After the ceremony, the next day a message came from one of the guards that President Snow wanted to see Cato and Lily before they disembarked for home on their train. Once they reached the station they were immediately escorted to a small room where presumably President Snow's was waiting for them.

"When will I see again?" Lily asked quietly as they followed the guard, "We're going home to different districts." She said sadly, not liking the idea of being away from Cato.

"I'll come visit as soon as I can or you can come see me," Cato kissed her before the guard opened the door for them ushering them in before closing it behind them. They saw President Snow sitting behind his desk, they cautiously walked forward and sat down in the chairs opposite his desk.

"You both showed such bravery, such courage." He smiled over at them but Lily could see it wasn't a smile that held warmth or pride it was a cold and unkind smile that chilled her. "Such contempt." He continued.

"We are sorry we caused all of this," Lily mumbled, glancing up and holding his cruel gaze. "But we fell deeply in love with each other and we couldn't bare it…"

President Snow held up his hand and got her off, "My dear, I think we can make this so much simpler if we promise not to lie to one another. Don't you think?"

Lily swallowed a lump in her throat, glancing at Cato who sat staring ahead not taking his eyes of Snow and she nodded.

"We have a problem, a problem that started as soon as the four of you were allowed to walk out of that arena. If Seneca crane had any brains at all he would made you all fight it down to the single victor, like what was supposed to happen." He stared pausing in his speech to see if either of them would argue, but he was met with silence, as they both feared they wouldn't live if they spoke up. "Unfortunately the people of the Capitol adore you too much and now there is nothing left to do but let you play out your little scenario, and so far I'm not impressed, you've convinced the people in the Capitol but you haven't convinced me. You need to convince me, convince the districts that this is real, that way you can calm them."

"What are you talking about, of course it is real how can we convince you if you aren't already convinced?" Cato scoffed, not likely being threatened or accused of his love for Lily isn't real.

President Snow, sent a beaming smile at Lily, like he had just won a great victory. "Oh it seems Miss Rivers hasn't got you up to speed allow me," Pressing a button on his desk a hologram started and Lily froze, she saw herself getting into the tube and her heart sunk as she knew what happened next.

"Cato," she whispered fearfully turning to him ,his eyes drift to hers before snapping back when he heard her on screen say Finnick's name, and she watched as Finnick surged forward and kissed her before her tube took her up, Cato's head snapped back to her and his expression was stony and the way he looked at her scared her.

"Please I'm sorry, just let me explain," she said pulling his hand he snapped it away. The hologram kept playing and another scene light up the screen, again and she looked back fearfully as she came into view in her hospital bed and she watched as her eyes began to flicker open, she waited with bated breath as once again she knew the ending. Cato jumped up and kicked his chair back as Lily kissed Finnick back, he stormed out of the room.

"As I said," He directed at Lily as she stood up, "convince me." She ran out the door and down the platform trying to catch up with Cato, he boarded the train and Lily sped up unfortunately the cart he boarded was where everyone was sitting and all their eyes turned to them as she called out to him.

"Cato please ," she said desperately pulling onto his shoulder, She could see Finnick and Katniss stood up as they registered the angry radiating of Cato, he spun around wrapping a hand around her neck slamming her back into the wall, Finnick yelled out in protest as he and Peeta moved forward to help Lily.

"It was all a fucking lie," he hissed at her and she shook her head tears falling from both their eyes. "How fucking could you trick me into this… this charade!" He roared at her. "What you and your precious play boy came up with this plan and laughed about how it worked?"

"Let her go," Finnick shoved him off her and she fell, Peeta rushed forward to help her up and Cato rounded on Finnick, punching him in the jaw knocking him to the ground.

"You two can have each other, I want nothing to do with you again." he spat looking at Lily who was sobbing uncontrollably trying to push out of Peeta's arms who was holding onto her in fear of what Cato would do if she got too close again. Cato punched the wall opposite him which left a hole to which Kit and Effie gasped at before storming off, his Mentor's got up to follow him probably more so to make sure he didn't damage anymore of the train.

Finnick got up holding his jaw before moving over to Lily taking her from Peeta as she continued to sob. "Princess what on earth is going on?"

It took a few more minutes of Lily sobbing before she could gasp out, "President Snow," She sobbed and Finnick rubbed her back trying to calm her. "He wanted to see us, he isn't convinced and he wanted us to convince him it was real, he played Cato footage of when I was going up in the tube and when I first woke up in hospital," Finnick nodded guilty, knowing exactly what Snow would have played for Cato.

"I'm sorry Princess," Finnick said gently kissing the top of her head and pulling her into comfort her as she continued to cry.

"What footage did he play?" Katniss asked confused at what was actually happening.

"Never mind," Finnick mumbled, shaking his head and mouth later to both her and Peeta. He hold Lily what seemed like an eternity as she cried before stopped and stood up.

"I need to go and find him," She said quietly.

"I don't think that's a good idea he seemed pretty angry," Finnick frowned.

"I need to explain this to him," Lily dismissed before disappearing off in the direction Cato went hearing Finnick sigh behind her but making no move to stop her. She found him sitting in the last car, sitting on a lounge under a massive window, a bottle of what looked like some sort of alcohol in his hand.

"Fuck off Lily," he glared at her, fury still burning in his eyes letting her know that he had not calmed down like she had hoped.

"Let me explain please," She begged rushing forward and kneeling in front of him.

"Why so you can tell me the next lie you two have made up?" He spat venomously shoving her hands off where she had placed him on his legs.

"No, I never lied to you, all my feelings everything between us that is all real!" She said licking her lips, tears starting to fall again.

"And what about you and your playboy?" He glared at her. "I asked you in that cave if there was anyone else and you lied straight to my face"

"I didn't lie, we aren't anything, and he kissed me before the games because we both didn't know if I would make it out," She told him, "And the hospital, well I had just woken up and he was relived I was alive and I was too I thought I died."

"Did you let him between your thighs?"

"No," She protested. "What you saw was it!"

"Don't lie to me."

"I'm not, that's it,"

"Do you love him?" he demanded.

Lily stayed silent for a minute, "I don't love him, not like I love you,"

"But you have feelings for him?" Her silence answered his question and he glared at her.

"But I love you," She said quietly.

"I hate you." He said looking at her in a way she had never seen him look at her before.

"Don't say that," She sobbed, "Unless you really mean it,"

"I do mean it," The door opened behind them, and Brutus stuck his head in.

"We're arriving," He grunted before closing the door.

"Please Cato, we can't leave it like this," She begged, taking his hands.

"You're meant to be mine Lil. How dare you betray that?" He said standing up, brushing her off, she fell to the seat he just stood up from the seat and she sobbed as he walked out the door without a second glance. The Train stopped and started again as she cried. Peeta came to sit with her, as she silently stared out the window until the train started to slow again. Finnick stuck his head in and told her they'd arrived home, she hugged Peeta before silently making her way off the train.

A huge crowd, had gathered at the station all cheering happy to see her again, Lily could barely fake a smile she felt so heart broken.

"Lil," she heard a familiar voice call through the crowd, her eyes frantically search for the face almost identical to her own. The crowd seemed to part and Kai became visible, her feet took off and she ran faster than she ever had and she crashed into him, clinging to him as she cried this time for the relief of seeing her brother again, her parents stood behind them she reached out her hand for her Mum and both her parents hugged them crying. Not ready to let go of Kai as he tried to pull away she shook her head and held on tighter. She was home.

A/N: ahhh that's it. That's the end. I will be of course working on a sequel that will follow them on their victory tour and will have Cato and Lily reunite. Please review! Let me know what you think! Nothing motivates me more!
