Hello everyone! Happy New Years Eve! This will be the last chapter of 2020, and I find it kind of funny that it is chapter 21, and my word, 20 chapters! This is the longest fic that I've done! With this chapter the fic is now at 244 pages, which is...like crazy insane to me. Anyways, random ramble right there. But anyways, I hope and pray that all your 2021's will be fantastic!
Onto the reviews...
SilentAmbiance: Ah yes, as his author I both share your sentiment and am also continually planning for his pain. So, yeah...but anyways, yes, he should be staying in the hospital...but unfortunately the toys arrival is very soon so...well you shall see. :) As for your idea on the children, interesting perspective! They will definitely continue to be in the story and you guys will learn more about them and such. And yes, I also would've brought guns, and a baseball bat, not to mention that I would never be working at night alone. As for running? Oh yes, certainly would've run as well. I can't even imagine being in that situation myself, seriously...as for your perspective on Leo and their relationship, well you are pretty much on the nose. Leo is the kind of guy that hates to admit when he is feeling things, so he is just kind avoiding thinking about how much he has grown attached to the animatronics. The bots pretty much view him as you put it, they are very distrustful of many people, (something you will actually see in this chapter...;) And as for Leo getting friends...? Well you shall see. Happy new year to you as well!
TU4QU0I53T4AN6L3: Ha! Yes he certainly would be! This guy hates the hospital so much...and I haven't actually read the Silver Eyes book, but I have heard things about it, and as for Golden Freddy? We we shall see won't we? :D
I own nothing but my characters.
Chapter 21
New Things...Both Good and Bad.
Leo wanted to scream in frustration the second he stirred at the familiar sound of a heart monitor.
He was furious, he hadn't even been out of the hospital a day before he was once again back here. He was already drowning in debt and now…
Well he didn't quite know.
But he knew it wasn't going to be good.
There was no one by his side this time, not that he expected there to be, just the heart monitor's consistent and rhythmic beeping.
So of course, he was once again left alone with his thoughts.
And reflect upon what the #$#$$$% happened back there.
The children were probably upset that he had refrained from telling them that the toys were coming.
But would that have ended any different if he had told them? Would it have changed the outcome?
Likely not, those kids hated the toys nearly as much as their hosts did.
With a breath, the night guard laid back on the bed putting his wrapped hand to his forehead. Luckily he was on morphine again so the pain was a distant thought. But he hadn't particularly wanted to come back here for many reasons.
One of them being that self-righteous doctor.
To ^%$% with him. What did he know about Leo's life?
Though to be fair, what did Leo know about his own life?
With a groan he shifted on the bed, wincing slightly as the pain exceeded the reach of the morphine for a moment.
You're right you know.
The sudden voice made Leo snap his eyes open and look around, there was no one in there...but he swore he heard someone.
You did.
The guard jumped a bit before taking a breath and rubbing his eyes, ignoring how bulky the finger casts were.
Great, he was hearing voices now, was he really that crazy?
Oh you are, but don't worry, I hear this is normal.
"Oh hear it huh? What the %$#& are you?" He demanded looking around again, there was a chuckle, it sounded a bit crazed and it made him tense up a bit.
Simple! And kind of obvious if you actually paid attention. But that's for you to learn little Leo, it would be no fun if you knew right off the bat. But for now I will tell you that I am something created by trauma, something you've had quite the experience in hmm?
Leo frowned and laid back in the bed again with a huff, and wincing again as his chest ached. "This is stupid, really stupid. People don't just start hearing sassy as %$#$ voices in their head." He countered, his voice echoing in the empty room.
Maybe, but most people also don't shove drugs into their system every chance they get. C'mon, I know you are smart enough to realize that they aren't good for you, and mess with quite a few brain functions...one of them being memory.
The guard couldn't help but roll his eyes, "don't get started. I don't want to hear another speech about how terrible they are for me." He gripped, and that crazed chuckle echoed around him again making Leo tense up.
Oh please! I love them, they make life so much more interesting! There was a sigh from the disembodied voice. I miss selling them, and you can't tell me you don't miss it either!
Leo paused, the beeping that monitored his heart sped up and he sat there quietly for a moment.
"...how do you know that?" He asked quietly, his eyes flickering to the door and watching the blurred images of people pass through the foggy glass window.
...okay, maybe you are stupider than I thought. C'mon short stack, you don't remember me? Has your relief shredded your mind so much?
"Remember you? I don't even remember my parents! Why would I remember a disembodied voice!?" he demanded, the beeping continuing to speed up, he spared a glance at the monitor before taking a deep breath.
