(Instrumental) – (As the music begins were shown the forms of both Arthur, fully armored, and Ryuichi in his Kuoh Academy uniform as they appear standing back to back in darkness with their swords pointed to the ground before all fades to darkness and then the title appears.)

High School DxD: Heir of Camelot

(I'm stuck in a never-ending dream. Where my wishes and hopes cannot be seen) – (As the title fades were shown Ryuichi as he stands in Glastonbury Abbey looking over King Arthur's grave in thought.)

(And it's killing me, but I can't let go) – (In the main room of the ORC, Rias is shown to be looking out the main window with a forlorn look in her eyes before closing them in sad contemplation. A tear falls from her right eye as she thinks of Ryuichi.)

(There's a sadness raining down on me. And the future is looking oh so bleak) – (Ryuichi stands in forested area of Kuoh Academy in the middle of the rain as he summons the Invisible Air in his hands, looking upon the blade wondering what form it really is. Rias watches him from outside with an umbrella over her head as her fears manifest in the form of Riser Phenex with his back behind her yet on fire.)

(But I'm holding on, so dearly, to precious memories) – (The two then suddenly turn to and see each other from their respective spots looking back at each other with longing in their eyes and smiling at each other. Rias' fears in the form of Riser banish away in the process as the Rain stops and the sun soon shines through the clouds.)

(To protect the ones I cherish I've got to be stronger) – (The scene then changes to the rest of the ORC, Issei, Kiba, Koneko, Asia, and Akeno, in the daytime as everyone is together talking and enjoying tea as Ryuichi looks in the mirror and sees King Arthur's visage over his.)

(Don't want to hesitate, I wanna to be braver) – (The scene then cuts to Kiba and Ryuichi standing far with their blades drawn for training as the two swordsmen prepare to duel with the rest of the ORC cheering them on.)

(So no matter what may come I can face the morning sun) – (The next scene then turns dark as it shows the Fallen Angel group, with Dohnaseek, Mittelt, and Kalawarner sitting in the rooftop of the church and ray are levitating above them, and a large group of stray exorcists on ground floor.)

(Brave Shine!) – (The two sides begin their conflict, with Ryuichi engaging Dohnaseek with his Invisible Air as sparks fly.)

(Cause you brought me to your world and gave me light) – (Rias and Akeno then blast the large group of Exorcists with both lighting and Power of Destruction, clearing away a good amount of them as Koneko unleashes a shockwave by slamming her fist to the floor, erupting the earth and taking out many of them too.)

(On the night I suffered most, you saved my life) – (The scene then pans to Kiba and Freed as the two attempt to strike the other with sparks flying between.)

(Wielding all the things that we believe in; A test of faith I know I can win) – (The scene then show Issei and Ryuichi as they take on Milttelt, Kalwarner, and Raynare. The next scene swiftly changes to Ryuichi charging up his sword with light before slamming it to the ground, blinding everything in yellow and white light.)

(I'll grant us love and peace for all time) – (The scene then cuts to Ryuichi after the fight as he stands with Excalibur in his hands as everyone rallies in front of the ruined church as the group then smiles at their newest friend and he walks to join them.)

(Cause you shine!) – (The last scene shows King Arthur's grave at Glastonbury Abbey with Excalibur stuck into the grave marker as the title card shows once again.)

Chapter 8: Training and More Training

"Come on you two, you're almost there," Rias cheered to her two newest pieces. Now why was having to cheer them on you say? Were they doing their usual training routine?

Nope, instead Issei and I were trudging along with two heavy backpacks full of materials for the training camp we were going to be on for the next 10 days.

While Issei's backpack was big, mine was slightly enlarged due to my Rook status and Rias telling me it was for "building my endurance" although I'm of the belief she wanted to simply see me sweat to death under this blazing sun.

"Just visualize the end you two," Akeno said as she drank from a small watering hole on the side of the road.

"Oh, sure we're coming… eventually," I said as the two of us were sweating buckets. Asia looked worried for her friends.

"Um, Rias, shouldn't we help them a little?" The former nun asked.

"Now, now. They have to be able to carry all of that stuff on their own," Rias answered.

As we both continued up the path we heard walking behind us; the first was Kiba with a bag similar to Issei' and he was going as if on a normal stroll with a small plastic bag in his hand.

