Hello and welcome to chapter 9. Last time, Agumon Digivolved to Greymon and knocked Shellmon out of the park while Naruto and Dorugamon took care of Ebidramon. Now it will be Gabumon's turn to Digivolve and he will be facing Seadramon. As I said before, Seadramon won't be alone and Hinata and Lunamon will have to step in and help. However, there will also be a side story depicting the build up to one more villain in the Digimon Adventure line up. If you've seen the episodes that take place on Server before the Myotismon Arc, you know who I'm talking about.
Chapter 9:
At Myotismon's castle, Piedmon had just given Myotismon and offer to join the Dark masters.
"What are you really here for," Myotismon questioned calmly.
"To offer you a proposition," Piedmon answered, "More specifically, a place in our ranks as a member of the Dark Masters."
"You want me to join your little club," Myotismon questioned.
"The choice is yours and yours alone," Piedmon replied.
Before either could say anything else, loud music was heard throughout the castle. It was so loud that it forced both vampire and jester to cover their ears in annoyance.
"What the hell is that infernal music," Myotismon complained.
"I don't know, but I'm going to kill whoever is playing it," Piedmon answered.
The two then ran outside to find out what was going on. Luckily for Myotismon there was a cloud cover over his castle, allowing him to go outside even during the day time. When he and Piedmon got outside, they were both shocked and confused. Right in front of them was a familiar rock and roll loving, monkey Digimon wearing sunglasses and singing in front of Myotismon's minions.
"Oh great," Myotismon sweat dropped. "It's Etemon…"
"Of all the idiotic fools out there, why did it have to be him," Piedmon also sweat dropped before he prepared for an attack.
Myotismon also prepared himself for an attack.
"NIGHTMARE CLAW…!"
"FINISHING SNIPER…!"
Myotismon unleased a wave from his cape while Piedmon fired a magical blast from his hands, and both attacks struck the gigantic speakers Etemon was using.
"Hey, what's the big idea, destroying my speakers like that," Etemon gasped.
"The real question is, Etemon, what are you doing here," Myotismon questioned while glaring.
"You mean it's not obvious," Etemon countered. "I'm here to sing my heart out to all of your minions here."
"For your information, you interrupted our meeting," Piedmon glared as well.
"No let's get something straight sunny boy," said Etemon. "I'm the monarch of Rock-and-Roll. Your jives make me happy."
Piedmon and Myotismon then surrounded Etemon and bared their weapons at him, much to his fear.
"Need I remind you of why either of us is superior to you," Piedmon glared. "If not for the fact that you're a professional assassin as well as a musician, I would have destroyed you long ago."
"And if you don't leave, I will destroy you," Myotismon threatened. "Or worse, I will enslave you!"
"Okay, okay, I get the message," Etemon moved his hands defensively. "I'm going, I'm going…!"
Etemon then packed up his stuff and left.
"Stupid monkey," Myotismon and Piedmon muttered simultaneously.
Piedmon turned his attention back to Myotismon. "My offer still stands Myotsimon. But don't answer right away. Take your time to think about it."
Piedmon then headed back to the Dark Masters' headquarters, leaving Myotismon time to think about his offer. But Myotismon had other ideas at the moment.
"Demidevimon," Myotismon called out.
"Yes, Lord Myotismon," said a small flying ball that resembled Devimon.
"Follow Etemon and keep an eye on him," Myotismon ordered. "If he tries making his way back here, steer him away."
"Yes, Lord Myotismon," Demidevimon then flew off to catch up with Etemon.
Myotismon then went back to his office and got back to reading his books.
Back on File Island, the group was walking across a cliff towards the location Naruto and Hinata were talking about. As they walked, they talked about random things.
"Hey, Agumon," said Tai, getting Agumon's attention.
"What's up Tai," Agumon walked up to Tai.
"I like it when you're Greymon," Tai explained. "No offense, but why don't you just stay that way."
"I can't," Agumon sighed.
"It's not that easy Tai," Naruto called out. "If Agumon had Digivolved on his own, he would have stayed that way, but that could take years or even longer. But because Agumon had borrowed some of your energy, it was only temporary."
"How do you know that," Matt questioned before answering it himself. "Oh wait, let me guess, you were listening in on our conversation after we washed up on that shore from the river, weren't you?"
"No, my partner already knew about that before you guys ever showed up," Dorumon argued.
"It's true," Lunamon added. "When Dorumon and I Digivolved for the first time, we reverted back to our rookie forms as soon as we ran out of energy."
Suddenly, Kurama sensed something. "Naruto, I sense two presences."
Having heard Kurama, Naruto stopped in his tracks. Suddenly there was a loud roar and a large Digimon resembling an armored Styracosaurus came out from behind a rock, looking rather mean at the group.
"Who's that Digimon," Izzy asked.
"It's a Monochromon," Tentomon identified. "But don't worry about him he's a laid back Digimon. Although, it is wise to a bit cautious with them. They do tend to get a bit miffed when they're hungry."
"And on top of that, they have shells that are said to be harder than diamonds," Lunamon added.
"Well he must be starving because he looks really mad," Tai gasped.
"And I think he wants to eat us," said Mimi.
"I beg to differ," Naruto noticed a second Monochromon.
The others took notice.
"There are two of them," Joe gasped.
"We're caught between a rock and two sets of teeth," Matt gasped.
"Then we'd better get out of the way," Naruto told them. "They're not after us, but we don't want to get caught in the crossfire."
The group moved out of the way and the Monochromon faced each other.
"I thought I told you that this is my territory," said the first Monochromon.
"And I thought I told you I don't care," said the second Monochromon.
"I'm warning you, if you don't get out of here, I'll throw you in the water bellow," the first Monochromon threatened.
"Not if I throw you in there first," said the second Monochromon.
Both Monochromon then charged at one another and locked horns. Both pushed with all their might, but then both moved back and circled each other. One Monochromon swung its tail at a rock and sent it flying into the face of the other. The group was watching from behind a large rock and realized what was going on.
"Just as I thought, they're fighting over territory," said Naruto. "We'd better get out of here before we get caught in the crossfire."
"Right," The Digidestined and their Digimon agreed.
Hinata then used her Byakugan and saw a clear way. "This way everyone…!"
Everyone started running as fast as they could to get away from the area. Naruto and Hinata however had to slow down in order keep an eye on the Digidestined.
"VOLCANIC STRIKE…!"
Both Monochromon spat out a ball of volcanic fire at each other which causing an explosion. It was a wonder that the cliff didn't break. The two then charged at one another once more, only to realize too late that the cliff was breaking underneath them.