Well I wasn't always a disembodied voice, before I didn't really have a voice, or a conscious, but trauma birthed me and here I am! By the way, why did you get rid of my clothes?
"Y...your clothes? What the %$#$ are you talking about?!"
You really have gotten dense. Sheesh, okay, lets see, hm...what would remind...oh yes.
Leo could almost hear the grin in the voice, he swallowed thickly and took a breath.
Ladies and gentlemen! I'm here to present you with something you've never seen before! Something fantastic! Amazing and astounding! Here before you is one of my personal favorites...Foxnip 3000! It will give you the strength of an ox and the confidence of a California lad with shoulder length hair and a surfboard! The voice cleared his throat and hummed. Does that ring a bell little Leo?
Leo's eyes were wide, and he swallowed thickly again, his eyes flickered to the window as if someone was waiting there and listening. Once his paranoia was calmed, he looked down at his hands and took a deep breath.
"Anyone who knows that speech lives three towns over." He whispered and looked around again as if he could find the body that belonged to this voice.
True, hence why you decided to come here after you got out of that wretched place. Though, you kind of landed yourself in a whole other kind of wretched place. Didn't ya?
Leo shifted in his spot wincing and feeling faint, "shut up."
Oh? And what the $ #$ are you going to do to me if I don't? I'M A VOICE LEO, YOU CAN'T HURT ME!
The guard flinched hard at the shout and he took a deep breath.
"This doesn't make sense...this isn't real, this is just a pain induced hallucination...this isn't real..." he muttered taking a deep breath and clenching his fists as much as he could.
You wish it was. But it's not, if you had gotten a simple job working at McDonalds or something, but no, you are an adrenaline junkie...along with being a regular junkie. You just had to pick one of the most dangerous jobs there are.
"I didn't exactly have a choice ya know!" He barked, holding his head, his heartbeat was speeding up again.
Of course you did Leo, we were making big bucks when we were making and selling them, but noooo, someone is too scared of going back to jail.
"Shut up, shut up...SHUT UP!" He yelled….just as the door opened.
Stiffening he looked up at the nurse that stood there wide eyed, he swallowed and gave a grimace of a smile.
"H...hi." he stammered with a little wave, she hesitated before cautiously waving back at him.
Great, no he appeared even crazier than before.
Jamie sat in the manager's office bouncing his leg, he glanced up at the clock and took a deep breath fidgeting more. He had been called in about ten minutes ago with the promise that John would meet him in there. He knew right off the bat that this was going to be about Leo. He had already missed a few days of work, and now he would miss more.
The waiter had heard this from Jack, who looked a lot more uncomfortable than usual. That had immediately made him nervous, and he felt his stomach drop as the cleaner explained that the guard had to be rushed to the hospital. And not long after, he was told to go into the office.
The sound of the door opening behind him made Jamie look, in came a frazzled looking John, he had a stack of papers in hand and his hair looked like it had been run through by his hand many times.
The manager took a seat at his desk and stole a breath putting the papers down, "Fitzgerald." He greeted and Jamie nodded in return.
"You wanted to see me sir?" He asked quietly watching as John looked through the papers on his desk.
"Yes, yes I did." He took a breath and looked up at the red head, "we have a problem, and it's in the shape of our night guard." Jamie swallowed thickly and nodded before taking a deep breath.
"Yes...sir please let me explain, it isn't Leo's fault, he is trying his best to keep everything normal but you know the circumstances-"
He was cut off by John's raised hand, Jamie nodded and pressed his lips together sitting back.
"I am aware of the work that Byrd has done, and I don't have the intention of firing him."
"You...don't?" Jamie couldn't keep the disbelief from his tone.
"No, the animatronics have been working better, and he is still alive...many trips to the hospital but alive the same. Whatever he is doing, it still seems to be working." The manager paused before taking a deep breath, "...I'm tired of filling out missing persons reports and burying our guards out back as well Fitzgerald. I hate going out back, and I hate the supplies room and I hate looking at those # $# on stage." He finished with a huff, his shoulders dropping.
"Then...why don't you report it? Why don't you destroy this place?" Jamie asked slowly, his brows furrowed low.
John let out a breath and rubbed his face tiredly.
