The trek through Dodongo's Cavern was treacherous, but not bad enough that Sonic couldn't find his way around. With Navi by his side, he walked through the cavern, fighting off fire monsters and picking up items. It wasn't long before Sonic found the dungeon map. "Now we just need the compass," Navi said joyfully. So, the two friends walked on until they found the chest that held the very item Sonic needed: The Compass! With the compass, Sonic was able to locate exactly where the boss room was. In the middle of the cavern, Sonic heard a low rumbling sound beneath him. "I must be standing right on top of the boss room," Sonic said.