"On your left, you two," Kiba said simply as he passed. Issei looked on as the blonde strolled on by.

"Oh come on, what did they give you feathers or something?" Issei asked annoyed. Then Koneko with an even larger bag the size of an elephant passed us by.

"Watch it slowpokes," She nonchalantly replied as she bumped Issei causing him to fall forward.

"Gah, I hate this!" Issei yelled out again in annoyance.

I was then able to join the rest as I can only look on and chuckle at the whining Pawn's predicament. I pity his weak strength but that doesn't necessarily mean I look down on him. If anything, I could only hope that eventually he will become strong.

Reaching the Gremory manor, I am once again surprised by the grand look of it just on the outside knowing the inside is just as spectacular as it could be.

Asia was amazed at the architecture. "Wow, this place is amazing."

"Alright, let's get inside and get to work," Rias informed us.

"What? But we just got up here! That's so not fair!" Issei continued to whine once more.

"Why thank you," Rias said a smile on her face. Sarcasm was something that surprised me of her.

"Of course a devil would find glee in the suffering of another," I said with a deadpanned face.

As we came inside we all prepared ourselves for the training ahead putting on our jerseys or jackets as we all got ready.

Issei, Kiba, and I had all been assigned one of the large guests rooms inside the manor. Once we settled, I left early, having gotten ready quickly ahead of them until I forgot something again… my compression gear.

Heading back to the dorm room I opened the door to ask the guys if they'd seen it in the room.

"Hey, guys I think I forgot my compression gear again have you seen… it… anywhere?" My voice slowed as I looked to the sight before me. Issei with both his hands on one of Kiba's but with how close they are one could… misconstrue such a position.

'Yuki is gonna love this stuff,' I thought to myself as I we stared at each other. I then took out my phone and snapped a quick photo.

"Don't you fucking dare!" I heard Issei shout at me as quickly shut the door and ran from them. Issei later demanded I delete the photo. I only pretended to do so, however.

What? This is blackmail gold and BL material which I'm sure Yuki can do something within 10 days' time with it. If she ever asks for a contract with me again and wants something in return, then this will do.

With all of that squared away we headed outside, and our training session begun.

Lesson 1: Sword Training w/Kiba

As the more natural of the group as a swordsmen I went first with Kiba as we handled our wooden swords, while everyone was a spectator to our spar.

"Just remember, Ryuichi watch your opponent not just the sword," Kiba said a smile on his face. "But given your experience, I can tell you know that, but I wish to see it in action."

I nodded as the both of us got into a ready stance. Then both of us came charging at one another at the same time.

CLASH!

Both our swords were locked as we stared each other down for a few seconds until I pressed forward towards Kiba. Then, using my right hand, I grabbed his arm from underneath and attempt to flip Kiba pivoting on my foot for a better momentum.

As Kiba lands, I try to unleash a quick roundhouse which he dodges in time and then retaliates with an overhand strike, which I quickly parry. Kiba then puts on the pressure and unleashes a flurry of strikes and occasional jabs into his bladework which I wither dodge or parry just in time.

Deciding on to take the offensive, after finding an opening. I then unleash my own barrage of attacks which Kiba shows his own prowess as Rias' knight showing off not only his offense but defense as well.

"You're amazing. I thought you were good, but not this good. To put in martial arts as well as your use of the sword…I'm impressed really," Kiba complimented the Rook as the squared off again.

"Thanks. And you prove yourself as a knight just as well. But I did have a good teacher myself. So then shall we continue?" I ask him. With a nod the two of us continue on for the next half-hour until Rias stopped us after she thought it was enough.

The two of us bruised from our intense spar, Asia offered to heal the both of us until they were all gone.

Lesson 2: Magical Power w/Akeno

"Now then we'll be sort of be continuing your lesson from before. Do you two remember how demonic magic works?" Akeno asked the three of us. Me and Issei had a previous lesson before Asia joined so she's still new to all of this.

"We concentrate our energy at a single focal point," Issei quickly answered. Although I think he's only trying to impress Asia with trying to be smart.

"Normally the best location would be at the top of our hands," I added on.

"That's correct now then, how about you two show off that ability for little Asia here?" Akeno asked.

With that the two of us prepared to draw out our magical energy but Issei's nervous disposition shows due to his lack of magical talent. Neither of us normally uses our demonic magic and I normally use my magecraft as a boost in my abilities. Merlin had showed me how to harness mana which was mostly like demonic magic just different in that most magecraft needed incantations to activate and use.