"I should, I should just throw in the towel. Get rid of this place all together." He took another breath and shrugged, "but they will just open another location, they will just make more of them." He sets his shoulders and takes another deep breath. "At least here, I can keep an eye on things, watch them, whatever those things are out there. I don't know how we could possibly stop them. Sure, we could destroy them, but I have a feeling that they are much more complicated than we might think." He looked at the permits on the walls of his office, "I'm a terrible person, keeping this place open. Keeping all this a secret. All the lives lost. But all the company would do is fire me and hire someone else, make a new location."
"You don't think that if people found out...that they would stop it?" Jamie asked hesitantly, and the manager gave a rueful smile.
"No. People have a very short memory Jamie. Remember the diner location? People watched as a child got the front of his head eaten off, and they still let their kids come here every day. The incident that happened to your brother? People knew about that too, they did nothing." He then motioned to Jamie, "why don't you say anything? I know Leo has spoken to you, you probably know more than I do. But you haven't said anything, you haven't gone for the police or the government, you haven't printed fliers and gone on the street yelling of the dangers. You kept your mouth shut. Why?"
Jamie felt like he was pushed into a corner, he shifted uncomfortably in his seat, "well...I just...I..."
"Exactly." John finished and Jamie shifted again and took a breath. Turning to the files on the desk, the manager continued, "but anyways, that's not what I brought you in here to talk about. I am hiring another night guard."
The red head blinked sitting there, "to...to replace..."
"No, to help, and fill in when the other is in the hospital, honestly this is something that should've been implemented years ago. I have...realized that this job is very demanding, and maybe with help, Byrd will be able to fare better and stay longer." He explained, and Jamie paused and took a breath.
"But...what if the animatronics don't like the new guy? Someone else would've been sent to their death." He said, brow furrowed, "I guess one way to do it would be to have someone who they know so they can introduce the new person..." he trailed off as he saw John give him a grimace of a smile. He frowned and tensed up, "oh no...nononononono sir, I can't! They don't know me that well! They know Leo and look where he is!" The waiter exclaimed and John took a breath.
"Yes, but you know them better than anyone else. This will just be until Leo comes back, okay?" Then he took another breath, "I will even pay you the night guard shift wage as well. You don't even have to be a waiter, you will be getting paid Leo's wage while you fill in." He offered, but Jamie hesitated fiddling with his hands in his lap.
"No, Leo needs the money, he has got to pay the hospital bills." He said quietly and John nodded.
"Okay, then I can only pay you your waiter wage." At that Jamie nodded and took a breath.
"That's fine." he shifted in his seat, "do you already have someone picked out?" He hoped he would, he didn't want to be surprised tonight by a complete stranger.
"Yes, I do, his name is Enix Johnson." John answered and Jamie couldn't help but blink.
"What kind of name is Enix?"
"The kind that is willing to work here alright? I don't really care where he comes from or what his name is, he is the only one who came after I put out the ad." He exclaimed more aggressively then Jamie expected, so the waiter nodded a bit hurriedly.
"Yes, right...sorry." He muttered before taking a breath, "well I best get back to work so I can go and buy energy drinks for tonight." Jamie got to his feet and went for the door.
"He is just outside, be nice, I want to make sure he stays." The manager said sternly, and Jamie nodded.
"Of course sir." He moved to leave the room.
"Also...the toys are coming tomorrow." There was a level of ominousness to the statement that made Jamie halt. He didn't spare a look back but instead just left the room and took a deep breath.
"Rough talk with the boss huh?" The sudden voice to his left made him jump, he looked and found a man probably only a year or two older then himself standing there. He had dark...blue hair and was darker than Leo, making Jamie feel like a ghost.
"Uh...yeah...and you are?" He asked hesitantly, the man's bright blue eyes stuck out firmly in contrast against him and and their intensity made Jamie feel small.
"My name is Enix, I'm the new night guard." he supplied, and then held out a hand, Jamie shook it and offered a smile.
"I'm Jamie, I'll be standing in for your co-worker until he is able to return to work."
"Ah yes, John told me that he was in the hospital. Job is that rough huh?" He asked and Jamie inhaled a bit, cast his glance to the bots on the stage. He was sure that the animatronics were watching very closely.
"Uh, yeah, you could say that." the redhead took a breath and turned to him. "Maybe you should stick around for the day...just to kinda get a feel of the place before your shift starts?" He offered and Enix looked around before pursing his lips and nodding with a shrug.
"Alright, I don't have anything else to do." Leaning down, the man picked up what looked to be a motorcycle helmet, "do you have any place I can put this?"
Blinking, Jamie nodded, "uh, sure, you can put it in the office." He offered and the new guy nodded before going there. Jamie took that time to glance at the stage and inhale deeply. "Please don't kill him."