"Uh-oh," both Monochromon gasped before they fell down into the water below.
On Infinity Mountain, Sasuke and Sakura had arrived back at Devimon's temple, having completed their missions.
"Did you succeed on your mission Sakura," Sasuke asked.
"I did," Sakura confirmed. "I placed the Black Gear inside Centarumon. What about you?"
"I place the Black Gears I had inside of Frigimon and Mojyamon," Sasuke answered. "Let's go back inside and wait further orders."
"Right," Sakura agreed.
The two then entered the temple to await further orders from Devimon.
Later that day as the sun set, the group walked through a part of forest that was filled with street signs of all kinds.
"I don't walk this much unless I'm at a mall, and as you can see, we're nowhere near one," Mimi complained before getting close to Naruto, much to Hinata's annoyance. "Still, if I'm walking next to my handsome Naruto, I'm okay."
"Mimi, stop flirting with our teacher," Tai told her. "Besides, he and Hinata live together in the same apartment. I know this because we're next-door neighbors. For all we know, they're probably in a relationship."
"And since when were you an export on that stuff Tai," Matt questioned.
"Yeah, Tai," Sora agreed. "You've always been more preoccupied with soccer and physical activities."
"Well ah," Tai stuttered.
"So you're saying that you met Naruto and Hinata in the Real World," Agumon asked Dorumon and Lunamon.
"Well yeah," Dorumon answered.
"Needless to say, it's been quite the nice few years," Lunamon explained. "They gave us all the food we needed and they helped us Digivolve."
"That's impressive," Palmon admired. "I'm just surprised we never asked you guys these questions until now."
Suddenly, Mimi stopped.
"Mimi, are you okay," Naruto asked.
"No my feet hurt," Mimi told him. "Could you be a gentleman and carry me, Naruto?"
But Agumon had a different idea. "Maybe if you take off your boots and socks, you'd feel better Mimi. It's much more practical, I think."
"I'm not walked on dirt with my bare feet," Mimi complained.
Palmon walked up. "I love the feel of dirt on my feet, especially between my toes."
"Gross," Mimi complained as Palmon placed her hands on the forest floor.
Izzy and Sora looked up and noticed the sun setting.
"It appears that we may be losing our light source," Izzy noted.
"What a weird sunset," Sora noted.
"This whole island is weird, and who knows what will come out of night," Izzy pointed out.
"We know what will come out at night," Hinata pointed out.
"How much further is this spot," Matt questioned.
"Not much further now," Naruto answered.
The group continued to walk until they came across a lake. One part of it was filled with several transmission towers, with some still standing while others were in pieces, but all of them had wires that were disconnected.
"Well this is the spot," Naruto told the group. "Hinata and I visited this place some time ago. There's plenty of fish to eat in this lake, there's a Seadramon who guards it and there are no other Digimon around."
"A Seadramon," Joe asked.
"He's a Sea Serpent Digimon," Hinata showed everyone what he looked like through her D-Power. "He's at champion level and his signature attack is the Ice Blast."
"Maybe we shouldn't camp here," Matt pointed out, getting everyone's attention. "If this is Seadramon's lake, then we shouldn't be trespassing."
"Then I guess you have a better idea," Tai questioned. "In case you didn't notice Matt, everyone's tired and hungry and it's getting dark. We can't keep walking forever, we need to eat and rest for the night. Besides, if Naruto and Hinata have been here before, then it might as well be safe, just as long as we don't provoke this Seadramon guy."
While Matt wanted to protest, he could see that everyone, especially TK, was indeed tired from the day's activities. First they went through a summer snowstorm, then they were sucked into the Digital World, then they get attacked by Kuwagamon, almost get eaten by Shellmon and Ebidramon, and avoided a territorial dispute between two Monochromon. Not to mention all the walking they did in between. Realizing that he himself was also tired from today's activities, Matt agreed to rest up at the lake for the night and prayed that they would not bump into this Seadramon any time soon.
The group were about to settle down when Mimi noticed something. About one hundred meters away from them was a trolley car sitting on a dome-shaped lump of rock connected to the shore by a sidewalk wide strip of land that was up to ten meters long.
"What's that," Tai asked.
"It looks like a trolley car," TK answered.
"That's probably because it is," Hinata pointed out.
"That's odd, the lights jut came on," said Izzy.
"Maybe there are actual people in there," Sora reasoned.
"Let's check it out," Tai started running towards the trolley with the other Digidestined and their partners following behind him.
However, Naruto had his suspicions. "Wait a minute…!"
Naruto used his superior speed to get in front of the Digidestined just as they were about to cross that strip of land and stopped them dead in their tracks.
"Hey, what's the big idea," Tai questioned as the others were confused.
"You must never rush into anything," Naruto told them. "It could be a trap. That trolley car wasn't there the last time Hinata and I were here, and that domed land is where Seadramon is sleeping. Make one false move, and you'll provoke him."
Everyone was scared stiff upon hearing this.
"But if there's any chance that," Tai started.
"Hinata and I will go in first," Naruto told him. "And if it's safe, we'll call you."
Naruto, Hinata, Dorumon, and Lunamon then walked across the strip of land and onto the dome. Naruto used his sage powers and Kurama's emotion sensor while Hinata used her Byakugan to inspect the trolley. Dorumon and Lunamon looked around and found Seadramon's tail buried in the dirt. Determining that there was no trace of danger, Naruto and Hinata called out to the Digidestined.
"Come on everyone," Hinata called. "It's all right."
"Just don't step on Seadramon's tail," Naruto informed them as Dorumon and Lunamon made a signal to tell them where the tail was.
Happy that they were in no danger, the group walked up the trolley. Upon reaching the trolley, they were disappointed to find it empty.
"Where is everyone," Tai asked. "It's empty…!"
"Totally empty," Sora agreed.
"That's strange," said Izzy, observing the trolley floor. "No trolley car is this clean."
Mimi sat on some of the seats. "Oh goody, these seats are comfy. Of course they'd be even more comfy if my handsome Naruto was sitting here next to me."
"Will you give it a rest Mimi," Tai told her. "Anyway, something's wrong. Remember those phone booths we saw on the beach? Something just as freaky could happen here. And that's not even mentioning this Seadramon guy's presence."
"Come to think of it, where is Seadramon," Joe asked.
"He's over here," Dorumon called out, he and Lunamon were standing on either side of Seadramon's tail.
The group walked outside the trolley and saw what appeared to be a red tailfin imbedded in the ground. Making sure that they didn't accidentally step on it for fear of waking him up, the group all looked at the tail.
"So this is Seadramon," Tai asked.
"No this is just his tail," Naruto explained.