Regardless we summoned our magical energy, and in my hands was a ball about 35 cm. While looking at Issei, his had grown a little bit compared to the near tiny dot it was in our first lesson. In comparison to mine, it was now about 10 cm.

My training with Merlin in a way has helped me in honing my control of mana so I incorporated that here.

"My, my, Ryuichi, look at how big you've gotten," Akeno said with a smile. I don't know why but I feel afraid right now.

Issei could only gawk at my magical orb as he then deflated into despair, but Asia was quick to cheer him up. She then decided to do the same thing and when she finished hers was even bigger than ours combined.

"Look, I did it!" Asia cheered in delight. The green orb was glowing brightly as Akeno clapped her hands together in merry.

"Look at you go, girl. Keep that up and you'll be a force to be reckoned with in time," Akeno told her.

Issei still looking despondent I put my hand on his shoulder and tried to cheer him up, "Don't be so down dude. Just look compared to our first lesson it was a lot bigger than last time."

"Yeah, easy for you to say. You're a lot better at this than me," He said with shame and worry in his voice.

"That's why we're here dude. To train and get better and stronger than when we first started. Besides if you give up now, how are you ever going to impress girls that you may get for your harem, hmm?" I added in the last part to cheer him up which gets him back into high gear as we continue on.

Akeno now decides to show us how our demonic magic can be channeled as elemental magic. Using a water bottle as an example adding some magic the water inside then turns into sharp icicles.

"With enough power and concentration, you can use any of the elements from fire, water, lightning. Anything you can imagine is at our hands." Akeno explained before turning her attention over to me. "Ryuichi, since you have just a little bit better control, let's see if you have what it takes, we can go outside and try this out."

She then looks over to Issei and Asia.

"Issei, you and Asia continue on with your concentration practice while I help Ryuichi find out which element he's good at," With that Akeno and I went out to the backyard where she placed out an assortment of items such as a water bottle, a rock, a light bulb, and pieces of paper out on a table.

As she turned back to me her smile was gone and now her eyes showed a sense of longingness "Now before we start… can I ask a favor?"

"S-sure, what's wrong?" I asked with slight trepidation.

"Can you please call me by my first name from now on?" She asked.

I blinked in surprise, "I-is that all?"

"Please just call me Akeno from now on." She repeated.

'She couldn't have… No… that wasn't what started it, right?' I thought to myself for why she's asking me this.

"Is that all really? You didn't have to be so cordial for something like that, Akeno, I'd have done it even without you asking." I answered with a smile.

Her face brightened as her smile returned, "In that case, can I ask you to… pat me on the head?"

I blinked but as I did so I found myself patting her on the hair as if I had done this before. Although I think I did something like this for her after my fight with Dohnaseek.

After a few seconds I stopped and she giggled to herself as she said, "I look forward to tomorrow's administration."

I suddenly heard a small giggle, like she was looking forward to something related to me.

"I don't feel too good…" I think I'll have to go to sleep with Excalibur in my hand tonight.

Now back in lecture mode, she told me of the various elements, such as ice, fire, water, lighting, and earth. How some are easier to use then others and to better understand them it is best to be exposed to them which can enhance one's imagination and help envision their magic potential.

"So we'll try and find your elements with these items. So focus some of your magic into reach one of them and they should react in a certain way. That'll show us which elements you have a proficiency for, so off you go." Akeno said.

As I started I picked up the water bottle, focusing some of my magic into the bottle when suddenly I could feel a violent swirling inside of it and then a few seconds later it burst open and water exploded around us.

I was soon left with a sight of a wet Akeno, her uniform soaked and her bra showing through the thin clothing. Already do my cheeks feel red.

"My, now you've gotten me all wet, but we still have some other things to test out so keep going," Akeno commented as I continued.

For the next task, I picked up the rock and after putting in magical power, I began to feel the rock get warmer with time but not really scorching hot. It was more of a feeling of boiling water in a hot pot.

"Well, not powerful but could be worth something. Fire is a common element among devils like the Phenex clan." Akeno explained.

I then moved on to the light bulb, which was now off but as I held it in my hands and did the same thing again. I felt a strong current run through the bulb until it shined brightly as if brand new that was until it then popped and broke into shards.

