Chapter 9: Cold Offer

"Wow…" Izuku said as he saw Tamaki's hand turn into a cow hoof, note book in hand. "Your quirk is amazing. Have you tried it out on something that isn't food?"

"Hm…" Tamaki said in embarrassment as his hand returned to normal. "Like… what?"

"I mean, if you were to eat a rock, would you gain a shell of stone?" Izuku asked as he showed his notes. "It would provide some defense, but it would help in any situation. And image if it works! Because if it does, then you could eat something like steel or diamond and get stronger defense…"

"Hey, hey, Izuku." Nejire said as she got really close to him, making him blush a bit while Tamaki recoiled into his metaphorical shell. "We are telling you about our quirks, but what about yours?"

Izuku went stiff.

"Oh… my quirk…" He said nervously as he closed his note book. "I… am quirkless…"

"Hm?" Mirio hummed. "But you told me you were working out to help your body handle your quirk?"

"Hm…" Izuku said as he looked away. "I want to be a private investigator. But, with the super-human world we live in, I decided to train so I could achieve that dream. And so, when I saw you wanting to talk to me, I lied and said I had a quirk."

Although Izuku was lying, he meant some of it.

After the incident with Katsuki, he changed his dream of being a hero to being a freelance investigator.

"Oh, that's cool." Nejire said happily. "A Quirkless Investigator that can keep up with a villain sounds like an amazing underdog story!"

"You… think so?" Izuku asked as he scratched his head.

"Of course." Tamaki stated shyly. "Because you don't need a quirk to get a superhuman physique or intellect. And since you are smart, figuring out crimes seems like it would suit you best."

Mirio put his hand on Izuku's shoulder.

"And…" Mirio started to say before he stopped, confusion on his and Izuku's faces.

Glitch.

Shworp.

"All Might…" A young man said as he looked down the number one Hero.

"ALL FOR ONE!" All Might shouted as he lunged forward, not seeing a bubble with a star on it pop against his side.

Izuku and Mirio stepped away from each other.

'What was that?' Izuku and Mirio thought.

'That was the Boss's voice.' Izuku thought as he stared at Mirio.

'That was All Might.' Mirio thought as he looked at Izuku.

"Hey, what's going on?" Nejire asked as she stepped in between the two boys. "You guys wigged out for a second."

"Nothing, just static shocked." Izuku said with a nervous laugh.

"Yeah, nothing else." Mirio responded with a laugh.

'This has to have a deeper meaning.' Izuku and Mirio thought. 'I need to talk to All Might/The Boss about this.'

Meanwhile, UA High School…

"I am so happy you decided to come work here, Law." Chiyo Shuzenji, AKA Recovery Girl, said to her grandson.

"It was no big trouble, granny." Law replied as he looked down as his tiny grandmother. "Besides, I am the one who helped seal the big guy's wound, so it would be better if both of us were here."

Chiyo smiled proudly.

Her own daughter didn't seek to become a hero, her quirk wasn't suited for it. But her grandson loved heroes, and actively sought to be like her, a hero who heals.

"Speaking of, where is All Might?" Law asked as he looked around.

"Oh, he is off in his office, getting ready for the new school year." Chiyo replied as she sat down. "He won't start until the new semester, but is getting himself situated and use to being a teacher."

"Okay, I need to talk to him." Law said as he smiled warmly. "Where is his office?"

After Chiyo gave him directions, Law walked out.

His face became serious as he started to walk towards All Might's office.

'It has been over three months now.' Law thought as he remembered Izuku and Toga. 'And the feeling I have had since then hasn't gone away. I need to tell All Might about this.'

Upon arriving, Law knocked on the office door.

"Come in."

Law opened the door.

"Long time no see, All Might." Law said smugly as he entered.

"Young Law?" All Might said in surprise. "Good to see you again! You want some tea?"

"I'm alright, I am just here to get use to my alma mater again since I graduated." Law laughed. "I mean, I am the new nurse, so of course I need to refamiliarize myself. But that isn't why I am here."

All Might heard the seriousness in Law's voice and sat down.

"Please, take a seat." He stated.

Law shut the door and sat down.

