Episode 1-22 Within the Serpent's Grasp
Episode Summary: SG-1 gated to a planet that ended up being a ship. The ship is on the way to earth to attack.
Hammond sat alone in his office on the red phone to the president.
"We need to start evacuation immediately. Those on the list have already been notified. You need to board Air Force 1 Sir."
Hammond listened to the president on the other end of the phone.
"I understand that Sir, but we already know the order in which the Goa'uld are going to attack the planet. They will start with the large cities. DC included. But Doctor Jackson reported that the Jaffa knew where to find the stargate. Whether they can sense it, or follow the evacuation, I don't know. But we have a very limited time to get people through the gate."
Hammond once again listened to the president on the other end of the phone.
"With all due respect Mr. President, you can broadcast a speech from the SGC just as easily. Air Force 1 was shot down in the other reality. There is no need for that to happen again. You don't have to immediately evacuate through the gate. But you need to get inside the mountain."
"Yes Sir." Hammond said one last time as he hung up the phone. He pushed up from his desk and went back down to the control room.
"Any news?" He asked Sargent Harrimon.
"No General. Nasa reports the ships are still standing still."
"Maybe they don't think we have the technology to detect them." The General thought out loud.
"Maybe SG-1… Maybe they stopped the ships sir." The Sargent spoke up, hopefully.
"I hope you're right. But they would have tried to contact us by now if that were the case."
"Yes Sir." The Sargent answered.
"Keep me appraised of the situation. I'll be in my office."
"Yes General." The Sargent sat quietly at his console. He believed SG-1 would stop the enemy attack on earth. He had to believe it. There was no alternative.
