Jessica was caught off guard. To hear that a man, other than Frank, wanted to make love to her? Truth be told, she always thought of Seth as good friend and she never had romantic feelings for him.
Over the years, though, she missed having a man to hold her especially when her life was in danger. She also missed having a man next to her, to make her feel that warmth that only love making could.
It was during these past few months that the only man she truly felt secure with, truly wanted to give her heart to, was Seth. As she just explained to him, there is always something special about your first love that you'll never find again.
However, there's no rule saying a widow or widower can't find some form of love again…it's just…different. As we age, our feelings of love change. Maybe they mature too?
Neither one was looking for a romance. They certainly weren't Deborah Kerr and Burt Lancaster in "From Here to Eternity." They were more like Tracy and Hepburn.
Jessica stood up, walked to Seth and gave him a tender kiss on his lips.
It sent goosebumps up his arms, luckily his shirt covered them.
"Oh Jess, you've made me the happiest man alive." He then gave her a hug and he didn't want to let go.
"Seth, you make me feel alive," she said into his shoulder. "You know what would make me feel even better?"
Seth released her so that he could look right into her eyes, "If you'd let me spend the night with you?"
Seth formed the biggest smile and he gently grabbed a hold of Jessica's hand.
"I can't think of anything I want more," and he led her upstairs.
Both were as nervous as two young lovers.
Before opening the door, Seth took Jessica in his arms for a long, passionate kiss.
He opened the door, they walked in and he closed it. He embraced Jessica and let his actions speak for himself. He whispered in her ear, "Jessica, are you sure…you want to go through with this?"
"I want this night to happen, Seth."
She began to remove her clothes slowly until she was in her undergarments. Seth almost forgot to do the same until he snapped out of his stupor of seeing Jessica like this.
Jessica stepped closer to examine the single dog-tag that hung around his neck. She had never looked at it up close before. She could only imagine how dashing Seth looked in his military dress uniform after coming home from the War.
Seth gently took her face in his hands and she closed her eyes at how the sweet gesture made her want to melt.
Seth pulled at one of the corners of the bedding and pulled it back. Jessica sat down first, and they began to kiss. Slowly at first before they became engulfed in their own flames of passion.
Seth began to lean forward, and Jessica laid back against the pillows. Seth began to kiss her neck and her upper chest. She inhaled sharply and realized just how right this felt.
She reached up and pulled Seth's t-shirt off while he dropped the straps of her bra from her shoulders.
They both began to get chilly, so Seth quickly pulled the covers half way up their bodies and deftly continued where he left off. It wasn't long before Jessica encouraged Seth to roll on his back so that she could caress and tease him in ways he never felt before.
With their two bodies so close to each other, Jessica could feel that it was time. Seth could barely get out the phrase, "Jessica, I want you, now."
She just looked up at him with those blue eyes. It was awkward, at first, since this was something new for them…with each other. Oh heck, making love is not like what you see in the movies. There's a rhythm that must be met, a comfort level among two bodies.
Seth reached the crescendo but wanted Jessica to as well. You wouldn't know it by looking at him, but Seth knew just the right spots to hit. Well, he is a doctor after all.
As Jessica reached her crescendo it felt like the heavens had opened. The headiness of it all took her by surprise. Soon, both fell fast asleep.