"Roughly three months ago…" Law said as he looked into All Might's eyes. "I found a boy, sick, outside my office. Upon taking him in for treatment, I believe I found something interesting."

All Might stayed quiet as he paid attention to Law.

"His brain chemistry had been changed. He has a quirk." Law continued. "And I recognized the imprinting left behind by All for One."

All Might's weathered eyes widened.

"You can't mean…" All Might said as he stood up, slowly entering Muscle Form with steam rising from his body.

"Yes, it seems he wasn't defeated." Law said somberly as he watched All Might. "And now he has a young man under him."

"Law, can you give us the details of what he looked like?" All Might asked in a deep, slow tone that was full of withheld anger.

"Yes, he had green hair, green eyes, freckles, and was over all very plain looking." Law said as he recalled what Izuku looked like. "I should have gotten a picture, but his friend was there and I didn't want to act in an unprofessional manner."

"I understand." All Might said as he powered down. "Did you get a name?"

"No." Law said as he leaned into his hands. "Some hero I am."

"No, you were worried about a patient, that is not cause for you to be angry at yourself." All Might said as he patted Law on the back. "We just need to be wary of him. If he has a quirk now, thanks to All for One, then we will make sure to find him. You can watch the gate to see if he tries to enter the Entrance exam in a few months."

"Good idea." Law said as he stood up. "Let's go let Principle Nezu know."

Skip…

Izuku waved good bye to Mirio, Nejire, and Tamaki as he walked away from the beach.

'That was fun.' Izuku thought with a smile. 'I'm glad I was able to lie about me not having a quirk, but I do feel bad about it. I mean, sure, I got their quirk info, but this doesn't feel right.'

Izuku shook his head.

'I am a villain, so I can't get hung up on this shit.' Izuku thought before slapping his cheeks. 'Now, I need to call the Boss.'

Izuku called the bar.

"Hello, Young Midoriya, what do you need?" Kurogiri asked as he answered the phone.

"Hey, Kuro, can you connect me to the boss?" Izuku asked as he stopped at a stop light.

Kurogiri didn't respond, but the sound Izuku heard let him know he was being connected to All for One.

"What is it, Young Midoriya?" All for One asked as the sound cleared.

"Boss, just a few minutes ago, something strange happened." Izuku said as he looked around.

"What happened?"

"Well, a friend of mine touched me, and for a few seconds, I think I saw a memory." Izuku explained as he started to cross the street. "I heard your voice and saw All Might. You guys were fighting and I saw a Plunder Bubble pop against All Might's torso before the vision ended."

Silence.

"Boss?"

"Young Midoriya, are you willing to listen to my past, about my Quirk, and about All Might's quirk?" All for One asked, making Izuku's eyes widen.

"Tell me." Izuku said as he walked in silence, listening to everything All for One said.

A few Hours later…

"All Might, I have a request." Mirio said as he and All Might jogged together.

"What is it, Young Togata?" All Might, in his normal form, asked as he jogged.

"Your injury…" Mirio said carefully, getting a raised eyebrow from All Might. "Was it caused by a villain who could use bubbles?"

All Might stopped dead in his tracks.

"All Might?" Mirio asked in concern as he stopped and looked at his second mentor.

"Young Togata, why do you want to know this?" All Might asked carefully, remembering his talk with Law earlier.

"Well, earlier, I was with a friend of mine, and when I touched his shoulder, I saw and heard you fighting a villain… All for One?" Mirio stated.

All Might's eyes widened and his fists clenched as he entered Muscle Form.

"Who was this friend? What is his name and what does he look like?" All Might demanded as he grabbed Mirio's shoulders.

"Izuku Midoriya…" Mirio said as he pushed All Might's hands off of him. "And why do you want to know? He is just a friend of mine."

All Might took a deep breathe and powered down, sitting on a bench.

"Sit, young Togata." All Might said as he tapped the bench. "I have a story to tell you. The Origin of One for All."

Skip…

"Damn it…" Toga stated in frustration as she threw her hands up in the air. "I hate exams!"

It had been over one month since their first mission, and they had not done any since because All for One stated they needed to pass their school exams, promising to 'help' them in getting more missions once they get into high school.