"Where's the rest of his body," Sora asked.
"It's in the water," Hinata answered. "He's asleep right now, but if we disturb him in any way, he'll attack us out of anger."
"Good point," Mimi acknowledged.
"Can we eat now," Tentomon complained.
"Oh yeah, I forgot," said Tai.
On the content of Server, Salamon was walking across a meadow flowers near a lake when all of the sudden, a Monochromon pulling a trailer came marching by. Salamon noticed that the incoming trailer was heading right for her, jumped out of the way at the last second.
"What was that about," Salamon asked as she noticed a face painted on the back of the trailer (which turned out to be Etemon's).
In the trailer, Etemon was rehearsing a song he just wrote, which turned out to be the same song he sang back at Myotismon's castle.
Yeah, yeah
I'm the coolest cat there is and if you don't watch out
I'm gonna get you good, you'll scream and shout
'Cause I'm the hippest Digimon in Town
Oh, yeah
Meanwhile, Demidevimon was watching from atop one of the speakers, clearly covering his ears as he didn't like the song at all. "Oh brother, why did I have to be stuck with this loser musician of a Digimon? No wonder Lord Myotismon asked me to keep an eye on him. He's a lunatic."
Suddenly, Etemon bonked Demidevimon on the head.
"Just who are you calling a lunatic," Etemon complained through the microphone, having heard Demidevimon's comment. "Now get to work on fixing those speakers that Myotismon and Piedmon broke back there. If you're going to stay, you're going to work. We'll be arriving at a Burgermon village soon and I want those speakers to be up and running again by the time we reach it."
"Why is this so important," Demidevimon cried, still feeling pain from the bonk.
"Because I'm Etemon," Etemon answered. "You wanna make something of it or what?"
"No, no, I'm good," Demidevimon answered. "I'll get to work."
Demidevimon then got to work on fixing the broken speakers while Etemon continued to rehears his song.
Back on File Island, the group was gathering food from around the lake. Naruto aided in the process using his shadow clones, much to the Digidestined's surprise.
"Prodigious, how are you able to make clones of yourself," Izzy questioned.
"There's a lot about me and Hinata you don't know," Naruto answered before he pulled out one of his summoning scrolls.
"SUMMONING JUSTU…!"
Naruto summoned a fishing poll from the scroll and gave it to Izzy. While Izzy was still confused, he took the poll and cast the line out into the water. Several times he tried to catch fish, but sadly Gomamon was too busy playing nearby and frightened the fish away.
At last Izzy had had enough. "Gomamon, stop playing in the water…! I can't catch any fish if you keep on warning them away…!"
Naruto noticed this as well and ran atop the water and grabbed Gomamon by the tail, pulling him out, much to Gomamon's disappointment.
"I know you just want to relax Gomamon, but you have to do that away from wherever others are trying to fish," Naruto told him.
"Oh okay, I'll be careful," Gomamon agreed as Naruto let him go.
"In any case, this spot isn't that good for fishing, now that I think about it," Naruto told Izzy. "Why not try the spot around the transmission towers?"
Izzy, seeing the logic in Naruto's suggestion, agreed. "Yeah, good point."
"Yum, yum, you can't get too many berries down the hatch," said Tentomon as he eyed some berries on a tree branch while Sora and Joe walked bellow with some firewood.
Patamon, standing atop Agumon's head, fired a Boom Bubble at a fruit tree, knocking down some banana-shaped fruit. It was about to land on Gabumon's horn, but Lunamon caught it at the last second, saving the fruit. Unfortunately, she lost her balance and landed on top of Gabumon, much to Biyomon's amusement and Patamon's shame.
"Oh boy, you'd better watch that killer breath of yours, Patamon," Biyomon laughed as she flew up to a fruit and grabbed it with her beak.
Unfortunately, the stem that attached the fruit to the tree was stubborn and wouldn't let go. Now it was Patamon's turn to be amused and Biyomon's turn to feel shame.
"At least my "killer breath" actually detached the fruit from the tree, Biyomon," Patamon laughed.
"Those are bad mushrooms, you shouldn't pick them," said Palmon to Mimi as they tried to gather mushrooms. "They'll make you sick."
Mimi was about to pick some of the said mushrooms, but stopped as soon as she heard what Palmon told her. "I'd be a big mess without you Palmon. You're the best."
Palmon praised herself.
"Maybe, but these mushrooms over here are fine," one of Naruto's clones mentioned.
"Oh goody," Mimi praised. "My handsome prince charming is almost as good as you Palmon."
"Ah thanks," Palmon blushed.
"Well we're all set to cook dinner," said Matt as he, Tai, and Sora stood by a fire pit the made. "Now all we need is the grub."
"Great, but how are we supposed to light the fire," Sora asked.
"Like this," Agumon came up and used his Pepper Breath attack on the fire pit, lighting the fire instantly.
"Wow, Agumon, you're the man," Tai praised.
Agumon was flattered.
"Can't you just bring out some more of those bento boxes," Joe asked Hinata as she cleaned the ones used back at the beach.
"We have to try and conserve them," Hinata told Joe. "Who knows how long we're going to be here and if we run out of food, we could starve."
Joe was about to protest, but seeing the logic in Hinata's words, he agreed. "Good point."
Just then, Izzy and TK showed up with a bunch of fish on hand.
"Hey look guys," said TK.
"We caught a bunch of fish," said Izzy.
"Good thing Naruto advised us about fishing near those transmission towers," TK smiled.
"Not to mention that the wires on those towers weren't connected so we didn't get shocked," Izzy added.
"Awesome, Izzy," said Tai as he took the fish Izzy caught. "Let's eat 'em."
"Thanks squirt," said Matt as he took the fish TK caught.
"This is where I wish we had a microwave," said Tai before he noticed Matt with a fish on a stick. "Huh…?"
"Me, too, because you're about to lose your fingers," Matt commented. "Why don't you use a stick?"
"How did you come up with that, Matt," Tai questioned.
"Because I'm the man," Matt replied after placing his stick in the ground just in front of the fire.
Meanwhile, Naruto and Hinata were busy catching fish and gathering fruits, vegetables, and edible mushrooms of their own. But for some strange reason, they didn't take them to the fire to eat with the others. Instead, they sealed most of them away inside some of their scrolls. Whatever they were up to wasn't clear, or was it?
Later that night, everyone was sitting around the camp fire, eating the food they gathered.
"This is surprisingly good," said Tentomon as he and Biyomon feasted upon a large fruit.
"Delicious," said Izzy as he chowed down on a fish he roasted.
"Matt, mom only lets me eat fish sticks," T.K. complained.
