Sleeping inside the fort wasn't gonna be easy for the group, since there were nine of them and they all refused to sleep outside. Working a way around it, they managed to get into positions that were comfortable enough to sleep in. Of course, they didn't bother to change out of their costumes, as they made for pretty good pajamas. Lucy and Haiku slept sitting against the wall, Nigel and Jane in fox form cuddle up close together, Lily slept on top of Ken, who also allowed Stacey to use his belly as a pillow as she slept next to the door. Lastly, Georgia was cuddling close to Persephone, having her arms wrapped around her waist and having a smile on her face as she slept, happy to be sleeping with Persephone. But, it wasn't all fun for Persephone herself, who woke up wide eyed to the position she was in...
Persephone:"(whispering) Oh no! This is bad! Gotta. Get. Out of this!"
Freaking out, she had accidentally kicked Nigel in the head which started him awake, same with Jane, who started running towards Ken. Impacting with his stomach, Ken is suddenly up, which cause his stomach to jiggle, causing Lily to bounce off and land on Lucy, who along with Haiku, are woken up surprisingly, which causes Haiku's power to suddenly start, shooting a lightning bolt at Stacey, who is electrocuted awake. The all groan in pain as they get up from the ground...
Stacey:"What happened?"
Nigel:"All I could remember was a foot coming at me."
Georgia:"That might have been my fault...sorry."
Nigel:"Eh. No worries."
Stacey:"Well, I myself am just not happy getting electrocuted."
Haiku:"That was unintentional. My powers just went off."
Stacey:"And I'm also thankful that Ken let me use his stomach as a pillow. It's actually pretty comfortable."
She playfully pats Ken's belly, which he appreciates...
Ken:"Heh. I knew it's good for something."
As Lily was fully awake, she teleported from Lucy's hands to Stacey's, who was kinda getting used to the girl's attention. Lily giggled as Stacey give her finger to the little girl, enjoying her happiness.
Later, everyone was outside...well, almost. Ken was stuck again, and this time, Haiku was trying to pull him out, grabbing hold of his hands with her own hands. She was asked if she wanted some help, but she decided to do this alone. Meanwhile, Stacey gathered everyone else to talk about things were going to go for them today...
Stacey:"Okay. So, based on our last night's go, we need a new strategy. And with these new powers, we have more of a chance to survive this time."
Persephone:"Well, at least we're all still here."
Georgia:"And in one piece."
Stacey:"True, but that doesn't guarantee we will be again. Anyway, from what I know, the zombies and the guardian all tend to be more active during the night, so we pretty much have nothing to worry about, since it's morning."
Ken:"(while being pulled) Glad we don't have to deal with that for the rest of the day."
Jane:"What about the time when you first met the guardian?"
Stacey:"Huh?"
Jane:"You know, when the time...your sister...got killed."
Stacey:"...Not gonna lie, it was...midday, when that happened. (Twitches) But poor choice of an example, Jane."
Jane:"Sorry."
Haiku:"That has me wondering something. (Grunting) Does the guardian happen to know about this fort?"
Stacey:"If he did, we would be dead by now."
Georgia:"Well, if we're gonna figure this out as we go, how about we do exercise for now?"
Jane:"That sounds good."
Meanwhile, Haiku was getting frustrated with all the pulling, she felt she wanted to rip Ken in half for always getting stuck. As he was being pulled out, Ken could feel his body stretching too much, along him help in pain. Haiku tried to keep her cool as she continued to pull.
Haiku:"(Growls) Another question I had in mind. Do we plan to keep our powers afterwards? And what other things can we do with them?"
Stacey:"We'll have to figure that out later. For now, let's get to working out."
Haiku:"Very well."
Mustering up some more strength, Haiku managed to get Ken to pop out of the entrance. Then both followed the rest of the group. Heading over to where they do target practice, this time, they didn't use the zipline, but instead walked under it...
Jane:"I still remember how hard it was last time we used that thing."
Georgia:"Maybe it would've helped if Ken actually put in an effort in losing weight."
Ken:"Guys, come on. No matter what happens, I'm always gonna be fat."
Georgia:"Maybe if you would cut back on the sweets you eat, it could help."
Ken:"Oh, shut it."
And, out of nowhere came the sound of an explosion not too far away. In fact, it almost sounded like it came from where they were coming from...
Georgia:"The heck was that?!"
Nigel:"Sounded like a sonic boom."
Stacey:"A sonic boom? Out of nowhere?"
Nigel:"You'd be surprised."
Stacey:"Well, we'll have to worry about that later. Let's just get to it."