"I know, but relax." Bruno said as he sat at the table with both Izuku and Toga. "We only have four more days until exams and then after that we can go on our next mission."

Toga groaned with a pout on her face.

'Stupid exams…' She thought, before a light bulb went off on her head. "Hey, Izu-baby, if I do good on the exams, can we go on a date?"

Izuku went red.

"A-a-a-a-a-a date?" He asked nervously as he started to hyper focus on studying.

"Yeah, silly~" Toga chirped with a big smile.

Izuku nodded his head.

"YAY!" Toga declared happily as Bruno sighed with a smile.

*KNOCK, KNOCK*

"I'll get it." Toga said as she stood up and ran to the door. "Hello…. Oh…."

"Oh, uhm…" Hisashi said as he saw Toga. "You're Himiko, right?"

"Hey, Izu, your dad's here!" Toga called out as she turned her head.

Izuku face palmed.

'Shit, I forgot that I was going to have lunch with him today.' Izuku thought as he looked at Bruno. "I'll be gone for a while. You want something?"

"No, I am good." Bruno said as he closed his note book. "I'll make a pizza for Toga and I."

"YAY, PIZZA!" Toga cheered. "Also, enjoy your lunch, Izu."

Toga pulled Izuku down and kissed his cheek.

"Alright, I'll be back in a few hours." Izuku said with a red face as he left with Hisashi, who was smirking. "What?"

"So, she your girlfriend?" Hisashi asked as he nudged his son.

Izuku's didn't respond verbally, but sent an embarrassed glare from to his dad.

"Anyway, you know what high school you want to go to, Izuku?" Hisashi said as they got into his car. "I mean, you could still go to UA for the General Ed course."

"I know, but I have a better place in mind." Izuku stated as he looked out the window. 'Hm…'

Time seemed to slow down as he saw Bakugo walking down the street with a notebook in his hand.

Izuku flashed a dark grin before it vanished with Bakugo leaving his vision.

'I have an idea…' Izuku thought as he and his dad got out for lunch.

Skip…

"You can't attack UA on the day of the Entrance Exam." All for One stated.

"What!" Izuku said in the bathroom of the food court he and Hisashi were at. "Why can't we?"

"Think, Young Midoriya." One for All stated, not in the mood to deal with childish games. "The exam will be full of pro heroes, and with us not having a full legion of comrades yet, it would be suicide."

Izuku frowned.

"But, what if…" Izuku started to say before the door opened and another guy entered the bathroom to take a piss.

"Shit, I got to call you back." Izuku stated before he hung up.

Kamino…

"Little bastard hung up on me!" All for One shouted as he slammed his hand against his chair arm.

He sighed before he could get any angrier before he leaned into his hand.

'Hm, we could attack, but I am not in to much of a hurry to kill All Might.' All for One thought as he remembered his oldest friend. 'Yoshikage, what would you have suggested in a time like this?'

With Izuku…

"So, when am I going to meet Toga?" Hisashi asked Izuku when his son returned from the bathroom.

Izuku blinked.

"How do you know Toga?" Izuku asked as he sat down.

Hisashi smiled as he chuckled.

"Inko sent me photos of the two of you when you were children, Izuku." Hisashi said as he pulled out his phone and showed a few pictures of child Izuku and Toga together. "Is she your girlfriend?"

Izuku thought about it.

'Well, we do bite each other, and she drinks my blood…' Izuku thought before he nodded. "Yeah, I could say that we are, but I haven't gotten around to asking her out yet."

Hisashi smiled in relaxation.

"I'm happy for you, Izuku." He said as their food arrived. "Let me know how that plays out."

That Evening, Execution Squad HQ…

Toga punched a punching bag with Trish watching her.

"Something bothering you?" Trish asked her friend as Toga paused, covered in sweat with a sickly-sweet smile on her face.

"Not bothering, just happy." She giggled at Trish's confusion. "Izu-baby said that if I pass the exams next week, I'll get a date with him!"

Trish blinked.

"Oh, that is interesting, both the concept and how you got that goof to accept." Trish admitted.

