Dear Remus,

I saw him! I saw Harry! I know summer doesn't end in a few more weeks, and that I should be hiding because the whole country is looking for me, but I just had to see him. I just had to try and catch a glimpse of my godson before I figured out what to do next. So I went to where he lives with the Dursleys and I saw him. He was leaving with his trunk, which seemed strange to me, as it was late and already dark; but I obviously couldn't go ask him if he was okay. He did see me though, in my dog shape; I'm afraid I gave him a fright. He left with the Knight Bus.

I didn't see him as well as I had hoped, since it was dark; but it was enough to see that he looks exactly like James. Merlin, how much I wouldn't give to see James one last time...

I shouldn't show myself again, though. I don't know if you've told anyone about my Animagus form, so it's too risky. I have to focus on catching Peter. Harry is better off without me, anyway; I'm just glad to have caught a glimpse of him.

It's probably a good thing that summer doesn't end yet, as I still have a long way to go. I have to travel by foot, or by paw, actually, as I can't transform back into a human, not while everyone thinks I'm a mass murderer. I would get to make out with a Dementor before I ever reached Peter. And stray dogs can't take the underground, or any other means of transport, so that means I'll have to walk all the way to Hogwarts.

I'll manage, though. I have to. Sometimes I pass some villages where nice old ladies will give me treats, other times I have to feed myself on rats and berries. It's a good thing I don't feel much sympathy for rats anymore.

Love, Sirius