Deciding to ignore the explosion, they continue to the target range. When the made it over there, they thought it was best to test out their powers on the targets. Stacey, using her whip had managed to tear her target in half. Haiku was next, and she managed to burn her target be electrocuting it. Then came Lucy, who didn't really managed to destroy as she was practically throwing bats at her like footballs, and watched as they smacked on the surface of the target...
Lucy:"Well, they can't all be winners."
Jane:"I would just like to point out that electricity doesn't burn things."
Nigel:'Yeah, I wouldn't be too sure about that, big sister."
Jane:"Why's that?"
Nigel:"Didn't you see Haiku's lightning? It's went right through!"
Jane:"Okay, but that's different."
Nigel:"Not to me."
Shaking her head at watching the two bicker, Stacey went back to target practice. But as she was about to hit another target, Lily had warped behind her and grabbed hold of her ponytail. Yelping in pain, Stacey leaned forward with her whip still active, then stepped forward and lashing the whip with all her strength. With a loud snap, the whip left a smoldering hole in the center of the target, leaving Stacey very surprised...
Stacey:"Huh...(grabs hold of Lily) That was a pretty lucky shot. Thanks for that."
Lily:"(giggles)"
Nigel:"Alright. My turn."
Jane:"What are you gonna do? Throw your sword?"
Nigel:"Nah. I wanna try something."
Picking up a bow, he pulled back at the string. Taking a deep breath, Nigel begins to clear his mind and think about what he wants to happen. It was then that a crimson arrow had appeared in his hand just like his sword does. And when he let it fly, the arrow went straight through...and kept going. He tried it threw more times, all bullseyes. The rest of the group were colored impressed..
Jane:"Wow, little bro. You're pretty good."
Nigel:"Didn't think it would actually work. But I'm so glad it did."
Haiku:"When did you come with the arrows?"
Nigel:"Right now. It's just something I thought of off the top of my head."
Everyone was a bit surprised to hear that, that they all this expression: "•_•". Meanwhile, Nigel was feeling proud of himself. Later on, they were walking in a clearing pretty far away from the cemetery and the guardians hideout. While Stacey looked calm and collected, the rest of the group kept moving their heads from side to side as they kept on hearing some unnerving noises coming from the woods...
Georgia:"If he's gonna come out then he should just get it over with already."
Nigel:"Who?"
Georgia:"The Guardian. I don't see why he's not bothering to come look for us and hunt us down."
Jane:"I wouldn't recommend you give him any ideas then. We'll be fine. We're far away from the cemetery."
Stacey:"Actually...I wouldn't bet on it."
Lucy:"What do you mean?"
Stacey:"The Guardian is like natural predators. He goes of to hunt down new prey."
Georgia:"Well, why isn't he doing it now?"
Stacey:"As I told you before, he's more active at night."
Ken:"Well, at least we can catch a break then."
He jinxed it, as suddenly, out of nowhere, a rocket came and blew a up a few trees. The group turned their heads to see that coming out of the shadows was the guardian, who had twin giant rocket launcher mounted onto both of his shoulders, blasting once more and forcing every to dodge as a crater formed where they were standing. Stacey held Lily close, not wanting to let go, as she got back up on her feet. The others struggled to recover after that last blast...
Guardian:"(deep disoriented voice) Recalculating...targets reacquired."
Georgia:"A rocket launcher? Really?!"
Ken:"This is just like that horror game I used to play as a kid."
Stacey:"Well, this sure brings back memories (tears form in her eyes)"
Jane:"Welp, I guess we're doing this."
Guardian:"Accept your doom..."
Taking another, the group was barely able to dodge that time as another crater formed where the Guardian fired...
Nigel:"Where does he get this crazy weapons from?!"
Stacey:"Who cares? Trash them, then trash him too!"
And with that, Stacey brings out her whip and begins trying to hit the Guardian with it. But the giant behemoth stood unfazed as the whip merely seemed to slash through its clothes. Eventually, he grabbed the whip, which Stacey tugged on, trying to pry it away, but it only caused the whip to tear into two pieces. Then the guardian punches in the face, causing her to fly back a few feet. With the whip destroyed, Stacey though herself defenseless, buts she then noticed that the strands of her hair was glowing purple...
Stacey:"That gives me an idea."
Pulling at her own hair, Stacey manages to pull some strands of her hair out and place it in her hand. Then, she watched in awe as her whip had repaired itself using the strands of her hair...
Stacey:"Nice."
Georgia:"Sit this one out, Stacey. We got this!"
Nigel:"Yeah!"
Jane:"Welp, here goes nothing!"