"I won't tell," Matt told T.K.
"And I never eat with my fingers," T.K. continued.
"T.K., it's all right," Matt told him, though this time with a little more hostility.
"Yeah, you're hanging with the big boys now," Tai joked.
"And besides, eating things like this was going to happen back at the summer camp anyway," Naruto added. "I looked."
"Okay," TK then started chowing down on his fish.
Tai then walked up to Sora, who was gathering water from the lake with Hinata. "Hey, Sora…?"
"What," Sora replied.
"Matt doesn't treat T.K. like a brother, only like he's a bother," Tai explained. "Is it just me or have your noticed that, too?"
"Yeah I have," Sora explained.
"But I wonder why," said Tai.
"Matt's still learning to be a big brother," Sora explained.
"Maybe," Tai sighed.
Joe then walked up to the two.
"Hey, Joe," said Sora. "What are you looking at?"
"I'm trying to figure out which direction we've been going," said Joe. "But the stars seem to be all mixed up. I haven't been able to find the North Star anywhere."
"I know," Sora agreed. "I don't recognize any of these contellations."
"You're forgetting your astronomy," said Tai. "If you can't see the North Star then it's probably on the other side of the world."
"Come to think of it, Naruto and Hinata have been here longer so maybe they know which way is north," Sora acknowledged.
"Yeah I guess you're right," Joe agreed. "We haven't even bothered asking them ever since the beach and they are our teachers. Maybe we should ask them."
Doing just that, Tai, Sora and Joe walked up to Naruto and Hinata and asked them if they knew which way was north. To answer that, Hinata took out one of her scrolls and showed them a picture of all the stars and constellations that were visible on the island. What they saw surprised them.
"From what we can tell, this world has its own constellations," Hinata explained. "It also has both a north star and a south star, but we can't see them from where we're located because we're somewhere in the equator on an island called File Island. You can see why we can't see either star."
They looked around and saw that there were hills and trees blocking both the north and the south from view, making it impossible to see the north and south stars.
Suddenly, Patamon yawned, getting T.K.'s attention. "Look, Patamon's tired."
Patamon then fell asleep. Nearby, Palmon and Gomamon were also sleeping.
"I'm getting really tired myself," Tai stretched out his arms and yawned.
"Wait a second," said Izzy. "I think we should take turns standing guard."
"Alright, who wants to go first," said Joe.
"Why don't you guys get some shut eye," said Naruto. "I'll take the first watch. We'll each rotate every hour."
"Not T.K.," said Matt.
"Oh come on, me too Matt," T.K. protested.
"No you're too young and you need your rest," Matt argued.
"I'm getting cold," said Mimi, feeling the air around her. "I need a warm blanket to help me sleep."
Tai then decided to tease Gabumon after hearing Mimi's comment. "Hey, Gabumon, watch it. Mimi may sneak up on you and steal your fur, so if you feel a little tug, it might be her about to cut your tail off."
"Stop Tai, that's not funny," Gabumon walked away as Tai laughed.
Suddenly, Matt walked up to Tai and pushed him away. "Quit it…!"
Tai wasn't too pleased with Matt's actions. "What are you bugging about…?"
"Gabumon told you to stop, so knock it off," Matt told him.
"Hey, you can't tell me what to do," Tai argued.
Tai and Matt then grabbed onto one another by the shirts and looked like they were about to fight.
"You guys, stop fighting," T.K. protested.
Naruto noticed this and decided to play a trick on Tai and Matt. Sneaking up behind Tai, he placed his hand on his back and pushed him while saying, "Oops, my hand slipped."
What happened next was something that left everyone else shocked while Naruto and Hinata were amused. Because of Naruto's actions, Tai and Matt were kissing much like how Naruto once kissed Sasuke long ago. Moments later, the two separated, and tried spitting out the sensation while Naruto giggled. Realizing that they were setup, Tai and Matt understandably walked up to Naruto, glaring at him.
"You did that on purpose, didn't you," Matt shouted.
"If the shoe fits," Naruto laughed before putting on a serious look. "Besides, you both should knock it off. You're making yourselves look even more childish than T.K."
"Yeah, even I'm not that childish," T.K. commented.
"Yeah well he started it," Tai and Matt pointed at each other before looking at one another. "I did not, you did…!"
"I don't care who started, I'll finish it," Naruto then bonked both Tai and Matt on their heads, much to the others' amusement. "Now then, since you two get along so well, you will both have the honor of taking the next watch once my shift is over, so which one of you would like to go first?"
"I will," said Tai.
"I'm next," said Matt.
On Server, Etemon was performing in front of a large audience at the Burgermon village, having arrived hours ago. It was a late night performance and everyone in the village was invited to watch. Luckily for Etemon, Demidevimon was able to fix the speakers that Myotismon and Piedmon broke and everyone watched.
When the song was over, Etemon demanded everyone pay their taxes. "Okay everyone, it's time to pay up."
"Please have mercy on us," said one of the Burgermon. "We need to conserve out money to make our hamburgers."
"Oh really," said Demidevimon. "Well then, let me have a taste of your one of your hamburgers."
The Burgermon then did as requested and gave Demidevimon one of their burgers.
After tasting it, Demidevimon gave his opinion. "Not bad, not bad at all."
The Burgermon were delighted, until, "In fact, it's worse than bad! I've tasted burgers from the garbage that were better than this!"
"But that was one of our best burgers," said the Burgermon.
"Step aside, Demidevimon, and let me have a taste," Etemon then took a burger and tasted it. "What is this? I've tasted rotten bananas that were better than these! I think I'll just level this town!"
"No, no, we'll pay, we'll pay," said one of the Burgermon.
Etemon smiled.
One File Island, everyone had gone back to the trolley car. Naruto and Dorumon were keeping an eye out as they said they would. They had decided that it would be Izzy after Matt, Joe after Izzy, Sora after Joe, Mimi after Sora, and Hinata would finish it off. T.K. still wanted to participate in it, but Matt wouldn't have it, much to his disappointment. Hinata was able to talk T.K. down, telling him that he should consider how Matt felt. At the same time, Naruto talked to Matt, telling him to lighten up.
At present, Naruto was sitting with Dorumon right next to Seadramon's tail, making sure that no one came by and accidentally stepped on it. As they watched, they talked to one another about what adventures they had.
"So Sasuke ended up murdering Danzo and Kakashi Sensei became the new Sixth Hokage candidate," said Naruto, telling the story of Sasuke killing Danzo.
"Good riddance," said Dorumon, not liking Danzo judging from what Naruto described.
"Tell me about it," Naruto agreed.
