An Aura Guardian Battle Royal!

Standing on the pitch of Cameran Stadium were the four Aura Guardians prepared to engage in a Battle Royal to celebrate the Kingdom of Rota's Guardian of Aura Festival. The rules of this match involved having the four trainers standing at an equal distance apart from each other on a square shaped field. Hovering above the center of the battlefield was the special guest referee, Lance, on the back of one of his Dragonites. "The rules are as follows: Each trainer shall select one Pokemon to do battle, as you all shall engage in a free for all! The last Aura Guardian standing will be crowned winner!" The audience (as well as the remaining group from the Ultimate Alliance of Trainers in the stands) erupted into a roar, as the four Guardians readied their Pokeballs.

"You ready Lex?" Ash said, who stood to the left of his sister.

"I've never battled in front of this many people before!" The teenager said, in awe by the experience. "But I am so ready to take you all on!"

"Best of luck to you!" Alex said, standing to the left of Ash. "But fair warning! I have to represent Galar as its Champion so that means I must claim victory!"

"Well," Blue cut in, standing left of Alex. "As a former Champion of Kanto in my home world, I know a little thing about representation! You better put up quite the fight, mate!"

"Now it's personal," Alex said, clutching his Pokeball tighter, narrowing his eyes at the man in the brown bomber jacket.

"Let the battle commence!" Lance announced, as him and his Dragonite took off higher over the field in order to avoid the battle below.

"Poliwrath, lend me a hand!" Blue shouted, throwing out the Tadpole Pokemon, who readied its white fists, slightly hopping back and forth on its two feet.

"Incineroar, may the Aura guide you!" Ash said, throwing out his Pokemon who had the most experience with this format of battling. The belt burned brightly around the Pokemon's waist, as it threw its head back, blowing a large Flamethrower from its mouth (which successfully riled up the audience.

"C'mon out Vigoroth!" Alexa said, throwing out the sloth Pokemon that she rescued from the imprisonment of Team Rocket during her time captive aboard their Freighter. The sloth struck its claws together, giving a wide grin to the people which surrounded it.

"Urshifu, Ready!" Alex said, throwing out one of the Pokemon that had helped him Master his Aura during his training on the Isle of Armor. The tall, black and grey bear Pokemon stood expressionless on one leg, lightly swaying as it surveyed its three opponents.

Incineroar kicked off the battle by enveloping itself in dark energy, as it sped across the field into a Darkest Lariat. Next to move was Vigoroth, who readied a Metal Claw as it charged head on at Alex's Urshifu. Vigoroth lunged at its target, with a silver claw, but was hit out off mid-air by Ash's Incineroar and its Darkest Lariat.

"Oh man!" Alexa said, as Vigoroth was swatted away. 'I guess Ash isn't going to be helping me out…'

"Aerial Ace!" Alex called out to his Pokemon.

"Water Pulse, Poli!" Blue called out to his teammate.

The two Water/Fighting Types engaged in battle, as the Legendary Pokemon sped across the field, slamming into its opponent with a super effective attack. As Blue's Poliwrath flew backwards through the air, it formed a small orb of water in between its palms, which was then launched in retaliation. The pulse attack hit its mark, causing the bear-like Pokemon to become dazed with confusion.

Ash, turning and seeing the outcome of Urshifu's scuffle with Poliwrath, saw an opportunity to launch his own attack on the Pokemon. "Let's go, Incineroar! Darkest Lariat!" Ash's Heel Pokemon gave a toothy grin, before enveloping itself in dark energy once more.

"You go too, Vigoroth! Use Slash!"

"Poliwrath, use Power-Up Punch!"

"Focus Urshifu!" The Champion of Galar to his Pokemon. While it was confused, the Pokemon stood atop one leg, rhythmically swaying as it did. "Use Surging Strikes!"

As its three oncoming opponents charged head on at the Pokemon from all directions, Urshifu steadied its breathing as a torrent of blue water and Aura swirled around the Pokemon. With a fist cloaked in water, Urshifu launched forwards socking the mid-spin Incineroar in the face, sending it to the ground. Poliwrath, who had made its way behind its foe, was met with a roundhouse kick, the second of Urshifu's three Surging Strikes. When Vigoroth made its way to the Wushu Pokemon, it skidded to a halt as the Urshifu swung its fist forwards with its last Surging Strike. Crossing its arms over its face to protect itself, Vigoroth braced itself for the attack. When glancing back at its opponent, however, it witnessed the Urshifu deliver a punch to its own face due to the confusion it was still experiencing.

"There's our opening!" Alexa cheered, as Vigoroth launched forwards, slashing the Wushu Pokemon, causing it to stumble backwards. "Now use Brick Break!" Obeying its trainer, her Vigoroth swung down another clawed hand on top of its opponent's head.

Aside from Alexa and Alex's Pokemon who were now engaging each other in battle stood Poliwrath and Incineroar. The two combatants circled each other, exchanging remarks.

'Listen here you buff frog!' Incineroar said with a growl. 'When I'm through with ya, you're gonna wanna crawl back to your little back-water pond you came from!'

