

May tried to wipe away her endless tears but they just keep pouring more and more down her cheeks.
"I'm sorry, Hiroto…I know that this is an important discussion..but my tears won't stop…I don't know why." May said trying to stop her tears before Hiroto holds her hands and stops her.
May looks at Hiroto and sees that he was also crying as well, his tears endless slides down his cheeks while his lips had a smile.

Hiroto gently let go of her hands before he reached to her face and started wiping away her tears for her.
"when someone is in love….they will always cry no matter what.." Hiroto told May as he wipes away her tears before gently holding her cheeks. "the reason you are crying…is because of your heart that feels love…"
"my heart…feels love?" May said before closing her right eye as Hiroto caresses her right cheek.
"that's right…people will always cry from their heart.." Hiroto told her as her tears had stopped thanks to his actions. "no matter what reason…may it be happiness, sadness, or even because of love…they will always cry with their heart"
May felt the warmth coming from Hiroto's hands as it made her lips form a smile.
"I see….that's why…" May said leaning close to Hiroto's hands as a single tear slides down her cheeks and drips to her lap. "I feel love for you…"
Hiroto sighs in relief to hear her words as his right-hand caresses her cheeks before he lets go but in return his tears were wiped away by May

The two then looks at each other's eyes intensely as they seem to be lost in them, in a pool of blue and aqua.
A single minute passed before the two slowly leans close to each other.
Their eyes slowly closing, their lips slowly reaching towards another, their breathing uniting in the same rhythm.

In a matter of seconds, their lips connected in a small kiss as both leans close to each other with their eyes closed and their hands holding another in a tight yet gentle grasp.
After a few seconds passed, the two slowly leans away as both Hiroto and May had some blushes on their cheeks.
"so this is what my Mama means by a kiss with love, huh?" May said while placing two fingers to her kissed lips. Her smile was soft and gentle as she looks at Hiroto who was having the same smile too. "I think I like it"

While the two were just looking each other with happy smiles. Behind the door were Maiya, Freddie, Asha, Towana, and Hulun. All five had watched the whole scene as Maiya and Freddie had scarlet red face while the three were having big smiles.
"wawawawawa…" Freddie mumbled out as his mind went overdrive to what he had just seen in the house.
"k-kiss?!" Maiya stammered out, her face red and her tail had stand up straight.
"they kissed!" Asha cheered as Hulun and Towana joined in but Freddie and Maiya shushes them because of fearing to get noticed by Hiroto and May inside.
The two checked in the house and sees that both Hiroto and May were still looking at each other with happy smiles, but with their hands holding each other, their fingers clasping in between their fingers and they were a perfect fit to each other.
"phew, they didn't heard us" Maiya said before she and Freddie let out a sigh of relief.
"Maiya-neechan, are you going to kiss Kazami-san when he comes too?" Asha innocently asked as Maiya's tail and fur all stands up and started curling up.
"will you?" Hulun and Towana joined in as Maiya's face steamed up.
"n-n-n-n-no I won't! who would want to kiss that stupid big oaf!?" Maiya stammered out while she glares at the three for asking such questions.
"waaaa! Help us~!" the three runs away while Maiya angrily and embarrassingly glares at them for running away.
As the three runs away, they run pass Jiric who was walking towards Freddie and Maiya.
"you young ones shouldn't be spying on the two at this time" Jiric told Freddie and Maiya, the elder of the village knowing of what is going on inside the house. He sighs and shakes his head to see what they were doing before "and I thought Tonoi taught the both of you good manners like himself. Seems I was wrong"
"w-w-w-we weren't spying on them!" Freddie stammered out
"y-yeah! We were just checking on them and we just saw it!" Maiya added in, trying to defend themselves as eavesdroppers.
Jiric sighs as he wouldn't believe their reasoning.
The racket outside was kinda loud and it could be heard from inside but for the two occupants, they couldn't hear it because of how they were lost in their own world.
"did you ever kiss Eve?" May asked Hiroto who shook his head.
"i never kissed anyone, not on the lips in particularly" Hiroto said before closing his right eye as May's hand was caressing his right cheeks and her thumb is caressing the part under his right eye.
"I'm really glad to hear that" May said with a smile as she leans close to Hiroto, her lips parting a bit as she was going for another kiss with him.
Hiroto replied the action kindly as he leans close to May, his lips parting a bit as well.
The two got closer and closer before.
Bzzttt! (Computer glitching and buzzing sound effect combined)
May's eyes widen as they quiver and shake around, a purplish glow emanated in her chest as the purple veins around her neck were spreading up her neck and to her cheeks.
"AAAAaaaahhhhh!" May screams out as her hands grasp her chest, her body arched back while the purple veins were spreading even more around her face.
"May!" Hiroto shouted out as he holds May and sees the purple glow coming from her chest. "MAY!"
Jiric and the others came running in from hearing the screaming as Maiya instantly bolted out to get the doctor again.
"Aaaaahhhhh!" May screams out as she was in excruciating pain.
"May! May!" Hiroto called out her name repeatedly while he holds her, trying to do what he can to stop whatever is hurting her.
BOOM! CRASH!
Before long, a loud explosion and crash was heard. The house suddenly collapsed as rubble came falling down.
Jiric grabs Freddie, Hulun, Towana, and Asha and covers them with his large body to protect them from the falling rubble.
"Jiric-san!" Freddie exclaimed as the rubble came hitting at the old man's back.
"stay down!" Jiric shouted as he holds them even in pain from the falling rubble.
Hiroto had done the same as he holds May close while he protects her in his arms.
May still screams in pain as the purple veins were glowing while pumping something inside her.
BOOM! BOOM!
Loud explosions were heard before the sound of metal screeching was heard next.
The house had come down, but its occupants are still well and alive.
Some rubble started moving as Jiric came out with Freddie and the others under him
"Jiric-san!" Freddie exclaimed as Jiric had some blood coming down his head
"you're hurt!" Asha stated as Hulun and Towana nodded two times in agreeing with her.
"it's just a small bruise" Jiric said wincing a bit before he turns around to look to the side. "those two.."
"Hiroto-san! May-san!" Freddie shouted out their names as the rubble were everywhere.
A few seconds soon passed before some rubble started moving up and Hiroto appears with May in his arms from under them.
"Hiroto-san! May-san! Both of you are alright!" Freddie exclaimed with a smile as he, Asha, Towana, and Hulun started to make their way in the rubble towards the two while Jiric sat down as he was old and injured for the moment.
Hiroto had blood dripping down his forehead, and the blood covered his right eye but his sole attention was to May who was now unconscious but the purple veins and the purple glow in her chest weren't stopping.
"May! May!" Hiroto called out to her, trying to get her to wake up but she was unconscious and seems lifeless as this made fear run through his heart. "May!"
Before long, a large black shadow zooms over them as it was a shadow of a large figure.
"t-that's!" Freddie exclaimed in shock while Ashsa, Towana, and Hulun were hiding behind the furry boy, looking scared.
An Alus Core Gundam appeared, the evil Core Gundam landing near them with its monocular eye glows red before flashing purple.