Soon enough, Tai and Agumon arrived to relieve Naruto of duty.
"Tai, is my hour up," Naruto joked.
"Yeah," Tai told Naruto.
In the trolley car, everyone else was settling down for the night. Although, some were settling down better than others and vice versa.
"I can't sleep with all of you here," Mimi complained. "I'd much rather sleep alone with my Naruto."
"Mimi quit complaining," said Sora. "So it's not perfect. Just be glad that we have a place to sleep."
"That's right Mimi," said Izzy. "Besides, Tai just went out to relieve him of duty so he should be entering soon enough."
Right on que, Naruto entered the trolley car, much to Mimi's delight. But next thing she knew, Naruto walked up to Hinata and sat right next to her. This sight confused her, but she was too tired to think anything of it and went to sleep. One by one, the others joined her.
Luckily for them, Naruto and Hinata had several sleeping bags sealed inside one of their scrolls, which they gladly summoned. But even with those sleeping bags, Matt believed that T.K. could still be a little warmer.
"Gabumon," said Matt.
"Yeah," said Gabumon.
"Go over and lie down with my brother," said Matt.
"Why, Matt," Gabumon asked.
Not wanting to admit his real reasons to his partner, Matt made quickly up an excuse told him, "Because your fur is making me sweat, now go."
But Gabumon saw right through him and corrected him, "Because you want me to keep T.K. warm."
"Hey I didn't say that," Matt told him.
"You just don't want to admit it," Gabumon told him as he got up and went over to T.K.
"Whatever," Matt sighed.
Gabumon lied down on T.K.'s right side (Patamon was on the left), keeping him warm as a result. Feeling Gabumon's warmth, T.K. woke up and simply said, "Thanks Matt."
Matt blushed and left the trolley car.
Naruto and Hinata lied down next to each other in their own sleeping bags, Naruto in an orange sleeping bag and Hinata in a lavender one. As they lied down, they both gazed at each other and began to talk.
"Hinata," said Naruto.
"What is it, Naruto," Hinata asked.
"Thanks for staying by my side," Naruto told her. "Ever since we became trapped here, things have been a bit difficult to adjust to. And I'm still surprised that we haven't aged since that fateful day."
"I know what you mean," Hinata agreed. "I should be eighteen by now and so should you, but we're still technically sixteen. I guess whatever is causing time in the Digital World to go by faster is having some sort of side effect on us."
"I guess so," Naruto agreed with the logic. "Whatever the case, I sure hope things can go back to normal once we get home."
"So do I," said Hinata as she and Naruto fell asleep.
Outside, Tai and Agumon were sitting right next to a camp fire they made. Tai suddenly yawned.
"Tai, you don't want to sleep on your first night watch," said Agumon.
"But my eyes won't stay open," Tai got up and started walking. "I'm going to the lake to splash some water on my face."
But as Tai walked, he failed to notice that he just walked on top of Seadramon's tail, causing it to stir. Bubbles popped up in the water close to the dome. Oblivious to this, Tai splashed some water on his face to keep himself awake. But as he did so, he noticed Matt just standing a few meters away from him.
"Who's there," Tai said at first. "Oh, Matt, don't you think I can handle this?"
"I couldn't sleep," Matt answered.
"Oh and why not," Tai went up to Matt.
"Look, I'm sorry about earlier," Matt apologized. "I didn't mean to get so mad; it's just being here and having to watch T.K. Not to mention Naruto and Hinata didn't even lift a finger to help us during the Kuwagamon attack."
"Yeah, I know what you mean," said Tai, talking about Naruto and Hinata. "Anyway, do you and T.K. even live in the same house?"
"Not anymore," Matt answered. "We're half-brothers and we don't get to see each other much. You probably don't know this because Naruto shoed you back to your apartment that fateful night."
"Oh yeah, I forgot about that," Tai admitted. "I guess that explains a lot."
"On the other hand, we've been able to see each other more frequently since those two took us to Yokohama Cosmo Park and things have been lighting up, but it's still difficult," Matt then ran off back to the main shore.
"Matt's a little strange," said Tai after walking back up to Agumon and the camp fire.
Suddenly they both heard something in the distance. On the shore, Matt was playing his harmonica.
Gabumon, who had left T.K. after seeing Matt run off, walked up to him and said, "What a wonderful sound."
"Maybe to a Saint Bernard with a horn on his forehead," Tai sighed, having somehow been able to hear Gabumon's comment, not liking the harmonica at all for whatever reason.
Matt continued to play as the full moon shined brightly over the night sky.
Underwater, the rest of Seadramon's body could be seen as a blue sea serpent with a yellow upper head, a bluish white underbelly, several flippers on either side of his body, and red strips. He was still sleeping or trying to upon feeling Tai walk on his tail. As he tried to sleep, he heard the sound of Matt's harmonica being played and enjoyed the sound. Just then a large fish-like Digimon swam up to him, startling him.
"Relax, Seadramon," said the Digimon. "It's me, Coelamon."
"Coelamon," said Seadramon. "You know I don't like being disturbed. Where do you sneak up on me like that?"
"I guess you can call it a mean streak," said Coelamon.
"Whatever," Seadramon sighed. "Do you hear that music?"
"Yeah, I do," said Coelamon. "Whoever is making that sound is good."
"Yeah," Seadramon agreed.
On the dome, Tai poked at the fire with a stick when a hot piece of burning charcoal popped out.
"Watch out for the fire sparks," Tai gasped.
Unfortunately, that charcoal piece landed on top of Seadramon's tail, causing him to stir once again.
"Ah," Seadramon screamed in pain upon feeling the hot charcoal on his tail.
"I told you not to put you tail on land where it's vulnerable," Coelamon told him.
"Ah, shut up," Seadramon yelled. "Whoever did that is going to pay…!"
Seadramon then arose from the water, not looking happy at all, and roared at Tai and Agumon. The roar awoke everyone on the trolley, including Naruto and Hinata.
"What's going on," Naruto asked before seeing Seadramon outside the trolley. "Uh oh…!"
"Why is Seadramon so angry," Dorumon asked.
"I'll check," Hinata used her Byakugan and saw the burn mark on Seadramon's tail as well as the camp fire next to Tai and Agumon. "There's a fresh burn mark on Seadramon's tail and a camp fire close to where Tai and Agumon are."
"A piece of burning charcoal must have landed on his tail," Lunamon deducted.
"Dam it," Naruto grunted. "I told them to be careful and not provoke him!"
"You can punish him later," Hinata pointed out. "Right now, we have to stop him before he kills everyone."
