Nahuel
The scene unfolding before me was one I had hoped I would never see. When Renesmee informed me of her agreement to be courted by Master Black, I had been discouraged, nevertheless, I returned for one last time to hope that she would follow through on her promise that she would give me a chance before permanently tying herself to the werewolf. I guess my timeline will need to be sped up.
Bella
I watched as Nahuel looked over the entirety of the room, examined the guests and scrutinized the gathering of humans, vampires and werewolves, all in one small place.
Suddenly, a menacingly low growl rippled through the air around me. I turned to look toward the sound and found Edward standing there looking as he were about to pounce on Nahuel. His lips were pulled up over his top teeth as he snarled again, this time, loud enough that even the humans began to turn to try and find the source of the sound.
"Edward? Why don't we take a walk?" I pulled on his arm, but he stood fast, "Edward, now! Before you make a scene in front of the humans." I whispered roughly.
As soon as we made it out onto the back porch, I turned to Edward, but he had not yet turned his head away from Nahuel and the three ladies standing with him.
"Edward? What's going on? It's just Nahuel and his sisters."
"It's not his sisters I have a problem with. It's Nahuel. We knew he wasn't going to like the fact that Jacob proposed, but the fact that Ness accepted before he's had his "chance", is really not sitting right with him. He thought about asking her to give him six months traveling with him to get to know him."
"SIX MONTHS!?" I fumed breathlessly as I tried to keep my voice low so as not to disturb the party going on inside. Jacob and Renesmee had taken to the dance floor, followed by Jasper and Alice, Emmett and Rose, Carlisle and Esme, as well as Charlie and Sue and the other couples who had chosen to attend. "We cannot allow him to take her away for six months."
"As much as I want to agree, it really isn't our choice. She made him a promise, and if she marries Jacob without fulfilling that promise, there is no telling what could happen. It really has to be Renesmee's decision."
"What really needs to be my decision?" Ness stepped out the door and onto the back porch, Jacob trailing quietly behind her.
"Oh, that's something you have to discuss with Nahuel. I am not getting in the middle of that." Edward was visibly trying to maintain his calm, but I could tell he was angry. "I'm going to go for a walk. Bella, care to join? I need to... get some fresh air."
I was slightly puzzled, but that's when I noticed the door behind us had opened, and some of the party goers had decided to join us outside in the cool night air. Edward walked into the treeline, and when he was just out of sight of the house, I heard him call out, "the meadow." and then take off running.
"Mom, Why was Dad so angry? I heard him growl inside. I wanted to come talk to him, but Alice wouldn't let me. She said you needed to talk to him first. What is going on. What is my decision? and why do I need to discuss it with Nahuel?"
"As your father said, you need to talk to Nahuel. And something tells me, you need to have an openmind. And remember. You made him a promise. You said you would give him a fair chance. Would you say this was fair?" I asked as I looked down at her now sparkling left hand being held by Jacobs.
Because I sure wouldn't call this fair.