"My, my this I didn't expect it would seem water and lightning are you biggest strengths. I'm starting to feel wet all over again. We can really have some fun you and I," Akeno said in my ear, now with her wet shirt I could more closely feel her breasts on my back and more so her nipples as they made contact.

"O-okay, can I please now?" I beg as I shake her off me. Now with the pieces of paper I hold them in my hands and thinking back to a certain orange-coated ninja from my world after focusing my magic on my hands I opened it up to find that the paper had indeed been cut but not by much or in many pieces.

"Well you seem to have a good grasp on the elements overall, but it would probably be best if you focus on your best ones for now," Akeno finished off as we cleaned up the mess and our training moved on.

Lesson 3: Hand to Hand combat w/Koneko

Blocking a punch from Koneko but even with my own Rook strength and defense I'm pushed back. She then went for a quick kick to my side as I grabbed her leg and threw her away in which she landed gracefully.

'Huh, guess her nekoshou side is still there. She just doesn't use at full power; I understand why too.'

"You tend to grapple quite a bit; do you know martial arts?" She asked me as the two of us engaged again.

While she's throwing punches, I'm either dodging them or trying to once again find an opening. An opportunity came as one of her punches goes too far. I grab it and keeping her punching arm up in the air and putting her in a bear hug across her whole body I then use the momentum of this strike to fall forward and force onto her back as I perform an arm choke on her holding her in place.

"Does that answer your question?" I answered as I then felt a small tap on my side from her and I let go of her.

"Judo and Brazilian Jujitsu. That's a good combo," Koneko replied. "Didn't expect that."

"Yeah, when I was younger I always wanted to learn martial arts, so I went as a kid to take judo lessons." I explained to her. "Actually I was one of few students in the dojo whoever received his black-belt although I'm only a first degree."

"That's… pretty impressive. And the jujitsu?" She continued to ask. I then noticed she wouldn't keep her gaze on me for long as she seemed to look somewhere else just so she couldn't look me in the eyes.

"Just another lesson I got from a friend whose a student of Brazilian Jujitsu. I tend to learn quickly," I answered again.

"Let's keep going…" Koneko said as the two of us continued our training for some time.

One Hour Later…

The sun was now setting as I was resting under a tree and panting heavily as Koneko had pushed me pash my normal limits. I knew I hadn't necessarily focused on my hand-to-hand skills since I had been here, but I never thought I could feel like jelly after just one hour.

I looked over the mountains nearby and took in the sights and saw the wide-open sprawl of hills and mountains all around and hear all the wildlife mostly birds soaring and calling around nearby.

'This is all quite beautiful really; I had forgotten that nature was this peaceful,' I thought to myself as I watched the sunset.

"But geez, that was brutal." I said to myself. "I can see why Koneko's a Rook in the first place. It goes with her to a T."

"We're all special and have things unique to us," Koneko suddenly appeared from nowhere and responded.

"I guess, although I still don't feel like I'm any closer to finding out what my own Sacred Gear is besides the fact it takes the shape of a sword. Hell, even Issei has something special about him. But what do I got…?" I said as the worries I've had recently come out.

I was then surprised when I felt two small hands on my right one and see that Koneko had taken my hand into her hands.

"I know you feel like the pervert has something on you, but you are special. It all takes time and I'm sure you'll find what that thing is one day, and I want to see with you," Koneko said as she looked into my eyes.

Not only is this the most I've heard from the cat girl but the way she looked at me was soft and gentle unlike the usual stoic and monotone look she would give usually. Her eyes too looked relaxed and vulnerable.

In that next moment I did something in hindsight I thought would make her punch me in the face. My hand found its way to her head and I found myself patting her head softly. In the process I thought I could hear her purr into my hand.

I then heard her give a Nya~. She even smiled and closed her eyes in joy as she let me continue doing it for several seconds until her eyes widened and she replied, "L-let's get back to the house."

Somehow, there was a tiny blush on her face.

We walked back towards the manor and we all had lunch made possible by Asia and Issei.

If you call onions and potatoes lunch that is…

"What the hell, Issei?" I asked him not really surprised as I saw a mountain of peeled potatoes and onions before us on the table.

"I think I got a little carried away when peeling the potatoes and onions." Issei replied as he sheepishly scratched the back of his head.

