Auteur note: I'm posting this chapter a bit erlear than planned because today is Christmas! To all of you who are reading my story: Merry Christmas!
Eve looked around in the cave. The entire place was lit up by small lightbulbs on the walls. "He Lulu... Are there any humans out here... I mean... There are lights strapped to the walls. The only ones who could have done that are humans." Lulu looked towards the small lightbulbs. "Yes... well... they were down here. But they all left days ago... but I have not seen them since. The light are really annoying though. Many of the zubat that life here left because of them and Lulu has no idea how to turn them off." Eve stopped walking and looked at the lights. (Didn't something similar happen in the anime?) Her eyes followed the election lines to find the source. (Maybe I can turn them off...?) Eve closed her eyes and focused on the lightbulbs and the electricity flowing through it. She imagined all the lights going out all at ones.
Eve, Ryan, Nina and Lulu jumped when suddenly all the lights in the cave exploded. Enfolding the cave in total darkness. Lulu looked around in a panic. "What happened!"
Eve stepped back and her eyes widened in shock. (That was not supposed to happen! I wanted to dim the lights not make them explode!) For a moment Eve felt dreadful. The ground around them shook a little bit. Ryan immediately turned around and saw Eve gasping for air. "Something wrong kid?" When Eve heard Ryan call out to her she snapped back to reality. The ground stopped shaking and the awful feeling disappeared. Still bent over Eve held up her paw. "I'm fine... I'm fine..." Ryan ran towards her. "What happened kid? Are you feeling sick?" Eve put on a fake smile and waved it off. "I'm okay. I think that I lost control of my psychic powers for a second." Ryan sighed and looked around. "Well that would explain why the lights suddenly exploded. It's strange of you to lose control like that." Eve sheepishly rubbed the back of her head. "Yeh it is... Maybe I should start meditating or something to improve my control." Lulu called out from the distance. "Are you guys coming?" Eve picked up Ryan and few towards Lulu. Nina looked up from out of the backpack. "Eve..."
[Cerulean City]
Mary looked triumphantly at the screen before her. To be more precise, the Kanto region map with a glowing dot located om Mt. Moon. Mary looked horrible. Her hair was all messed up and she looked like she hasn't slept in days. A large smile was visible on her face as she laughed in victory. "It works! The program works! Ha... hahaha. FINALLY! Now that stupid interference will no longer interfere." She grabbed a black walkietalkie from her belt. *click* "Mister Blight do you copy?" There was a small moment of silence before a single sentence was heard trough the walkietalkie. "Tell me you have good news..." Mary had to do her best not to sound to overjoyed. "Sir, the interference is gone. I have located the target. It is near Mt. Moon."
Mary waited patiently for her superior to reply. She swore that she heard a small laugh on the other side. "Well done Mary. Ones we have a visual on the target, I will inform Giovanni of our progress." Mary put down the walkietalkie and grinned with pride. She grabbed her tablet and sent the data over to mister Blight.
Outside Victoria was leaning against the tent's wall. She overheard the conversation between Mary and Blight. Victoria bit on her fingernail in frustration. Even in the distance one could see her dangerous and cold yellow eyes filled with anger. She hated that Mary was stealing all the glory. She muttered softly. "Enjoy it while you can you little brat."
[Back to Eve, Ryan, Nina and Lulu.]
Eve covered her eyes from the light when they stepped into the open. There were almost 50 clefairy's and clefa present. They were within the center of the mountain. In the center of the open area was a large crater and there were all kinds of small crystals peeking out from the rocks. Because the light could shine through the hole there were all kinds of plants growing on the walls and ground. In the center right beneath the hole to the sky was a large almost silver like rock. The clefa and clefairy's were gathered chatting and laughing around it.
Lulu lifted up her paw and started waving. "He guys. We have some friends who have come to visit!" All of the clefairy's and clefa looked around and they started cheering at the same time. "friends!" Eve blushed a little bit as she sheepishly rubbed the back of her head while waving back. "Hello..."
