Chapter 10: I Feel Grateful
A.N. – Hey guys. I got a review asking about Luke's parents and I don't have anyone in mind yet. I wasn't going to add them into the story but, if you guys wanted a small plotline that involved them, then I'd be happy to add it.
An interesting fact about this story is that I changed two of the characters' names last minute. Alex's original name was Jacob but then I realized that it was too close to Uncle Jake so I changed it. And Parker's name was originally Peter because he was supposed to be Peter Pan and I was going to make it so he and Puck were "enemies" but then I decided not to do that.
I'm open to criticism so feel free to leave some in the reviews.

Sabrina walked into school with Bella. Luke had arrived at school before them because he had volleyball practice. She saw her sister at her locker and said goodbye to Bella.
Sabrina approached her locker, "Hey, Daph."
"Hey. How was last night?"
"It was pretty good. Bella and Luke helped me calm down," Sabrina replied as she opened her locker.
"Puck seemed restless. I think he was waiting for you to come back."
"Yeah, well maybe he shouldn't be so quick to judge next time."
Daphne sighed, "You know he didn't really mean it."
"You shouldn't have to defend him. He should've never said what he said in the first place."
"Bri, it's Puck. He didn't know what he was saying."
"That's his own fault. Daph, I don't want you to ever feel like boys can get away with bad behaviour just because they don't 'know better'. I know you have this expectation that he and I will get married and live happily ever after but that doesn't mean I have to let him treat me like garbage."
"You guys just need to talk about it. Then everything can be fixed."
Sabrina closed her locker, "I'll talk to him. Not today, though. Luke said he has something planned for him, me and Bella to do so I think I'll stay at their house again."
"And you'll come home tomorrow and talk to him?"
"I don't know, Daph. I might stay with Luke and Bella a bit longer. I'm not sure yet."
"Okay. I'll see you later then." Daphne smiled at her sister. Sabrina smiled back and left.
As Daphne went to her class, she felt conflicted. She understood that Puck had been rude but she also really wanted him and Sabrina to be together. She knew she could be naive sometimes but they had such a long and fascinating history. It was so romantic. They needed to make up immediately.

Sabrina sat through her classes and thanked the universe that Bradley wasn't in any of them. She didn't really focus on what her teachers were saying but she wasn't worried. She wouldn't fall behind because she was good at studying when she needed to. As she walked out of class, she wasn't sure where to go. It was lunchtime but she didn't want to go to the cafeteria.
She wondered if Bradley would even be there. She felt so stupid. Why was she letting him affect her like this? She should be able to just go there and chill with her friends. She took a deep breath and made her way towards the cafeteria.
Alex came out just as she was about to go in. He looked at her and smiled, "I was going to go get a slushie. You wanna come?"
Sabrina could help but feel relieved, "Sounds good. Are we walking?"
"Yeah, I was because the weather is pretty good. I drove to school today, though, so we can drive if you want."
Sabrina shook her head, "No. I would love to walk."
The two of them spent the entire lunch period together and Sabrina felt at ease the entire time. She wasn't super close with Alex, like she was with Luke or Bella, but they were still friends. She also had fun when she hung out with him and today had been no different. She was grateful that she was friends with him.

When Sabrina walked into her last class and saw Parker in the seat next to hers looking at her with a weird expression. He normally sat next to her but she didn't like the look he had. It was one of those looks that made her feel like she would end up being annoyed.
"I saw Bradley today."
Sabrina had to stop herself from rolling her eyes, "Okay."
"I almost punched him when I saw him," Parker cockily said.
"Why would you do that?"
"Because I don't like what he did to you. I was gonna punch him for you."
Sabrina felt herself getting annoyed, "I didn't ask you to do that."
"I have to protect you from getting hurt by him again. He shouldn't even be allowed to look at you."
"You don't HAVE to protect me. I don't need protecting from some stupid boy." Sabrina up and stormed out of class. She needed to get away from Parker before she did something she regretted.
She texted the group chat she had with Luke and Bella and told them that she was leaving school early. Luke texted back and said he was already at home. Sabrina laughed. Of course Luke had skipped school.
When she reached their house, Luke was waiting outside. "Let's go to the mall and wait until Bella is free. We can take my car."
Sabrina shrugged, "Sure. Let me just put my bag in the house."
The two teenagers walked around the mall and looked at things they wanted to buy. They didn't end up buying anything because they knew they didn't really need it. They picked up Bella and Luke drove them to the first location of his plan.
Sabrina smiled when they pulled up to a bowling alley. She hadn't been bowling in a while. She couldn't wait to see what else Luke had planned for the afternoon.

After bowling, they played laser tag and then went to eat dinner at a cute little café. Sabrina loved her friends so much. At dinner, Luke talked about volleyball practice and Bella explained how Madison and Daphne managed to convince her to help with the decorations for the dance.
It made Sabrina remember that she was going to take Puck to the dance. She used to be really excited but now she just felt worried. She didn't want them to fight but she didn't want him to think that what he did was acceptable.
Luke looked at Sabrina, "You should go home and talk to Puck. You can't avoid him forever."
"Daphne told me that you said you might stay with us for a couple days," Bella added.
Sabrina tensed up, "Do you not want me to stay?"
Bella shook her head, "No, of course I don't mind you staying. But I don't want to delay the inevitable. You and Puck have to talk eventually."
Luke hummed in agreement. "Why are you so scared? You literally fought in a war. This is just talking to Puck."
Sabrina frowned, "He just came back. I don't want us to fight and it makes him leave again."
Bella sighed, "Brina, even if you and Puck disagree, you guys always respect each other."
"It didn't feel like he respected me the last time we spoke."
"He overreacted but I'm sure at least one person in your family has talked to him. He probably understands what he did wrong."
"I'll go home tomorrow after school."
Luke and Bella both nodded their heads and the three began talking about other things.

As Sabrina laid in bed later that night, she thought about what she would say to Puck. She felt grateful that her friends hadn't allowed her to ignore this problem but she was still scared. Sleep didn't come easy as she kept tossing and turning. She was so nervous. She wondered what Puck was feeling right now. Did he even care that he had hurt her? Questions kept running through her head but after a while she finally fell asleep.

A.N. - I know I don't update as often as I used to and I'm sorry. I don't really have a lot of motivation and I'm wondering if I should abandon or delete this story. I'm trying my best to write though.