Next thing everyone knew, Seadramon started pulling on the dome, breaking the land bridge in the process. He then started tugging the dome and took it and everyone on it for a ride, leaving Matt and Gabumon behind.
"The land's moving," Matt gasped.
"They must have disturbed Seadramon," Gabumon reasoned.
"I know camping here was stupid," Matt growled.
"Hold on," said Agumon to the others on the now dome island. "We're going for a ride!"
"It's like we're on a monster long board," Tai commented.
"He's pulling us along by his tail," said Izzy, impressed by Seadramon's strength. "I don't even think he realizes we're here."
"I'm not so sure," said Naruto, emerging from the trolley. "Someone put a flaming piece of charcoal on his tail, that's why he's acting like this!"
Tai then realized something. Looking around, he spotted the flaming charcoal piece that popped out of the fire earlier on Seadramon's tail. "Uh oh… I think I might have provoked him."
Seadramon then freed his tail and plunged it into the water, cooling it down. "Now then, time to make you fools pay…!"
"Wait a minute, Seadramon," Tai protested. "We didn't mean it…!"
"Spare me your lies," Seadramon slammed his tail against the floating land mass, causing it to tilt.
He then dove down into the water.
"He's coming back, and he's not happy," Tai shouted.
Seadramon then tackled the landmass, and began pushing it back to the shore of the lake.
"We're gonna crash into the shore," Joe cried.
"This is really gonna mess up my hair," Mimi cried.
On the shore, Matt dove into the water and began to swim, Gabumon following close behind. "T.K.…!"
"Matt, I'm just letting you know, my fur's gonna get wet and I'm gonna stink," said Gabumon as he followed Matt into the water.
Out in the water, Seadramon pushed the land mass into some of the transmission towers in the middle of the lake, unlike what Joe though he was going to do.
"Oh great, he left us right in the middle of the lake," Tai sighed.
"I don't suppose we can trick him into taking us back," Izzy proposed.
"Actually we can if we play our cards right," Naruto mentioned, pulling out a rope from his bag.
Just then, Seadramon emerged.
"Get ready, he's attacking," Tai yelled.
"Come on you guys," said Agumon. "Let's send him back to the fishes!"
Agumon, Biyomon, Patamon, Palmon, and Tentomon then each unleashed their trade mark attacks, Pepper Breath, Spiral Twister, Boom Bubble, Poison Ivy, and Super Shocker, respectively at Seadramon. Unfortunately, they either didn't reach him or had no effect on him.
"Nice try," Seadramon then prepared to attack.
"Agumon, Digivolve," Tai told his partner.
"I've been trying to, but I can't seem to do it this time, Tai," Agumon told him.
"But you have to," Tai begged.
"I guess my body hasn't fully recovered from the last fight," Agumon deduced.
"But if you can't help us, how are we going to stop Seadramon," Tai questioned.
"FIRE STYLE: FLAME BOMBS…!"
"EIGHT TRIGRAMS: AIR PALM…!"
Seadramon was suddenly hit by Naruto and Hinata's techniques, getting everyone's attention.
"METAL CANNON…!"
"TEARING SHOT…!"
Dorumon and Lunamon then followed with their signature attacks, the Tearing Shot and Metal Cannon respectively.
"What the," Seadramon gasped before spotting Naruto and Hinata. "You again…?"
"Want another round," Naruto taunted.
The Digidestined then noticed Hinata's activated Byakugan and were a bit freaked out.
"What the," Tai gasped.
"What's up with Hinata's eyes," Izzy questioned.
But while everyone's attention was on Hinata's eyes, Matt called out, "T.K.! Over here…!"
"Matt," T.K., forgetting all about Hinata's eyes, ran up to where Matt was approaching, Gomamon following in sue. "Matt be careful, or the monster will get you!"
Seadramon then moved the landmass a bit, causing T.K. to fall into the water. To make matters worse, the poor boy didn't know how to swim yet. Fortunately, Gomamon jumped in after him and saved him from drowning. Unfortunately, Seadramon was still mad and was preparing for another attack. Seeing this, Matt told Gomamon to get T.K. back to shore while he drove Seadramon away.
"Hey, over here you overgrown water lizard," Matt taunted as he swam away from the area.
"Did you just call me a water lizard," Seadramon hissed, feeling insulted from the comment. "I'm a sea serpent you twerp…!"
"Yeah, whatever," Matt taunted again. "I've heard that your mother was an earth worm…!"
"Say what," Seadramon was no enraged. "That's it, human, you're dead…!"
"I don't think so," Gabumon prepared his trademark attack.
"BLUE BLASTER…!"
Gabumon struck Seadramon with his Blue Blaster, but that only got him even more pissed off.
"Stay out of this you fool," Seadramon wacked Gabumon with his tail, sending him flying.
"I hate this," Gabumon screamed.
Next thing Matt knew, Seadramon dragged him underwater by Seadramon's tail.
While underwater, Matt was wrapped up by Seadramon until he was bound like Tai was by Shellmon's tentacle hair. Moments later, he brought Matt back up to the surface where everyone could watch him constrict the boy like a snake constricting a mouse.
"This is not good," said Tentomon. "Seadramon may be a bubble-brain, but once he finds his prey, he won't let go."
"Matt, hang on," T.K. called out. "Patamon please help him. Hit him with a Bubble Boom."
"I can't," Patamon told his partner. "Seadramon's way to big and I just don't have enough power."
"Don't just stand there," Sora said to Naruto and Hinata, who just stood there. "Help him…!"
At first, Naruto and Hinata just stood there like statues watching on, but then Hinata walked up and shouted, "Matt, use your Digivice…!"
Once again everyone was confused.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Matt cried in pain.
Next thing everyone knew, the device on Matt's belt began to glow and Gabumon began to Digivolve.
"Gabumon Digivolve to… Garurumon," Gabumon had Digivolved into what appeared to be a massive wolf. He now had fur all over his body, but also had several blade structures jutting out of his body, three on each of his shoulders, three on either side of his hips, and mane maid of them. He also stood up to 4 meters (13 feet) tall at the shoulders and was about 7.5 meters (24.7 feet) long from head to hips. He was now Garurumon.
Soon after Digivolving, Garurumon jumped and struck Seadramon's tail, causing him to let go of Matt. As Matt fell back into the water, Garurumon landed on Seadramon and bit him.
"Get off," Seadramon wacked Garurumon of with his tail.
When Garurumon hit the water, he began sinking to the bottom while Matt swam for the land mass everyone else was on.
"Are you alright Matt," T.K. asked.
"Yeah, but where's Gabumon," Matt asked.
"Come out, come out, wherever you are," Seadramon taunted.