It really looked like a party. Everyone was having fun and some larger rocks were decorated to function as tables, serving round leaves filled with water and flat leaves plated with berries and other edibles. Eve was a bit surprised by this. (I didn't realize Pokémon were so much like humans.) Some of the younger clefa walked over and looked at Eve in awe. Probably because they had never seen a Pokémon like her. (Makes sense since as far as I know, the only mewtwo's in existence is me and the original Mewtwo.) Eve nervously smiled and waved at them. Ryan walked over to Lulu. They had a lot of catching up to do. Nina was enjoying the party from inside the backpack.
The clefa and clefairy's were all really nice. A lot of them flocked towards Eve and offered her water and berries. Eve politely declined them. "No thank you... I'm not really hungry." Eve felt really bad as the clefairy's walked away with a sad expression on their faces. Eve sighed. (I'm not really good with large crowds. It always makes me feel nervous.)
5 of the young clefa were playing games. Something along the line of hide and seek. Eve giggled when she saw the tiny fairy Pokémon roll over the ground as if they were pretending to be ninjas. (How cute.) When they noticed that Eve was looking at them they all signed at Eve to join them. Eve shook her head not wanting to play a silly game with children. (I'm 13 already... I'm too old to play games.)
The clefa children looked at Eve with the biggest and cutest eyes they could. Saying all together. "Please..." Eve tried her best not to smile as she looked away. (How can I say no to this! Cuteness is my weakness...) She sighed at grinned at them. "Oké! What game do we play first." The children's eyes lit up with sparkles as there smiles grew bigger. "Yeeeeeh!" Nina was peeking envious out of the back. She wanted to join them but was to scared too leave the safe haven of the backpack.
Eve played a game of hide and seek with the clefa children. The first one who played 'it' was Eve. For her, finding the small clefa was not that difficult because she could sense them from a mile away. Eve smiled sheepishly when she thought. (Use the force young Skywalker...Haha.)
Then the clefa had to find her. The 5 small Pokémon were running around looking for Eve. Their parents were keeping a close eye on them in the process. Eve let out a high pithed giggled from her hiding spot. (If I was good at one thing back on earth it was hide and seek. They will never find me!) Eve was hiding in between a moss covered rock. She was surprised herself that she could actually fit inside it. (What can I say... cats are liquid. If it fits I sits!) Eve giggled again. (Wow... I'm in such a good mood. It sure has been a long time ago since I actually played games like this. I always considered myself to be 'to old' for these kind of things. Yet... They're so much fun! I really missed this.) Eve closed her eyes and smiled. Remembering the time that she and Rose would play hide and seek together like this. She remembered that she, Rose and a good friend of them played like this for hours. Her smile turned into a frown when she realized that she could not remember what her friend looked like... not even her name... (Strange... We used to play so much together... How can I just forget...)
Eve's thoughts were interrupted when one of the clefa children yelled. " Clefa found her, Clefa found her. Eve is over here!" All of the clefa children came running towards her cheering. Eve laughed and came out of her hiding spot. "Looks like you found me."
Ryan approached Eve with a smile. "It's nice to see you act more like your age kid." Eve glared at Ryan. "My age... pfff right, I'm 13 not 5!" Ryan laughed out loud and shook his head. "Kid... 13 years old is still a kid. You even look younger than 13. What I'm trying to say is that it is oké to behave like a child. That's what being young is all ab..." Ryan stopped mid sentence when she noticed that Eve was no longer paying attention.
Eve yawned as she stared into the distance. (Why do I feel so tired? Well... I didn't sleep at all last night.) Ryan picked up on this. "He kid, I know that you didn't sleep well last night. Maybe you should take a short nap." Eve nodded slowly. *yawn* "Maybe you're right Ryan... I really do feel tired." Lulu stepped forward when she heard this. "If you want a good place to take a nap. Lulu can take you!" Eve smiled and yawned again.
Lulu showed Eve a place not too far from the open area that was perfect for sleeping. The ground was covered in a thick soft green moss that looked so much more comfortable than the stone ground. With a sigh Eve let herself fall into the soft moss and she curled up into a ball. Both Ryan and Lulu were surprised that Eve fell asleep almost immediately. "Wow... She must have been really tired."
Eve was dreaming about the same lake again. Only this time she was floating in the middle of the lake. She looked down into the crystal clear water that was so blue it almost didn't look real. As usual she was still a mewtwo. Eve looked around to see if there was anything different from last time. Around Eve as nothing but darkness. (Still the same as always... Only this time no one is watching me.)
