Ch 21. Break & Visions

Location: Everest Hangar, Normandy communication room

Anthony's POV

I walked into the meeting room & I could see Shepard's team, Nihlus, Halsey, my team, Dare, Johnson, Forge, & finally Cole himself & we were about ready to start the meeting "Greetings Reclaimer" I turned around to see the fucking lightbulb Spark as he floated around & Johnson was eyeing the fucking asshole like he was ready to kick its ass & I can't blame him

Liara looked at Shepard a little worried then asked "Commander? You look... Pale. Are you suffering any effects from the cipher?" That wouldn't be the only effect but I had to say my head was a little funny

Shepard the replied "The cipher shook me up a bit" I noticed her take a glance at me which I'm guessing she knew about something & it was linked to me

Liara then said "I might be able to help you. I am an expert on the Protheans. If I joined my conscious with your maybe we can make some sense" I nodded in agreement with her since that seemed like the best way to piece everything together

Then I heard Shepard say "Do it. Hurry. We don't have much time" her & Shepard stood up as I could see Nihlus & Halsey explaining to Cole about what's going to happen

I soon saw both of them now standing face to face as Liara said "Relax commander. Embrace Eternity!" Then soon her eyes go black & at the same time I seems to somehow black out

Location: Unknown

I was standing in a dark hallway with doors everywhere then I soon saw Shepard & Liara & I gotta say I was super confused on what was going on as I asked "What the hell is going on?"

Liara replied "I-I don't know?! I only joined with Shepard's mind."

Shepard looked at me then at where we are then said "Where are we anyways?"

I looked around as well then I walked to the door as both Shepard & Liara followed me & as soon as I opened a door I saw a memory of Reach, Alexandra & this was the part I saved Kat's life by pushing her out of the way only to get shot through the chest & it was a miracle that I survived

Liara then said "We must be in Anthony's mine? But it still doesn't explain why we're joined?"

Shepard then took a guess "It might be the beacon? Because we both saw the same images"

Liara then said "I don't know but with everything that has happened so far I could only guess that might be the cause but it still is only a theory"

I called out "Maybe one of theses doors could be linked to the cipher? Hell we might even get a clearer image of it?"

That seemed to get them to think a but then Shepard looks at the memory then asked "So do you still have it?"

I nodded "Yeah, medics say they can heal it up but I keep that to remember how I was able to save a life, each scar I got is from saving lives or fighting a good fight or something to remember always"

Liara then asked "It seems you have a knack for getting injured but we can discuss your sanity once we find the right memory" I nodded as we got started on looking

Liara opened a door which I saw that it was the memory of the Spartan III's & Snow was going to get involved until me & Halsey gone & saved her from all of that & how she would look up to me as a big brother

I smiled seeing that memory remembering on how I would make sure to train her into becoming a spartan but at the same time making sure that she would also be happy

Shepard then opened another door revealing another memory of how my team & Chief encountered the Didact for the first time then she closed the door & said "There is just so many doors here, how are we going to find it in this mess?"

I answered that for her "Because it's my mine & I have it messed in a way so that incase someone tries to probe my mind they can't find the info" I walked over to a door then opened it & said "I found it!"

Those two came over to see what I was looking at as it was the vision but it was the segment from Feros as i knew we found it then Liara asked "How are we going to get out of here?"

I answered again "Simple, if it's my mine then we just need someone to kill us"

Shepard looks at me like I was retarded but before she could say anything I yelled out "Caboose! We need your help!"

Then we saw a Blue Spartan wearing a Mark V helmet carrying a assault rifle look at us then said "Okay!" As he then aimed his gun at us then fired killing us in my mine

Location: Normandy comm room

We got back & look to see that we were a little dizzy except for everyone else that was in my mind & Liara said "That was incredible! All this time. All my research. Yet I never dreamed... I'm sorry. The images were so vivid. I never imagined the experience would be so... Intense."

