Semi Perfection
Note, this will be the first 3000 word Chapter that I make, so sorry if it took a little longer to make.
Spyro was training hard in the training room, he was attempting to reach the Perfected Dark Form. Malefor was overlooking his training, frowning at the emotional triggers that were necessary for him to attain the state. He needed a way to have Spyro get better, faster. It clicked.
"Spyro?"
Spyro stopped for a minute, "Yes?"
"I am going to try something that will help us." he said as he started to draw a blue circle around the arena, and a blue barrier surrounded the arena, while Spyro felt nothing.
"What did you do?"
"I simply made this specific area enclosed in Dragon time, and it is basically sped up time. I made it so that one hour out there, is a total of 1 day in here, increasing time by about 24 times. A small trick I had picked up from using Dragon Time. I have increased the gravity in this room by approximately 2 times, which should be kicking in, now." he said as Spyro was pushed down, as if he was carrying the weight of another him on himself.
"This is insane. How do you do this?"
"Simple. Utilizing earth, I made the rock underneath here much denser, and with that being more gravity. Simple."
"Huh." Spyro groaned as he struggled to move.
"You are going to train for 2 days in here, so that we can try to utilize that Perfected form. However, I wish I could talk to those two other dragons about your abilities, to see if there is a way to get to them, without using the Perfected form."
"Okay, that's going to be a challenge."
"Let's start."
2 hours/days later.
Spyro was sparring with Malefor in his Wrathful Mode, using it's power for precision strikes. Malefor was struggling to resist the power of it.
"Stop!" called out Malefor.
Spyro kept his Wrathful mode on, to see if this was a trick to take advantage of him to start sparring.
"You are amazing. In a few days, you have grown massively. I wanted to try something. Something that may allow us to speak with those two dragons."
"What?"
"I had noticed that your darkness seemed to be splitting itself. Try to focus your darkness outside of yourself. Maybe it could work, but first, try to power up to your maximum.".
Spyro focused and felt his darkness focus on his strength, it wrapping around it, making it stronger. Spyro then raised his head, and out of his horns, two tornadoes of darkness spun around forming Archion and Choryrth.
"Huh? Say what now?" Choryrth said, obviously oblivious of the fact that he had just been summoned.
"I told you. I knew that Hatas was untrustworthy! Just look at his double Siroh! He literally incinerated an entire city, and he lamented that he got dust on his armor from the debris!" responded Archion
"Even so, I thought he had changed when he saved us from the double of Quetzalcoatl.".
"But even so, I..." Archion stopped as he realized the change in scenery, "Umm, hi Spyro."
"Hi, what were you two talking about?"
"Well, we were talking about the betrayal of Hatas, the dark double and dark counterpart to your Cynder in this world, with the other being Siroh. Since everything is a copy of this world, we have our own war going on." explained Choryrth
"What is even more fascinating is the fact that you were able to summon us Spyro." exclaimed Archion, "You don't seem to be as powerful as you were when facing Kratom. You seemed to have entered a form that is able to summon us, but without the chaotic power that the Perfected form grants you. We are little more than extra weight in this state, so we are only able to speak, we would hardly turn the tables in a fight, so you should still try perfecting the Dark Form.".
"Well, it was hard. I know I can do this whenever, but it still drains an immense amount of stamina from me." responded Spyro.
"Very true. Your mana is very exhausted at the moment. While the darkness heals you when you use it, it does have a limit to how much it can heal. Say you had a bleeding cut, not lethal, but still enough to hurt, the Darkness basically would drain the stamina necessary to heal it, but with a much larger wound, like a punctured lung, it would take a massive amount of Stamina to heal. The darkness can heal injuries, yes, but using it too recklessly could go over what we call, the Mana Overall Storage Capacity, or MOSC, for short. If too many wounds of a massive wound happens, the darkness takes so much energy from the user, the user will die, because they don't have enough mana to keep up." Choryrth explained.
"Wait, you said Malefor trained to hold the Dark Master's power? I thought he was corrupted unintentionally."
"Well, in a sense, yes. Quetzalcoatl had possessed the body of Malefor, without fully giving him his powers, in which he would train to use said powers.".
"Very true." came a voice from the back. They all jumped. They had completely forgotten Malefor was there.
"Ah, Malefor. I our world, your doubles are known as Krill and Gowan."
"Interesting, but how do we know that we can trust you?"
"Simple, we are the counterparts of Spyro, and notice we are not taking over his body, which we could definitely do if we wanted." responded Archion.
"Well, I need your help with something." cut in Spyro.
"What?"
"I need to know just how to achieve the Dark Perfection.".