"Why do I feel like you weren't thinking of an onion or potato at all while you were doing this?" I asked him bluntly. "Okay new rule, I am officially taking over cooking all meals from now on while we're here."

"You know how to cook, Ryuichi?" Kiba asked me.

I nodded in reply. "Yeah, I was always a momma's boy so when my mother and grandma cooked I was always watching them and learned from them. I even made some of my own food for them to taste back them," A warm smile came on my face, thinking of all the fond memories of my grandma and mom back home.

"They must've been wonderful ladies." Akeno said with a smile.

"Yeah, the best," I then felt a wave of depression come over me as my smile faded as I thought back on my parents. Being in a whole different universe knowing my mom and family are alive and well. They probably think I'm missing or dead by now.

I can only wonder… how they are right now after I left?

"Ryuichi, are you okay?" Rias asked with concern in her voice. I turn to her and give her a small smile to reply.

"Yeah, I'm fine. But for now let's eat what we can I suppose," I answered as we all sat down to eat.

As we were all eating I looked over to the pervert himself and I could see him with a big flush on his face as he seemed to stare at each one of the girls in great detail. I think he's visualizing them naked…

Ohhhh, this is where he starts getting the idea for his Dress Break technique… I really hope I don't have to witness it during the game.

Oh, who am I kidding? Of course I'm gonna see it eventually. I might as well just put up and shut up about it. Not like I'm gonna rehabilitate the perv in the next few seconds. But if he ever does it to any girl without consent, I'm sending his ass to kingdom come.

"Now then, Ryuichi, Issei, have you two learned anything new about yourselves?" Rias inquired of us.

"… I'm the weakest/weak link of the group," I and Issei say respectively to her question. I look to Issei, while he looked at me confused, and I continued.

"What do you mean, Issei? You have the Boosted Gear, a Sacred Gear capable of killing Gods and Satans if brought to its full potential. Sure, I've got just a little bit more endurance and strength but after your second boost it doesn't matter what I've got up my sleeve," I explained to him.

He still looked surprised by my explanation and replied in a whisper, "…Thanks" Though I'm sure I was the only one who heard him.

"Yes, in some ways that is true," Rias confirmed as she continued, "All of us have much greater experience in our devil powers than you two, but that's what this training is about. To help you two get to your full potential."

Rias then stood up from the chair at her table.

"Now then after all of that sweating, I think a bath is in order," She said afterwards.

Issei now in pervert mode replied, "We're all going together?!" He shot out of his chair.

"That was the plan. Do you want to join us? You want to see us naked right?" Rias teased the boy with a playful smirk.

Issei's head was near to smoking, he looked as though he was about to burst… as in a massive nosebleed.

"I guess I don't mind. Do you, Akeno?" Rias inquired of her queen.

"Of course not. It sounds like fun and Ryuichi is more than welcome to join," Akeno then looked at me and wink. Yeah, I don't feel safe.

"You Asia?" Rias moved on to the nun.

"Sure…" Asia answered looking embarrassed.

"Koneko?"

"I'd rather die…but Ryuichi is fine I guess," Koneko said the last part to herself but all of us could hear her.

Issei could then be seen with a cloud above his head and the rain coming down, "It's not fair. Why does he get all the attention?"

"Now that's just melodramatic…" Rias deadpanned.

"We usually call that normal for him." I did the same.

"You try and peek, and I kill you," Koneko said going back to her serious tone.

And we're here… in the baths… with Kiba and Issei… and the pervert is pushing his face against the dividing wall… with nothing but perversion in mind.

"Should we be leaving you two alone?" Kiba said with an amused smile on his face.

"Looks like that wall and you could use some alone time," I added in for him.

"Shut up! This is all part of my training!" Issei shot at us.

"They teaching you X-ray vision or something?" Kiba asked sarcastically, a rare trait from him.

"O' perversion, thy name is Hyoudou," I said in the same sarcastic tone.

"If that's the one thing I'm good at then so be it! It was given to me for a reason!" Issei bellowed as he stared down the divider.

"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" He yelled out in determination… for nothing to happen.

"Dumbass, just get in the water and soak," I said feeling rather annoyed now. He gave up and finally joined us.

"Come on guys! Don't tell me you're not the least bit interested?" Issei was really trying now to get us on board.

"I'm a healthy teenage boy, Issei, but there's this thing called control we learn, and you seem to need it more than most," I answered him.

