The sports festival was only a day away now. The week had gone on like normal, Nobody even noticed Ashley and Todoroki sneak off during lunch or in between classes to engage in less than appropriate activities on school premises. They hadn't gone any further than that first night, even though they both wanted to move further the current state of things confused them.

As the two sat against the wall of the storage room trying to catch their breathe after they had snuck down for another one of their make out session. It was all so painfully normal. This is what normal teenagers worry about. No villains or undercover missions. This is what Ashley had craved for most of her life so far and she was weirdly ok with the unknown state of things. As they sat in silence as they had done every time so far Ashley could tell Todoroki was lost in thought but held back from using her quirk out of respect, and a part of her was terrified to know what he thought of it all.

"After the sports festival." he suddenly spoke out, making Ashley turn toward him quickly as he kept his gaze on his hands which were on his knees in front of him. "After the sports festival..." he repeated, he seemed to struggle with what he was trying to say. "...we'll talk." he finally said.

Ashley sighed a sigh of relief. She nodded back at him slowly trying to not smile too intensely, she was happy that in moments like this she felt that normality. "Good idea. You have to worry about the festival and I have the dispatch meeting so..." she started but paused towards the end of her sentence as Todoroki's eyes found hers as she mentioned her meeting. "...so...after." she finished, lost in his eyes as much as he was in hers. He returned a similar slow nod back she had given him seconds ago.

That night Ashley barely slept, she lay awake most of the night thinking about the sports festival tomorrow. She worried for Todoroki and she was concerned about her brother. This was exactly the sort of situation she never thought she would find herself in. It was 4am when she finally managed to drift off; her pensive state she dreamed of the first time she met the fire and ice user...

The rooms seemed larger somehow since that day. A small girl with short light blonde hair and intense red eyes stood in the archway of the long hall that led to the meeting room where all of the top heroes met to discuss all the ongoing missions and crime statistics. Three months ago the small girl had been made subject of the meeting, following her sudden arrival in the care of Eraserhead.

The little girl, who has holding onto the young Eraserhead's leg as if her life depended on it, seemed nervous.

"Ok..." the young pro hero started as he twisted down to pick the girl up and held her to his side. "Now you have to stay here this time, I shouldn't be too long." he told her as he walked over to a desk in the corner of the room, which sat almost perfectly equal distance between the entrance and the meeting room. Ashley was apprehensive to let go of him as her sat her down on the chair, which was almost comically too big for her. She gave in to him but never took her worried red orbs away from his own tired, slightly bloodshot eyes as if she was talking to him through her expression. It had been almost four months since the incident and 3 months since the last hero meeting, and she still hadn't said a word.

The young man sighed as he understood her worry, there was little he could do at this time. "I'll be right through there, ok?" he reassured. He reached into his satchel to take out a mp3 player and headphones. He held it up for her to see and he placed it on the desk in front of her. "Just like we practiced, remember?" he reminded her, to which her expression relaxed and the faintest shadow of a smile showed on her lips.

The moment didn't last too long as pain shot through the chid's head, making her grasp the sides of her head as if she was trying to shield herself form a loud noise. Eraserhead jumped to comfort the girl, confused as to what was affecting her.

"Ashley!" he exclaimed in worry as the little girl rocked back and forth in the chair. He had seen this reaction a couple times before but this time it had come as a complete shock.

"Exactly what I feared..." a cold deep voice commented from behind them in the same doorway they had come through. Eraserhead whipped round to meet the intense yet weirdly cold blue eyes. Ashley didn't have to turn around to see who it was, she knew why she'd had an episode just then.

"The child has no control. She's dangerous." The massively muscular hero commented as he walked through the room but stopped across the width of the room from them. Eraserhead had to contain himself to not burst out at the flame hero for his comments about the young girl. Ashley slowly turned to meet is gaze, he looked at her as if she were the most loathsome villain he had ever seen. She kept her eyes low, which made her notice the small boy standing behind Endeavour's towering figure. The boy wore a smart little outfit, complete with blazer and one of those thin string-like ties tucked under the collar of his shirt. His half white and half red hair visible under his black school boy rounded hat; with eyes that match the duality of his hair, one a soft grey and the other that matched the same blue of the pro hero beside him.

She couldn't remove her eyes from him; not having much control over her quirk, she was in his head. Her eyes widened at what she felt; so much pain it almost paired hers, and loneliness and loss.

