LET'S CHANGE THINGS UP A BIT!

With Christmas approaching, I'm going to try and post a new chapter everyday. Soooooo...I need more ideas! Keep 'em coming!

The twins get the Dragon Riders stuck on the island where dragons have their babies in this story. FictionL0ver11 suggested this to me.

Oh! I almost forgot, this story is told through Hiccup's point of view. The Riders are eighteen (RTTE). This is part one, Enjoy!

(Over 1,000 views on this story collection! Thanks you guys =3)

I have no idea how they did it. Those twins sometimes...

I groaned and placed a hand on my head. Toothless warbled with concern. I gave him a weak smile.

"I'm ok, Bud. Just a little bruised from the crash." I told him. I slowly got up to my feet and looked around. The others were getting up as well, except their dragons were already gone.

"Is everyone alright?" I asked.

Snotlout snorted, "Do we look ok?"

I rolled my eyes. Astrid dusted herself off and then glared at the twins and started charging at them with her axe. I stepped in between them just in time, holding Astrid's arms back.

"LET GO! THEY DESERVE WHAT THEY'RE ABOUT TO GET!" she yelled. The twins both had bored looks on their faces as she kicked and thrashed. The bored faces only made her even more agitated.

"Astrid! Calm down! W-we'll deal with them later...OW!" Astrid twisted my wrist and let go. Shoving her axe onto her back.

"Thanks. I needed that." she said.

"You're very welcome." I said sarcastically.

"How are we going to get out of here?" Fishlegs started pacing back and forth.

"We'll just have to stay here I guess..." I said.

"The dragons aren't going to leave until their done laying their eggs. Hiccup is right. We're going to have to wait." Astrid said.

"And while we're waiting, we can get back at those two!" Snotlout pointed angrily at the twins, who looked more amused than worrying about how to get back. Snotlout growled, "What made you think this was a good idea? This is all your fault!"

"You guys are the ones who fell for the Loki. So it's technically your fault." Tuffnut pointed out.

"You didn't have to, but yet, you did." Ruffnut added.

"Keeping our dragons in the stables and having us go to clean them isn't funny guys." I said, "It's instinct for the dragons to head here to lay their eggs. They're not going to be willing to leave until Snoggletog."

"We fell off our dragons! I almost fell into the water! Freezing cold water!" Snotlout exclaimed.

Tuffnut waved his hand dismissively, "Yeah, yeah, we get it. You can stop scolding us now!"

"Why don't you just fly out with Toothless and get help, Hiccup?" Astrid suggested. I looked at Toothless' tail.

"It's pretty banged up from the crash. I don't think we'd make it." I told her. Then took a look around. Other than Toothless, the other dragons were all on the far side of the island laying their eggs. I turned back to the others.

"We should set up camp for the next two nights." I said, "We should probably find somewhere not to close to the dragons while they're tending their young."

"Good idea." Fishlegs said.

"Toothless, do you think you could catch us some fish?" I asked him. Toothless nodded and headed down to the water.

"While Toothless is collecting food, we can try and find something to start a fire." I said, "Once we get all the materials we need, we should be ok for these next two days."

"Ok, dad." Tuffnut said. Ruffnut snickered behind him. I just rolled my eyes and headed over to the water. If Berk does come looking for us, Toothless could shoot out a signal. That will work.

Toothless walked up to me and laid a pile of fish at my feet. I smiled and gave him a pat.

"Good job, Bud. Let's take it over there." Toothless and I placed the food where everyone disappeared from. I looked over to where the dragons were...I heard some soft croons and roars. I guess the eggs have started to hatch.

"Hiccup!" Astrid ran down to where I was standing, "I found some driftwood! Piles of it!"

"That's great! Toothless caught a whole bunch of fish to eat."

"Where?" Astrid asked.

"It's right here...wait..what?" The fish was gone! I looked at Toothless.

"Toothless...did you just.." Toothless' eyes widened and he shook his head. He gestured toward the group of Terrible Terrors, who were feasting on our food supply.

"Hey!" I yelled. The little dragons looked up and flew away, carrying whater their talons could hold. Astrid frowned.

"There goes our dinner." she sighed. Toothless crooned and nuzzled her hand. She rubbed the black dragon's head and smiled lightly.

"Toothless, do you think you could find anymore?"

Toothless looked up into the sky. It was getting late.

"Ok, Bud. I guess we'll just have nothing for a meal tonight."

Astrid held my hand, "Don't worry, Hiccup. We'll be fine. We can go without food for the night. Besides, someone is ought to find us at some point. Or maybe the dragons will be willing to leave tomorrow knowing that we're here."

"Hopefully they come soon..." I sighed. Astrid laid a hand on my shoulder.

"We're going to be just fine. Come on. Let's get that fire started."

I nodded and followed her to our little camp. She laid the driftwood in a teepee shape and Toothless lit it up. We all sat around the fire to absorb ad much heat we possibly could. At least Astrid brought blankets.

"I can't believe those dumb Terrors stole our meal!" Snotlout muttered.

"They were probably collecting it for their young. You know, to regurgitate..."

"Ew, Fishlegs. We know what they do with the fish." Ruffnut gagged.

Toothless crooned and then rested his head in his paws. He's probably hungry. My stomach growled. Why did I have to think of food...

"Now we're all going to starve!" Snotlout wined

"We'll be fine."I told him, "It's not like we're dying or anything."

"Yeah...dying for food." Tuffnut rolled his eyes. I just shook my head.

"I could go for a Snoggletog turkey." Snotlout said licking his lips.

"A salad." Tuffnut added.

"Soup." Ruffnut said.

"Bread." Fishlegs sighed.

"A cake. I could go for a cake." Astrid said.

"A pie..." I smiled. A nice, hot, warm sweet pie...

The low rumble of everyone's stomachs cut through my thoughts. We all sighed. No meals tonight.

"I guess we should get some rest." Astrid spoke up. Everyone nodded as they laid against a rock or laid on the ground. Once everyone was asleep. I stayed up a bit longer. Astrid scotched up next to me and laid her head on my shoulder.

"You ok?"

"Yeah...I'm just...the twins sometimes!" I tossed the stone I was fiddling with over the hill.

"I know. They can be a real pain."

"Yeah..."

Astrid and I watched the moon slowly rise up into the air. A blissful sigh escaped her lips. I smiled down at her.

"You know, maybe this won't be so bad." I said. She looked up at me.

"And why?" she asked. I blushed. Astrid giggled lightly.

"Don't worry. I feel the same way." she pecked my cheek and sat back down, "If you weren't here and I found out what the twins were doing, they would've been maimed by now."

I laughed softly, "You wouldn't really do that..." Then I thought for a moment, "Would you?"

"Uhmmm.." Astrid tapped her chin.

"Astrid..."

"Ok! I was kidding...partially."

I just shook my head and smiled. Astrid then pulled up her blanket, "I guess we should sleep now..hm?"

"Yeah..I guess so."

"Goodnight." Astrid kissed me once again before falling asleep against me. I smiled and then closed my eyes as well.
