Luz called Amity, Eda, Lilith, King, the Coven Leader's, Tracey, Heather, Kat, and her Mother to the castle. Her father gave her a plan, so she decided to run it by them. Safe to say... they didn't like it.
"Luz, are you insane?!" Tracey asked.
"You can't trust anything that maniac comes up with!" Eda said.
"Luz, did you even think this through?!" Amity asked.
They all kept questioning Luz. Saying that this is too dangerous and she shouldn't have done it. Luz finally had it.
"ENOUGH!"
Everyone looked surprised. Luz has never snapped at anyone like that. She's usually the calm one. Some tried to open their mouths and say something before Luz continued.
"No, shut up! Don't say a damn thing and look at this from my eyes! This is a man that has been hurting my family since before I was born. He has stalked me since I was a baby, he had experiments done on humans, he's killed, Titan knows, how many people-"
"13,547."
"Thank you, Titan. He's killed 13,547 people in a span of forty years! I have been reaching my limit and have been trying to stop him! So yeah, I am going to ask my dead father about what to do, seeing as he's the only one that's fought against him before, he's the only one that can give me any fucking ideas!" She turned her attention to Lilith, "You once told me, 'Sometimes the only solution is hard, but it can keep people safe'. I am trying to keep everyone safe, and I'm at my last damn option! Anyone that has a problem with it can get the hell out of MY castle!"
Luz walked towards the door and sent one last glance at the stunned group.
"Next time you call him a maniac, remember, it's genetic."
Luz slammed the door behind her, leaving the group silent. Luz has never yelled at someone like that. Everyone always thought she was like her mother, caring and kind. It's clear that she also inherited her father's ability to be stern and authoritative when she wants to be. Luz walked into her office and slammed the door close. She sat at her desk, put her head in her hands, and started breathing heavily. She heard the door open and looked up. It was her mother.
"Mija, is everything okay?"
"No, everything is not okay, what am I going to do?" Luz asked.
Camila put a hand on Luz's shoulder and sent her a look that said, I'm here for you.
"Everything will be fine. If this is your fathers plan then that must mean something. He once told me that he never lost a battle in the war with his plans."
Luz chuckled.
"How was dad before the accident?"
"He was the nicest person I've ever meet. It was hard to believe that he killed thousands in a war."
"I wish we could've been a family." Luz said.
"If what you told me is true, then we will be one day." Camila said.
After her and Luz learned about his deteriorating mental health, she couldn't help but remember about the man she loved. Memories have flooded her mind for the last decade; from their first meeting, to their first date, to when Alexander proposed to her. Camila still has a picture of her and Alex on their wedding day, no matter how much she tried to get rid of it, she couldn't. She had it in her nightstand drawer for twenty four years. Then when they read his journal... she remembers that day.
Camila sat on her bed, ready for bed. Earlier that day, Luz brought the journal that used to belong to Alexander. She opened a drawer and pulled out a picture from her and Alexander's wedding day. She ran a hand over the glass that held the picture in place.
"Oh, Alex. Why couldn't you tell me? We would've figured something out; we could've been a family."
She put the picture frame on the nightstand and pulled the covers over her. She looked at the happy newlyweds.
"I don't know if I'll ever be able to fully forgive you, but I do miss you." She kissed two fingers and press them against the picture, "Goodnight, Mi Amor, maybe one day we'll be together again."
Camila was knocked from her memory when the ground started shaking. Luz stood up and held out her hand. Her staff materialized and she walked outside of her office.
"He's coming."
"Are you ready, Mija?" Camila asked.
"Like you said, this is dad's plan. I have nothing to worry about."
I'm going to say this, Luz snapping is by far my favorite part to write.