"Shoto, sit there." Endeavour bobbed his head slightly indicating the chair at the desk placed opposite Ashley's against the other wall. The boy climbed onto the chair, hanging his legs to the side still looking in the direction of his father. "Not a word." Endeavour commanded before he took his leave to the meeting room. Eraserhead followed the man with his gaze, Ashley's never left the young boy who had looked down at the ground after his father's command.

"Ok, I have to go." Eraserhead told the young girl, snapping her attention from the boy and she nodded at him slowly. He raised his arms and pointed to his ears to tell her to put the earphones in and she followed suit. She smiled at the young hero before he left for the meeting.

Not a word was exchanged between the two children, not that day nor when they sat in the same room every three months after that for the next ten years.

The present...

As Ashley was woken up by the piercing beeping of her alarm, her eyes flew open and she sat up in bed. She looked over at the clock on her bedside to check the time as she calmed down form her sudden awakening.

"6am, great..." she whispered to herself. She leaned forward, placing her elbows on her knees and rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. She stared blankly in front of her, mentally preparing herself for the day ahead. The worry for her brother and Todoroki she felt last night was seeping back but decided to shake it away.

"Ok, let's do this."

It had been years since Ashley had felt her age, she'd been thrown into hero work at such a young age she never got to experience what most her age do. Slowly, she was starting to understand what it would be like if none of it had ever happened. If that night had gone differently, if she had stayed with her family and if she's never become an agent of the commission. While she sat in the same meeting room she'd waited outside of for the past ten years she stared blankly ahead, lost in thought; her fingers tapped on the arm rest of the chair. She had paid attention here and there as the commission spoke through the crime stats of the last few months. She already knew all the information, as an agent she was expected to keep up with daily reports.

"That brings us to the next point of business... 'Operation: Blackout'." the president of the commission announced, Ashley paid attention this time. She felt the subtle looks from the other heroes in the room.

"I'll do it." she said, her eyes coming back to life and the tapping stopped. The whole room turned to her this time. Ashley looked up and turned to look at the president, "I'll do it." she repeated, she knew why she had been called in today. "You've been talking about numbers you know I have to review each and everyday already, there's a reason I was asked to come in. I'll do it." she said once more. The adults in the room were used to her being on top of things so most of them could just smile at her assessment of the situation.

"I have to be very clear, we expect total co-operation from you in this matter. You've been inside his mind twice now, you're the only one that can get what we need." the president explained looking at the papers on the conference table in front of him. Ashley took a deep breathe as she thought of his words.

"Sir, I can't promise 100% of the results you desire, but hear me when I say I promise 100% termination." she said, looking at the man in his eyes; her need for revenge and pain evident to everyone in the room. The president gave her a couple nods before he spoke once more.

"Very well, we'll use the internship week which is a couple weeks away. It'll give us enough time to prepare and ensure that students are safe with pro heroes."

Soon after the room started to empty out and Ashley walked through the hall but stopped by the window where the desk she spent a lot of her time during those meetings. Her pensive looks got more and more frequent and a lot more intense.

"You got a lil scary there, princess." a male voice called over from the meeting room doorway as the last few people emptied the building. Ashley turned to see her red winged hero friend leaning against the doorframe. She smiled back at him, knowing what he meant.

"I've been waiting ten years for him to come out of hiding; now that he has I might not be able to take everything back but I can make sure he pays for what he did." she told him, taking another look through the window. Hawks gave her a sad smile, he'd known her long enough to know her pain. Suddenly she jolted as if she remembered something and turned back to the young hero.

"What time is it?" she asked, alarmed.

Hawks scramble for his phone, "Uh... 3pm, why?" he said checking the time.

I still have a couple hours maybe I can make it." she said, seeming to speak to herself. Hawks just stood in confusion as he watched the girl pick up her belongings and make her way out the room.

"Where are you going?" he asked her, amused at her sudden rush.

"I have something to do, I'll text you later!" she shouted from across the room as she clumsily exited. Hawks stood in the same spot, eyes looking at the doorway the girl had just left from. He smiled at himself as he crossed his arms.

"She's 16." a voice said, sounding like a warning from behind him. Hawks turned to see Tensei Ida, or Ingenium, stood behind him looking at him with a cold expression and narrowed eyes. Hawks scoffed at the sight of him and what he had just said.

"What are you saying?" Hawks bit back. Ingenium shook his head before he began to walk, passed Hawks but stopped a couple of feet in front of him.

"I'm just saying, she's 16." he repeated before taking his leave with not another word.

Hawks stood in the empty hall with nothing but his own thoughts. "Don't I know it." he whispered to himself before taking his leave.

Just a small warning that the rating is probably going to change in the next couple chapters so it'll be rated M soon. xo