All he was met with was their soulless faces, he decided that it was them agreeing with him and not disagreeing.
The waiter/temporary nightguard was cleaning off a table when Cindy came up to him, he looked up at her and raised an eyebrow, but she just presented him the phone.
"It's Leo, he wants to speak with you." She put it on the table and he sighed.
"It's probably about the fact that he is in the hospital." He mumbled more to himself, and Cindy shrugged before walking away.
The waiter stared down at the phone and took a breath before picking it up and taking the guard off hold.
"...uld you please just shut up?" Leo hissed, and Jamie paused for a moment, his brow furrowing.
"Uh, Leo?" He heard a bit of a shuffle which only made him raise an eyebrow.
"Oh Jamie! Good...good, sheesh it took me over two hours to get a %#$# phone around here." The guard took a breath, "I was wondering if you could come and pick me up." His voice got a bit distant as he likely turned a bit from the phone. "This place is awful." He muttered before turning back to the phone.
Jamie hesitated a moment before taking a breath, "Leo...I don't think you leaving the hospital right now is a good idea." he admitted quietly, and there was silence for a long moment.
"What do you mean it isn't a good idea?" Jamie tensed at the lowered pitch of the guard's voice.
Finally he took a breath bolstering his courage, "Leo, your injuries are extensive, and if you come back here then it is just going to get worse each time." Jamie said, keeping a firm edge to his voice. There was silence for a few more moments.
"Jamie. The toys are coming, the bots...they won't like it. Jamie the kids did this to me when they found out. They took over and almost killed me, but then this other animatronic with no eyes showed up, and they stopped and now I'm hearing a voice in my head…oh shut up! Leave the $##$% alone already!" He yelled, and Jamie's brow furrowed deeply.
"Uh...hey Leo, why don't you rest okay? You may have hit your head or something."
"What? No I didn't! I need to be there Jamie!" The waiter had to pull the phone away from his ear as Leo yelled.
"Leo calm down, take this night to rest. ...I will pick you up tomorrow. I don't like it...but you'll have help...so hopefully that will make things go smoother." He took a breath and rubbed his face.
"...what do you mean help?" The waiter's hand froze and he wet his lips before opening his mouth to respond, but then Leo sighed and cursed hard. "You aren't talking about Joey and that stupid Acid are you? Cause trust me, they will be NO help." The guard said pointedly.
The redhead rubbed the back of his neck with a breath, "no, John hired another night-guard. He said he wanted to give you some help. The new guy seems nice, decent, his name is Enix, he-"
"What? %$#%$# %#$ ! I don't need another guard! I-"
"Yes you do Leo! You are in the hospital again! And we both know things are only going to get harder with the toys coming here! You need as much help as you can get! So suck it up and sleep!" Jamie finished with a hard breath, and there were several beats of silence, the waiter felt his insides twist a bit, maybe he shouldn't have shouted…
"%$#$$ $$ $%#%$...fine. But I swear if he is as annoying as those other two $#%$#% I am going to strangle him." The line went dead and Jamie let out a breath putting down the phone.
"Not sure how ya gonna strangle him with your two busted up hands." The waiter grumbled as he put the phone in his apron and continued to clean.
After getting enough energy drinks to last him a lifetime, Jamie pulled up in the parking lot, Enix was already there, leaning against his bike. The waiter took a breath and got out, taking the backpack with him.
The new guard closed the distance between them and flashed a charming grin, "ah Jamie! I got here a bit early." He clapped a hand on Jamie's shoulder, and the redhead blinked and realized something with a bit of an amused grin.
The man was tall, he was at least half a head taller than Jamie. He was going to tower over Leo, and the guard was going to hate that.
"Uh, yeah, I noticed...you know you don't have to right? The cleaners usually finish exactly at midnight so they should be leaving pretty soon."
"Ah, well I guess I'm a bit excited and all, lots of rumors surrounding this place." The man grinned again and Jamie blinked at him like he was insane.
"...yeah, and they are there to warn people away. You shouldn't be excited." He nodded toward the building, "inside there, at night, has been a nightmare for many." The redhead couldn't help but chide him, however the man didn't seem fazed.
"Yeah, I know, John told me a lot already. But I'm a bit of an unashamed adrenaline junkie." He then flashed another grin, and Jamie couldn't help but wonder if Leo felt this strange with him always smiling. "I like to go cage less shark diving." The man admitted, and Jamie looked at him for a few moments before sighing.
Normally he would think the guy is pulling his leg, but honestly, in the short time that he had been around him. Jamie realized that this man was stupid enough to do it.
