Bella's POV

The Uber dropped me off right in front of the hospital. I knew Carlisle would be there. I got to the front desk and asked to see Dr. Cullen.

"Miss Swan?" A familiar voice asked from behind me. It was the nurse from the other day.

"Hi…, Maggie, right?" I asked.

"Yes." She laughed. "Are you here to see Dr. Cullen?"

"Yea, do you know if he's available?"

"Not at the moment. I can leave him a message if you'd like."

"Um, can you tell him I'll be in the cafeteria please?"

"I can do that. Miss Swan? I know that this isn't my place but are you ok?" There was such concern in her eyes. She looked so trustworthy.

"I just really need to speak to Dr. Cullen."

"He didn't…?" She whispered to me.

"Oh, no, he didn't." I realized that she thought maybe Carlisle did this to me.

"I just want to help, Miss Swan. I'm sorry. I should have known that Dr. Cullen would never do something like that." Then it seemed to dawn on her why I was there.

"Did it happen again?" She again whispered. I couldn't say anything which confirmed what she asked.

"Oh, Miss Swan! Come this way, please." She put her arm around me and lead me down the hall. The door she opened, read Dr. Carlisle Cullen on it.

"Please, sit in here and I will go get him. Do you need some water, or I can get some tea?" Maggie asked.

"No, I'm fine. Thank you so much." Maggie took out a small note pad and a pen. She scribbled something down and handed me the paper.

"If you need anything, please don't hesitate to call. If you need somewhere to stay, someone to talk to, a shoulder to cry on, I'm here for you Miss Swan."

"Then you and please call me Bella."

"I'll go get Dr. Cullen." Then she left the room.

"Dr. Cullen you are needed at the nurses station STAT." I heard Maggie's voice over the speakers of the hospital.

Carlisle's POV

I was just finishing up with wrapping a sprained ankle when I heard-

"Dr. Cullen you are needed at the nurses station STAT." I recognized that this was Maggie over the speaker.

"All right, Mr. Dallas, all wrapped up. Remember to follow up with your PCP and if anything, else happens between now and then come back."

"Thank you." The middle-aged man said then hobbled out of the room. I grabbed his chart and headed to the nurses' station where Maggie was standing there looking concerned. I can smell Bella. I rushed over to her.

"Maggie, what's wrong?"

"It's Bella. She came here looking for you. I started to talk to her and let her know that I was here for her. It happened again."

"What happened again?"

"Remember that last conversation we had about Bella?" Then it clicked.

"Sorry, got to go, wait, here is she?"

"You're office."

"Thanks Maggie."

"I'll cover for you. Please let me know you need me." I heard Maggie said as I rushed off.

Bella's POV

I sat there in Carlisle's office trying to wait patiently. I was trying to figure out just how I was going to tell him. I was also preparing myself to be rejected by him. The door opened and a frantic Carlisle walked in and pulled me into a hug.

"Bella, are you ok?" He asked.

"No." I whispered into his chest. We sat down on the small sofa he had in office. I suspect it's so he could "nap" if needed between patients.

"What happened? What can I do to help?"

"It happened again." I whispered, not keeping eye contact. "I'm sorry, I tried to stop him but he's so much stronger than me. And I understand if you hate me and don't want anything to do with me." By the time I finished that sentence I was crying.

"Is that why you didn't answer any of my calls? Is that why you were crying yesterday?" I nodded yes. I couldn't speak. He reached over and pulled me to him.

"It's not your fault and I love you. Was its Jacob again?"

"Yes. I couldn't fight him, Carlisle."

"I know, my love. It's ok, it wasn't your fault." I know he was trying to keep calm for me, but I could hear a hint of anger in his voice.

"I nee to ask you something, Bella and I know you probably don't want to talk about. I need to know so I can figure out how to proceed. Tell me what he did to you. All of it, please."

"I need to start from the beginning then." He nodded that he was ready. If I was going to tell him what happened, then I needed to start from the first time Jacob hurt me. I told him everything. The rape, the hits, and the broken arm. I could see Carlisle's eyes go from light gold to black the more I told him. After I finished telling him everything, Carlisle held me close to him.

"This is my fault and his. I should have never left you in the first place. Maybe I could have stopped him. I could have protected you from all this. He's the real monster here. Bella, look at me." He said while placing his index finger on my chin, gently pushing me to look at him.

"This is not your fault. I love you. Will you please move in with me? So, I can protect you like I'm supposed to? Will you let me handle this?" He asked. I could tell he meant every word that he said.

"Yes, to all and I love you too."

"I'm sure that I can leave for the day. Let me check first, just wait for me here and then we can get your things and have a talk with the dean, so they know what's going on."

"Alright." I said. Carlisle then got up and kissed me gently on the top of the head.

I sat there on the sofa waiting for Carlisle to return while thinking about the life we could have together.