Suddenly Eve heard a very familiar voice. "Are you sure about that!" Eve turned around as fast as she could. She gasped when she saw that the voice belonged to herself. Behind her stood the human version of herself looking at Eve with an angry glare.
"Ow... Look who finely noticed me. Here I thought you forgot all about me." Eve's eyes widened in terror. "W... Who are you?! Why do you look like... me?" The human Eve lifted her eyebrow in a nasty way. "Have you forgotten about me already!" Human Eve narrowed her eyes. "I am you... Or at least before you died and became this... Thing!"
Eve turned away from her human self. "Go away... You're not real... You're just a fragment of my imagination. This is all just a dream." Human Eve smirked cruelly. "Is it though... How do you know that I'm not real... after all you woke up in a Pokémon universe after you died. Like that's realistic." Eve closed her eyes and shook her head. "Leave me alone!" Human Eve's eyes turned really dark and cold. "Leave you alone uh! Just look at you. Pathetic! You have accepted it so easily that you're no longer human. No... You're not a human... You're a monster... a science experiment." Eve's eyes shot open in rage as she turned around screaming. "I am not a monster! I'm still human... Just not..."
Eve stopped mid sentence when she noticed that the human Eve was no longer there. She felt a shiver rolling down her spine when human Eve whispered in her ear form behind. "Yes you are... you know that Mewtwo was created by humans. Who is to say you're any different. Ones they find you... Who knows what they will do to you... If you ask me... You are not Eve... You're just a freak." Tears started rolling from Eve's eyes. "You're wrong! I'm still Eve... I may have become a Pokémon but I'm still human at heart... I'm not a freak or an experiment!" The voice laughed as Eve turned around to face herself but human Eve was nowhere to be found. Then the voice echoed all around her. "You have accepted that you are no long human... Yet you're so afraid of it. Especially your own power!" Eve hissed at the voice. "Your wrong! I'm not afraid." The voice sighed. "Then explain this to me. Why do you avoid learning other moves or train to become stronger more often. The answer is simple. You're afraid of becoming stronger. You fear your own power and potential. Is that why you let Ryan win during the last Pokémon battle. You could have easily beaten him. You must have noticed it to don't you... Your psychic powers are growing stronger and more difficult to control. What if you harm those around you... What if you make them 'pop' like those lightbulbs." Eve tensed up when she heard the last sentence. "You're wrong! I didn't 'let' Ryan win and I won't harm my friends."
A soft hostile giggle was heard before human Eve said in a rather sad tone. "Don't you dare call yourself human. How could you...You have already forgotten all about me, your human self! There is no way back to our world because we're already dead. Mom... She must be broken right now. She lost both her children at ones... and Rose... Who knows where she is. We are all alone... Poor little Eve..."
Eve could feel tears sting in her eyes as the voice continued. "How could you... How could you just accept that all of this is happening? How can you smile and just be okay with all of this?"
Eve collapsed on the ground and started sobbing. *sob* *sob* "I... I don't... know..." *sob* "It's not like I wanted to die..." *sob* *sob* "I have been doing my best... I try to adapt... but... I miss mom! I miss my old school... I miss having arguments with Rose... I miss being human... I want to go home!" Eve's sobbing turned into uncontrollable crying. Eve was so frustrated that she flew away from her human self into the darkness as she cried out. "Go away! Leave me alone!" Eve curled up and stayed motionless within the endless darkness.
After a while Eve was still curled up floating in the endless darkness. She froze when she felt the same presence as before watching her. This caused her to snap out of her depressed state and look around her. (Who is there! Is it the same person... or Pokémon from before?) With a new found courage Eve made herself stand tall. With conference she called out. "Who are you?"
Almost immediately a voice replied, making Eve jump. "You do not need to know the answer to that question."Eve blinked a couple of times, surprised that the presence actually replied. "Uuhh... What..?" (What the f*ck is this guy's problem.)
Looking around in the endless darkness made Eve suddenly feel uncomfortable. (W... Where is the lake?! I need to get back to the lake.) Eve flew around in the darkness looking for the blue lake. While she was searching she decided to talk a bit more with the disembodied voice. "So... What are you doing here?" It took a while but eventually the voice answered with a single word. "Observe..." Eve stopped flying and looked up in confusion. (Observe who... Me? Is this supposed to be a joke or something? Well... at least he answered the question this time.) Eve rolled her eyes and went with the flow. "Okay... and why are you observing me?" With a moment of hesitation the voice replied."You do not need to know that either."