Garurumon then surfaced and Seadramon charged at him. However, Garurumon struck Seadramon's face with his tail, forcing him to stop. Garurumon then made a U-turn and swam at Seadramon's tail as he tried to swat him like before. Unfortunately, the attack was deflected and Garurumon continued his attack.
"Is that Gabumon," Matt gasped.
Hinata checked her D-Power. "Actually, that's Garurumon. Champion level, special attack is the Howling Baster. His fur is said to be as hard as the legendary metal, Mithril, making it like armor."
"Mithril, you mean like from the Lord of the Rings book series," Izzy gasped. "That's astonishing…! With fur like that, he must be invincible…!"
"Don't be so sure," Naruto told him, sensing another presence in the water.
Suddenly as Garurumon came in for another charge, Coelamon came out of the water and attacked Garurumon, knocking him off course. This caught everyone's attention, especially Matt's.
"Hey, that's not fair," Matt shouted. "Who is that Digimon?"
"Uh-oh, that's Coelamon," Agumon gasped.
"Coelamon," Tai asked.
Naruto checked his D-Power. "Coelamon, ancient fish Digimon, champion level. His special attack is the Variable Darts."
"VARIABLE DARTS…!"
As if right on que, Coelamon used his special attack, throwing blades or knives of energy at Garurumon. Seadramon then took his shot at Garurumon.
"ICE BLAST…!"
Seadramon discharged a breath of absolute zero-temperature water, freezing Garurumon solid upon contact.
"Oh no, Garurumon," T.K. cried out.
"I've seen enough," said Naruto as he turned to Dorumon. "Dorumon, we have to intervene."
"Right," Dorumon nodded.
"Wait a minute Naruto," Hinata stopped them. "Let me handle it this time."
Naruto simply smiled and nodded at Hinata.
"Let's go, Lunamon," Hinata called her partner.
"I'm on it," Lunamon jumped onto Hinata's back and held on as Hinata ran right towards the water.
At first, the Digidestined were expecting Hinata to jump into the water like Matt and Gabumon did earlier. But to their surprise, Hinata actually started running on top of the water even when it got deep, something that caught them totally off guard.
"Prodigious," Izzy gasped. "Is she running on water!?"
"It's nothing special," Naruto told them. "I can do that too."
Hinata ran as fast as she could towards the two attacking Digimon.
"EIGHT TRIGRAMS: AIR WALL PALMS…!"
Hinata used a doubled version of her Eight Trigrams: Air Palm attack, striking both Digimon at the same time. Seadramon and Coelamon both turned their attention to Hinata, who glared at them.
"How does Hinata even do that," Sora asked Naruto.
"Hinata's eyes are a special kind from my world," Naruto explained. "They're known as the Byakugan. They allow her to see through just about anything and for long distances at an almost 360 degree angle. Every member of her clan has the Byakugan and their techniques complement them, allowing them to do some internal damage to their opponents."
"Prodigious," Izzy gasped.
"Guess that explains how she's able to see inside everyone's bodies without needing any x-ray scans," Joe acknowledged.
"Two against one isn't fair," Hinata told Seadramon and Coelamon. "Why don't you pick on someone your own size…!?"
"Like you," Coelamon questioned with glee.
"Come and get me," Hinata taunted before running in the opposite direction.
"Let me handle that human chick," Coelamon told Seadramon as he started chasing Hinata.
Hinata ran fast across the lake, Coelamon hot on her trail and Lunamon holding onto her back.
"Hinata, he's catching up to us," Lunamon pointed out upon seeing Coelamon swimming up to them.
"Let him," Hinata told her partner. "He's falling right into our trap."
Hinata and Lunamon led Coelamon right towards the transmission towers. Coelamon got close to Hinata and as soon as he did, he jumped out of the water and prepared to bite her, aiming for her backside. However, Hinata jumped at the last minute, causing Coelamon to crash right into one of the towers. Fortunately, he didn't get stuck or electrocuted, unfortunately, Hinata landed on one of the towers, the moon silhouetted against her.
"I've got you now girlies," Coelamon told them.
"I think we've got you," Hinata told him. "Let's go Lunamon…!"
"Right," Lunamon jumped off Hinata's back and into the air.
Hinata then took out her D-Power and swiped a green card through it.
"DIGIMODIFY…! DIGIVOLUTION ACTIVATE…!"
"DIGIVOLUTION…!"
Lunamon began to Digivolve.
"Lunamon Digivolve to… Lekismon," Lunamon had Digivolved into Lekismon and landed on one of the other transmission towers to fight Coelamon.
"Ready to go another round, Coelamon," Lekismon taunted while standing atop the tower she stood upon.
"It won't be like last time," Coelamon glared.
Meanwhile, Garurumon broke free from his icy prison and continued his battle with Seadramon.
"HOWLING BLASTER…!"
"ICE BLAST…!"
Garurumon fired blue high-temperature flames from his mouth at Seadramon. But Seadramon was quick to respond, firing his Ice Blast attack right at Garurumon's Howling Blaster. Do to their attacks being complete opposites of each other, they canceled each other out (muck like what happened with Gaolgamon and Geogreymon's attacks in Data Squad), creating a beam struggle. It took a little more power, but Garurumon's Howling Blaster eventually overwhelmed Seadramon's Ice Blast, knocking the sea serpent Digimon out.
At the towers, Lekismon was holding her own against Coelamon.
"TEAR ARROW…!"
"VARIABLE DARTS…!"
Lekismon and Coelamon fired their Tear Arrow and Variable Darts attacks at each other at the same time. The two attacks collided, deflecting one another. But just as Coelamon prepared for another attack, Lekismon beat him right to the punch.
"MOON NIGHT BOMB…!"
Lekismon threw a hypnotic water bubbled from her gloves at Coelamon. Before Coelamon could react, the attack hit him, putting him to sleep in the process, but Lekismon wasn't done yet.
"MOON NIGHT KICK…!"
Lekismon used her Moon Night Kick on Coelamon, knocking him back into the water.
With the two aquatic Digimon knocked out, Garurumon and Lekismon Dedigivolved back into Gabumon and Lunamon. Hinata then jumped of the tower she was on and picked up the two rookie level Digimon before returning to the others. Upon reaching the landmass, everyone praised Gabumon for his heroic acts against Seadramon, especially Matt and T.K. But Matt wasn't too happy with Hinata for not stepping in until the last minute, something he also criticized Naruto for during the battle at the beach.
"That's the second time you guys didn't help us until the last minute," Matt criticized. "I could have ended up being seafood!"
However, Hinata was quick to respond to this, "So you'd rather run your mouth at Naruto and me instead of praising your partner for his accomplishment?"
