Chapter 21

A week later, we finally made a grand connection.

"It works… It really works! MOTHER!"

It was the first time in months since I saw her face. Mother was smiling back at me and appeared so proud. "Boros… how have you been?"

"Fine mother, just fine. I wished to know how everyone is on your end? Is everything okay? Are your uncles fine?"

She insisted it was all going well, however there was something with her uncles. "Well, Uncle Street and Knuckle were acting oddly just the other week, it was like they haven't seen us in years!" she said.

Ah, that incident.

I know it all too well.

"I am sure they are fine mother, for now, I have some new technology to share with you. We are nearly ready to test our transportation system, correct?"

She nodded. This has been an interesting project to say the least. I left notes for mother to follow to hopefully make a small transporting system. We can exchange supplies, ideas and technology with each other, but, we need to do a test. I have completed mine. Mother just finished hers. "Okay, let's see if this works…" I watched with interest as she placed something within.

I licked my lips at the sight of it. "Are those…"

"Indeed, they are the infamous, Amai Mask fluffy pancakes!"

My heart was racing.

Ever since I was young and tasted those for the first time, I have come to savor them. I also crave them quite often! Amai Mask himself has to make these, mother has yet to prefect the process and I have yet to learn to cook for myself. But they will be our test for the chamber.

We have done some in the past, but mother's chamber never worked. It was either missing a part or lacked power. Either way she thinks this time it will work.

I pray it does. I want those pancakes!

She did some calibration and then, struck the button.

The surge that followed made me wonder… until my device powered up!

There was a flash and then, I saw my prize. "It worked!" I cheered.

Rushing to the box, I took out the pancakes and they were good! I devoured the whole plate in a single sitting. Mother was pleased that it was in working order and looked forward to sending me care packages and supplies.

In return I will be sending her technology from our travels. I just wished I had more time to tell her what I have done recently. Yet she had to go, when mother left. I began to wonder if I should tell her what happened.

I have complete access to Street and Knuckle Brawler. I know where they are at all times. Just last week, I found they had vanished from the system completely. I was concerned about it all until Geryuganshoop made the suggestion… well, all five of them did. Gene actually got creative and gave them each a different name. Yet he used their true name to do it, mainly it was for our sanity to tell them apart. There Ger, Yu, Gan, Shoop and Yugan.

"Did you check the alternative time lines My Lord?" said Ger

"We have that ability?" I asked.

The five laughed. "Have you forgotten what we acquired recently?!" said Shoop.

Ah it's been so busy I didn't remember. After we saved the one planet we ventured and found another. The ruins of it were technology based, the earth itself was still good and the plant life was taking over once more. Yet when we cloned the people back, they were quick to reclaim their land and rebuild rather instantly.

They were small people however, their work speaks for themselves. They reminded me of mythical creatures named Dwarves that Luna used to read to me about. Yet they were still tall, nearly that of a twelve-year-old human and a strong build. "We are best at created everything technology based, our world is top of the line!" one proudly stated. "In fact we look through other timelines to ensure we are up to date on advancements…"

"Oh? May I see?" asked Gene.

Gene did all the investigating, he was so taken aback by the advancement he insisted that we obtain some of the technology. "What will you take in trade?" I asked.

The people wanted nothing from us, nor did they wish to share their advancements. I understood completely, you can't have this fall into the wrong hands to say the least. Their elder however did make a counter offer. "You revived our people, how about you take my son and his friends along with you?"

I looked to the son who appeared to be very proud of his existence. His friends were the same way. "That or we will give you ONE piece of our technology"

I looked to Gene, who smiled instantly. "Is your son willing to travel with us along with his friends? If they are, we will welcome them over the single piece of technology that you have kindly offered."

He was stunned.

The elder smirked as he gave a nod to his child.

The son was also smiling greatly as he stepped forward. "Prodigy, reporting for duty!" he said.

I looked to the elder. "He is, isn't he, one in a generation?" I asked.

The elder nodded his head. I have a little knowledge of these people. When one is born that is superior in creating the work of their people, their name is Prodigy right off the cuff. The child he offered us is their best in creation.

"Are we not going to leave you short handed?" Gene asked.

The elder waved off the question. "I may have just returned to life, but I recall my son stating he wanted off this world to see others and learn. We never had the means to do it, we could leave however we are not strong enough to face a serious threat. However, seeing your people. I am confident my son is in good hands"

Gene bowed respectfully, as did I. "We will take care of him and his friends." I vowed.

Since then, Prodigy has worked hard in his own section of the ship. He creates technology that I wouldn't even fathom. He made the device that allows me to keep track of the Brawlers, at the same time, he created others that look into time lines and even a time machine! "You can go back in time for a full five minutes, no more or less." He explained.

"Remarkable…" Gene said with great fascination.

"Now, about those metal guys… they vanished from our radar in this timeline. However, we found them in parallel world 47." He turned on the screen, and the world appeared nothing more than a warzone!

"What is that place?" I asked.

"Earth, someone messed with the damn timeline of this reality and brought this one into it! It's what happened when they removed a few key people from the current time line that brings about this one. It can be fixed!" he insisted.

Much to my relief, the Brawlers did fix it, but that also made me wonder. "If someone can go back and alter time… wait… someone is using alien technology!"

"You just realized that?" Prodigy demanded. "Look, you are a smart guy, but how could you not have seen that was an engine accelerator that altered the time line!? It's how these ships get through various galaxies with ease!"

"I never though a human would know how to work it."

"Human?! That some damn luck that human has, well, someone should keep an eye on it. I wonder who they were messing with…"

I already knew, elder Garou and Melee. Since it took them to fix the time line.

"I need to make a guardian for this."

And I did…

I went back in time to get the materials I needed to create such a guardian.

But let's not go into that for the time being…