"Yeah...well this is more dangerous than that. Let's get inside."
The bots hadn't seen the head or high tail of Leo all day, nor had they heard any news, and the anxiety was killing them.
"Foxy stop pacing, Joey said it was bad for your joints." Chica chided watching as the fox paced around the room. He turned and looked at her.
"I don't care what's good for my joints, I just wanna walk, can I walk?" He demanded gruffly, and she held up her hands in surrender.
"Sorry. But don't gripe to me when she gets after you for it." She mumbled putting her hands down, the fox mocked a breath and sat down hard on the table making everything on it wobble, and causing Bonnie to look at him warningly. The fox was half tempted to knock everything off just to irritate the bunny, but he found he didn't have the motivation to do it. Then with a mocked breath he looked down at his paw and hook.
"He...is gonna come back...right?" He voiced the question they were all wondering, and there was silence for a few moments.
But before anyone could answer the door opened, all four got up and looked eagerly toward it. Only to freeze at the sight of Jamie...and someone new.
None of them moved as the two entered, they went back into their still state watching as the two young men walked in.
The new guy was the first to speak, "whoa..." he came forward and all the bots tensed their endoskeletons, Jamie however grabbed his arm stopping him.
"H...hey guys..." he stammered before swallowing, "Leo...Leo is still at the hospital. John...told me to cover for him. T...that's okay right?" He asked, his voice going quiet and pleading at the end.
"So Leo is okay?" Chica demanded, breaking cover and stepping forward. Jamie jumped and put a hand to his chest after making a terrified squeak. And after a few moments he nodded and took a breath.
"Yes, he is." He took another deep breath, "sounded like a sailor over the phone." That part was grumbled. The waiter looked up at her and nodded reassuringly. "He is fine, just...really moody."
"Okay good...now who's this guy?" Bonnie demanded motioning to a very quiet Enix. Jamie paused and swallowed before turning to the new guy.
"Uh, this is Enix...he is going to be co-guarding with Leo." he supplied, looking over all of them quickly. Enix seemed to snap out of his trance at the sound of his name and took a breath.
"$#%$# %$%$ you guys actually move." He muttered in an astounded voice. The bots looked at each other before Bonnie crossed his arms.
"We can do a lot more than move." He growled with narrowed eyes and ears pulled back. Jamie swallowed thickly and rubbed his hands together.
"So...uh, what do you guys usually do at night?" He asked, trying to will the tension away.
"We hang out with Leo." Freddy said shortly, and Jamie took a deep breath.
"What kind of things do you do when you hang out with Leo?" He tried again, praying that at least one of them wouldn't be difficult.
That wasn't going to happen.
Foxy was the first to come over, and Jamie inhaled sharply pulling away and pulling Enix back with him. But the fox was faster then Jamie's steps and soon was face to face with Enix.
To his credit, the man did look intimidated, but held his ground.
"Why should we trust ya, eh? For all we know ya can be just like him." He finished lowly, and Enix's brow furrowed deeply while Jamie fidgeted with his hands close to his chest.
"Yeah! We don't know him! I don't like him!" Chica protested and Jamie opened his mouth to interject.
Only to be cut off by Freddy as the bear stepped forward, glaring down Enix who couldn't help but laugh a bit nervously, "why should we trust him? Why do we need him?" The bear demanded and Jamie looked between them all, and could easily see the anger and distrust rising up in all of them.
Foxy was growing closer to a more and more nervous Enix, and Jamie swallowed hard before jumping between the two and putting his arms out to the side defensively.
"Hold up! Hold up! Is this how Leo would want you to act? You aren't for killing the guards anymore right!? Just because he is gone doesn't mean that you should go about doing it again! How do you think he would feel when he comes back tomorrow only to find that you guys killed another one!?" He demanded, looking up and past Foxy to all of them.
There was silence for several beats.
"...he wouldn't like it." Chica conceded.
"Exactly! Whether it was the children or not, he is in the hospital right now recovering from injuries that you guys gave him! Do you think he needs the added stress of another life lost on his mind?" he took deep breaths, his heart was thundering in his chest, and he was beading sweat.
These guys were terrifying.
"Jamie is right. We should be...decent to the new guard." Freddy finally admitted, though he didn't look particularly happy about it. The look in his, and the other's eyes disturbed Jamie greatly.
However he would take a win where he could get it.
Foxy stepped back slowly but his eye was still on them.
"Heh...heh..." The man behind him trailed, and Jamie looked at him before swallowing.