"Well, I forgot to mention. This is where stuff becomes complicated. The only true way to achieve the form is to come to our realm, which is 100 times more dangerous, and to absorb a dark dragon's life force. The only reason you were able to enter it now, was because when we became a part of you, we kind of put our life force into you, which you used to enter Dark Perfection."
"What!? There is no way I am killing a dragon in order to become stronger."
"Would you rather have everyone that you know and love die?" Archion spat back.
"No..."
"Than this is the only way to prevent that. Okay?"
"I..I will go along with the plan, even though I don't agree with it."
"No, Spyro, there has to be another way!" shouted Malefor.
"Malefor, there is only one way, I know it.".
Archion nodded and projected an image in the air, displaying a sort of voidic structure, that seemed to be radiating portal energy.
"The Dimensional Rifter, a mystical crystal that allows the wielder of which to travel between realities, so long as they touch it. It is physically impossible to destroy. There is only two per reality. All the Rifters are identical, even though some require certain quotas to be met, such as having a certain level of power. The two in this reality are either, A. with the Chronicler, or B. in the middle of the Ancestral Vaults. So either we try to get something from the person who knows of our presence immediately, or we risk pissing off the most powerful beings in existence.".
"Just how powerful are we talking?"
"You know how I said that you were a 2 and Wrath was a 10? Well an Ancestor, is about 10,000."
"Holy crap."
"Yep. No mortal in living history has ever defeated an Ancestor, from any reality." confirmed Archion
"Except for you know who." Choryrth whispered to Archion.
"Shut up about him. He's dead."
"Anyway," continued Choryrth, "We need to find the Rifter in the Chronicler Isle. I've heard you and him are on good terms. Hopefully we can ask him to borrow the Rifter."
"Got it. How soon should we leave?"
I'd say in about one day's time. The Rifter can sometimes become unstable and send it's user to a different Reality. The Interdimensional moons are aligning, and that gives us about a week timeframe to get in, and get out."
"And what happens if we go over that time?"
"You would either, A) get corrupted from the negative energy, B) the Rifter returning to it's original dimension, or C) nothing bad happening."
"Here's to hoping it's option C." said Spyro.
"Yes indeed." Archion said as he and Choryrth disappeared.
Cynder was pacing back and forth in the hallway, thinking about what Cyril had told her. She was abruptly shaken from her thoughts when Flame walked by her with a look of venom.
"What is it?"
"You don't know? I think you would, Terror of the Skies." Cynder hissed to hear her title, but stood down.
"What did I do?"
"Oh, is that so? You forget."
"What did I do? And whatever it is, can you please forget about it? I'm different now."
Flame snarled and turned around to face Cynder. "Listen demon, I don't care about your supposed change. And about your comment about wanting to forget it, I would say that you killing my mother and father, and because of that being isolated from other dragons to be raised as a weapon and Guardian because of my abilities, you would not easily forget it. The only reason that I don't kill you where you stand is because Spyro sticks up for you for Ancestors know why, but you are soon going to lose him, and when you do, your sins will come back to bite you, and don't expect any help from me."
With that declaration, Flame turned, and walked down the hall, accidentally running into Ember.
"Oh, sorry, uh, Ember." Flame said getting a little flustered.
"Fine. I best get a move on." Ember said in her sweetly obnoxious voice reserved especially from talking to Cynder.
Malefor turned the arena room to it's original state after a couple more minutes of training. Spyro noticed his abilities had increased in strength drastically because of his training in 2x gravity. Malefor had Spyro take a couple of gems to regain his stamina from summoning Archion and Choryrth. Spyro had to plot a course to the Chronicler's Island, which was hard. But first, he had to speak with the guardians on this matter, because he couldn't simply leave the city unprotected.
"Spyro, I heard you have info on these new threats." stared Terrador, looking down with a look of deep thought plastered on his stoic face.
"Well, I didn't exactly find out by myself, I had a couple of informants, you could say." Responded Spyro, hoping to conceal the two other dragons within him, yet still telling the truth, because he knew that if Volteer even got a whiff of the possibilities of Alternate Realities, he would be making over a dozen theories in the next hour, and that was a low estimate.
"Well, I want to see these informants. We need any extra information we can get."
Spyro sighed, and entered his Semi Perfection, and Archion and Choryrth materialized beside him.
As soon as they had appeared, Volteer, Terrador, and Cyril jumped back.
"Spyro." said Terrador, the tension and battle in his voice obvious. "Move away from those dragons, now."
"What? What's wrong with them?"
"Those are the dragons of the Dark Reality. They once lived here, but were banished by the ancestors many decades ago. They almost destroyed the universe, but thankfully, the Ancestors had them sent away before they could do more damage."