Matt was about to say something else, but hearing Hinata's words, he realized that she and Lunamon only intervened because it was absolutely necessary, just like Naruto and Dorumon did for Tai and Agumon. While still not pleased by these actions, Matt decided to let it go and continued to praise Gabumon for his accomplishment while Gumamon used his Marching Fishes to push the landmass back to its original position.
On Infinity Mountain, Sasuke and Sakura were lying down together in the same bed, seemingly both unclothed and trying to get some sleep. While both were relaxed, both were finding it difficult to sleep.
"Sasuke," said Sakura.
"What is it," Sasuke asked.
"How long do we have to keep doing this," Sakura asked.
"Just long enough Sakura," Sasuke answered. "Tomorrow, we're going to make our presence fully known to Naruto and Hinata."
"How do we let them know," Sakura asked.
"I have a plan," Sasuke then used his Rinnegan on Sakura, its design quickly reflecting in her eyes, Tomoe and all.
Back at the lake, the group continued to take turns keeping watch. As they intended, Matt took over for Tai once his shift was over, then Izzy took over for Matt, then Joe, then Sora, then Mimi, and finally Hinata. And throughout that entire time, they didn't have any other problems.
The next morning on Server, Etemon was traveling across the desert, looking for another place to preform, having left the Burgermon village early that morning.
"I'll say this, that Burgermon village was a waste of time," said Etemon. "They had so little money, it was hardly worth stealing."
"Well not to worry Etemon," said Demidevimon. "I just spotted a Koromon village just a few miles ahead."
"A Koromon village, you say," Etemon asked.
"Yep," Demidevimon answered.
"Well, then step on it and make a call to the Pagumon," Etemon smiled. "Tell them that I've got a little mission for them."
Meanwhile on File Island, the group woke up to a bright sunny day and everyone was well rested from the battle last night. While they were still a bit shaken up by the attack from Seadramon and Coelamon, they were grateful that Gabumon was able to Digivolve to Garurumon.
"I'm glad that's over," Sora sighed.
"Yeah, but there seems to be a pattern here," said Izzy. "Last time, only Agumon could Digivolve and this time it was Gabumon."
Sora then realized what Izzy told them. "That's right Agumon was the only one who could do it before."
Thinking on what Izzy and Sora mentioned, Tai thought back to the battle with Shellmon and Ebidramon and realized something. "You're right it's all beginning to make sense. Agumon Digivolved when I was in danger and Gabumon Digivolved when Matt was in danger."
"That has to be the answer," Izzy deduced. "Our Digimon Digivolve when we're in trouble."
"Wow, that must be it," Sora said at first, but then she realized something else. "Wait a minute, if that's true, then how were Dorumon and Lunamon able to Digivolve? Naruto and Hinata weren't in any danger. They seemed to have everything under control and yet their partners still Digivolved."
"Yeah, that's a good point," Izzy agreed, but then he remembered something. "Hey wait a minute, during both battles, Naruto and Hinata told Tai and Matt respectively to use their Digivices, whatever those are."
"Do you think it's those gadgets that we received just before we entered the Digital World," Tai asked, taking his Digivice into his hands, Sora and Izzy doing the same.
"Could be," Izzy took a close look at his Digivice. "I'll have to take a closer look at them before we jump to conclusions."
Naruto and Hinata were watching from nearby.
"Looks like they're beginning to figure things out," said Naruto.
"Do you think they'll all figure out how important their Digivices are," Hinata asked.
"I guess we'll have to wait and see," Naruto admitted.
While Naruto and Hinata watched Tai, Sora, and Izzy, Mimi got a look at Naruto standing with Hinata and was still confused. First she saw Naruto going to sleep with Hinata last night, now she saw the two standing rather close to each other.
Palmon noticed this as well.
Meanwhile, Dorumon and Lunamon were sitting next to one another, noticing that their partners were really starting to bond with one another.
"Do you really think those two are destined for each other," Dorumon asked.
"I'm sure they are," Lunamon replied. "Hinata couldn't help but keep talking about Naruto and how she'll never stop trying to win him over."
"Come to think of it, Naruto did mention he has been feeling strange whenever he's near Hinata," Dorumon acknowledged. "It's possible that he feels the same way for her."
"I agree," Lunamon smiled.
Dorumon then blushed upon seeing Lunamon's smile, and looked away.
"What is it Dorumon," Lunamon asked.
"Nothing, Lunamon," Dorumon answered.
Not far away, Matt was sitting with T.K., Gabumon, and Patamon, playing his harmonica. Patamon and Gabumon were sound asleep, but T.K. was awake and he enjoyed the music. Tai walked up to the four and watched from behind a tree.
"Big bro, you're the best," T.K. commented.
Matt continued to play his harmonica.
Tai smiled upon seeing Matt and T.K.'s relationship growing stronger. It reminded him of his own relationship with his sister, Kari. This sadly made him wonder if she was worried about him by now.
In the Real World, Davis had just asked his question. "Hi Mr. and Mrs. Kamiya, is Kari here?"
"Well, hello Davis," said Yuuko. "I'm afraid Kari can't come to play right now. She's sick and has to stay home."
"Oh dear," said Davis. "Maybe I can look after her. You guys look like you're going somewhere anyway."
"You would do that," Susumu asked, feeling a bit skeptical.
"Sure," said Davis. "Kari and I are friends and I'll do anything to make sure she gets better."
Susumu and Yuuko both looked at each other for a moment, then they both looked back at Davis and nodded. Davis then entered the apartment and went to Kari's room.
"Hello," Kari asked.
"Hey Kari," said Davis.
And that was chapter 9. As you can see, I had Etemon be introduced at Myotismon's Castle while Piedmon offered the vampire-like Digimon a possition as a member of the Dark Masters. On top of that, Demidevimon was sent by Myotismon to keep an eye on the Rock and Roll loving Digimon. Maybe Demidevimon working for Etemon was only in the English Dub, but that's the only version I saw, so if it was different in the original version, feel free to point it out.
Also as you saw, Seadramon's partner was a Coelamon, who was always intented to be his partner for this. Now I'll admit, having two marine dues attack the group in a row was a bit redundent and I'm sure some of you were hoping to see a different Digimon help Seadramon. But then again, the original anime had this problem as well by having the group battle two marine Digimon in a row, so in a way, this fanfiction was just staying true to its source material. I promise you though, the battles with Meramon, Andromon, Manzemon, and Unimon will be a lot more vairried and a lot more creative.
The next chapter will be Biyomon's turn to Digivolve. But this time, Naruto and Hinata won't be helping out, and you'll see why.