"Uh, you alright there?" He asked slowly, the man looked a bit ashen, and Jamie bit his lip with a breath. "Look...why don't we go into the office, okay?" All he got was a nod from the guy, he looked back at the animatronics, "uh, if you guys need anything, you know where to get us." With that, the waiter took the new guard to the back room and sat him down in the chair.
It felt weird to be in here without Leo grumbling about something or smoking, and Jamie had to remind himself that he was only in the hospital and that he was coming back.
"So...yeah...John probably didn't tell you everything then?" The waiter asked finally, leaning back against the wall. Enix let out a deep breath, hands clenched in his lap.
"Yeah, the uh...we didn't talk about the murder part." He explained and Jamie nodded with a breath.
"Yeah, I figured as much." The waiter pushed himself off the wall and grabbed the tablet, he had never used it himself, but he'd seen Leo do it enough times.
The bots were sitting in the main room, probably talking, but it was too far away to hear normally, and there was no audio on the cameras. With a breath he put down the tablet and turned to the man who seemed to be trying to regain his courage. "You know...you don't have to stay, you wouldn't be the first guy who left. The bots won't stop you, and I won't either. It's okay." He assured, only to blink as the man shook his hand, clenching his fists.
"No, no, I'm staying." He said firmly, and Jamie stared at him for a few moments.
"What? Why would you..." frowning he huffed a breath, "oh geez, don't tell me you need the money to. Honestly, there are less dangerous jobs where you can-"
"No. No, I want to stay." He said firmly, causing Jamie to narrow his eyes a bit.
"Why? Why on earth would you want to stay here?" He demanded, and taking a breath, Enix sat back in his seat.
"The second location, the one that closed down...I was there...every friday. My father was on the janitorial staff, hated the job, and said the animatronics were creepy...but I loved it there." He took a breath and looked up at Jamie who calmed a bit to listen. "You're Fitzgerald right?" Blinking Jamie nodded, and Enix cracked a bit of a smile. "I saw him there, Jeremy, your brother." Slowly the waiter lowered his crossed arms, "I was in my mid-teens. Most other kids were off doing who knows what at malls and such...but I was there, every friday. I thought they were so cool. The way they moved, how they got them to speak, I just...I thought they were great."
"The toys you mean." Jamie supplied, quieting his voice and glancing to the door as if the others would hear.
"Both actually. I only got to see these guys once, I had a few coins and they rolled down the hall. I guess they left the parts and services room open or something. That's when I saw them...I saw them move. Which...in and of itself wasn't that surprising, but...they were...scared. Bonnie...he had no face, no right arm either. Chica had no hands...and I donno, they just...seemed so...human." He whispered the last part as if it was some sacred secret.
"Okay...but you seemed surprised when they moved?" The question caused Enix to let out a bit of a laugh.
"It was only for a second, before my dad caught me and brought me back to the main room." He paused and pursed his lips, "I love my parents to death, but they thought I was crazy." he shook his head with a breath, "I went to so many therapists James." The waiter blinked at the nickname, "so, I guess a part of me stopped believing it as well." Enix looked up at him again, "and then I saw the ad...and I guess I just had to find out for myself." He finished with a shrug, and slowly Jamie nodded.
"I...I think I get it." The waiter took a breath, "but still...I don't think you should stay, the other guard, Leo...he is in the hospital right now. He can barely use either of his hands, and his leg is busted up, along with a series of other injuries I don't know about." He took another breath and rubbed his face, "my point is-"
He was cut off by the phone at the table before them ringing, both of their attention was drawn to it, and he paused before shrugging, "it's probably Leo, maybe he can talk some sense into you." He went over and picked up the phone to put it to his ear.
Only to lower it when a voice came from the speaker.
"Hello, hello?"
So...a lot was introduced in this chapter huh...?
With a new character and a disembodied voice it was certainly a change! This is only the beginning for Leo and his new...friend. As for Enix, he will become a permanent character from now on!
This chapter had a lot about Jamie, I'm curious about what you guys think of him, haven't checked in with the opinions on our redheaded waiter in awhile. Also, what do you think of this new development with Leo? And more information about his past was revealed! Leo isn't as clean as he would like people to believe him to be, how do you think this new deployment will affect our resident night guard? Do you think him and Enix will get along? The man already has the height difference working against him, what do you think the animatronics will think of him going forward? Are you excited for the toys? (Also for those of you hoping for Leo to deal with the kids, it will come I promise.)
I'd love to hear what you think!
Happy New Year Everyone!