"I agree, Issei. I see the girls more as family and friends than as targets of affection. Besides, it feels wrong," Kiba answered too.

"Damn it, so I'm alone in this. I swear I'll make a spell that will give me X-ray vision and see through any walls!" A fire in Issei's eyes he raised his fist high in the air.

Finally deciding to join us Issei then spoke to me as we were soaking in the baths.

"So hey… Ryuichi." I turned to give him my attention. "Who is it that you like?"

I was caught off-guard by his question at first and all I could say to respond was, "W-what?"

"Who do you like? I mean Buchou seems to get along with you, Akeno seems really fond of you, and even Koneko seems to like you too. They're all good looking and have nice breasts, so who do you like the most?"

I could hear the genuine curiosity in his voice as he asked. Memories of each girl flood my mind as he asked me that; my first kiss with Rias in my room, my make-out session with Akeno, and even Koneko's nervousness around me, including the head pat from today, are brought to the forefront of my thinking in the moment as I process his question.

"So what is it?" I could hear Issei asking me for an answer.

Just as I was about to answer him another torrent of memories flooded my head. I had no time to react at all.

"My love, I'll always remember you. I hope you will do the same…"

"I'm always happy in your arms, never let me go…"

"You're the only man I'll ever truly love, no one can match you…"

I can only hold my head in pain as the torrent seemed relentless. Who is this woman, why does she sound familiar? Who is she? All I could see was brown hair, her face obscured by the darkness.

"Um, Ryuichi are you okay?" Kiba asks me in slight concern.

"I-I'm fine. I'm gonna get out now guys. See you later," I left them after I got my towel and clothes and headed to bed early.

The next day was all about lesson on Devils and their history spanning the many conflicts they were involved in and the aftermath of the events. Then Asia gave us some basic lessons on items used by Exorcists and nuns.

With no physical training for today the day winded down with us three newbies trying out or demonic magic again and later on heading off to bed.

As I slept once again another dream flooded me…

Dream Begins…

This time instead of Camelot but this time in the privacy of the king himself as he was in his solar reading a book from his collection.

After hearing a tap on the door he moves to answer it calling out, "Who goes there?"

"It's me, Arthur." That same smooth and soft female voice from before speaks. This time though I can make out a few details I notice her hair which is a beautiful chestnut brown that flows to her shoulders.

"Ven, how are you doing? Are you being careful around the castle? Do you need some…" Arthur begins shooting off multiple questions as 'Ven' puts a finger to silence him.

Her hand then guides back to her stomach as she answers him, "I'm fine, Arthur. Just focus on the here and now. Nothing else."

"I can't. Thinking about you and the little one makes me worry. If they ever find out…" Arthur begins to say.

"They will not, even if she doesn't have wings she'll be strong for both of us," Ven replied.

Arthur then lowered himself to one knee and placed a hand and his cheek to her stomach, "Can you hear me in there, little one? I'm your father. I hope you are doing well. I hope to see you one day."

"We'll see her together, Arthur. We'll always be together no matter what happens," Ven says as the two then share a kiss and the dream begins to turn white and fade away…

Dream Ends…

I then shoot up from my bed breathing heavily from that dream I just had…

That woman she now seems familiar to me and she was pregnant with Arthur's child?! What did she mean by "wings"? Was she somehow from one of the Three Factions or something?

Thinking on this I quietly got out of bed and headed out to get some fresh air heading for the rotunda outside. As I stood there I couldn't help but look to my hand as the Invisible Air showed itself.

"A king, huh? Arthur, who were you really? Who were you without that crown on?" I asked myself until a voice shook me from my thoughts.

"Ryuichi, is that you?" A familiar voice spoke as I turned to see Rias, wearing glasses and with a manual in hand. But no Issei with her either.

"Rias. Couldn't sleep?" I asked her as she joined me.

"No, just working on some last-minute changes to our battle plan going into the game," Rias replied as she showed me the tactics she had come up with for the battle.

Even as she shows me all her plans I couldn't help but look in her eyes for all the confidence she was showing it was prevalent that she was doubting herself. She felt scared but she wouldn't say anything.

With all the changes that've been made recently and all I had been thorough I had to know,

"Rias." I said to her slowly. "What was the reason you made me a devil and what we tried to do in my room? Was that all to escape this marriage proposal?" I inquired of her. It was hard for me to do this, but I had to know her true feelings on the matter, here and now.