"Yeah, so riddle me this." Archion said in a bored tone, "If we truly did have evil intentions, why are we not ripping you to shreds at the moment?"
"Because you are using Spyro as a bridge between your realities, and the second you attack us, he could kill you.".
"Funny, but no. We are something of an oddity in our reality, being actually good willed and not completely evil like the rest of us. We are currently leading a resistance to change the ways of our kind, in order to make things right."
Volteer retreated from his defensive stance. "So, I have a quick question for you two."
"Sure, fire away." responded Choryrth
"If there is another reality, are there multiple realities, each with a different version of us?"
"Hypothetically, yes. There are more realities than I could count. Personally, I've never been to another dimension other than mine and this one. The way you travel between realities is a bit complicated. First, I want you to imagine every type of energy in the world, whether light or dark as simply Life Energy. There are three types of energy in the multiverse of realities. Whether different variations of it exist, they all stem from the same three energies. There is Life Energy, which dragons are especially proficient at using. Next up is Divine Energy. This is the type of energy that the Ancestors use. Divine energy is basically very compressed Life Energy, which is exclusive to the gods. No mortal can use it, and that is a fact. The last Energy is Voidic Energy, which is used to travel in between realities. It is the main source of Convexity's power, or Aether. Convexity is the space in between space. If somebody could travel freely through convexity, without getting killed by it's increasingly harsh conditions the farther you go, you would get to the deepest part of Convexity. Known only as the Void, this place is basically the place where doors to all the realities appear. Ours is coincidentally right next to ours, which is why we were able to travel to your reality."
"So in a sense, Voidic energy allows people to travel between realities, but what can use it?"
"Ancestors, mostly. There have been a few mortals who have been able to use it, but at the moment, the only way to go through realities is A) To ask the Ancestors, or B) to get what is called a Dimensional Rifter."
"You mentioned that to me in the Time Compression Chamber, which, note to self, I have got to find a better name for, and the Dimensional Rifter is in the Chroniclers Island" said Spyro, thinking profusely.
"Correct, the Chronicler's Island will be very hard to find, but convincing the Chronicler to allow usage of it is going to be a completely other thing." Archion pointed out.
"Why? Does he have a sort of antagonism toward those who wish to use it?"
"Yes, one of our ancestors used it, and almost destroyed the Gateways to Universes."
"What happened to him?"
"Nothing you need to know. Long story short, it basically became illegal to travel realities, even though it wasn't. The Chronicler is not normally friendly, so we best hope to the Ancestors that it allows us to do so."
"So, do we have permission to travel to the Chronicler's Isle?" asked Spyro, becoming uncharacteristically impatient, slamming his paw down.
Well, we do give permission, but I do request that either Malefor or Cynder accompany you to the island to make sure Archion and Choryrth are kept in check. The other will stay in order to defend us if anything goes wrong, because after last attack, we must be in a state of heavy caution. It would be very unwise to leave the city without at least one of it's greatest heroes after last attack. Who was that?" said Terrador sternly.
"That was Kratom. He is who you know as wrath. He is the most powerful of the bunch, because he feeds off of malicious thoughts and rage in order to grow stronger, but the only downside is that his power can only rise so fast. The secret to defeating him is to be more powerful than he will ever be, or to beat him quickly. The rest are moreover manipulative, yet still a credible threat in the face of battle. The only reason the Dark Master has not sent his entire army at you is probably because he will not risk the possibility of conversion because of the influx of power that the seven sins would cause due to interference." responded Archion monotonously.
"So, who is the weakest of the bunch?"
"That would be who you know as Gluttony, who's only true power is to make his enemies fall asleep. It is perfect for larger armies who are then overpowered by a single person."
"So, do you think it could be easy for us to get him to talk?"
"Not likely." replied Choryrth, "If there is one thing about the sins, their resolve is immense. The only way to do so that I could see was to give them a bit of very compressed mana, and therefore separate the sin from it's host. While this is a very draining process, it is possible by a mortal being. But to focus on the present, we need a Dimensional Rifter, and if we don't, it won't matter what sin we face. The forces of darkness grow stronger by the minute, and if we don't act, we will die."
"Okay, I give you permission to leave Warfang for the isle, but you must be accompanied. Has anybody decided on somebody yet?"
"I'll go!" called a voice from somewhere.
They looked toward the source of the voice and saw that it was none other than Ember.
"Ember, you? Are you sure about this. It may damage your chances of becoming fire guardian."
"Yes, I am completely able to take that risk."
Cynder had been staring. Ember giggled and pressed a small heart shaped pendant that rested on her chest.