"Oh, and how about you and Bruno?" Toga asked, making Trish become red with surprised eyes. "I you can't hide it from me, Senpai~ I see how you look at him."

"uh… NO COMMENT!" Trish shouted as she punched the punching bag.

'I know they are going to be a cute couple.' Toga thought as she giggled.

Meanwhile…

Shoto Todoroki walked down the street.

He wore casual clothing and was ignoring everything around him.

Todoroki was on his way home from school, which was about to have finals in the next week, so he stayed late to do his homework, knowing his father would make him train once he got home.

He gripped his hands at the thought of his father, Endeavor.

Before any teen angst could occur, there was an explosion nearby.

"KAWABONGA!"

"DAMN IT SNAP!"

Todoroki turned and saw Snap and Zippy Fingers in a giant bubble, the bubble user laughing with his synthesized voice.

"Woah, that was a big explosion." Snap stated as he calmed down, a giant briefcase in his hand as the bubble popped and they landed on the ground. "Okay lets…"

A large amount of ice shot towards them at a blinding speed, making Zippy and Snap dodge.

"So, these are members of the new villain group running around." Todoroki stated, his right hand out as his body emitted the cold temperature.

"Hey, that guy looks familiar." Snap said as he noticed the red hair and blue eye on Todoroki's left, the white hair and gray eye on his right. "Red hair, blue eye… would you be Endeavor's kid?"

Todoroki's anger hit maximum capacity.

"Don't you dare…" Todoroki growled as more ice rained down upon Snap and Zippy. "DON'T YOU DARE COMPARE ME TO THAT SCUMBAG!"

"BUBBLE SLICER!" Snap shouted, sending a dozen spinning bubbles out to cut the ice.

Zippy Finger didn't offensively attack, but punched the ground and unzipped it to provide protection to him and Snap against the ice Snap missed.

Todoroki took deep breathes, having expelled copious amounts of energy to attack them.

Even though he is officially a civilian, being the son of the Number 2 Hero would allow some amnesty from the police, given that Enji Todoroki would be able to pay the authorities any amount to help Shoto stay on the good side of the law.

'Shit.' Todoroki thought as he saw the large icicle he created. 'I should thaw…'

A large zipper trail appeared and opened to reveal Snap and Zippy, both having an arm pulled back.

Todoroki raised his left arm, once in defensive position, it was set ablaze.

'What?' He thought as he realized what he did.

'So, he is Endeavor's kid.' Zippy and Snap thought as they both punched Todoroki in the face.

Todoroki was lifted off the ground.

"Bubble Launcher!" Snap shouted, clapping his hands and then launching said attach to keep him in the air.

"Zipper Rush!" Zippy stated as he jumped into the air, punching Todoroki's arm. "ARI!"

He hit Todoroki's right arm.

"ARI, ARI, ARI!"

He punched and unzipped Todoroki's limbs, and lastly his head, catching it as the torso and limbs fell.

"How?" Todoroki asked as he could not feel his body but knew he was still alive.

"Don't worry my friend." Snap said as he took Todoroki's head in his hands. "Hm, you got a lot of anger in you."

Todoroki snarled.

"Ha, I guess towards your old man?" Snap asked.

No response.

"Well, I'll get to the point." Snap said as he put Todoroki's head on a trash can and reconnected Todoroki's body with Zippy. "If you want him dead, just ask us. In return, you join the Execution Squad as our newest member."

Todoroki's eyes widened.

'Join the Execution Squad?' Todoroki thought as he watched Zippy and Snap escape with the brief case. 'No, I want… but…'

An image of his mother, calling her mom, in the kitchen, a boiling tea pot on the stove.

He remembered that she said she could barely stand the sight of him, before turning with an intense look of fear in her eyes before she grabbed the tea pot and threw the water over his left side, burning his face.

If Todoroki could, his fists would have been clenched, a dark look in his eyes as he waited for someone to find him, stewing in his rage.

I know this year has been stressful, and I have done what I can to help ease some of tha stress with my stories, and while I know this one isn't one of my top favorites for everyone, I just wanted to let you know I won't be stopping anytime soon.