She seemed to be hesitant as she looked at me, then looked to the moon in the sky.

"In the beginning, yes." Rias began to say. "But what I tried to do to you was unforgiveable. I was even willing to incur your hatred of me even if it meant going that far. I was just so scared then, but I came to find myself relying on you so much. When you faced off against that Fallen Angel by yourself, I was so scared then when I saw you bleeding out. I was fearful that you would die then. But you fought on and came back. When you were seemingly all alone. you fought with everyone and stood up to the enemy."

She looks deep into my eyes, like a hunger or a longing.

"Your bravery always inspired me, and it still does when you stood up to Riser. I was surprised at first, but I should've know you would do something like that. And when I was in your arms that night and we had our first kiss, I felt safe once more and knew I had hope for a better future with you." She finally finished as she looked at me with a greater longing in her eyes.

She then came closer and her buxom body pressed against my chest as her arms wrapped around me.

I did the same as this feeling felt familiar as if I've felt it before. As if I've seen it.

"Don't worry, Rias. I'll always be there for you. You're the only one I'd ever fight for and the only one I'd ever be wit. No one else can replace Rias Gremory. Not the heir to the Gremory clan, just Rias Gremory," I answered her.

"You really do have a way with words, but do you mean it?" She asked me.

"What do you mean?" I asked her in return.

"I… saw you with Akeno that day in the ORC," Rias says softly as I can begin to hear her cry. "Why… why her? Am I truly not desirable to you? Is it Akeno that you lust for?" She asked me as her tears tracks stain her face.

So she saw us that day, even know I don't know why I did it. I should've known better in the moment, but I guess in hindsight I felt lonely in the moment. Akeno was the closest relief I had and in some way I did betray Rias. But that was the past and I was putting that away.

Taking her hands and placing them in mine I got on one knee and promised her.

"I promise this to you now, Rias Gremory. Just like I told you that night there is only one woman I've ever dreamed about, and you'll always be the one I think about the most. No one could ever replace you. Even if you were to hate me for the rest of my life. I will always support you."

Rias then stopped crying taken aback by my pledge as I took her in my arms and wiped away her teach tracks. We held each other for a few moments until we let go and I decided I had cleared my head until I felt a tug on my sleeve.

"Rias?" I asked her.

"C-can you sleep with me tonight? I just… don't want to be alone." She said her eyes once again showing a sense of longing.

"Sure, let's go," We went back inside and found ourselves on Rias' king size bed and the two of us in each other's arms went peacefully to sleep.

The Next Day…

"Ryuichi, Issei. I want both to use your Sacred Gears today," Rias instructed us. I knew today we would be meant to draw out our power, but can I really pull out anything like I did on the mountain?

I mean that was something with Arthur's help, but what could I do with my own power? Could I really stand up to Issei's level knowing what he's capable of in the future…?

… No I can't stop. I made a promise that I would see this through. Besides, there is nowhere else to go but forward. I have to, for my sake and everyone else too.

"I thought you didn't want me and Ryuichi using our Sacred Gears at all?" Issei questioned.

"Not without my permission now then since you two have been learning. I think its best we see what you two are capable of together," Rias explained. "Now then I want you both to stand apart from each other and summon your Sacred Gears."

We did as instructed, standing away some feet apart from each other. I summoned the Invisible Air and Issei summoned the Boosted Gear on his right arm.

"Alright you two bring out all the power you can!" Rias instructed us.

"You got it! Boosted Gear, go!" Issei commands.

[BOOST!]

"Now again, Issei!" Rias commanded. Issei continued to do so on her orders.

Hearing Ddraig's voice, I couldn't lose my focus, so I only focused on me and the sword. Raising the blade to my face I then focused my mana into the blade and slowly the color of the blade started to change from the white air to a blue hue.

As if on an instinct I think back to that night on the mountain and now without Arthur to guide I began to chant:

"That which lays the foundation of humanity …"

"Holds the paths and wishes of its order …"

[BOOST!] x 4

The blue hue of the Invisible Air now shows the bright yellow light of Excalibur, but not the blade itself like that fateful night.

"That place which serves to heal all wounds…"

"That wishes to protect all that lives…"

[BOOST!] x 8

"Now Issei let it all out!" Rias ordered.