Eve felt irritated by the voice. (Why you little!) "You sure have a lot of things that 'I' don't need to know!" Eve waited for a reply but the voice didn't say anything back. Eve called out one more time. "Hello... are you still there?"
The voice remained silent. Eve sighed and continued to look for the blue lake. It took her a while but then she finally saw the beautiful light from the lake reflecting in the distance. Eve was never so happy to see that lake again. For some reason it made her feel safer than the darkness did.
Eve looked into the lake with teary eyes when the voice suddenly replied. "Change of plans. There is one thing I must tell you." Eve looked back suddenly feeling really nervous. The voice continued in a almost threatening tone. "Leave mount Moon as soon as possible." Eve looked confused. "Why?"
Before the voice could answer, everything around Eve faded as she woke up.
Eve's eyes slowly opened. Her eyes were still wet from the tears. She quickly wiped them away before anyone could see them. (What a dream... They say dreams are a projection of the subconscious. That means that what human Eve said... No!... What she said can't be true. Then there is that strange voice... What was that voice trying to say? The bigger question is... Who does the voice belong to. I don't know how... but I have the feeling that he isn't just a fragment of my imagination.) Eve sighed and with effort she got up from the ground. (How long was I asleep? 1 hour... maybe 2? I really have no idea.)
Eve jumped when someone tapped against her leg. She was relieved to see that it was just Nina. Nina sat down on the thick moss next to Eve. She was still holding on to Eve's backpack. She had a rather sad look in her eyes. "Uhm... Eve... can we talk?" Eve nodded while rubbing her eyes. "Go ahead" Nina looked down as if she had trouble saying it. "I... uh... Is there something troubling you Eve? You were crying in your sleep."
Eve turned red and avoided eye contact as she whispered softly. "You... saw that?" Nina slowly nodded. "I did... I'm sorry..." Eve shook her head. "No... It's okay." There was a long moment of awkward silence. Nina looked up at Eve. "Do... Do you want to talk about it?" Eve looked down and shook her head. "No... I rather not... But... thank you for asking." Nina simply nodded. There was another awkward moment of silence. Eve looked incredibly uncomfortable. She kept looking back at Nina who was just sitting there. With a load groan Eve surrendered. "Okay I was having a really bad dream... I have had a lot of anxiety lately and it is effecting my dreams." Nina remained silent as Eve continued. "I just... I just don't think I'm ready to talk about it." Nina closed her eyes and nodded in understanding. "It's fine. If you don't want to talk about it than that's okay. But... you know... If you ever feel like you do... I don't mind listening." There as another moment of silence. Eve groaned. (God this is awkward...) She quickly changed the subject. "Sooo... How long was I asleep?" Nina closed her eyes in thought. "About... 5 hours. Give or take." Eve immediately jumped into the air. "What... 5 hours! That long?"
There was yet again another long silence. Eve nervously tapped her fingers against one and other. "So... are you... enjoying the moon party?" Nina looked to the ground. "Not really... I'm not very good in large crowds. Or... any crowd really. It always makes me feel uncomfortable." Eve chuckled and agreed with Nina. "Yeah... I know that feeling. I was never really a people person either. My sister was always the social one. She always knew how to make friends with practically everyone." Eve smiled sadly when she thought about Rose. Nina looked up. " I didn't know you had a sister. What kind of Pokémon is she?" Eve thought for a second and grinned. "Well... She is the type of perso... I mean Pokémon who is friends with everyone. She's kind yet stubborn and always gets herself in trouble. As her older sister I always felt like I was constantly running after her cleaning up the mess she made. Because in all honesty she was quite a handful... but... she was also the kindest, most sweetest sister I could have wished for. She always helped me when I needed her... she stood up for me ... and she..." Tears rolled down Eve's face. "I miss her..." Nina looked towards Eve with a worried look in her eyes. "I'm sorry Eve... She sounds like a wonderful sibling... may I ask... what happened?" Eve wiped away her tears and tried to look confident again. "She... is missing."
