Luckee and Naja managed to round up the Skeksis before they got any closer to Tealin. So far, the Sluggan didn't bother to break free from his bonds. Part of it was because Storm had his enormous muzzle poked through the window. Luckee got the milk ready for all her babies. River was eager and became the first to eat. Star was next since he was still recovering from his illness. Kai was less fussy on her father's lap than he was with Craven. Isaaic seems to have bonded with Naja while Luckee was away since he cuddled in the Podling's lap as he enjoyed his Nebrie milk. Melo focused on Tealin as Craven fed him.
When they were done, Luckee took a moment to have some food. The soft bread gave a sense of relief after her interesting morning. She got up and placed Star down for a nap. Then, gathered a plate of Nebrie cheese and Peach Berries. Luckee stopped over a few feet to where Tealin is. She set the plate down and backed away slowly. Luckee waited a moment. Then...nothing. Not even a plate rattle.
Tealin gave an annoyed look. "It doesn't work like that my dear." He instantly cursed himself for speaking. "Ugh! Why do I have the urge to talk to you?!"
Luckee kneeled down. "Maybe because of what you've been through. It seems to me that no one treats you nicely there." She tilted her head. "If you don't want to talk about your magic, then...can you tell me about your home?"
Tealin looked at her. He knew he can't return without the children, but as long as that Sky Baelk is there, he can't use magic either. Might as well as humor her, he thought. His body sparked with pain as he moved. "Ow...Ok. I'll tell you, but on one condition."
"What's that?"
"Keep your Kai away from me. He likes to grab my eyestalks." He flinched as Kai was moved up to him.
Luckee quickly snatched the little Skeksis. "That will take a while. Let me set up a playpen and some toys that might help." She got up from her spot and walked over to the rest of the Skeksis. Luckee set Kai down and went over to the box of toys that laid in the corner. She pulled it out and opened it. There were a good amount of toys that should keep them occupied long enough to talk to Tealin. As she pulled them out, her mind went back to the times she and her siblings used to play. Luckee was surprisingly gentle with her toys. The only time she had trouble with them was when they got lost. Suddenly, her mind was brought back by a small tug by Star. Melo wasn't too far behind.
The young gelfling turned around. "Oh. I've bet you've never seen a toy before." She blushed at those words. "That is-Well-I-" She shook herself. "Never mind." Luckee took a moment to pull out two toys from the chest. Her left held a drum and the other hand was a stuffed Fizzgig. "These were toys that my parents thought to keep if we had children of our own someday. I like to look at these whenever I feel sad." She handed Melo a drum and the Fizzgig to Star. "Here."
Star stared at his toy. Then, he poked it. He leaned away. Expecting the creature to growl at him. His head tilted to one side. Then, ran his whole hand over the toy. He giggled as he rubbed it. The blue skeksis snuggled into the soft fur. His little claws curled. A purr of happiness erupted out of his throat.
Melo wasn't sure what to do with his drum. He turned it around a few times. Then, fiddled with the strings. Luckee knelt down to his level to give a soft pat on the drum. Melo jumped back in surprise at the hollow sound. His hands tucked on his chest. When Luckee patted it again, the purple skeksis smacked the surface. He cooed. His hands began to play the drum at random. He was so into his tunes, he didn't realize that everyone gathered around him.
Luckeed smiled. She went back into the toy box to find a few more toys that her children would enjoy. Memories filled her mind as she dug further times were she and her siblings would play so many games. She began to pull out three more toys that she found. A Podling doll for Isaac, a rattle for River and a rolling Landstrider for Kai. Her smile beamed as they all began playing with their toys.
"My...My...We have a pretty smile don't we?"
Luckee nearly jumped out of her skin at that voice. She whipped her head to see Blativir now awake. Her heart nearly jumped at the sight of him. His head bandaged. His eyes glinted a light of curiosity and amusement. A smile curved up in his face. Luckee stared at him confused. Why isn't he mad at me? She thought. I knocked him with a metal rod and almost killed him. "Um...Hello...How are you feeling?"
"My head hurts but I've been through worse." Blativir said. He grinned. "Do you have anything delicious?"
Tealin lifted up and stared up at him in shock. "What are you doing, Blativir?! Get us out of here! Queen Maroon will kill us!"
"No." Blativir stated.
"What?!" Both Tealin and Luckee shouted. They couldn't believe what they're hearing.
Blativir simply crossed his legs. Or tried to since his feet are bound. "My men will come for me soon enough once they have done their mission at The Crystal Desert. In the meantime, I think I'll see what Thra is like. As well as understanding what Gelfling are." His gaze never left Luckee. "You seem to make your race most intriguing. Miss Luckee." He then looked at Tealin. "What do you say to that my dear fellow? After all, you can't go back without those babies right?"
Tealin was silent for a moment before a reluctant sigh escaped his mandibles. "Fine. You're lucky-excuse me-Fortunate that this will be the only time I don't have to deal with yelling." He soon found his plate closer to him now. He looked up into Luckee's eyes. Strangely enough, his heart started to settle the first time since he came to this bizarre world.
Jen and Kira looked at their daughter with concern. After their encounter with SkekSil, they knew that they couldn't trust them easily. Holding the Skeksis for the first time while Luckee was away made them tense. Now, they had to put their trust in two strangers from another world that could harm their child and the rest of Thra. The couple walked over to Luckee. Craven and Nadi joined them. Jen put a comforting hand on their daughter. Kira focused her dark eyes on Tealin.
Luckee took in a deep breath. Her mind began to think of what she knows so far. Not much about them. She can't trust them. However, Storm seems to keep them in line. It can be her only advantage to finding out what Queen Maroon is after. She looked at them. Her mouth formed in a firm line. "I would like to make a deal with you in return," Luckee said. "I need you to promise me that if we believe that you won't hurt us once you're untied. Also, don't come anywhere near the children. They have been through enough since they had first appeared in Thra."
There was silence for a moment. The two strangers looked at each other. Whatever silent words were exchanged, they seem to be one of agreement. They both bowed to her. "As you command, Lady Luckee." Blativir answered. He chuckled as Luckee's face turned a bright shade of red. She's going to be fun, he thought. Then, got smacked on the head by Tealin.
