Elsa and Honeymarren ran to the swinging door behind the sliding one and saw that the caboose was moving away from the rest of the train.
"Oh no." Said Honeymarren.
"What, what is it?" Asked Kristoff.
"We're moving."
"So let's jump off before we end up riding this thing all the way back home!"
The caboose started picking up speed as it pointed downhill.
"Bad idea! At this speed, we could get hurt pretty bad by jumping off!" Said Elsa.
"Well, what do you suggest we do?" Asked Kristoff.
"Well, we're not gonna ride this thing all the way back home." Said Elsa as she, Kristoff and Honeymarren ran back to the patio and held onto the guardrail.
"You're right, the tracks level out further down from here. We'll coast to a stop and make a run back to the others!" Said Honeymarren.
"Exactly! We're gonna be okay!"
The caboose ran over a red button on the tracks, activating a switcher up ahead that changed the route to pointing down a steep hill instead of the route they came in from.
"Maybe not!"
The caboose went down the hill and picked up even more speed. Honeymarren and Kristoff held onto the guardrail for dear life while Elsa, remembering how she stopped the train earlier, grabbed onto the seats for support and stability as she made her way to the other end of the caboose looking for an emergency brake. She looked everywhere, but didn't find anything resembling the lever she pulled down.
"There's no brake! I can't find the brake!" She yelled as the caboose continued speeding down the tracks on the spiraling hill.
As Elsa put her hands on either side of the exterior of the swinging doorway and looked down in an attempt to find something to stop the car, she heard something tap on a turn-wheel to her right. She turned and saw that the Hobo had reappeared, sitting on the roof.
"Take a "brake" kid! How about a nice good hot cup of Joe?!"
The Hobo poured himself a cup of Joe as the caboose reached the bottom of the hill and sped into a tunnel, where the Hobo instantly turned to ash and dropped his pitcher and cup when he hit the front of the tunnel head on. Honeymarren and Kristoff screamed as they were put into pitch black darkness as the caboose continued moving at an uncomfortably fast speed.
The wheels started generating orange sparks and flames as Elsa started turning the brake wheel.
"Come on! Stop! Or at least slow down!" She exclaimed as she continuously turned it, but the caboose had too much momentum and only slightly decelerated. It then rounded a sharp turn and went straight toward a stone object at the end of the tracks.
"We're gonna crash!" Yelled Honeymarren as the caboose hit the object head on, stopping it in its tracks and making her, Elsa and Kristoff fall to the floor.
As they recovered, they found that they had a hard time staying on their feet. Elsa looked out the windows and saw that their new surroundings were moving.
"We're spinning!"
They approached the doorway that would've led to the other passenger car and saw that the caboose was on a moving, brown turntable. Seven identical tunnels led into different spots on the turntable. What appeared to be a frozen waterfall was beneath the tunnels and surrounded the turntable. The song "Walking in a Winter Wonderland" played through some speakers hanging from the roof. As the caboose stopped spinning, they slowly climbed out of it.
"Aw, great. Which way did we come from?" Said Elsa.
"Sh. Do you hear that?" Asked Honeymarren.
"Hear what?"
"The bell."
"What bell?"
"The sleigh bell! Didn't you hear it? It's coming from that tunnel!"
Honeymarren approached one of the stretches of track that came out of a tunnel and led onto the turntable.
"That's the way we should go!"
Honeymarren stepped onto one of the rails and started slowly walking across it, holding her arms out on either side of her to help maintain her balance. She turned to Elsa and Kristoff.
"Come on!"
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Asked Kristoff.
"No, but it's the best idea we have right now." Said Elsa.
Elsa stepped onto the rail and started following Honeymarren, and Kristoff followed suit.
"Slow and steady. You got this." Elsa told herself.
Kristoff's foot slipped after taking another step, but he quickly regained his footing before he could lose too much balance. As they came three quarters of the way across, Honeymarren stopped in her tracks, and Elsa and Kristoff were forced to stop since they had no way of going around her.
"What?" Elsa asked. Honeymarren didn't respond. "WHAT?!"
"Nothing. Come on." Answered Honeymarren as they continued going across the rail.
They soon made it across and ran through the tunnel. As they reached the end of it, which ended up leading back to the city, the tracks narrowed and came to a stop. On either side of them were buildings clearly intended for people half their size. The route soon reached an end with a small tunnel at the end of it.
"We're lost." Said Elsa.
"Lost in the North Pole on Christmas Eve. You know, that would make a killer book title." Said Kristoff.
Elsa got on her tippy toes and looked through the windows into one building, seeing a room full of vinyl records on top of desks. A broken record next to a sign that read "WRAPPING HALL" repeated the words "Ring-a-ling" once every second.
"Yes. I hear it." Said Honeymarren.
"I hear it, too!" Said Kristoff.
"I don't hear anything." Said Elsa, who was beginning to wonder if Honeymarren was messing with them and if she had gotten Kristoff in on the act.
"Okay, it's down this way." Said Honeymarren as she started toward the tunnel.
"Are you sure?" Asked Elsa.
Honeymarren stopped in her tracks, turned around to face Elsa, and said:
"Absolutely."
Realizing that was the first time she made it clear that she was certain the entire night, Elsa followed her and Kristoff into the tunnel.