Liara looked at us then said "You & Anthony are remarkably strong-willed. What you've been through, what've you seen & done would of destroyed a lesser mind."

Sepia & Kaiden then asked at the same time "Did you find anything?" Then I noticed them looking at each other probably confused on what just happen

Liara said "the Beacon on Eden Prime must of been badly damaged. Large parts of the vision are missing. The data transferred into the commanders mind & the Spartans mind is incomplete."

I knew Shepard was going to ask her if there was any hints but I said "We at least know two things from the search in our heads"

Snow then spoke up "Uh sorry to interrupt but what are you talking about?"

I was going to answer but Liara beat me to the punch "We know that the Reapers do exist & are connected to the Protheans extinction & the conduit but we also learned that the Beacon somehow connected both the commanders mind & the Spartans mind making some kind of link"

Tony asked "So what your saying is that those two can think & possibly feel what the other thinks & feels?"

I shook my head & said "Not exactly but the meld seemed to trigger it & all we got was my mind with my memories"

Snow then walked up to me & ask "Can you remember what happened?"

Shepard then said "I know that we were surprised & there were doors all over & when we opened one up we saw him saving someone's life then another on how he met you then another on how he first met the didact until we found the Vision"

Snow seemed to be excited then asked again "Ok this is good but how did you two get out because this was really unexpected?"

I answered that with one word "Caboose"

Prime was holding back from laughing so was Ruby & Tony as Snow looked at me even with our helmets on she was giving me the WTF face

Then I looked at Liara seeing her looking tired as I said "You should get checked out with Chakwas, that meld must of been exhausting"

Liara seemed to understand then Shepard called out "This meeting is adjourned" that was everyone's cue to head on out except for myself, Shepard, Nihlus, Cole, Sparks, & Halsey as we stayed since the council will want to hear the report & want evidence

I heard Joker setting up a link to the council as Tevos & the rest of the council appeared & Tevos spoke "Commander, ExoGeni should of told us about the Thorian. It would of made your job much easier"

Valern then spoke "you might of been able to capture it for study instead of destroying it"

Cole then said "The creature was enslaving minds. If we ever found something similar then we would of destroyed it as well"

Tevos the said "perhaps it's for the best. At least the colony was saved"

The I heard Sparatus speak "of course it was saved. Shepard would of go to any lengths help a human colony even the UNSC would do the same"

Halsey was about to reply until Cole said "Now I can speak for the UNSC into saying that if we were at war or not the UNSC would go to help save lives both human & alien. These Spartans are a prime example of how far we would go to not only help humanity"

Then Nihlus also spoke up "True but Spectre's have to make sacrifices. Shepard I hope you're willing to do that when the time comes"

Tevos then asked "But we would like to ask about more information on what happened down there because we were seeing 3 massive ships getting flanked by another ship as these were of unknown origin"

Valern spoke next "We also got reports of your ground team finding a metallic sphere"

Then Sparataus spoke last "Then also hearing about a large fire fight between multiple unknown species & a giant mech"

Shepard then answered & also introduced some of the new members here "This is Vice Admiral Cole & 343 Guilty Sparks"

Spark went ahead & spoke "Greetings! It is fascinating to see lesser species that my creators encountered use inefficient technology"

The Valern then looked at us & said "You are aware that this is a AI & why did it call us a lesser species?"

I answered that "Because your technology is based on Element zero which is very useless to us & his creators were around tech tier 1 so they were far more advanced then the Protheans & also the Forerunners would call AI's, Ancilla."

Halsey then spoke up next "I know what your thinking & the answer is no. Sparks along with the UNSC will assist in helping the Normandy on its mission."

Cole spoke up next "Plus this ship doesn't have the shields or the firepower to take on the covenant either so the Everest will help the Normandy incase the Covenant are around"

The council thought for a moment then nodded as Tevos said "Very well but Wolf-1, the last time we spoke you gave us information on how the Prometheans were human, do you have any evidence?"