And so, the three of them had then charged at the Guardian. Jane had turned into a fox and Nigel got onto of her, beginning to ride her like a horse. Georgia was the first to attack, walk up onto the Guardian, taking dual arm blades and doing an upper slash before black flipping away. Next came the brother and sister, with Nigel jumping from Jane, taking out his sword and swinging, making it land across the face of the guardian. He had hoped to have cut its head clean off, but was surprised to see that didn't happen. Instead, the sword merely seemed to have dislocated his neck, to which the guardian takes it and cracks it, putting it back into place. This frightened Nigel as he took a few steps back after seeing that...
Nigel:"This is gonna be harder than we thought."
Not too far away, Haiku could see the battle that was going on and figured she had to do something as well, channeling her powers, she shot a long lightning bolt at the guardian from behind, which had hit his backpack, burning it. It was then that the guardian turned it's attention to Haiku, who continued to fire at the guardian with lightning bolts, but they only seemed to have phased him little by little, causing him to flail backwards. But still, he stood on both his feet and then moved his rocket launcher to target Haiku...
Guardian'"Target acquired."
Shooting both cannons, the rockets were flying towards Haiku, who had to act quickly. It was a long shot, but she fired her lightning the rockets, causing them to explode in midair. Unfortunately, she was still pretty close to the blast, causing her to fly back a few feet..
Haiku:"(straining) Not my best idea."
Up next was both Lucy and Persephone. Placing her at her shoulders, Persephone carries Lucy while she hovers around the Guardian, while Lucy summons her bats to attack it.
Persephone:"You're pretty heavy, Lucy!"
Lucy:"Aren't you supposed to have some muscle in that new butt of your?"
Persephone:"Very funny. But I am this close to dropping you!"
Lucy:"I'd rather you not."
Meanwhile, the bats were barely doing anything. The Guardian was being either bitten or scratch up, but they seemed to do nothing to slow the thing down.
Lucy:"They're not hurting him."
Persephone:"Then we better move!"
While Persephone and Lucy did their best to avoid the Guardian's upcoming attacks, Lily and Kensaw from a distance that their friends were in danger. Being the fat piece of Lard that he is, Ken felt pretty useless in this situation. But not Lily. She felt like she had to something, even if she wasn't able to do much. Warping away from Ken, causing him to freak out, she warped directly above guardian and grabbed hold of his face...
Lily:"RRAAA!"
Her small hands didn't do much, as the guardian stood in place for a few moments before he grabbed hold of Lily and threw her high into the sky...
Lily:"WHAAAAAAAaaaaa..."
She landed somewhere in the woods which made everyone begin to freak...
Lucy:"Did that thing...just throw...Lily?!"
Stacey:"No... not again!"
Both Lucy and Stacey head for where Lily was thrown while the rest fend off the guardian. They feared that it may have been impossible to find her, but thankfully, her cries made it all to easy. Lily had landed in a few shrubs, but not without a few marks either. She was a little bruised up, but overall, fine. Stacey held her close as Lily cried, as did Lucy, who feared for the life of her little sister...
Lucy:"That was pretty brave, Lily."
Stacey:"But you really shouldn't have done that...for now, rest easy... I'm taking that monster down!"
Lucy:"Not alone, you're not! He messed with my sister, so he now just made this personal."
Heading back to the fight, things weren't going too well as the Guardian manage to work over and throw their friends to the ground. Lucy's bats were still attacking him, swarming all over his body, but he barely reacted as he then removed the rocket launcher a from his shoulders and crosses his arms...
Guardian:"Targets resisting termination. Drastic measures authorized."
Just as Lucy and Stacey came back, they watched as the Guardian flexed his whole body and made an inhuman roar, sending a huge shockwave that made the bats fly away, as well as send the group a few feet away...
Nigel:"This guy just won't give up! We got no choice! We have to head back to the fort."
Guardian:"Is that so?...Critical power drained. Recovery systems initiate."
And with that, the guardian retreats and leaves the others confused...
Georgia:"Well, that was anticlimactic."
Jane:"What did he even mean by 'is that so'?"
Nigel:"Could he have known about the hideout?"
Stacey:"Let's just head back. We'll have to fight some other time."
But as they head back, their worst fears had been realized. The Guardian had found their hideout and reduced it to cinders. This had explained the sonic boom their heard earlier, for it was the Guardian destroying their base.
Nigel:"(drops to his knees) Son of a gun...he beat us to it."
Ken:"Well, at least none of us were in there. Things could be worse, right?"
Georgia:"For once, I agree with you. But what are we gonna do now?"
Stacey:"...I don't know."