"Dragon Shot!" Issei unleashes his powerful attack once his fist goes forward.

"But what's Ryuichi doing?" Kiba asked in wonder as everyone know looked at me now.

"Manifest Yourself! Lord Chaldeas!" I yell out as I burrow Excalibur into the ground before me as a large shield wall appears before me just as Issei's Dragon Shot reaches me.

"AAAHHHH!" Struggling to keep up the shield, with what power I had left, I then deflected the beam upwards stopping the attack as the red beam flew into the stratosphere but not without leaving a boom in the air.

Using our largest amount of power yet, the two of us then faint with Kiba and Koneko catching us.

"Issei's come a long way hasn't he?" Akeno pointed out.

"Yes, but Ryuichi he's still a mystery," Rias answered as the two looked on at my passed-out form.

(Finally, you've given me, a reason to be strong) – (The ending begins as Rias and Ryuichi stare at each other some distance apart.)

(And we'll stand, hand in hand, till the end!) – (The two then reach out to each other join hands as they look to the sunrise in front of them.)

(As my body's shaking, the future is out there waiting) – (The scene then cuts to the ORC as they are once more in the clubroom but this time Ryuichi looks out the window a look of worry on his face.)

(For me to grasp the light, that's trembling just like my hand) – (Ryuichi is then alone again as tensely holds his fist as the invisible air begins to manifest.)

(I gotta keep it safe from fading that's all I want) – (His gaze then turns to Rias as he then begins to cry once more. Rias too in her office once more can't help but think of Riser's flames as Ryuichi is nowhere to be seen.)

(The subtle scent of midnight - [I spent all thirty nights]) – (The scene then turns to Ryuichi's apartment as he and Rias are laid out in an intimate position on the bed. Just as the two are about to begin until Ryuichi stops Rias and looks her in the eye.)

(I glare up at the stars - [Staring into the sky]) – (The two then look each other in the eyes as the other has tears in their eyes. Until they both get up and look out to the half-moon outside together.)

(The path I see before me I know only I can change it) – (The two then look back at each other until they share their first passionate kiss together.)

(That's all that I need) – (The scene then darkens as the music picks up.)

(Finally, you've given me, a reason to be strong) – (The scene then changes to when the two in a loving embrace as the sun rises to show the two in their Kuoh Academy uniforms.)

(And we'll stand, hand in hand, till the end) – (The two then then charge out into the bright sun together hand in hand.)

(Despite the past mistakes we can't erase, a future that we can't escape) – (The scene then cuts to the ORC staring down Riser's peerage as the Phenex heir glares at Ryuichi in particular.)

(As long as I can always keep you safe I've gotta be strong) – (Another cut occurs as the two peerages engage in combat with each other. Koneko and Issei face off against Riser's pawns. Kiba and Ryuichi clash with Riser's knights. Akeno then electrocutes both of Riser's bishops with Ravel escaping before Akeno engages with Yubelluna. This just leaves Rias to face Riser alone with only Asia to support her.)

(So to your name, I'll fight through the pain) – (As Riser is about to unleash another large blast of his Phenex flame, a figure rushes toward Rias' defense as its shown to be Ryuichi who appears later with Excalibur dug in the ground. Although singed he still stands up, the blade glowing a yellow white light.)

(This world can beat me down a hundred times but into the light I'll always rise) – (Ryuichi and Riser then engage in single combat with the two devils fighting evenly in three quick time images until Ryuichi falls back towards Rias, the redhead by his side to check on him.)

(A lotus flower so pure, right up to the end) – (As Riser smirks in what seems to be victory he begins charging another attack for Ryuichi to then hold Excalibur high in the air at the same time as the sword begins to glow with a golden hue. Rias then joins Ryuichi as she adds her power to the blade changing its color from yellow to crimson red.)

(Until it blooms, a bright red) – (The two then unleash their greatest attacks as the two clash it causes a massive explosion when in the next Excalibur stuck in the ground with Riser's jacket flowing in the wind on its blade.)

AN#1 – Here's the next chapter of High School DxD: Heir of Camelot, in this chapter is all about training for the big day.

Not only does Ryuichi train his body, he also connects with almost everyone in the ORC. Rias, Akeno, Koneko. He also reinforces his feelings to Rias that no matter what he'll always be there for her.