Spark looked at me as I nodded then he went ahead & answered by showing a clip of the process of humanity turning into a Promethean knight "This is the process & the Ur-Didact was content on wiping out all humans & turning them into a army of his knights which would not have stopped the flood"

Tevos nodded "That will be all, we will be waiting for your next report" the council logged off

Cole looked at us then said "Now, someone mind filling me in on what we're doing?"

Location: Normandy Engineering

Tony's POV

Me & Tali were just working on the Engines thanks to the upgrades that Ratchet & the other Huragok have made which now the ship would be faster, stronger, & quieter

Tali then said "The work that these engineers have done is incredible! This kind of work would take months or maybe years but they have done it within hours."

I went ahead & told her "They are smart & very good with tech, besides they will be helping your people"

She looked at me "Thank you. If I've never met you or your team then I don't know what would happen."

I replied to her "It's no big deal, I just saw a you in trouble & I came to help. Plus you seemed like a sweet girl"

I could guess she was flustered since she was moving her feet a little nervously & her body language pretty much gave it away then I saw Ratchet come in & whistled at us & Tali said "Oh yeah that's fine Ratchet" I saw him whistle happily then leave as my jaw dropped & Tali looked at me then said "Anthony & Ghost taught me"

Now I was impressed on what just happened but I definitely want to know what else he taught her

Location: Normandy Cargo Bay

Prime's POV

I was teaching Ashely on how to use the Covenant Carbine since she seemed to be very interested in it so I decided to show her how to hold it, fire it, load it, & everything else

She seemed to be getting the hang of it as she was taking aim at some cans we set up then she fired a shot which she missed "Damn it, I missed"

I pay her back then said "It's alright, just try to calm down"

She took a deep breath & tried again then she was able to aim down the sights & pulled the trigger shooting down one of the cans as she said "I got it!"

I smiled & she literally hugged me as I hugged back but for some odd reason it just felt normal but then I noticed she didn't let go as I spoke "Ash you do know you can let go right?"

I heard her say "Yeah but I'm kinda tired from that mission" I chuckled a little as she continued "Can you carry me to my bed"

I just replied "yes ma'am" I picked her up as she smiled then closed her eyes & as soon as I entered the elevator she fell asleep right in my arms which I'm not sure if she was playing or not because I felt like freaking out but before we gone up I was gonna go grab my carbine until I saw Spyglass pick it up then use it to practice on the cans

I thought it would be best to let him have it for now as I was gonna have to sneak my way to her bunk & let her rest if she'll let me

Location: Normandy medical bay

Halsey's POV

I was doing my analyzes on the samples of the Thorian which is now deceased sadly but if the Asari was under the influence of indoctrination then this can counteract it but i need to find data on the indoctrination

I looked to see Snow walk up to me without her helmet on then ask me "Doctor Halsey, I got information that you may want to see" she held up a Data crystal which I picked up then inserted it into my data pad & soon I was surprised

"Who found this?" I asked Snow that question

She answered "Prime & Anthony found it when they fell from the skyway to take care of the Geth ship. Sadly the area was probably crushed by the ship but they gathered the Intel before the ship fell"

I looked through then data then I said "Thank you Snow, that will be all" she nodded & I smiled at her as she smiled back then walked out

Once she walked out Anthony's AI appeared with worry as she said quickly "Halsey we have a problem"

I was a little annoyed by this interruption as I said "Ghost I am about to-"

She interrupted me by saying "The council found halo!" My eyes widen as she pulled up a OP filed Big Ring as she was showing me the data on everything she found

I looked at Ghost then said "Get everyone ready. Now!" As soon as I have the order she dematerialized & I was going to have a word or two with a certain Spectre about this OP of theirs

AN, yes I know there is a reference to Red vs Blue in this chapter but Freelancer wanted to do that as just a quick like easter egg or something