Nina gasped and shook her head. "That is terrible! I'm so sorry that happed Eve. When did she..." Eve had to do her best not to start crying like a little child. She crossed her arms and shook a little. "I'm not sure... I woke up and she was gone. I don't know how much time has passed but..." Nina stood up from the soft green moss. "I will keep an eye out for her. I know that I'm not very familiar with all the Pokémon species of Kanto but... I'm pretty sure that I've never seen your species before. Now that I'm thinking about it... What is the name of your species? I only know you're given name. I know lady Mew said that you were her daughter..." Nina flushed red and looked away. "Sorry if I'm overstepping my bounds... I didn't mean to be nosy or anything. You don't have to tell me anything if you don't want to."
Eve sighed and smiled a little before flying in front of Nina. "That is because my 'species' has the same DNA as mew." Eve sheepishly rubbed the back of her head. "To be honest I don't know much about my 'species' either. But I can tell you that we're very rare." (And that mewtwo is created by humans to be a weapon and the most powerful Pokémon alive... But I'm not telling that.) Nina's eyes widened. "The same DNA as lady Mew! Wow... that is quite amazing. Does that make you a mew as well?" Eve laughed nervously. "Not... exactly... I mean look at me... Do I look like a mew to you?" Nina turned bright red and began to stutter. "I... I... I am so s...sorry. That w...was a very s...stupid question." She looked up and observed Eve from top to bottom. "You do have some things that resemble lady Mew though. Like... your eyes." Eve raised her eyebrow. "My eyes...?" Nina giggled a bit. "Yes... there are just as sky blue as the eyes of lady Mew. I think they're very beautiful." This time Eve turned bright red. Eve tried to hide her blush while she whispered. "Thanks..." Nina closed her eyes and smiled gently. Eve coughed and stretched herself out before she turned towards Nina. "Let's go back to the others."
Then Eve remembered what the voice in her dream said. ('Leave mount Moon as soon as possible.' What was up with that? Why would I need to leave?) With a sigh Eve picked up her backpack and Nina. Still thinking about the dream Eve flew back into the open area. It was already getting dark outside as the sun had set on the horizon and the first stars were visible. She looked up into the beautiful clear sky. (I'll wait till morning. Then we will leave. After all I wouldn't want to miss the moon ritual.)
It took another 2 hours for the moon ritual to begin. It was a lovely sight to see. All of the clefa and clefairy were dancing in a circle around the moonstone, jumping up and down in a harmonious rhythm. Eve giggled at the sight. The silver stone appeared to be glowing underneath the moonlight. As the moon stood directly above the stone a bright light filled the open area. When the bright light dimmed Eve could see small orbs of lights falling down on some of the clefairy's. When a clefairy was hit by one of these light orbs their body's started to glow. Eve watched in amazement as the glowing shape of a clefairy turned into something else. The clefairy became taller and it grow something resembling wings on its back. As the light faded away the transformed clefairy cried out in pride. "Clefable!" Eve's mouth dropped. (So this is evolution! So cool!)
Ryan watched in amazement as Lulu was hit by one of these orbs and evolved into an clefable. As Lulu's body stopped glowing Ryan smiled and had to wipe away a tear of joy. He walked towards Lulu. "Congratulations on evolving Lulu. I'm happy for you." Lulu grinned and gave Ryan a hug. This made Ryan blush. Eve giggled in the background. (So cute...)
They continued to party until the moon was no longer visible within the open area. Eve and the other stayed for the night. Lulu let them sleep on the comfortable moss. Eve let out a tired but happy sigh. (Thank god we don't have to sleep outside tonight.) She curled up like a cat purring softly. Nina was sleeping in the bag. She was still too nervous with the other clefairy, clefa and clefable around. Ryan slept next to Lulu. Eve chuckled as she closed her eyes. (Those two make a cute couple.)
There is trouble on the horizon (and make that double.) Team Rocket is coming for Eve. They know where she is.
Eve is getting some issues. After waking up in another world she is bound to get some stress and anxiety. This of course influences her dreams. Human Eve is a representation of her fears and anxiety. Because of this fear she is having more trouble controlling her own power.
Ryan has a clefairy now newly evolved clefable as a friend. For now I'm planning on keeping them friends but maybe in the future that will change.
