9. Forever Whole

Over the next few days we mourned our losses. Everyone fought valiantly, but it couldn't save us all. Stefan and Vladimir fell before they could enjoy watching their ancient enemies fall. We also lost Amun, who refused to fight last time, but fought willingly and bravely this time around. The wolves lost two of the young wolves named Tyson and Hunter. My fellow Children of the Moon suffered no losses and they left fairly quickly in order to enjoy their newfound freedom. They instructed me that they were planning on going to Canada for a while if I ever needed them. They thanked me for finding them. I was truly the one who was thankful. Without them, I may not have been able to celebrate this victory with the love of my life. Taha Aki disappeared just as quickly as he entered. Some of the wolves wanted to track him, but Jacob instructed them to let him go in peace. They all knew that he would return again if he was ever needed.

"It looks like things are going to be pretty boring around here for a while." I said as Leah and I rocked on the porch swing with her sitting on my lap with my arms wrapped around her tight.

"You know we'll find something to get into. Excitement always seems to find us." She laughed out as she lightly kissed my lips.

"Hopefully we can just settle down and enjoy each other for a while without the worry of impending doom hanging over our heads. It's so peaceful out here. The cool breeze is blowing lightly against our hot skin. There's no sound of wolves howling or vampires fighting. No smell of danger anywhere near. All there is to do is enjoy you."

"That's how I prefer it. I could get use to the quiet life. Of course, I could get used to any type of life that I get to spend with you. You're all I've ever wanted, and more."

"I'm so glad that we get to spend forever with each other."

Our lips touched, just like they have thousands of times before. The same burning passion still flowing out of each loving caress of our mouths. This is my favorite place in the world. There is no feeling like having Leah in my arms. This life has brought me the loss of both my parents. I've had friendships end. I've lost my normal life as a teenager and became a flesh hungry monster, but I've also gained a lot. I've gained a new family in the wolves. I've gained new friends in the Cullens. This road has been difficult, but it lead me to a love that a lot of people spend their whole lives chasing after. It was a love that brought two broken people together, and those people made each other whole again. I get to enjoy the most gorgeous smile in the world everyday, knowing that she is mine and I am hers. We can live together in complete joy. No longer broken, no longer scattered.