Unintimidated, Poliwrath glared at its opponent. 'Say that to my fist!' Enveloping itself in an Aqua Jet, with a Power-Up Punch at the ready, Poliwrath shot forwards at the Alolan Starter. Incineroar, countered, by sidestepping its opponent, delivering a Throat Chop to the side of its body as it sped by. The Tadpole Pokemon crashed to the ground, before quickly springing back to its feet.

'Blue, I'm ready!' The Poliwrath said, giving a nod to its trainer.

Blue returned the gesture, as he rolled up his sleeve showing off his white Z-Ring. "I gotta say Ash, you might regret giving this thing back to me!" Placing a Waterium Z-Crystal on his bracelet, both trainer and Pokemon readied themselves to launch their full power in the form of a Z-Move. As Blue performed the necessary dance, Poliwrath was filled with orange energy as it charged a large orb of water in its hands. "Hydro Vortex!" The former Viridian City Gym Leader announced, as his Pokemon fired off its Z-Move.

Thinking fast, before the move was launched, Ash came up with a command for his Incineroar. "Darkest Lariat!"

His Pokemon obeyed, spinning in place as dark energy cloaked its body. When the Z-Move hit the field, a large whirlpool of water hit the field, sucking the spinning Pokemon up into it. Being propelled up the vortex, Incineroar was spit out the top, still cloaked in its Darkest Lariat. When the attack subsided, Incineroar touched back down on the ground; drenched in water, but sustaining less damage than it would have by taking the full brunt of the attack. Swelling its chest, as its eyes glowed red, Incineroar fired off an intense Flamethrower from its mouth onto its opponent which left it with a nasty burn.

"Way to go Incineroar!" Ash exclaimed. "Let's put that Blaze Ability to work!"

Alex observed the washed up battlefield courtesy of Poliwrath's Hydro Vortex. Catching his eye was the green glint of a crystal at the feline Pokemon's feet. Suddenly, the Professor heard a beeping sound, as the black Dynamax band around his wrist went online for the first time since coming to the Kanto Region. Observing tiny green particles entering his wrist band, the Professor's eyes widened as he realized his theory on the Tree of Beginning (and its crystals which being a Power Spot were true after all.

"NO WAY!" The Galarian Professor/Champion shouted excitedly, throwing his hands into the air. Considering he was a Dynamax Specialist, he was excited to finally show off his talents (in front of a crowd nonetheless.)

"What's got you so excited, Peters?" Ash said with a smirk, uncertain of what had gotten into his friend.

"Let's just say I just got the home-field advantage!" The Galarian native said returning his Urshifu to its Pokeball. Emitting from the band was a green light, as green Dynamax Particles previously collected from Rota's crystals entered the Champion's Pokeball. For the combatants, looks of confusion soon turned to looks of shock and fear, realizing what was going on.

Urshifu's ball grew to a great size in Alex's hands (about the size of a yoga ball,) as he raised it over his head and tossed it onto the field. Bursting from the ball was the Gigantamax form of Urshifu, which stood upright in a Rapid Strike Style stance. Alexa and Vigoroth could only stare in awe at the large blue and white skyscraper of a Pokemon, who let out an intense roar that rumbled throughout the stadium.

Shocked at the spectacle of a Dynamax Pokemon appearing in the Kanto Region, the reactions from the audience were mixed. While some audience goers applauded the spectacle, some ran in fear at the sight of the ginormous beast that was once Alex's six foot tall Urshifu. As for their allies in the stands, they were all captivated by the Gigantamax Pokemon in their comrade's possession.

Ash turned towards the Champion of Kanto (and referee of the match), who sat high in the air atop his partner Dragonite. "Lance, can he even do this? I thought this was supposed to be an Alolan Battle Royale!"

"I can't say that I've planned for this," The Special Guest referee stated. "But all's fair on the battlefield!"

"Sweet! Alright Urshifu! We've waited a long time for this!" The Galarian Professor said, tying his hair up into a bun, getting pumped up for battle. "Let's start with a Max Airstrike!"

G-Max Urshifu narrowed its glowing eyes locking onto its three potential targets. Bringing its golden claws inwards, it created an orb of swirling air. Launching its hands forwards, the orb of swirling wind transitioned to that of a horizontal tornado, catching Poliwrath, Incineroar and Vigototh in its vortex. The three Pokemon were forcibly pushed backwards and crashed into the stadium wall, while Alexa sprawled out on the ground in order to avoid the attack. When the move subsided, Urshifu let out a roar as its speed stat was increased.

"Yo! Watch it!" The teenager said, rising back to her feet, dusting herself off.

"Sorry Alexa!" Alex said in an apologetic voice. "I was so excited to Dynamax again, I couldn't help myself!"

"Ash, how do we beat that thing!" Alexa said, who had no experience with battling Dynamaxed opponents. "It's like the size of a skyscraper!"

"It's gonna take a lot of fire power," Her brother responded.

"I say we call a truce!" Blue said.

'Right!' The three battlers said in unison, ready to bring on a fight to their towering opponent. Together the Incineroar, Poliwrath and Vigoroth, stood side by side, looking up at the enormous Pokemon before them.
